My buddy Matt turned me on to Chucks as a youngn’, but my feet are too wide to fully embrace the tradition. Oh Well…

Yes! I clearly have a addiction with designing converse right now and I suppose it is not fading away anytime soon. Base on by the amount of releases you can tell that I have been fairly busy with creating more shoes because no one can get enough of them. Most of customers may recognize the Melaskulls converse however these are recolors so now there are more options to choose from. Of course why not make some Twilight converse while I am at it! Yesterday in my post of Robin and Kevin’s glowing testimonial, I swore that I would give you the saga of their sassy shoe couture as featured on National Public Radio.  (YAY!  WE LOVE NPR!) Not to mention their entire Springstep wedding, which will come very soon, hint, hint, hint.

So, it is my pleasure to present to you, Robin and Kevin’s wedding shoe-story, straight from ROBIN:

Helios Has It!: His and Hers Chucks:

“So I am a total dork and I listen to NPR on the regular. They ran a story about the rivalry between adidas and puma (turns out it is a family rivalry of 2 brothers from back in the day).  At the end of the segment, they invited listeners to submit photos  and stories of their favorite pair of sneakers and why they are their faves.  So I did!  You can see what I submitted below.

How it began: My favorite pair of kicks – hands down – has to be my chucks. An old standby for sure.  They have been loyal to me through the years, as I have to them.

While my soul and soles have worn through a variety of pairs, I know have one pair in particular I can call my favorite – I wore them at my wedding.

Comfort and Fashion: Always one to be fashion conscious, and never one for discomfort, I struggled between finding a cute pair of shoes that I could wear for the big day, and wanting to be comfortable. I must admit – I got caught up in the wedding hoopla, and opted for a pair of super cute peep toe heels, that I had dyed a tourquoise. They looked stunning… I lived to regret the choice of shoe about 5 minutes in to the cocktail hour.

Cool Mom: Fortunately for me, mother always knows best, and she brought a pair of chucks for me to change in to. As a matter of fact, she used them as a prop and incorporated them in to her toast. You see, these were not the first pair of chuck tailors I had donned at a wedding.

The Backstory: About 16 years prior, at my cousin’s wedding, I insisted, nay, demanded on wearing them with my floral print dress to her very formal big Texas wedding. Needless to say, it made quite the statement and is still brought up at family functions. My cousin’s husband still refers to me when speaking to his side of the family as “the girl who wore the orange chucks.”

Sweet Dreams of Sneakers: I am so happy to have another pair to add to my collection, and yet another fond memory with my favorite sneakers. Oh and, my husband broke in his first pair of chucks at our wedding, so now we both have fond memories of our his and hers chucks.”

Hot, Hot, Hot !

Diese “Croco Boots” von ROCES sind einfach nur supertylish.Selbst Carrie Bradshaw könnte ihnen nicht widerstehen, dessen bin ich mir sicher. Vorbei die zeiten der tristen, weißen  “Normaloschlittschuhe”. Bei diesem Modell wird es vielleicht nicht mehr ganz so schmerzen, wenn uns das Glatteis zum Straucheln bringt. Wenn wir fallen und stolpern, dann wenigstens “en Vogue“.

Für alle, die es lieber sportlich und casual mögen und sich auch im Winter nicht von den geliebten Chucks trennen möchten dürfte dieses Variante ideal sein.

auch wenn es “nur” um heten geht, sehenswert ist er doch: der film “summertime blues” mit françois goeske.

die geschichte ist schnell erzählt: der 15-jährige alex, gespielt von françois goeske, wird von der trennung seiner eltern überrascht. schliesslich muss er zu seiner mutter nach kent ziehen und erlebt seine ersten gefühle zu einem mädchen. das, was man so gewöhnlich eben “liebe” nennt.

aber irgendwie hat der film seinen reiz: interessante dialoge, manchmal auch situationskomik, und eben mit françois einen sehr guten schauspieler.

Syracuse, NY — A week ago, my four friends from high school traveled four hours for a weekend of mayhem.

This has been an ongoing tradition since we started college. Other visits included: UConn, SUNY Stonybrook and SUNY Oneonta. Every trip has been memorable but this one was especially fun. Here’s a rundown of the weekends events:

This is what I’m currently working on: a dry point etching of my “Chucks” photo. It’s not finished, but I wanted to run a test print to see how it looked. Back to scratching!
