When there are many great songs in a movie, and there are several movies like that, it is easy to lose track of songs that one has posted and that are not yet posted. I have posted several songs from CID (1956) and I thought I had posted this song too. But I just realised that I had not posted this song.

Here is this song from CID. “Aankhon hi aankhon mein ishaara ho gaya” is a “proper” song in the sense that this song is actually picturised on the hero and heroine of this song, unlike most other songs of this movie.

This song is sung by Rafi and Geeta Dutt with gusto. It takes us back to those days when Geeta Dutt used to be the lead female singer of O P Nayyar, and what superb songs she sang under O P Nayyar’s music direction. And Rafi was O P Nayyar’s lead male singer right from the beginning. O P Nayyar in fact would use Rafi’s voice for all songs, irrespective of the actor on which the song was required to be picturised on. In this movie for instance, Rafi’s voice was used for at least three different actors, including Dev Anand and Johny Walker).

Majrooh Sultanpuri had wrote all but one songs of this movie. This is the one song which he had not written. This song was written by Jaan Nissar Akhtar . And the lyrics of the song are really cute to listen to.

Criminal justice sytem

 The words crime, punishment, criminal etc. were coined in the feudal era. At the time of the the capitalist revolution in France ( 177 5 ), when wooly-eyed writers and intellectuals took it as the true revolution ,words like liberty, fraternity and equality came into vogue. Victor Hugo’s Le Mirable  for the first time, made us aware of the fact that  a thief is also a human being. Alas! We have forgotten Hugo. Is  his name mentioned in any text book?

No wonder. It is highly inconvenient to mention his name, now that money is the supreme deity (in Malayalam the word for a billionaire is KODEESWARAN !). How else can we explain public linching of a poor harijan boy in front of TV cameras? If we claim to be humanists, we should have intervened to save the poor boy. Let us re-read Hugo. The word criminal must be deleted from dictionary.

We are all fallible. I used to travel in DTC bus, paying the minimum fare, until I was caught. Did I earn money this way? It is just human tendency to enjoy any gain, howsoever pitifully trivial it may be! Yet I am not a miser. We have to continuously improve our own thinking, attitude, outlook and behaviour. (To thine own conscience, be true). The system should help us to become a true gentleman, in every sense of the term! Wash away the criminal in me. Lockup, police brutality and the jail will only make me a hardened criminal. Parents and teachers have empowered themselves to beat a child whose sole parent is God. Will He be happy with our conduct?

A pick pocket or smuggler is let away with light punishment. Their patrons are in the good books of the police. Does the system have any way of reforming a criminal? The latter is just a tool .There is no law for punishing the real villain who works behind the scene. This aspect has to be taken care of.

In the proposed set up, a team of dedicated people will conduct a thorough probe into all aspects of even a petty crime and recommend measures to eradicate it forever. If only an individual is concerned, he can be given work of cleaning the gutter, removing garbage or some such useful work. Jails can be converted into schools. Hardened criminals  can be chained like slaves and made to work hard.

The investigating team should be headed by a judge (A retired one may be preferred).

The members of the team must be well trained, thoroughly honest and dedicated. The whole department could be under the control of the Chief Justice of India and function independently, without interference from any quarter. All proceedings must be video recorded, but the proceedings must be  in camera, lest others involved may know what is happening and arm themselves accordingly. The culprit shall remain in humane custody. No bail, even if the crime is trivial. The whole lot of lawyers should be asked to go home and tend cattle!

At present they work only to distort or delay the investigation and save the culprit for the sake of money. How do we tolerate this brazen miscarriage of justice?

APPOINTMENTMENT OF JUDGES

Like the election commission, there shall be a permanent judicial commission. Appointment of judges will follow the same pattern as that of MPs (see Democratic Disfunction).T he judges too should work hard from 8 am to 6 pm every day, with weekly holiday by rotation; but they will get suitable salary because they are not elected by the people.

Even a shadow of suspicion shall debar him .Once appointed, he should work for life time, without any age limit, so long as he is healthy and willing to work .Transfer and promotion etc. must also be decided by the commission.

They may be removed any moment, if proved to be incompetent or unhealthy or on grounds for suspicion; otherwise they can serve indefinitely as in the US.(Their system is better in all respects. If their system is a motor car, ours is a bullock cart, with one wheel broken and the animal unable to pull !)

Any person, not necessarily an aggrieved one, on the basis of news ,a first information report may be lodged even by e:mail  The concerned judge shall immediately start investigation ,assisted by CIDs, police etc., but in strict secrecy .Any person may be arrested, including witnesses who shall remain in custody till investigation is over.The people detained must not be allowed to meet each other. All questioning shall be video recorded in the presence of the judge. Refusal to answer a question will be treated as confession .

The judgement shall be given then and there .

The whole system must function independently, without  interference from any quarter. Nobody will even come to know ; how can they meddle ?

The policemen must be like elder brothers to the citizens, in the model of the English police.

A 22-year veteran of the Maui Police Department was promoted this week to the rank of Captain.  Dean Rickard, earned the 2007 County of Maui Team of the Year award while serving in his most recent pot as Commander of the Plans & Training Section.  Rickard takes on his new post as Captain and District Commander of the Molokai Patrol District on December 1^st.

