condition worldwide,

Cialis or tadalafil,

and Bayer AG’s

Levitra or vardenafil,

work by increasing

blood flow to

the genitals.

which inhibit an enzyme

type 5 that restricts blood

flow around the body,

including to the penis,

can have side effects

ranging from headaches,

upset stomach and visual

L’impotenza maschile viene di solito identificata e colta in modo del tutto riduttivo: come mero evento fisico, come mera impossibilità di penetrare fisicamente la femmina. Quasi sempre ci si dimentica che la disfunzione fisica è solo l’ultima espressione di un dramma molto più profondo e radicale, che nessun Viagra o farmaco e nessuna strategia comportamentale possono davvero risolvere.

In gioco, alla radice, ci sono l’impossibilità e/o l’incapacità a lasciarsi andare al femminile, la fuga difensiva di fronte al femminile vissuto o come troppo divorante o come troppo rifiutante e castrante. Si tratta di impossibilità e/o incapacità che hanno la loro radice nella profondità più inconscia del Sé; l’Io (che è la parte conscia del Sé) abitualmente dice e vive il contrario: contrariamente a quanto a fatti dice il Sé, l’Io afferma di volere e potere amare davvero la femmina, attribuendo così l’impotenza a fattori e disfunzioni fisici.

Come affermo nel mio ultimo libro La tenerezza dell’eros, un Sé troppo ferito non può senza un’efficace psicoterapia accedere a una piena e adeguata esperienza d’amore (e talora neppure la psicoterapia riesce a colmare ferite troppo devastanti). Se alle spalle – magari non ricordato, magari rimosso o negato, magari coperto dal mito di una madre idealizzata – c’è un accudimento materno o troppo divorante o troppo rifiutante e castrante (la carenza materna è sempre comunque espressione di una coppia genitoriale carente), quel maschio non riuscirà da adulto ad affidarsi al femminile, non saprà e – soprattutto – non potrà vivere la dolcissima avventura di tuffarsi nel magico e trasformante potere della femmina, affidandosi al suo abbraccio e penetrandone il mistero.

Una forma di impotenza maschile di solito ignorata del tutto o, comunque, sottovalutata (proprio a causa dell’ottica riduttiva che dice dell’impotenza come di mero evento fisico) è quella che chiamerei impotenza relazionale. È tipica di maschi, che, da un punto di vista comportamentale e funzionale, parrebbero proprio non avere problemi; anzi, spesso, sono considerati maschi molto efficienti e prestanti, in grado di esprimere una straordinaria attività sessuale. In realtà, a una attenta analisi clinica, essi rivelano una radicale impotenza a relazionarsi davvero con il femminile, così da raggiungere una vera intimità con la donna e con il suo mondo. Non a caso, di frequente, questi maschi presentano improvvise e apparentemente inspiegabili défaillances anche totali e perduranti.

Le personalità disturbate a livello del Sé (per esempio maschi con Disturbo Narcisistico di Personalità [DNP] o con Disturbo Asociale o Antisociale di Personalità [DAP]), molto di frequente coprono con una attività sessuale iperattiva e/o ossessiva e/o molto esibita e/o in apparenza molto disinibita e “trasgressiva” una radicale e massiccia paura della femmina, in particolare della femmina adulta e psicologicamente evoluta; o comunque, più o meno massicciamente, agiscono rapporti che, anche se da un punto di vista funzionale paiono adeguati, sono caratterizzati dalla freddezza relazionale, dalla distanza emotiva e affettiva, dalla assenza di autentica empatia (talora accompagnata da comportamenti sadici e/o umilianti), quasi che la donna fosse per loro soltanto un oggetto erotico, una cosa senza valore “da scopare e basta”, un pezzo di carne privo di anima e di sentimenti.

