Aún a pesar del mega éxito que tuvo “The Dark Knight”, la secuela uno pensaría de que seguiría en el aire. Pero según Batman On Film dijo la semana pasada de que la Warner Bros. debería ya de haber completado sus planes para un Batman 3 en enero del 2010. Aquí abajito viene un pedazo del artículo original.

“Un tipo le dijo a BOF (Batman on Film) de que entre menos escuchemos a Nolan con un anuncio de Batman 3 en el 2010, menos posibilidades tendrá de que sea el director (cosa con la que no estamos de acuerdo ya que tenemos la idea de que Chris ya firmó el contrato).”

Se había dicho de que Batman 3 se iba a hacer con o sin Nolan, pero vamos a esperar a ver como es que se dan las cosas. Por lo pronto, lo dejamos como mega rumor y en cuanto vayan saliendo más detalles los postearemos de volada.

Don’t go flying out the window Batman fans, Dane Cook hasn’t been cast as Batman’s latest nemesis for the Dark Knight follow-up. In an interview with MTV News, the comedian was asked if he had interest in any new comic book films, to which he replied, “I love the new Dark Knight series and ‘Batman Begins…If they brought back The Riddler—a new Riddler the way they did with The Joker—that would be bad-ass. I would do that.”

Cook goes on to discuss how he would transform into the diabolic brain-teaser:

“When they were making the new one and they were doing The Joker, I always thought it [should be] kind of like ‘The Crow’—having that dark element but still comedic… “It would probably have to be something in that vein, even though I think what Heath Ledger did with the Joker was the greatest comic book villain ever.”

In other Batman news, LatinoReview reports they’re source has confirmed that Batman 3 will be a go, whether series director Chris Nolan returns or not. It’s looking gloomy in Gotham City!

British magazine Shortlist caught up with Bruce Wanye’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth AKA Micahel Kane and asked the prestige actor about the up-to-date status on the next Batman film. “I don’t know if they [Warner Bros] are ever going to make another ‘Batman’.” Caine continues,”If they do it won’t be for quite a while…As for the future… if they ever make another ‘Batman’ I will be in, I will be the butler…”

Something tells us Warner Bros. is eagerly awaiting a response from director Chris Nolan, who they obviously want to create the film.

You’re trying to sell the hype. But Bruce Wayne? Is not buying it.

Daaamn. This looks pretty cool, and I say that only because mancrush champ Dicaprio is a prominent part of the movie. I’m a little weary of the Matrix vibe here because the Matrix and its sequels (the Matrices?) do in fact suck balls.  Also this means that Chris Nolan is at least filming his non Batman movie that we knew he’d do before the next Batman so we’re just a little bit closer to that day of days.

One Christopher Nolan; film director, producer and screenwriter extraordinaire. Dedicated to his work, and singularly good at what he does. In a way, Nolan’s success can be determined through his unique and ever so enjoyable to watch film style. This is the case for pretty much anything he works on, where anything he touches turns to gold.

With his films collectively grossing over $1.6 billion just over worldwide, and his average film rating being 86.3% on Rottentomatoes (where Harry Potter’s average only reaches 82.8%), Nolan is an increasingly popular director yet constantly unappreciated for his work in the film industry. His first film in his arsenal of soon to be upcoming talents was notably Following back in 1998, only grossing a mere $48,000 from a $6,000 budget. Next up was Memento, which took a surprising $39.7 million from a $9 million budget, quite the increase, as you can see.

Then finally, Nolan’s career hit its peak, and he’s currently residing up there as we speak, receiving fan mail asking one single question. “How’s the weather up there?“. To which Nolan can happily reply “Jolly good“. Christopher’s limelight lasted far more than for 5 minutes amongst film critics, among fans however, he was not widely recognized as much as he should be, even to this day. His Insomnia, after Memento grossed with $113 million, then came Batman Begins with a hefty $372 million. The Prestige (A very good film indeed) grossed only $109 million before his big break with The Dark Knight, with a whopping $1 billion. The success of The Dark Knight, was global, details however were not of its accomplishments.

The Dark Knight was #1 in terms of; ‘Comic book adaptations, superhero films, the Batman series, all DC comic films, all time  première gross, opening weeks, highest ranked opening weekend and PG-13, single weekend gross, and was subsequently the fastest film of all time to reach 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, and $500 million’… Try saying that three times fast.

