It was first beleived that her roomate called 911 after discovering that Alexa had taken an overdose of pills. The New York Post is now reporting that She called 911 herself. According to sources she was depressed over a failed relationship coupled with her parents marital issues with their respective spouses.

Alexa Ray Joel, daughter of Billy Joel & Christie Brinkley, attempted to take her own life on Saturday, reports say. Often complaining of her life being lonely & overwhelming, she was distraught over the breakup with a previous beau.

A female friend  made the frantic 911 call for an ambulance after Alexa had taken some sleeping pills. The pal told operators that Alexa had taken nine pills in hope to die, felt funny about it, changed her mind and wanted to live. Yikes! Joel was picked up from her West Village apartment, where she was found having trouble breathing, then taken to St Vincent’s Hospital nearby.

By the grace of God her situation was not life threatening and she was released later on Saturday evening.

Alexa Ray Joel, she’s a songwriter, pianist and singer who has appeared on Wendy Willams and Jimmy Kimmel’s Show.   Recently, she broke up with her boyfriend Jimmy Riot, a bass guitarist, who is in her band, they we’re living together in the village, and in an interview in July 2009, Alexa said, the breakup left her struggling with her identity, it’s a lot to absorb.  Alexa is 23-years-old and she is planning two free concerts for her fans in New York City.

Singer Billy Joel’s daughter has been released from St. Vincent’s Hospital after a suicide attempt on Saturday. Alexa Ray Joel, 23, allegedly swallowed eight pills of Traumeel and called 911, the New York Post reports .

Alexa’s mother Christie Brinkley hurried to St. Vincents while Billy Joel stayed at his Stag Harbor home to avoid a “circus atmosphere” and kept in constant contact through phone.

According to New York Daily News, a source close to Alexa claims she has been dealing with depression and “had a bad breakup with a boyfriend” in 2006.

Struggling as a singer, Alexa has been outspoken about her unhappiness, The Washington Times says. On her MySpace, Alexa wrote she felt “forgotten” and “can’t seem to meet an interesting guy who also happens to be nice.”

Despite her statements, however, her suicide attempt was still a surprise for many people.

“She seems to have her head screwed on straight so I just don’t get it,” Manhattan writer Gail Worley told New York Daily News. “She’s not someone that you would think was suicidal.”

“Her doctors are assessing her needs. That’s all we can say at this moment,” Alexa and Billy Joel’s publicist Claire Mercuri said in a statement.

The New York Daily News is reporting that when Alex Ray Joel took eight sleeping pills in a suicide attempt, Saturday, she was checked into St Vincents Hospital in New York. 

Mother Christie Brinkley was on hand. Dad Billy Joel, opted not to visit his daughter in the hospital environment.

Perhaps the primary reason I’ve so far avoided writing about Billy Joel is that it would take days, weeks even, to record all the related memories. He was in some ways the defining soundtrack of my early years, thanks to a passion on the part of several family members. We had the albums. We quoted the lyrics at the dinner table. We went to concerts at the Cumberland County Civic Center (which has, by some miracle, avoided the corporate rechristening so common these days — and which also, I just learned, is the same age as me). We were fired up by his token bit of proffered wisdom (“Don’t take any shit from anybody”) and fascinated with his love life. This was long before Christie Brinkley came on (and then departed) the scene, back when he was married to his manager, and I can even now picture the oddly inky drawing I made, at the tender age of 4 or 5, of Billy and Elizabeth together.

Years later, a babysitter and I spent much of our evening together dancing to the songs on “Glass Houses.” She was blonde, and named Heather, and boys liked her, and we played air keyboards, and it was pretty much the epitome of cool.

And years after that, my mother finagled a chance to go to the Civic Center the afternoon before a show, to watch the set-up and the sound check. The two of us sat there happily watching the roadies, but just before Billy himself appeared a security guy came along to inquire just what we thought we were doing there. My mother caved, and kicked herself for it afterwards; we watched the rest of the sound check through a crack in a set of metal doors into the arena.

And the shows, oh the shows. There he’d be, in his blazer and his jeans and his Tretorns. I mean! Was there ever a cooler outfit! Playing the piano and the harmonica, sometimes at the same time, and running around with all that energy. It’s hard to imagine now, with the old, pudgy, alcoholic  Billy lodged in our collective minds, but he and his band put on a hell of a display.