Per questo motivo, di solito, i DNP e i DAP si accoppiano con femmine molto infantili anagraficamente e/o psicologicamente, comunque con femmine da loro facilmente controllabili e/o manipolabili e/o condizionabili (dal denaro, dallo status, dal potere, dalla paura, dai sensi di colpa, dalla soggezione) e/o con tragiche storie alle spalle (per esempio storie di abusi subiti, di violenze, di abbandoni, di famiglie dissestate da malattie psichiche, da gravi dipendenze, da suicidi). In ogni caso non sanno intrattenere con la femmina relazioni veramente profonde, ricche di continuità e intimità, capaci di identificare i due partners in un Noi in continua e feconda evoluzione, a partire dal quale l’Io e e il Tu si identificano e si differenziano sempre meglio e in modo sempre più ricco e vero. Questi maschi sono perciò costretti a passare da una relazione all’altra, sempre nel segno di una radicale superficialità e impotenza relazionali.

Solo in apparenza fanno l’amore con una femmina; in realtà – usando la femmina – fanno, più o meno inconsciamente, l’amore con il proprio Sé ferito e malato, con la propria paura e con la propria impotenza. Non sentono la femmina, ma sé stessi, in una intransitiva impotenza di relazionarsi con l’alterità del femminile. Accoppiarsi con la femmina serve loro da copertura e da alibi, per non vedere il proprio Sé ferito e malato, molto spesso la propria sessualità infantile e preedipica, la propria inadeguatezza di maschi malati, talora la propria paura di una omosessualità rimossa o negata e comunque non ammessa e ancora di meno accettata (in questo caso presentano forti convinzioni e affermazioni omofobiche: l’omofobia li illude, esorcizza la loro paura di non essere ciò che sono).

Se poi la ferita del loro Sé è ancora più primordiale, tale da identificare una strutturazione di personalità con nodi dissociativi e/o paranoidi più o meno profondi e pervasivi, allora questi maschi possono presentare dinamiche relazionali particolari, che – anche qui – sotto un comportamento sessuale apparentemente “normale” nascondono una radicale impotenza a relazionarsi con la femmina, entrando davvero nel mondo femminile.

Per esempio, la presenza di nodi dissociativi li porta a una modalità relazionale fusionale, come se volessero fondersi con la donna, farsi tutt’uno con lei e in lei. Fusione non è, come taluno potrebbe credere, totale intimità o pienezza relazionale, ma, appunto, impotenza relazionale: nella fusione l’Io e il Tu non si affermano e si identificano l’uno di fronte all’altro, ma si perdono e si annullano l’uno nell’altro. Più che relazionarsi con la femmina, il maschio fusionale la invade, vi si annida con dinamiche sempre più regressive e – per lei – sempre più esproprianti e soffocanti. Più che penetrarla in quanto femmina adulta all’interno di una relazione adulta, regredisce in lei come se volesse, attraverso di lei, entrare in una madre mai avuta, in un contenimento mai davvero vissuto, in una accoglienza mai veramente ricevuta. Di solito la partner di questo maschio è di due tipi: 1) a propria volta essa presenta nodi dissociativi e tendenze fusionali, così che i due agiscono una relazione di mutua dipendenza fusionale, fino alla possibilità di una folie à deux, dalla quale non sanno né possono più uscire (Olindo Romano e Rosa Bazzi, gli assassini di Erba, possono rappresentare, all’estremo, questo tipo di coppia); 2) soprattutto all’inizio della loro relazione, essa addirittura legge e vive il comportamento e la ricerca fusionali del maschio come segno ed espressione di una positiva, intensa, passionale intimità; soltanto con il tempo si accorge della soffocante, controllante e infantile dipendenza del maschio e tende a liberarsene, spesso ottenendo risposte di insopportabile e anche pericoloso stalking.

C’è poi nel maschio (spesso dovuta alla presenza di nodi paranoidi nella strutturazione del suo Sé) quella impotenza a lasciarsi andare fino in fondo al femminile, che si esprime nella difficoltà o anche nella impossibilità a eiaculare nella femmina.

Nella eiaculazione il maschio lascia uscire il proprio seme, cioè la parte più profonda del proprio Sé, quella che, sconosciuta a lui stesso, giace nel profondo del suo inconscio e della sua anima. Lasciarla andare affidandosi al prodigioso oceano della femminilità, alle sue mille fantastiche maree è bellissima, formidabile esperienza d’amore, possibile solo con la femmina totale, meravigliosa che abita al fondo della donna amata.