Nolan’s latest film set for release (2010 – undecided date) is Inception (I will inevitably be doing a piece on this), a warped contemporary psychological science fiction film set in ‘the architectures of the mind‘. A notably rumoured release however is the thought of a Dark Knight sequel, (Gotham City working title?) to which Nolan stated this

“Well … let me think how to put this. There are two things to be said. One is the emphasis on story. What’s the story? Is there a story that’s going to keep me emotionally invested for the couple of years that it will take to make another one? That’s the overriding question. On a more superficial level, I have to ask the question: How many good third movies in a franchise can people name? [Laughs.] At the same time, in taking on the second one, we had the challenge of trying to make a great second movie, and there haven’t been too many of those either. It’s all about the story really. If the story is there, everything is possible. I hope that was a suitably slippery answer.”

Personally, I think Warner will reel him in, if anyone can make a third successful film, It’s him. Based on past performances, there’s nothing this man can’t do.

Depois de Megan Fox e Angelina Jolie, a próxima atriz cogitada a viver a Mulher-Gato nos cinemas é Charlize Theron. O jornal britânico Daily Express publicou nesta quinta-feira uma declaração da própria atriz sul-africana, que insinua ter fechado a negociação para interpretar o papel. “É uma notícia incrível. As últimas novidades sobre a sequência são maravilhosas. Chris Nolan (o diretor) é um gênio. Seria idiota se não considerasse fazer o papel”, afirma a atriz. O longa ainda está em fase de produção e, apesar de as filmagens estarem programadas para iniciar no próximo ano, o lançamento deve ocorrer somente em 2011. O filme terá Christian Bale, como Bruce Wayne, e Michael Cane, no papel do mordomo Alfred. A direção é de Christopher Nolan.

 O ator britânico Michael Cane, um dos melhores atores de seu tempo e vencedor de vários prêmios, mostra que ainda está em plena forma e pode desempenhar um papel considerável em filmes de ação.

Depois de viver o mordomo Alfred na nova franquia de Batman. Caine ganha notoriedade ao ter seu novo filme Harry Brown, exibido no Festival de Toronto.

Bruce Wayne pode-se dar por satisfeito. Além da sabedoria de seu mordomo, ele pode contar com seu mais fiel amigo para várias aventuras. Pergunto: Precisa de Robin? Acho que não.

1)  No way would Chris Nolan cast someone with this calibre of (non) acting skills and

2) They haven’t even written the script yet so why would they start casting?

Then again, as mentioned on WWTDD.com, The Sun were the people that officially announced Eddie Murphy as The Riddler a few months ago so take what you like from this – for us it means we get to put up a pic for the Megan Fox fans out there who, I am certain, there are countless.

Regardless whether this is true or not (it isn’t) this will be rather bad news for Miley Cyrus who apparently was extremely keen to get this part.  Insert achey breaky heart pun here.

Slow news day so here’s a quick one:  There’s a rumour that Chris Nolan is considering shooting Batman Begins 3 in 100% iMax.  Now for you poor souls that haven’t eveer witnessed a film in iMax then it’s simply a movie (or usually just certain scenes from said movie) where the picture is taller than it is wide projected on a special screen about the size of God’s penis.  I had the fortune of catching The Dark Knight in London’s iMax last December and can’t stress enough how amazing the experience was… but I do have my concerns.

This looks amazing on a screen that’s the height of a building… but when it hits the small screens then we’re looking at a return to the 4:3 ratio or having some serious cropping done to fit our wide screen TV sets – neither which sounds acceptable really.

The next thing (that came from a discussion I had earlier) is that this may be nothing more that Nolan just testing the water with Warner Brothers.  ”Yeah I’ll only do the next movie if we can do it all with stupidly expensive cameras where the results can only be seen in a handfull of cinemas” kind of thing.

Nolan fans might be impressed by this others are suggesting this is pretty warmed over material, drawing as inspiration everything from The Matrix to eighties cult favorite Dreamscape.

The nerd news networks have been all a’buzz ever since Gary Oldman seemed to let the bat out of the bag during his appearance at the San Diego Comic Con panel for The Book of Eli. Oldman reportedly stated that they were planning to shoot next year, adding “ but you didn’t hear it from me” and then later followed up with “I’ve been a rather naughty boy today”.

So if you ask me, that all seems to spell out that Nolan is back on board people! I seriously doubt they would be making any definite plans were he not. Over at Batman On Film they pointed out that The Dark Knight was officially announced the week following Comic Con in July of 2006 so could we be looking at an official announcement next week?

