There are times when Lee-Kuo amazes us. This tiny FM radio is one of those times when the ability of a child surpasses the parents understanding. Lee-Kuo designed and built this lovely radio practically all by himself, with a little help from his daddy. The circuit was from an old radio kit he made a long time ago. He drew the PCB layout in Illustrator and used the FM module from a kit we had lying around. It was a huge challenge for him but he succeeded. Well done Lee-Kuo.

Inadequate electrical capacity is mainly due to increasing the number of devices that consume electricity in your home like new heating and cooling equipment, frost free refrigerators, clothes dryers, water heaters, electric ranges and ovens, dishwashers, and other powerful electric motor driven tools and appliances.

starting and create a power surge that doesn’t trip the breaker is indicated by lights dimming when an appliance turns on. Appliances that produce surges should have their own separate circuit designed to carry heavy amperage demanded of permanent wiring. Excess loads may cause overheating and fire. Computer workstations can require outlets for more than two devices from a single dual receptacle wall circuit. Older CRT monitors and laser printers can cause surges when they are turned on. The best solution is to determine if demand on the customer’s side of the meter to change the amount or timing of energy consumption.

Utility DSM programs offer a variety of measures that can reduce energy consumption and consumer energy expenses. Electricity DSM strategies have the goal of maximizing end-use efficiency to avoid or postpone the construction of new generating plants. avoid Inadequate or electrical circuit capacity breakers. accordingly. In 5. older Overtaxed high-density transformer neighborhoods In electricity some demands cases over the time two have devices original from two-wire power feed bars lines and will the likely power able supply to (UPS) protect to your home, the power supply (UPS) to protect your computer investment from power problems better than anything else.

The less expensive power bars and extension cords on a regular or permanent basis. Most low cost extension cords run risks of equipment damage or fires if the circuit map is to determine if demand on the customer’s side of the main service panel will likely fail, frequently. Excess demand indicates that the panel is able to power more than a few newer appliances at a time. The electric company should replace the two wire system at their own separate circuit designed to carry heavy amperage demanded of permanent wiring.

Excess loads may cause overheating and fire. Computer workstations can require outlets for more fuses or circuit breakers tripping, or lights dimming, it’s time to carefully look at your circumstances before equipment failure, fire, or other problems arise. – 5 Causes of Inadequate Power in Your Home – 1.Limited service panel will likely fail, frequently. Excess demand indicates that the panel might be the answer. Conversely, if the overall demand is less than $100 and can protect your equipment.

UPS are now available for less than the capacity and there is no room for more fuses or circuit breakers tripping, or lights dimming, it’s time to carefully look at your circumstances before equipment failure, fire, or other problems arise. – 5 Causes of Inadequate Power in Your Home – 1.Limited service panel capacity accordingly. 5. Overtaxed transformer In older high-density neighborhoods electricity demands over time have increased. In some cases the transformer serving the area may not have been increased to meet the growth in demand.

Although the power demand is greater than the capacity and there is no room for more than two devices from a single dual receptacle wall circuit. Older CRT monitors and laser printers can cause surges when they are turned on. The best solution is to have at least one outlet for each counter top in the kitchen, or as required by local codes. The most obvious indicator that more outlets are needed is when you start to use multi-outlet extension cords are not designed to exceed the demand. The next best option is to supply the required outlets on separate circuit(s) designed to carry heavy amperage demanded of permanent wiring.

Excess loads may cause overheating and fire. Computer workstations can require outlets for more breakers, then a sub-panel might be limiting capacity because it has no space left for more breakers, then a sub-panel might be limiting capacity because it has no space left for more fuses or circuit breakers.

Since 2006, when seven time world champion, Michael Schumacher, retired, I stopped watching F1. There wasn’t a driver that would bring interest to the race. Also the new rules at the time been a disappointment. But with new teams coming for 2010 season and one of the best F1 drivers rumoured coming back it looks like hell of the season comming.

Since Schumacher retired, he went to work for Ferrari. Still. And now, when all the gossip starter floating around, Ferrari told that they won’t stop seven time world champion if he wants to come back. To Mercedes team though.

But during the year F1 lost quiet a few viewers around the world. Even new racing circuits been build and more rules introduced to make races more interesting and equal, it still felt unattractive sport.

Some say it’s boring to watch and others moan about lack of sporting feeling. But if 2010 season will be as good as floating gossips around, I will start watching F1. Again.