Chi abbia tendenze paranoidi nei confronti della femmina e del femminile, avrà naturalmente una grande difficoltà ad amare davvero e quindi a lasciarsi veramente andare al femminile. Soffrirà così della difficoltà o della impossibilità a eiaculare nella femmina. Oppure – all’estremo opposto – eiaculerà sadicamente in essa, come se il seme venisse vissuto quale arma con cui colpire la femmina (quanto basso senso del proprio Sé e del proprio seme hanno questi maschi!), quale possibilità di un concepimento che, trattenendola come madre, sadicamente impedisca il distacco e il non controllo della femmina.

L’eiaculazione può dunque essere anche la prepotente, prevaricante e sadica affermazione del Sé del maschio, l’imposizione violenta del Sé alla femmina, o lo sfogo di un Sé tanto ferito e insopportabile da essere incontenibile. Ma tutto questo appartiene alla patologia del maschio del maschile, a una sua impotenza relazionale, di solito ben più profonda e grave di quella fisica.

L’incapacità di lasciarsi andare al femminile non significa necessariamente che si sia impotenti con tutte le donne o che si abbia difficoltà a eiaculare con tutte le donne. È abbastanza frequente il caso di maschi che siano impotenti o abbiano difficoltà a eiaculare con la propria femmina, ma non con le altre o con altre; o viceversa riescano a essere potenti e a eiaculare senza difficoltà soltanto con la propria femmina.

Quando ci sono in gioco le dinamiche più profonde del Sé, risultano facilmente decisivi gli aspetti transferali da un lato e le dinamiche reattive dall’altro. Spesso gli aspetti transferali e le dinamiche reattive si sovrappongono e si sommano tra loro, rendendo la situazione ancora più complessa e articolata. Aspetti transferali e dinamiche reattive riguardano tuttavia livelli di discorso diversi, per cui almeno sul piano logico possono essere distinti, analizzandoli separatamente.

Partiamo dagli aspetti transferali.

Se, per esempio, la femmina con la quale sta facendo l’amore rappresenta per l’inconscio del maschio la madre cattiva, esigente, castrante, divorante, che, quando egli era piccolo, rischiava di espropriarlo della libertà e della autonomia del Sé, allora il maschio si negherà a quella femmina o con la impotenza o con la difficoltà a eiaculare. Con le altre, invece, potrebbe non avere problemi o averne molto di meno.

In generale, si può ipotizzare che le difficoltà si presentano, se e quando la storia di quel maschio abbia dovuto fare i conti con una madre inadeguata, che su quelli del figlio abbia fatto prevalere – soprattutto durante la gravidanza e l’accudimento (cioè durante la fase evolutiva che vede l’attivazione, costituzione e strutturazione del Sé dell’individuo) – i propri bisogni psicologici, lasciando il figlio nella frustrazione o del non contenimento, o della non attenzione, o del non ascolto dei bisogni e delle scelte, o del non rispetto della autonomia, o della non legittimazione del piacere, o della non conferma delle iniziative, o della non accoglienza degli oggetti proposti (ogni bambino prende in mano oggetti o li accoglie nel proprio sguardo intenzionale; la madre adeguata considera ciò come la prima battuta di una interlocuzione che dà nome, storia, continuità, senso, significato sia all’oggetto sia al bambino che lo propone). Con storie di questo tipo alle spalle è facile dunque vivere la propria femmina come oggetto transferale della madre, facendole di fatto pagare colpe non sue. Solo una psicoterapia del profondo può entrare nel merito di difficoltà di questo tipo aiutando a risolverle, spesso con risultati del tutto soddisfacenti.

Veniamo ora alle dinamiche reattive.

Mi limito a un esempio, un caso preso dall’esperienza clinica: un marito, innamorato della moglie, ma frustrato dalla di lei dipendenza dal padre e dalle sorelle, la tradisce con una femmina, con la quale tuttavia ha grosse difficoltà di eiaculazione. Che è successo? La rabbia reattiva, che lo ha spinto al tradimento, non riesce ad attingere e a smentire la profondità dell’amore per la moglie. È come se con la propria difficoltà a eiaculare nell’altra femmina questo maschio volesse affermare l’insopprimibile amore per l’unica femmina nella quale riesca davvero a lasciarsi andare.