Of course we are all foaming at the mouth to find out who the next villain(s) will be. Most assume Catwoman and The Riddler to be at the top of the list. (and when Johnny Depp says he would gladly don the question mark, how do you turn that down??). While the Riddler may just seem like the next obvious choice in the Rogues Gallery, he is also perhaps the perfect Chris Nolan villain. With he and his screenwriter bother having made names for themselves delivering films with twisting, turning, labyrinthian plots (Memento, The Prestige), I’m confident they could turn out one hell of a mind bending puzzle worthy of The Riddler!

Also since the Nolan brothers are so adept at juggling multiple villains I would personally love to see the lesser known Hugo Strange thrown into the mix. In the Legends of the Dark Knight story arc “Prey” (which is possibly the most disturbing Batman story I read as a child) he was a psychologist hired to use his analytical skills to determine Batman’s identity so the police could bring him to justice. However, being quite demented, he chooses to keep the information to himself and plays twisted mind games with Bruce Wayne, pushing him to the brink of insanity. A story perfectly suited to Batman’s outlaw status post ‘Dark Knight’ and one that could be easily intertwined with The Riddler.

Whatever the choices of villain it’s safe to say that this is the most anticipated comic book film of all time and if Nolan is indeed blessing us with his talents once again, he has earned the absolute faith of legions of Batfans everywhere.

Linterna Verde, Flash, Aquaman, Teen Titans, Adam Strange, Jonah Hex. DC y Warner finalmente parecen estar entrando de lleno a la máquina de producción de dinero que son los super héroes hoy en día y una estrategia integral de usarlos para llegar a la “Liga de la Justicia” pero ¿podrán lograrlo mientras al mismo tiempo hay problemas con los 2 más fuertes: Batman y Superman?

Desde que Marvel empezó a sacar sus películas de varios héroes para después unir todo en la estrategia de “The Avengers” todos se preguntaban qué onda con DC y DC y Warner no habían podido dar una respuesta muy satisfactoria. Ahora parece que ya están agarrando la onda pero al mismo tiempo el caos se avecina sobre ellos también.

Hal Jordan a Escena!

La noticia más importante ahorita es decirles que variety reporta que al fin escogieron un Linterna Verde (Green Lantern).  El héroe Hal Jordan que saldrá en 2011 en las pantallas será interpretado por Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds ya es conocido por haber interpretado a Deadpool en la película de Xmen Origins: Wolverine  y también se filmará una película de ese personaje con Reynolds o quizá ya no gracias a esto?. Por lo visto le gustó esto de mezclar comedia con super héroes y se metió bien en ambas compañías. Yo en mi personal opinión y siendo muy fan de Green Lantern creo que Reynolds como actor no queda en el papel de Hal Jordan y debió de haber interpretado a Wally West (The Flash, ya hablaremos de eso más adelante). Reynolds me gusta a mi como actor, me cae bien y me da gusto estarlo viendo más en pantalla, pero si va a ser el Guardián

Se parece al Hal con Barba quizá?

Esmeralda yo lo hubiera puesto como Kyle Rayner, que en su etapa como Linterna tenía una personalidad más ad hoc a la forma de actuar de Ryan. No sé si vaya a dar el ancho emocional y de personalidad que un personaje tan complejo como Hal Jordan requiere, y vaya, ahí también depende muchísimo del guión. Veremos como evoluciona esta parte de la estrategia de Warner que peleará en el verano de 2011 contra Thor.

Mencioné a The Flash porqué los fans votaban casi unánimente que Reynolds debía interpretar a Flash si se hacía película de este personaje, esto obvio ya está anulado al irse con otro personaje, pero además se dice que el guión de la película posiblemente se enfoque en el Flash de la época de plata Barry Allen, dado que en estos momentos al parecer es un proyecto general de traerlo de vuelta incluso en los comics, a cargo de Geoff Johns –un grande en los últimos tiempos de los comics de DC — será algo interesante de ver. También se habla del desarrollo de la película de Aquaman que se supone está ya en la casa productora Appian Way de Leo DiCaprio, según el sitio ScreenRant.com habrá que ver si es cierto.

Todo esto se junta con proyectos como el héroe vaquero Jonah Hex en donde salen John Malkovich y Megan Fox, además de proyectos de Green Arrow, Lobo, Teen Titans, Adam Strange, Constantine 2, etc. algunos son solo rumores, otros están en pre-producción según reportan varios sitios de películas y comics.