This morning, my radio landed on him just as he sang “Turn out the light,” and I was transported right back there, standing in the crowd, the lights going out on that line. Did that happen at every show? Did it even happen at more than one show I saw? I don’t know, but I can’t forget the thrill of standing in the dark with thousands of people, and screaming when the lights came back just in time for Billy’s gruff puppy-dog “Aw don’t try to save me.”

I could go on. And on and on. Maybe some other day.

I grew up thinking Christie Brinkley lived a fairy tale life.  She was Billy Joel’s uptown girl and news anchor David Brinkley’s step-daughter.

Yet, even cover girls can experience litigation abuse when they divorce a narcissist.  To the outside world, their ten-year marriage appeared to be perfect.  But, behind closed doors, Ms. Brinkley’s ex-husband Peter Cook admitted he was “an idiot.”  Like David Letterman, he sexually harassed  his 18-year-old personal assistant Diana Bianchi.  To avoid a lawsuit and to keep her quiet, he paid her $300,000.  She testified at their divorce trial.

During the trial, it was revealed that Cook abused the children “about a dozen times” and spent $3,000/month to support his addiction to Internet porn.  Cook appeared on Barbara Walter’s 20/20 last October to clear his name:

My hope is that the world see that I’m not the scumbag pervert that I’ve been painted to be.

Court-appointed psychiatrist, Dr. Stephen Herman, testified that Cook is “an insatiable narcissist.”

Yesterday, Cook said “I’ll accept ‘narcissit’ over [custodial] ’interference.’”  Sorry, Peter, they are one and the same.  Custodial interference/parental alienation is one of the favorite litigation abuse weapons of narcissistic pit bulls.  Ms. Brinkley has been subjected to litigation abuse for 3 1/2 years.  Most of Cook’s $2.1 million settlement from Ms. Brinkley went to his lawyers for their fees.  Yesterday, she suggested people visit DivorcingANarcissist.com.  The therapists who maintain the site also have a blog.

On her Facebook page today, Ms. Brinkley posted an excellent article by Emma:  “Narcissism and Divorce.”  If you are currently engaged in litigation abuse with a narcissistic pit bull, I strongly urge you to print out the article and read it every week because “the courts are usually no match for a narcissist”:

When divorcing a narcissist, you are in for the worst battle of your life.  It is important that you have a large support group.

. . .restraining orders. . .document every confrontation. . .protect yourself. . .time-out in order to regroup.  The hardest thing to do is not give up.

. . .they will cause you to doubt all your decisions. . .putting your future at risk.

Amen.

Cook alleged that Ms. Brinkley had engaged in custodial interference and asked Riverhead, New York State Supreme Court Judge Mark Cohen to hold Ms. Brinkley in contempt of court.  Cook attempted to assert control over Ms. Brinkley by asking the judge to appoint a parenting coordinator, demand Ms. Brinkley enroll in anger management classes, and cover his legal expenses.  The judge didn’t buy it, and both frivolous motions were dropped. 

In violation of their divorce settlement’s confidentiality agreement, Cook engaged in a media campaign to smear Ms. Brinkley’s reputation.  Emma explained the dynamic:

They cannot tolerate any shows of strength or determination.  They thrive on seeing your fear.  They may even threaten you, without coming out directly and saying what they will do.  It may be physical, financial, or involve the custody of the children.  The promise of harm can be enough to wear you down. . .making you look like a nut case.

Cook, for example, perceived it to be parental interference when Ms. Brinkley objected when he took their children (Jack, age 14; Sailor, age 10) sailing with his new girlfriend.  Sorry, Peter, judges don’t think it is in “the best interest of the children” for them to witness cohabitation.  As the custodial parent, Ms. Brinkley has a duty to her children to protect them.  As Emma wisely observes:

Even if he is in a relationship with someone else, they will continually return to you to continually harass long after the divorce is over, in order to get their “fix.”  The reason for this is because it is easier to go back to the original source of pleasure than it is to train the new victim.  The longer they can do this, the safer their new significant other will be.

Anyway…you’re really fucking dumb so I’ll take some time to explain why I find it ironic that Christie Brinkley called ex-hubby number umpteen Peter Cook  an “egomaniac.”

