Today was an exciting day for me. After getting up rather late as I kept getting up and going back to sleep too tired to bother getting up, I grabbed my stuff and headed towards the train station. I was heading towards Tokyo main train station as I was going to visit Ishigaki, the Japanese main company for the company I used to work part-time for in Australia, Ishigaki Oceania. I couldn’t wait to meet my Japanese counterparts which I have always emailed and talked to on the phone but never met face to face. In fact, except for a few people in the company, most Australian staff do not know what they look like.

After taking the first few transfers which I already knew about and had no trouble taking, I took the Chuo Rapid Line to Tokyo Main Station. I was a little nervous having never gone, but it went without issue. When I reached the train station, I was greeted with a maze which was worse the Shinjuku. Unsure what to do I searched around then saw I got an email from Yukinobu telling me to meet him at Yaeru Cho (Center). I was confused as all I could ee was Yaeru Kita (North), so after trying to find middle and getting another email from Yukinobu wondering where I was, I told him I was at North and he came to me, where we greeted and headed to the work place. It was super nice to see him again as I had not seen him in a long time and he looked good in business wear. He told me I looked skinnier, a lie I am sure, but it still made me happy. Once we went through the streets, after we decided not to take the underground path as I have never visited Tokyo, we walked towards Ishigaki while I stared at all the tall buildings.

Entering one of the tall buildings, we went inside and went to the 4th floor where I saw a golden Ishigaki sign which looked amazing, and was asked to wait in a waiting room as Yukinobu would bring Masayoshi, Yoshiaki and Sachiyo. After waiting a few minutes, I was greeted by Masayoshi and Yoshiaki which spoke English, suprising me and we talked about my travels and what I wanted to do while in Japan. After Sachiyo joined us, Yoshiaki left to go back to work and I talked with Masayoshi and Sachiyo. I was so happy to meet them, I asked for a photo so I could show everyone back home the people I worked with all this time. After we got two pictures done, Yukinobu took off work early and lead me outside.

We went towards the Emperor Palace, where all the big buildings ended, the gardens started and I got to see a large water moat around the palace. We were greeted with a closed sign, as we had arrived too late which was sad, but I was still happy to see the outside. Yukinobu promised we would go together again when it was open. Then he asked me if I have ever been to Shimbashi, apparently a place where a lot of business people go after work. I had not, so he took me to visit the place and a train ride or two and a walk later, we were in the district. There he asked what I wanted to eat, which I told him everything, so we went out for Nukiyaki (Korean BBQ), and went to a store famous for it.

Apparently it was too famous for its own good as it was fully booked, so we went to another store we happen to pass and entered. Yukinobu asked Masayoshi to come to us when he was done, so we started without him, grilling meet in an open coal fire in the middle of the table. I had to admit, I thought it would taste good, but it tasted amazing. After Masayoshi came, we all ate together and had a great time. Honestly I could have eaten all night but I didn’t want to eat more otherwise I would eat all night. After leaving the restaurant, we went to the train station, where Masayoshi recommended I take the Yanamoto line back to Shinjuku. After we saw it would take 40 minutes to get back through the round about method, I left at Kanda station to take the Chuo Rapid Line back to Shinjuku. Thanking them for a great time, they asked me to come back again next time, and I said of cause, as I left for the Chuo Line. After taking the train back, I went towards the Seven Eleven to buy breakfast when I saw Amanda in MacDonalds. Apparently she was charging her devices there for a late night study session at Mr Donut. I talked with her a little while, even went to Mr Donut and ate a Donut or two, before I let her study, went to Seven Eleven, bought my breakfast, and left for home.

Once I got home, I packed everything away. Taijii and Wataru were playing Mahjong and looked like they had their bath so I didn’t bother to ask if they wanted to come along. I grabbed my bath supplies, headed down for a quick shower and got back upstairs where I set my SD Card to upload pictures, sent messages and started on this post.
