Style Note: I have to admit that this look did not come easy. I spent almost half a day to compile the entire look with extremely careful pick from head to toe. This look inspired from my boyfriend’s new fashion crush – the denim shirt. While I was browsing through www.net-a-porter.com, I saw the Anna Sui denim dress and I am so drawn to it that I was searching for other side accessories to match her. She is already a heavy dress with the exaggerated embellishments and that’s what make her a heavily beautifully dress. And quite frankly, those picked items are my favourites. For instance, the headpiece is indeed something new for me and it is amazingly exciting to wear one for any occasions, especially those that you can shine in the crowd with the rocker Balmain jacket. This jacket is also another heavy girl with absolute stylish masculinity and the black leather cuff comes in as a baby heavy metal to elaborate the rocker voguishness. Since the top has already been quite heavy, the bottom should be something relaxing and simple – a pair of highly sophisticated and elegant black jazz pump from Christian Louboutin is ideal! The posh small clutch bag from Burberry Prorsum is also a great accessory when you match it with complicated look.

The goal of this blog is to dispel that twisted feeling of dread in your stomach that you get when you realize that you have a business holiday party to attend after work and then yet another holiday party with your friends after that.  Now why would someone experience dread at the thought of having fun with colleagues and friends over the holidays?  Well, if you live in L.A. there’s no godly way that you’re going to be able to drive home from work to change for a party, drive to your work-related party and then do the same thing over again for the party with your friends.  Actually, this is virtually impossible in any city!

So, I’m here to help dispel that feeling of dread.  In three easy steps I can help you change your outfit from work, to business holiday party, to personal holiday party.

1.  The Work Look:  Wear a shift.  Look for something simple and classic and if you want to make it super easy, black.  Think little black dress with an appropriate hemline for work – This isn’t the time to show off your gams starting at mid-thigh if you know what I mean.  Throw on a chic jacket, sweater or whatever will cover your shoulders that is appropriate for your work environment.  Personally I’m a big fan of the statement fitted jacket in a color that contrasts nicely with the little black dress.  Wear day appropriate makeup – aka put together but not screaming “look at me”.  Depending on your work environment, throw on some layered chains or a subtle pearl necklace.   Complete your look with a statement bag and nicely-turned out heels.

2.  The Work Holiday Party:  Retouch your makeup.  You can get away with a more pronounced look but don’t go for the “I’m hitting the club after this party” look.  Change your jewelry to a statement piece.  Think long Coco Chanel pearls looped around three times.  Personally I’m a huge favorite of these stunners by Claudia Endler Designs - gorgeous modern and contemporary interpretation of the classic.

Take off the work jacket and go for a hot, fitted leather jacket that ends at your waist.  Not your look?  Wear a wrap to keep the cold away, you’ll be taking it off at the party anyhow.  Shoes, here’s another shot to go sexy.  Go strappy or go stacked heels – just go with statement.

É tão linda que eu tô sem palavras… é Christian Louboutin, mas quem se importa

After almost a week of absence, I’m back with a dress made on Polyvore.

The main concept was to create a set with evening dresses – of course with fabulous shoes. Are the shoes the X-Factor?

I hope you like it and maybe you’ve found your new love regarding both the dresses and the shoes.

No one understands the connection between me and fashion. My family treats my interest almost like a handicap. I am serious. They just do not understand why I would buy a garment… “just to have it” or “to look at”. They don’t understand why I look at the stitching of a shirt before I purchase it or why sometimes price really doesn’t matter. So many realatives ask me this question as they sob on their knees:

“Why do you love fashion so much, dear Autumn? Why!?”

I’ll tell you this: Blame Louboutin.

It all started two years ago during winter break for school. At the time, I was in eighth grade and was beginning to notice clothing as not just protection from the natural elements, but as pieces of art. My mother took me shopping downtown (chicago) on Michigan Avenue. This is where I was introduced to one of the most beautiful stores ever known to man: Neiman Marcus.  (sure I was used to the tiny one at my local shopping center… but this one was just so grand and glamourous).