Certaines personnes ont recours aux drogues pour s’amuser. Toutefois, les drogues peuvent nuire au jugement, à la pensée critique et au bon sens de ceux et celles qui en prennent. Dans les contextes sexuels, la consommation de substances illicites peut favoriser les relations non protégées et, ainsi, la propagation du VIH et d’autres infections transmissibles sexuellement (ITS).

Chez les hommes, la consommation de certaines substances – alcool, cocaïne, ecstasy et marijuana, entre autres — peut réduire leur capacité à obtenir et maintenir une érection. Par conséquent, certains hommes prennent à la fois des drogues et des médicaments contre l’impuissance (également appelée dysfonction érectile ou DE). En voici quelques exemples :

• sildénafil (Viagra)
• tadalafil (Cialis)
• vardénafil (Levitra)

Des chercheurs de Sydney, en Australie, ont mené une étude sur la relation entre drogues illicites, médicaments contre la DE, comportements sexuels et transmission du VIH. Leur recherche pourrait mener à la découverte de nouveaux moyens d’aider les hommes gais à vivre de façon sécuritaire et en bonne santé.

Étude HIM

Les chercheurs australiens ont recruté des hommes sexuellement actifs pour une étude appelée Health In Men (HIM). Au moment de leur admission, tous les participants étaient séronégatifs. Tous les six mois, les chercheurs les interviewaient de manière exhaustive sur leurs activités sexuelles et leur consommation de drogues. Les participants subissaient également un test de dépistage du VIH chaque année.

Le recrutement pour cette étude a débuté en juillet 2001 et s’est poursuivi jusqu’en juin 2004. Les chercheurs ont recueilli des données sur 1 427 hommes, et l’analyse de celles-ci se poursuit. Au moment de leur admission à l’étude, les hommes avaient le profil moyen suivant :

• âge – 37 ans
• 52 % avaient fait des études universitaires
• 80 % avaient consommé des drogues illicites au cours des six mois précédents
• 21 % avaient pris des médicaments contre la dysfonction érectile

Résultats

Au total, 53 hommes ont contracté le VIH au cours de l’étude. Ils avaient en moyenne 37 ans.

Selon les chercheurs, 621 hommes disaient avoir eu des rapports sexuels anaux protégés et non protégés avec des partenaires passagers au cours des six mois précédents. Environ 50 % de ces hommes avouaient avoir pris des drogues illicites. Prenant en compte de nombreux facteurs, les chercheurs ont conclu que le recours à des médicaments contre la dysfonction érectile augmentait les risques de transmission du VIH.

Chez les consommateurs de substances comme le nitrite de pentyle (poppers) ou le crystal meth, les risques de se faire infecter par le VIH augmentaient considérablement s’ils prenaient également des médicaments contre la dysfonction érectile. Cela pourrait être dû au fait que de nombreux hommes gais et bisexuels utilisent en combinaison des drogues et des médicaments contre la DE pour « faciliter l’activité sexuelle dans les contextes sexuels intenses (sex partying contexts). »

La recherche du plaisir

Selon cette équipe de chercheurs, certains hommes gais qu’ils qualifient de « sexuellement aventureux » courent tellement après le plaisir qu’ils sont prêts à entreprendre des activités à risque élevé telles que la prise de substances illicites et les rapports anaux non protégés. De plus, dans un tel contexte, certains hommes ont recours à des médicaments contre la DE aussi.

D’autres études avaient permis de constater que la prise de crystal meth et de médicaments contre la DE poussait certains hommes à participer à des « marathons sexuels ». Les rapports sexuels prolongés peuvent causer la rupture des condoms et endommager les tissus du pénis ou de l’anus, augmentant ainsi les risques de contracter ou de transmettre le VIH. Ainsi, il est possible que certains participants à l’étude australienne dont nous parlons ici étaient capables de faire durer très longtemps leurs relations sexuelles grâce aux drogues et aux médicaments contre la DE, d’où l’accroissement des risques d’infection par le VIH chez ces derniers.