Contrary to popular opinion, I believe that there is such a thing as a Super Model, fucking dumb as it sounds.

Regular models just model shit, do wheelbarrows full of coke and bang 2nd tier photographers for coke, while super models have the ability to make one touch oneself about 314 times a day give or take a few. 

That’s a super power.

Super Models are the most self absorbed dipshits (think You) on the planet.  For a model to call anyone an egomaniac makes me wonder if Christie Brinkley even knows the meaning of the word.

Perhaps she’s trying to tell us that Peter Cook likes waffles an awful lot to the extent that it crossed over from quirky to annoying.

1.  Peter Cook – Christie Brinkley in Court Today

Webcam masturbator Peter Cook feels that our Uptown Girl, Christie Brinkley, is a “bitter, angry, vindictive woman.”  Only a narcissist would say something like that….not taking ownership for his contribution to the end of their marriage (including bumping uglies with a teenaged girl).  He will never be master of his domain, so he is punishing Christie for it.   Thanks Christie for the heads up on the website “Divorcing a Narcissist.”  Yes, that does describe them very well.

Christie Brinkley and ex-husband Peter Cook resolved their latest custody dispute today, but not without some last-minute name calling outside the courtroom.

Brinkley was ordered by a judge to return to court today just hours after the former supermodel’s lawyer Peter Coronia released a statement claiming a settlement that exonerated her.

One of Cook’s lawyers, Steven Kuhn, told ABCNews.com that Coronia had “jumped the gun by releasing a press release” before an agreement that had been hammered out overnight before it was presented to the judge.

Judge Mark Cohen refused to approve the agreement until Brinkley showed up in court. When Cook and his attorney appeared this morning alone, Cohen ordered Brinkley to appear as well, telling her attorney that he didn’t care where she was, but that she needed to get in a car and start driving.

Both sides claimed victory.

Earlier in his statement, Coronia said Brinkley was “vindicated” because the settlement did not include any of Cook’s requests that Brinkley “undergo anger management” or that a “parenting coordinator” be appointed for the couple’s two children, Jack and Sailor.

Kuhn also claimed that Cook got what he wanted.

“We reached a final and full settlement,” Kuhn said. “Mr. Cook accomplished a lot in these proceedings, but it should never had been necessary had a simple court order been followed. Mr. Cook is unhappy that he had to come to court to enforce his parenting rights.”

Levi Johnston, the father of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin’s grandchild, plans to pose for an online nude magazine, lending new meaning to the term media overexposure.

The hunky 19-year-old former high school hockey star and one-time beau of Palin’s daughter Bristol has already penned a tell-all article and given dozens of television interviews bashing the 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate.

But soon Alaska’s most famous teen will pose for Playgirl, an online magazine featuring photos of nude men that enjoys a devoted following of women and gay men. To prepare, Johnston has been hitting the gym with a competitive bodybuilder, and is on a low-carb, high-protein diet.

Johnston rose to celebrity during last year’s US presidential election, when the Palin campaign announced he had fathered a child with the candidate’s daughter and that the two planned to wed.

Their son Tripp was born in December and the pair broke the engagement. Johnston has quarrelled publicly with the Palin family over visitation rights. But rather than return to frigid obscurity in Alaska, Johnston has been a fixture in the US news media, which has remained thirsty for inside gossip on the Palins.

In addition to blasting the Palin family in the news media, last month the high school dropout traded his hunter’s garb and hockey jerseys for an Armani suit in a Vanity Fair photo shoot and posed for GQ, changing Tripp’s nappy, shirtless. He has been seeking modelling and acting jobs, and recently shilled for a pistachio nut company, appearing with a bulky bodyguard in an advert that hinted at his affair with Bristol, proclaiming, “Now Levi Johnston does it with protection.”

Palin, who resigned last month as governor of Alaska, is a likely frontrunner for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. Her memoir Going Rogue, due out next month, is already a bestseller. The Palin camp did not immediately comment on the news Johnston would appear in Playgirl.

But their names are inexorably linked. Johnston shows no sign of retreating from the public eye, and could prove an embarrassment to Palin as she seeks to position herself as a credible candidate.