Imagine my reaction to the crazy clutter of the beatuy section on the first floor. I admit I was a bit intimidated. But, as soon as the escaltor glided me up a level, I knew I was home.

The mouth of the escalator spit us out at the shoe department. Oh my glorious gosh. Shoes. While exploring this new found land, I came across the most bizarre, cooky short cowboy boots that were pink in color and covered in crystals. They made me think of Jessica Simpson.

I was in 8th grade, okay? Anyways, as I was trying to figure out those boots, my mother gasped:

“Mom, are you alright,” I asked, a bit frightened.

All she could do in response is point. Yep. Point at the most delicious peep-toed pumps in existence. These would be Christian Louboutin’s Glitter Pump.

(The pair we found were gold, not silver.)

I immediatly asked the salesman for a pair in my size (…9).

“I am so sorry. You see, we only have one pair left in an 8 1/2. And, they have been worn before,” the kind man said.

I said I didn’t care. Get me those 8 and a halfs. And, as the box neared me, my palms got a little calmy. I began to get light-headed. The room was spinning. And that was the moment I knew I loved fashion. Everytime I see something beautiful, the same reaction occurs. I am in love.

Well, the shoes came out of the box. I tried stuffed my fat feet into them, but was miserably unsuccessful. I cried. Yes I did.

It’s all because of those citadels of fashion on West Queen West that I’m kept beautiful. It seems as though every time I shop in the area, I’ve entered the emporium belonging to fashion avatars.

First I walked into Chasse Gardee. A long, body conscious black dress with a thick braided scarf along the neckline, sat draped in the storefront. It looked more like an installation than something one would wear. But then – as I looked up – I was transfixed on the sea of shoes. They were positioned  as if marching upwards, perhaps to the pearly gates of a shoe paradise. There were biker boots, shoes embellished with gold-pleated rivets, and hard-edged “bitch boots.” It was all – as they say – a sight for sore eyes. But what got  me was a piece of architecture with black pony hair and a varnished, diffuse-porous wood heel. But, it wasn’t just any heel; I perceived the illusion of a shoe without a heel. I brought the shoe within closer circumference to get a better look. When I looked at the insole, the label spelt “Finsk.” I was in bewitched.

Julia Lundsten, a Finnish-born graduate from the London College of Fashion, and Royal College of Art, launched her shoe line – Finsk, in 2004. “I approached shoe design like architecture or furniture for the feet rather than conventional footwear when studying for my MA at the RCA,” said Lundsten about her concept in an interview with Design Forum. “There is no need for a heel to have a ”heel-like curved shape”. It is not functional, and can therefore be changed. But a shoe should be flattering to the foot and the body.” Christian Louboutin and Manolo Blahnik are cobblers who have both mastered the finery of foot fetish. But who better to design a woman’s shoe, and understand her feelings towards her shoes than a woman?

Next I paid my family at Carte Blanche a visit. As my eyes scanned the room, I became entranced by a bright object on a rack cloaked between a caboodle of clothes. I walked over to the rack and examined the object further. It was an elongated button-up blouse with caped-sleeves encompassed in colorways of candy pink, clementine, and metallic silver, and outlined with black lines that resembled a stained glass window. It was truly – a work of art.  (There is also one with green and blue colourways, pictured.)“That’s Horace,” the Sales Assistant, Nyssa, had advised me. I walked to the second section of the store and looked at some pieces by Gareth Pugh (my favorite designer), and Jeremy Scott. But then I saw another long, complex, black-knit shirt with two almost floor-length drapings. “That’s also Horace,” Nyssa advised me (I officially consider her to be my personal shopper). Horace had outdone Gareth for me with these items, and as I left I advised her “I’ll be coming back for Horace.” Then I rushed to a computer to find out more.

Horace is a British line created by Adam Entwisle and Emma Hales in 2002. According to Fashion UK, the brand made it’s fashion week debut in 2007 despite it’s tenure in the business.

Working out of designs studios in Bali and London, the design duo has gained worldly inspiration resulting in a collection that’s androgynous, yet primitive. The line has gained accolades from top fashion editors globally, and celebrities including super models Kate Moss and Agyness Deyn covet the line.