L’importance du contexte

L’équipe australienne fait valoir que pour mieux comprendre les risques de transmission du VIH, il est important de connaître le contexte dans lequel les drogues sont consommées. Les chercheurs ajoutent que le simple fait d’affirmer que les drogues nuisent au jugement n’explique que partiellement l’impact de celles-ci sur les risques de transmission. Les liens entre la consommation de drogues et les comportements à risque sont complexes, disent-ils. Des chercheurs australiens et d’autres pays ont par exemple trouvé que de nombreux hommes prennent de la drogue pour faciliter leurs connexions sociales et sexuelles avec d’autres hommes. En combinant drogues illicites et médicaments contre la dysfonction érectile, ces hommes cherchent à rehausser leur performance sexuelle et à accroître leur plaisir afin d’intégrer des «  subcultures gaies plus aventureuses sur le plan sexuel. »

L’avenir

Préoccupée par la fréquence de la consommation de drogues et de médicaments contre la DE dans la communauté gaie et bisexuelle, cette équipe australienne a soulevé plusieurs questions qui ont besoin d’être étudiées en profondeur :

• « Quels sont les facteurs spécifiques, biologiques ou autres, qui expliquent le lien entre la prise de médicaments contre la dysfonction érectile et l’augmentation du risque d’infection par le VIH? »
• « Quel rôle les drogues illicites jouent-elles dans la pratique d’activités sexuelles spécifiques dans les contextes sexuels intenses ? »
• « De quelle façon le nitrite pentyle et les médicaments contre la dysfonction érectile sont-ils utilisés par les hommes gais? »

L’exploration de ces questions devrait jeter une lumière sur les comportements de certains hommes gais et bisexuels. La connaissance ainsi acquise pourrait ensuite aider ces hommes à réduire leurs risques à l’égard du VIH et à vivre en meilleure santé.

In 1985 or there close within, a young rapper named LL Cool J burst onto the scene with his fresh, innovative, and ultimately brash single, “Rock the Bells” under the label Def Jam. Who could possibly forget such classic lines as, “You bring the woodpecker, I will bring the wood”? Our favorite line from the single, however, would be that of, “I will battle anybody, I don’t care you tell…” And with such a boast, LL reigned supreme for years with Earl, the DJ whose hand was like a shark’s fin on the wheels of steel.

There has been enough smack talking from the likes of many platinum heavyweights to last a lifetime, and frankly, Universal Artists, International and Joe Stern-McGovern, global agent and President of the company, have decided it’s time to call all bluffs, to stop those who would deal from the bottom of the deck, to prove their own worth, and to reign supreme, just as their ancestor, LL Cool J, did in the mid-80s. With an eye towards cornering the rap market by somewhere around 2014, Universal Artists, International has announced to the world, “You think you can touch this, you talkin’ to me, well then let’s cash battle, sucker DJs”*.

Sucker DJs of every realm, bow down in reverence as the kings who came to save the game pass before your mortal eyes. You name the place, you name the date, you name the style, and watch yourselves stepped on like a petulant red ants on a picnic blanket. The BFG will demand nothing short of your full measure of respect. Show them a line and they will cross it in a minute. If you can see them, it’s too late to run.

In words of caution from those under the Shaka Productions camp in Birmingham, Alabama, “Man up, fool, check your D, because you’re ’bout to feel the fury of the BFG, B!”

The makers of this little blue “wonder” have launched a new campaign that focuses on what happens when couples stop being intimate – apparently you exercise more, do home renovations, or expand your knowledge.  Yeah, I can see why they’d want to put a stop to those activities.

My beef isn’t with the pill, or those that use it.  I am just blown away (pardon the pun) by the amount of money that goes into a drug that only benefits at most (usually) two people – but more often than not – only one!  Can this money not be earmarked for something a bit more productive?

Pfizer was recently the recipient of the “largest criminal fraud fine in U.S. history” $2.3 Billion!  That’s a pretty hefty smack down levied due to “off-label” marketing.  The funny thing is – apparently the little blue pill was developed to help those suffering from depression….

