As summer slowly approaches you may find yourself wanting to expand your t-shirt collection. And being a board game type player you may also want to show your gaming cred. So where can we find some nice gaming t-shirts? Below are a few online sellers that have a decent selection of board game related t-shirts. I will focus more on board game type shirts rather than role playing games.

Game Ink

The Game Ink folks have some great graphic designs for their game related t-shirts. They also did the Gamer Dad design at the top of the post. Their t-shirts run the gamut of popular to obscure games. Just looking at the samples above you can see Werewolves, the old style Trouble bubble and even the board gamers’ rant of Monopoly taking too long. I just wish they had more designs, but a recent post says they are getting all creative with designs again and you can even vote on their new designs at that post.

Visit the store

Read the post

Cafepress

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, Cafepress has a large assortment of board game related t-shirt designs. Doing a search on their site for board game related t-shirts gives about 1,200 designs. Granted, some are better than others and it doesn’t take too long to quickly look through them to pick out a few of the better designs and designers. A couple that caught my eye are above. The Werewolf one is perfect, Carcassonne shows a quality design and why not flaunt our inner geek and nerd with the Word Nerd for the Scrabble lovers out there. You can click on the text links to go to that particular t-shirt design. And if you wanted to be all creative you can design your own t-shirt to wear, just don’t forget about copyright infringements for images you may use.

A Cafepress store of note is The Board Game Gift Shop. There you will see quality designs based on Rio Grande Games and games like Carcassonne (like the design above), Lost Cities, Puerto Rico, etc.

Visit Cafepress’ board game area

Choice Shirts

I found only a few board game related t-shirts at Choice Shirts in their retro/vintage area. They appear to be more pop culture/mature related. They also have Lite-Brite t-shirts there

Visit Choice Shirts

You can also go to the board game companies that produce the games themselves as some of them also carry apparel and merchandise related to the games they design or produce. You may also have some luck searching for retro or vintage t-shirts in your favorite search engine.

If you know of another online board game t-shirt shop, feel free to leave a comment or email me.

So I have been working really hard on Caturday to find decent designs, but I haven’t been able to come across any of late. Due to this hiccup, I am going to the old stand-by: white-trash-super-cute-cat-illustration-with-heinous-message-t.

See the following:

Me neither, you should just curl back up in to your widdle ball and sweep somemor!

Uh, no it isn’t, you cute little sunglass-wearing brat, who I just want to snuggle so much that I would wear you on my 3x t-shirt!

Yes it does, little buddy, yes it does.

I have to apologise for putting you through this dear reader. However, I had to make a post about this, because these t-shirts are as shamefully ubiquitous as palazzo pants and Ugg boots. In the off-chance that you enjoyed this post, or are a masochist, there are lots of others out there. Here’s another personal fave .

Thank YOU Choice Shirts .

This week, socialTNT is gonna “Stick It To The Man” by showcasing small businesses and individuals experimenting with new media as promotional tools.

Choice Shirts is a t-shirt site where visitors can browse, purchase and create graphic t-shirts. I know, there a literally tons of online t-shirt purveyors, but how many of them use Twitter? Choice sends out daily special tweets with discount information. There are only 20-something followers right now, but this could increase if they promoted their Twitter-stream on the site.

California Cosmetics, mentioned in my post on rethinking online video strategy, is the product of a 20 year old girl named Lauren, a certified cosmetologist working her way through college. She uses YouTube to give video tutorials on achieving certain looks. Since starting on October 29th of this year, Lauren has more than 570 subscribers and is the 16th most subscribed director in the “guru” channel. Many of her posts come from requests and questions she receives from her fan-base. By listing upcoming posts, Lauren keeps her viewers coming back.

Technomic Asia is a strategic consulting firm for businesses moving into the Asian market. The firm has approximately 25 employees. Their (mostly) weekly podcast includes tips for executives visiting China or special news relevant to companies doing business in that market. According to feedburner, their podcast has about 550 subscribers. With most episodes rack up to 2000 downloads, Technomic Asia places itself in a good position to establish thought leadership.

By looking at these three examples, how can you reach your customers directly and in real time? Do you have special knowledge or skills that you can offer your customers? What’s holding you back!

How are you using social media to promote your small business? I’d love to hear from you. Send me an email or hit me up on Twitter. We will be showcasing unique angles all week!