I’ve learned more about fashion now that I’m back in Canada then when I lived in London. Though I’ve always craved fashion, now, thanks to walking down the promenade of curiosity, I feel myself delving deeper into the depths of fashion as an art form.

Pe bulevardul Ferdinand, în fața clubului de jazz, oprește limuzină după limuzină. Majordomi îmbrăcați în tunici cu fireturi, înmănușați elegant, deschid portierele la capătul covorului roșu. În toalete de gală, coboară din mașini vipurile lumii noastre și se înșiruie la intrarea în club, făcând semne drăgăstoase către camerele de filmat aflate după cordonul de jandarmi.

- Aia cine-i? întreabă un jurnalist grizonat, cu ochelari cu rame invizibile.

- Care bă, blonda? Aia-i Nuți, ce naiba, nu mai vezi? îi răspunse un altul, deșirat și acneic.

- Nu, mă. Aia ca un cârnat strangulat. Ia uite-o ce duluri are! Și-a mai pus și rochia aia strâmtă, pațachina!

- Alma? Aia-i Președinta Camerei.

- Președinta Cămării, poate vrei să zici! Întuflecă din pricina stressului funcției. Ia uite-o cât e de dolofană! Și ce prezenvativ de piersică sintetică și-a tras pe ea!

- Termină, nu fi … Uite-l și pe Dinu! Ooo! Excelență!.. Ce faceți? Ați venit la expoziție?! strigă el către personajul ce pășea larg spre intrare.

- Mă întâlnesc cu niște amici, să bem o cafea. Pe Felix nu l-ai văzut? se îndreptă, colocvial, impozanta făptură către ziaristul deșirat, dând în laturi blana de la Prada și vădind un smoking violet. În buzunarul de la piept, nelipsita batistă fistichie, așezată cu o neglijență studiată. Cu un gest teatral, ivi încheietura mâinii de sub haină și lăsă pentru câteva secunde vederii tuturor un ceas superb, Constantin Vacheron.

Blitz-urile nu încetau să scânteie în înserarea răcoroasă. Aerul devenise vibrant și concret, ai fi putut să-l tai în felii, dacă te-ai fi gândit. Totul mirosea a parfum, veselie, lipsă de griji, strălucire și nonșalanță.

Pe trotuar își fac apariția patru creaturi jerpelite, în contrast pregnant cu atmosfera generală. Dau să pășească pe covorul roșu, însă doi dintre majordomi îi oprescu gest ferm.

- Dumneavoastră? Unde mergeți? Aici e o manifestare culturală de marcă! Nu puteți intra în halul ăsta!

- Este invitații! răspunse Jim, scotocindu-se în buzunarele jachetei murdare și sfâșiate. Unde am pus la el?… căută nedumerit și în buzunarele adânci până la genunchi ale patalonilor. Poftește! îi băgă el sub nas majordomului celui obraznic o hârtie mototolită de 5 dolari.

- Cred că glumiți, domnu’…

- Hayssam este la mine! Eu pretin cu Dottore! Facut la el donație la campanie mult euro, metru cubic de euro!

- Hayssam! se întoarse Dinu cu jumătate de trup. Ce faci, dom’le? Ce-i cu tine în halul ăsta? îi privi el circumspect.

- Văzut, bre valah puțit! Eu estem bretin la conașul! îl dădu la o parte cu dosul mâinii pe majordom și înaintă. Conu Dinucu… stai sa spuneam. Eu blecat cu balon zburator la egzpediția. Subt acoperit, Negrul Jim, de la roman american. Asta, neghiob mic si cocoșat, care facut figura si bagat la mine la bușcaria, vrut facem adentat. Venit cu șoarece atacat balon și venit fluture de la Gardaresgu și salvat  la ele.

- Băi, ești incoerent rău! Cum să faci un atentat cu șoareci? Șoarecii nu-s zburători! Termină cu prostiile! Delirezi, mon cher!