If you need help – then this might be just the product for you.  I just don’t see why this much $$ needs to go to a product that is as effective as it claims.  But, I guess without it, all of the comedians, doctors, ad agencies, and the rest would be out of a job.  And then they’d be depressed.  And then they would have intimacy issues.  And then they wouldn’t know which pill would help them….

I will admit however that I always watch the commercials for erectile dysfunction products.  They are the greatest entertainment on TV since The Andy Griffith Show when Gomer would yell out “Tell Aunt Bea, Gomer says hey!” and I watch all 30 seconds of these ads (sorry if that time frame is a little sensitive to you guys with ED), and the 60 second commercials can be so entertaining, that I’m satisfied (whoops), without having to see them again for days.

Now, let me say right up front that I’m not insensitive to this troublesome problem that apparently afflicts more than 30 million men.   In fact, when I comment on something with a critical eye, it’s usually the very next thing that happens to me.  So I want to be very careful with this topic.

Very careful.

You see, it’s not men suffering from ED that I find interesting, but the TV ads luring them to use a variety of ED products.

It’s the scenes they depict, the men they portray and the disclaimers at the end that I love the most.

In one scene, a man and woman are sitting in two separate bathtubs on the top of a mountain overlooking the ocean.  The problem with this scenario should be obvious to everyone:  What can these two people do about ED when they’re separated by walls of porcelain?

Is this the 1950’s and 60’s when TV censors insisted that married couples sleep in twin beds in TV sitcoms?   Hey, this is 2009!  If you scan the cable stations you’ll hear some of the foulest language, the most degrading behavior and some of the most hateful things in life portrayed on the reality shows.

Then we come (whoops) to the next channel and see a man and a woman barely touching finger tips separated by two bathtubs on the top of a mountain resort.  Sex is not even suggested.

And we wonder why teenagers scoff at the information they’re presented by the mainstream media.

Just once, wouldn’t you like to see the man fling himself into the woman’s tub?  And as the camera pulls back to a wide shot, the guy’s medicine kicks in and we see them flailing away in erotic ecstasy as water splashes out of the tub while they go at it like animals during the mating season?

The question I always ask myself when I see this commercial is, why television can’t depict normal situations.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m rarely in a million dollar house overlooking the ocean or sitting naked in a bath tub on a mountain top when I get horny.  I’m usually walking through the frozen food section at Key Food, or in Julio’s Laundromat with my migrant worker friends washing my socks.

Shouldn’t there be TV commercials that show people in real situations?  How about showing two people leering at each other on the unemployment line, or flinging themselves into some nearby bushes as the dogs they’re walking sit next to each other, rolling their eyes, trying to figure out what in the fuck (uh oh, there I go again) their owners are doing?

Another scene is so good that I watch it as often as I can.

It opens with two nice people in their living room.  The man is watching TV and his wife is reading a magazine.  They’re bored, and life holds no future for them.  If any of you can relate,  please raise your hands.

Then the guy’s medicine kicks in and he looks at his wife like he’s become some sexual pervert.  He gets up (whoops there I go again) and get this, he throws his remote control out into the yard.  His wife who’s been waiting for this moment for years, follows his lead and throws her magazine out into the yard as well.

First, what the hell is all that about?  Can’t they just set the remote and the magazine down on the coffee table?  Nope. They have to throw these objects of distraction into the yard to show they won’t be distracted ever again.

And then the funny part starts.

They start to dance.

This is another action I’m sure was dictated (damn it, I don’t mean to do that on purpose) by a censor who decided that some romance has to proceed them before he chains her to the ceiling of the bedroom.

What’s worse is they start dancing…

… like white people.

I almost choke with laughter at that part, and I’m sure watching them move around stiffly (shit, not again) would be enough to kill the sex drive of Hugh Hefner.

The really weird thing is that each and ever time I see this commercial, between my bouts of laughter, I don’t think about sex.  I think,

“Wait!  What if starts raining?  The remote and the magazine are going to be ruined, and I always want to go outside and bring them in.”