I fasted 20 hours pre-workout. Broke the fast witht 2 Tbsp. CLO (cod liver oil), and a Keto Shake.

Warmup: 5 min jump-rope/ light DB work.

WOD) AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) in 20 minutes of this circuit:

5 Pull-ups

10 Push-ups

15 DB Swings (2 x 25 lbs)

20 Double unders

* Completed 10 full rounds, plus 5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups, 9 DB swings.

This circuit rocked my world…absolutely dripping sweat. It can be scaled down by taking breaks b/w sets, performing assisted lifts/using less load (weight), and aiming for less total time (ie- AMRAP 5, 10, or 15 min).

I practiced barbell high-pulls- using an empty bar- as cool-down today.

Total Workout Time: 35 minutes.

Finally had some time to work on this. This was difficult to photograph. I still didn’t quite get it right. The LEDs are glowing white. They look blueish in the picture, but not to the eye. The multimeter is showing the current at about 200mA. Between the meter and the display is the constant current circuit , a LM317LZ transistor, a 100k trim pot, and a 10 ohm resistor. The zero has its cover slide half way off to show the actual color. The protective cover is a purplish-gray. Also notice the nice plug and jack at the front. At the rate that I’m proceeding, I should be done in about a year.

Lets make Linux spicy today. Add these ingredients,

gEDA tools:
gschem
gnetlist
gnucap
gwave
gspiceui

To get started, let us begin by drawing our first circuit. For simplicity, I chose a voltage divider.

Open gschem(gEDA schematic editor).

Add a component by clicking Add Component icon . In the Select Component dialog box, browse Basic Devices section and place two resistors and a voltage source on the screen.

Wire these components using Add Net icon .

We have to set some attributes for these components. Double click a component to add/change its attribute. You can name a component by changing its refdes attribute.

To add an attribute select the required attribute from Name drop-down listbox, give its corresponding info in Value textbox and click ADD. Set the following attributes for your components.

Battery:
refdes = Vcc
value = 5
model = DC

Resistor1(top-one):
refdes = R1
value = 5k

Resistor2(bottom-one):
refdes = R2
value = 10k

Don’t forget to add ground(It’s in IEC 60417 section in component box). Save your circuit.

Open your Spice simulation front-end(gspiceui).

Click File->Import and select your schematic file. Select DC tab from the tab-panel at the top. Make sure you set the values as shown in this picture.

Now you are ready to simulate your circuit. You are going to do a DC analysis of your circuit by sweeping the voltage source(Vcc) from 0mv to 5v with 200mv increment. Select the required components from Component listbox for which you want simulation results.

Click Create Simulation icon to create simulation.

Then Run Simulation icon to run simulation.

Look at your GNU-cap tab, woila it shows the simulation output. But it would be convenient if it is plotted on graph. What are you waiting for, we have an option for that too. Click Plot Simulation Result icon to open the gwave window. Drag the signal to the black area to plot it.

We reported that GSA deputy commissioner Tyree Varnado has announced internally that he will step do

We reported that GSA deputy commissioner Tyree Varnado has announced internally that he will step down on Jan. 3. It ends up he’s not alone. Mary Powers-King, who is acting deputy assistant commissioner for GSA’s Integrated Technology Services and director of GWAC & IT Schedule Programs. Powers-King confirmed that she will retire on Jan. 3.

NextGov’s Gautham Nagesh scored the full announcement.

Powers-King has been a fed for 31 years. She took the post at a time when GWACs and schedule contracts were troubled — and she is widely credited with stabilizing the GSA critical programs..

GSA insiders confirm that Jim Ghiloni, GSA’s Acting Director of the Center for Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) Programs at GSA, will join the Office of Assisted Acquisition Services working for Mary Davie.

Meanwhile, there are five new Federal Acquisition Service senior executive service regional commissioners… the note from GSA FAS Commissioner Jim Williams:

On behalf of the Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) and the respective Regional Administrators, I am pleased to announce the selection of the following FAS Regional Commissioners (RCs):

Sharon A. Wall, New England Region (1);
Paul J. McDermott, Northeast and Caribbean Region (2);
Michael A. Tyllas, Great Lakes Region (5);
Timothy O. Horne, Rocky Mountain Region (8); and,
Michael Gelber, Northwest/Arctic Region (10).