22-year MPD veteran Dean Rickard is promoted to the rank of Captain.

Capt. Rickard began his career with the Maui Police Department on November 2, 1987.  As a Police Officer, he was assigned to the Lahaina Patrol District and Vice Division’s Narcotics Section.  His assignments as a Sergeant was in the Communications Section’s Receiving Desk, Wailuku Patrol District and the Criminal Intelligence Unit.  He was also assigned as a detective in the Criminal Investigation Division.

Captain Rickard graduated from Lahainaluna High School in 1982 and he later attended and graduated from Chadron State College in Nebraska in 1987.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice.

He’s married to wife Stephanie, and together they have three children, daughter Tekiri (20) a nursing student at the University of Hawaii-Hilo, son Teanu (16) and daughter Teani (8).

A.K.A. Final Fantasy II circa 1991.

MOST.  AWESOME.  GAME.  Ever ….

Anyone who has ever played this game…. SNES, perhaps?… will know what I’m saying. Better than Myst. Better than Nethack (I just keep dying). Better than Sims. Arguments can commence now, but in my experience… FFIV is the most enjoyable game I’ve ever played.

So much so that I’m searching a working SNES console and the original cartridge for FFII. on eBay of course. A few years ago, you could find a SNES for $20. Now, I think it’s going for over $50. A hefty sum for an outdated system.

Anyway, Final Fantasy II or IV (as released on the Nintendo DS with updated graphics) has an amazing storyline with the most memorable characters ever. Remember when Cecil becomes a Paladin? Remember Palom and Parom? Kain? Tellah? Rosa? Rydia? I wanted to name my future child Rydia when I was 7 years old. And of course… the Chocobos.

Oh, yeah… and the music is absolutely phenomenal.

I can’t get into the story because there is too much and to talk about it wouldn’t do it justice. Playing the game, however, would. Just watch this video:

Uma paciente que sofre de diabetes e teve um derrame nos vasos sanguíneos dos olhos ganhou o direito de ter seu tratamento custeado pelo Estado do Rio Grande do Norte. A decisão, publicada no Diário da Justiça de hoje, é da juíza de direito substituta da 3ª Vara da Fazenda Pública de Natal, Dra. Aline Daniele Belém Cordeiro Lucas.

Na ação, J.L.R. alegou que é portadora de diabetes há cerca de 20 anos e com a evolução da doença sofreu um derrame nos vasos sanguíneos dos olhos, recebendo o diagnóstico de “Retinopatia Diabética Proliferativa” – CID H36.0, H35.2, H54.1 e, necessita realizar tratamento através do procedimento VITRECTOMIA e para tanto precisa tomar uma dose do medicamento AVASTIN 100 MG, bem como vitamina OE.

Porém, em razão do alto custo do medicamento – R$ 1.631,12 -, buscou a justiça para fazer valer o seu direito à saúde. Sustentou seu pedido no direito constitucional à saúde. Depois da fundamentação, requereu liminar a fim de que o Estado forneça o medicamento AVASTIN 100 mg, que necessita, confirmando tal medida no mérito.

Para a juíza, a Constituição da República, em seu art. 196, diz que a saúde é “direito de todos e dever do Estado”, o que deverá ser garantido através de políticas públicas que possibilitem o acesso universal e igualitário às ações e serviços. A Constituição Estadual, por sua vez, em seu art. 125, diz que “a saúde é direito de todos e dever do Estado, garantido mediante políticas sociais e econômicas que visem a redução do risco de doença e de outros agravos e ao acesso universal e igualitário as ações e serviços para sua promoção, proteção e recuperação”.

De acordo com a magistrada, a dever da Administração de adquirir os medicamentos necessários ao atendimento de pessoas carentes e portadoras de doenças raras, bem como de pessoas que necessitam de tratamento continuado, imposto pela Constituição, não pode ser inviabilizado através de entraves burocráticos ou qualquer outra justificativa, como argumentado pelo Estado a ausência de previsão orçamentária, pois o que a Constituição impõe é a obrigatoriedade do Estado de garantir a saúde das pessoas, seja através de uma boa e eficiente qualidade do serviço de atendimento, seja pela aquisição de medicamentos.

Assim, observou que ficou evidente o direito da autora a receber o medicamento AVASTN 100 Mg, às custa do réu, para realizar o procedimento médico necessário para o restabelecimento de seu estado de saúde. Com isso, J.L.R. receberá o medicamento AVASTIN 100 Mg, na forma e quantidade especificada pelo seu médico. (Processo nº 001.09.017661-9)

É mole? O cara passa a noite toda na chuparinagem, no bem bom, ao lado da nega dele, fica com ressaca pós-sexo intenso, e agora vem me pedir atestado? Pô, quando perco noite de plantão, trabalhando, não corro atrás de atestado para faltar no trabalho no dia seguinte, quanto mais se essa noite foi perdida com putêtê ou algo do gênero. A que ponto pode chegar a cara-de-pau do brasileiro, hein?