But that’s my problem.

Otherwise I love everything else about these ads.

Another problem I have is that all of the people in these commercials are usually portrayed as affluent, handsome people.  Don’t ugly or poor people ever have penis problems?   It seems not, and perhaps that’s the reason why many poor people are often happier than the rich.  It’s not their attitude or how humble they are, or that they appreciate the simple things in life.  Not at all.

They just have no problems with erections.  I think it’s just that simple and I think I’ve solved all of the social inequality problems of the world.

Makes sense to me.

The next thing I love about these ads are the way the men are depicted.

In every commercial, after the guy takes his medicine, he turns from being a dull but handsome man into some smarmy Casanova that you would do anything to protect your wife and daughter from.  In every commercial, the look in these guys’ eyes oddly reminds me of the filthy reality shows on the adjacent channels.

But my absolute favorite is the guy who takes a woman to a deserted island to get it on.  After several viewings I’ve come (jeeeesshhh) to believe that this is not the guy’s wife, but a woman he’s playing around with behind his wife’s back.

Why else does he have to take her to a deserted island where there is only one porno shack on the entire island?

And who is he afraid will see them?  My suspicions are only heightened when near the end of the commercial, after the boat has dropped them off,  this smarm king looks over his shoulder to make sure that no one is watching and then lowers the shades over the windows.

I want to yell at the schmuk,

“You’re on a deserted island you idiot!  The boat’s gone!  You’re alone with a woman who wants it as bad as you do.  Your penis is raging with medication…and you STOP TO PULL DOWN THE CURTAINS FOR PRIVACY?

Who the fuck  (I’m really sorry)  is going to see you?!!   And unless you’re on some guilt trip and this isn’t your wife (very likely) why do you even care?!!!

Oh, and one more question for Mr. Penis Projectile.  As you got out of the boat, your shorts were wet.  Was that from the water, or did the ED medicine act a little prematurely? (oh boy)

As I watch this hilarity, I can just imagine this guy’s poor wife sitting home with her vibrator,  getting off watching the other smarmy guys on the ED commercials, who look eerily like her husband.

These commercials are like a good meal.  And like a good meal, there should always be dessert.  And with the ED commercials, the dessert is the legal disclaimers at the end which I read as intently as I watch the ads.

Some of them have the following warnings:

Don’t use ED medication if you have recently had a heart attack or stroke, congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, liver or kidney disease, cancer, leukemia, bleeding ulcers, a physical deformity of the penis (now THAT is a horrible image to think about) or if you’ve been told NOT to have sexual intercourse for health reasons.

Let me tell you, if you have any of the above, you’ve got a lot more to worry about then getting a little jiggy with the Missus.  But alas, sex is one of our most powerful drives, and my bet is that those things never stopped one man who needed a little “afternoon delight.”

The disclaimers also state that you shouldn’t use this medication if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoke and if you’re over 50, because you could go blind.

Isn’t that what our parents told us about masturbating when were pre-teens?

But my favorite two disclaimers are the following;

One says “Do not take this medicine in larger doses than recommended by your doctor and do not use while drinking alcohol”

I scream with laughter at this one.  I can just imagine some guy in a bar.  He’s already had 6 beers and is getting ready to score with a girl who has stopped in from Hooters.     He goes into the restroom to take his medicine.  He thinks of taking just one, then thinks of the prominent “hooters” on the girl from “Hooters” and downs three with the last of his Coors Tall Boy.  So much for doctor’s orders.

And then finally, the crowning glory of all disclaimers:

“If you experience an erection lasting for more than four hours, immediately contact your doctor.”

Right.  That’s exactly what a guy is going to do.  I think not.

I’d bet a year’s pay that the first thing he’s going to do is strip naked and run wild through the streets beating his chest and grunting like a wild animal.  And I would bet you two year’s salary that his friends from the neighborhood would come (damn it) out on their porches, watching, and yelling,

“You da man! You da man!” as the guy runs amok searching for anything female with a pulse.

And who says TV isn’t worth turning on (Sorry for one last goof).

Watching these commercials is the most entertaining thing on TV.