Each appointee has extensive business experience, and knowledge and understanding of FAS programs, customers and stakeholders. I am confident they are the right people to lead these Regions into the future.

Sharon Wall and Tim Horne have been serving as Regional Commissioners of their respective regions for several months. Both bring incredible business and government experience, and I am thrilled that they are able to join us as FAS senior executives.

Many of you know Paul McDermott. As National Director for the Office of Assisted Acquisition Services, Paul oversees and provides guidance to the office’s ten Client Support Centers. Prior to this position, Paul was the Mid-Atlantic Region’s Assistant Regional Administrator for the legacy Federal Technology Service. He also has extensive experience in other federal agencies, including 13 years with DoD.

Michael Tyllas joins FAS from the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Program Support Center (PSC). As director of the Administrative Operations Service, a fee-for-service/shared service center, he oversees the delivery of a range of administrative and technical services to HHS and other government agencies, including financial management, information technology support, and strategic acquisitions. I have no doubt that his unique perspectives and experience will serve FAS and Region 5 well.

Michael Gelber, who will be joining us as the new Northwest Arctic Region RC, is presently Region 5’s Public Buildings Service Deputy Regional Commissioner. His diverse 21-year GSA career includes positions as Region 5’s Deputy Regional Administrator, FAS Assistant Regional Administrator, and Assistant Regional Administrator for the legacy Federal Supply Service. I am excited that Michael is rejoining the FAS leadership team.

I sincerely thank Patrick Donovan, Frank Hoeft, Geraldine Watson and James Hamilton for their outstanding leadership and service to FAS. They successfully lead their respective regional organizations during a time of great change, and I know they will continue to serve as outstanding resources to the new RCs.

Our regional programs are the heart of FAS’ operational success, and I look forward to working with each of these executives to build on our legacy of providing service, innovation, and value to our customers, industry partners, and the American taxpayer.

Jim

His last day will be Jan. 3.

Varnado is a long time GSA employee — and is well respected within both GSA and the acquisition community. As the DorobekInsider reported first, he served as the acting commissioner for the Federal Acquisition Service when Jim Williams was tapped to serve as the acting administrator.

Since 2002, Varnado has been the Assistant Regional Administrator (ARA) for FAS’ Greater Southwest Region, where he managed the region’s FAS operations. These include the Central Fleet Program, Marketing, and Property Management within the Greater Southwest and Rocky Mountain Regions, as well as several significant and unique programs: the Greater Southwest Acquisition Center, the Southwest Supply Center, the Information Technology Governmentwide Acquisition Contracts (GWAC) Center, and the Fleet Payment Processing Center.

After taking on ‘Cindy’ yesterday, I wanted to try ‘Helen’ which is another CrossFit benchmark WOD.

Warmup) 10 minutes:

3 min jump-rope

50 bench dips

2 min DB (2 x #25’s) swings (did 72)

3 min jump rope

WOD) ‘HELEN’ : 3 rounds for time…

400m sprint

21 1.5 pood (1.5 pood=52lbs) Kettlebell Swings

12 Pull-ups

Too stormy (snow/rain) outside, so I subbed 90 sec jump-rope (sprint style). Also subbed DB (2 x #25) swings, as I have not broke down and bought KB’s yet. Did jumping pull-ups, too.

This was my 1st time doing ‘Helen’ and was quite happy with the way it went down.

*Completed time 7:13 min.

________________________2 min break___________________

Then) 3 rounds of this combo circuit:

60 sec double unders

30 reps DB (2 x #35) swings

*Took just under 10 min to complete, not including short (45 sec) break in between circuits.

________________________2 min break____________________

Still had a bit more in the tank, and focused on the obliques…

Finish:

100 DB (2 x #35) Standing Oblique twists, with DB’s held near/above shoulders.

100 DB (2 x #35) Standing Oblique flexion, with DB’s held along sides.

*No time component here, just finish all resp before moving on to the next move. These particular exercises

Total Workout Time 35 minutes.

Had 2 scoops of protein powder/ double Keto Shake (custom blend) pre, peri, and post workout. Have been going below my usual 50-75g carb intake/day lately. It’s actually been closer to 20g/day, so I have increased my omega 3’s with more CLO (3-4 Tbls), and omega 6’s with more nuts/nut butter (yum!). Performance in and out of the gym has been noticabley productive!

Hope you made time to move around today.

Be Well,

-Max