- Asta nu înțelege, zise dolofanul bărbos, întorcându-se către publicul care se distra răstălmăcind, trunchiind și transmițând informații distorsionate către cei care nu aveau acces direct la discuție. Eu drimit scrisoare. Voi nu pricepe la mine ce vrut să spunem. Îl luă pe Dinu de încheietura cotului și făcu gestul de a-l însoți înăuntru.

- Și cu noi cum rămâne? țipă înalt tânărul cu ochelari, rămas cu companionii lui pe trotuar.

- Voi vine cu vluture. El duce la voi în egzboziția, le aruncă Hayssam, vădit ironic, peste umăr.

- De fapt, noi nici nu vrem să mergem la expoziție… se replie tânărul. Noi vrem să navigăm pe canalele Deltei, acum că pică expediția în balon… Sau mergem pe mare… Tu ce zici, Huck?

- Mi-e frică de mare. Hai mai bine să studiem underground-ul orașului… Să coborâm în tenebrele lui! interveni Tom Sawyer, cu entuziasm.

Șirul de mașini uluitoare continua să oprească și să verse pe mocheta roșie, bridată pe margini cu auriu, toalete și accesorii pe care le poți vedea doar la Cannes. Murmurul general anunța o seară plină de magie. Nevăzut de nimeni, un șoricel cât o brichetă se strecură printre tocurile Christian Louboutin, Valleverde, Betsey Johnson, Gucci, Dino Ventura, Sergio Rossi, Ungaro și, cățărându-se prin blana ale cărei poale ajungeau la covor, se strecură în batista lui Dinu.

Tempo di ritorni alla musica anche per Jennifer Lopez, a due anni di distanza dal suo sesto (e non fortunatissimo) album Brave.

Per un rilancio in grande stile, la scelta non poteva che ricadere sul duo di hit-maker più utilizzato del momento, The-Dream e Tricky Stewart, che confenzionano per la sexy latino americana una club banger tutta da ballare, in quello stile pop urban che è diventato il loro marchio di fabbrica.

Il testo, in perfetto tradizione J.Lo, racconta la storia che alla diva piace di più: lei ha il cuore spezzato, ma fiera prende le sue cose e se ne va. Stavolta, lo fa indossando un paio di strepitose Louboutin: le scarpe del celebre stilista francese, famose per la scintillante suola rosso laccata. In altre parole, più che una canzone uno spot in musica, intitolato (appunto) LOBOUTINS.

A parte il bridge a tre quarti di canzone, che fa perdere (inutilmente) il ritmo, questo singolo è davvero riuscito: un mix di sex appeal e fierezza, i due elementi che da sempre rendono la Lopez così favolosa, uniti ad un ritornello ossessivo che si canticchia già dopo il primo ascolto.

Ma questa non è l’unica nuova canzone della diva. Come sempre più spesso accade, l’album (intitolato Love? e previsto per Gennaio 2010) è stato anticipato anche da un buzz single, utilizzato per una divertente (anche se non molto originale) campagna di viral marketing, intitolata Who Is Lola. La Lola in questione è un personaggio interpretato (indovinate un po’) dalla nostra Jennifer che, con la partecipazione di Pitbull interpreta questa Fresh Out The Oven in sua vece. Il brano è prodotto dai Neptunes e, seppure non abbia riscosso grandi consensi, personalmente lo trovo divertente, con un bel beat elettronico e i fraseggi ansimanti della diva perfettamente mixati con le rime tamarre del rapper di Miami.

Chiamatela J.Lo, Jenny, Lola o, semplicemente, Jennifer, la Lopez è ancora una delle dive più hot dell’ultimo decennio. Determinata, più che mai, ad infiammare di nuovo i dancefloor e farci ballare. E se non potete farlo indossando un paio di Louboutin, per stavolta vi perdono: andranno benissimo anche un paio di comode Converse.

It’s nice to see Louboutin trying out some new styles, let’s be real the shoes are fabulous but sometimes the styles are always the same but just in different colours!

These are beyond the normal style but i’m in two minds on if I like them or not, I love the two colours of blue on the platform but I have never been a huge fan of pink, It’s a little to candy floss girly girl pink for me!