Todo esto apunta a que al fin estén haciendo bien la estrategia de sacar más heroes y contar historias entremezcladas y todo eso que nos enseñó Marvel que funciona, pero además era justo y necesario que de un universo tan vasto y tan rico como lo es DC al fin saliera una película que no estuviera relacionada con Batman y Superman! (Catwoman y Steel por ejemplo son películas relacionadas con estos personajes). Al fin vemos a los otros héroes de DC que son igual de estupendos que los pesos pesados de la Editorial.

Además llegan justo a tiempo dado que la secuela de Batman peligra dado que el director Chris Nolan no está nada convencido de entrarle al proyecto de la tercera entrega de Batman – y con mucha razón según mi opinión- y peor aún: Superman entra en un pleito legal muy fuerte que podría cambiar la industria del comic y no solo del cine, esto es que en 2013 los derechos de superman pasan totalmente sus creadores siegel y shuster (o familias en dado caso)  DC no podrá publicar, suspirar o hacer nada de Superman sin la aprobación de ellos e incluso la posibilidad de que Superman acabara siendo un héroe de Marvel está ahí. Además de que un juez dictaminó que es necesario hacer una película de superman antes del 2011 para mantener las regalías que las familias merecen por contrato, nombre, un rollo muy divertido.

En fin, darse una vuelta de vez en cuando a ver como va el mundo del cine de superhéroes y de los comics tan famosos de DC siempre deja un buen sabor de boca y muchas sopresas. Espero que todos y cada uno de los proyectos mencionados lleguen al final de una manera satisfactoria (no todos en altos presupuestos pero al menos sí en calidad) pero me emociona pensar en que al fin veamos héroes con los que crecimos de DC tal y como hemos visto a los de Marvel.

Why do our films make no money? Why don’t Australians see Australian films?

“WHEN Antony Ginnane, the president of the Screen Producers Association of Australia, said last year that people would rather jump out of a plane than watch an Australian film, many may have dashed for the emergency exit with him. “We’ve been making, in the main, dark, depressing, bleak pieces that are the cultural equivalent of ethnic cleansing,” Ginnane told the association’s conference on the Gold Coast. “Nobody goes to see them … We cannot continue to simply expect $100 million-plus worth of support a year to be handed over by Government if our share of the theatrical box office remains an appallingly low 2 to 3 per cent.”" {link}

It’s only been one year and we can’t wait to get a sequel to the greatest comic book movie of all-time, The Dark Knight. But it looks like the man behind the camera (Chris Nolan) might have others plans.

According to a source at Batman on Film:

The death of Heath Ledger in January of 2008 rocked Mr. Nolan hard. So hard that Chris was convinced that TDK was going to be it for him and Batman on film.
You are correct in reporting that he is developing story ideas with [Jonathan Nolan] and David Goyer, but it will be until AT LEAST 2012 before we see the Caped Crusader back [in theaters]. And that is only an EARLY ESTIMATE at best right now. They are even saying it might not be until 2013.

Not even the Joker finds humor in this. It was a hard loss to lose Ledger, but what can be done?

ساخت Inception همین روزها آغاز می شود و تاریخ اکرانش ۱۶ جولای ۲۰۱۰ است ( و این می تواند یک هدیه تولد فوق العاده باشد برای افرادی که ۱۵ جولای به دنیا آمده اند ! باور کنید خودم را نمی گویم !! ) کمپانی های وارنر براس و Syncopy تهیه کنندگان فیلمند و فیلمبرداری با نام جعلی Oliver’s Arrow ( پیکان*** اولیور ) انجام می گیرد .

در آخر برای کریس نولان عزیز آرزوی موفقیت و پیشرفت دارم . هر چند بخش پیشرفتش با وجود شاهکارهایی که ساخته کمی نامفهوم به نظر می رسد و خودم هم نمی دانم پیشرفت نسبت به Memento یا Dark Knight چه معنایی می تواند داشته باشد ؟! و احتمالا معنایش پیشرفت کل سینما و باز شدن دریچه هایی جدید از هنر هفتم خواهد بود ! عمو کریس ترکاندن را شروع کرد تا سال بعد فیلمی داشته باشیم که بشود برای دیدنش لحظه شماری کرد ! خدا نگهدارش باد !
