Hi… I’m Cat. First post here as a new author ^^ I’m super excited to meet fellow CL fans!

I’m currently experiencing the worst PMS (Pre-menstrual syndrome). On Saturday, I was so depressed and lonely. If I hadn’t been raised a Catholic, I probably have killed myself. HAHA. I find it hilarious when I talk about the thought of suicide because I know it’s something that I would never have the courage to do. Well thank God for my strong faith. Going back to my issue of PMS, I woke up yesterday feeling extremely irritated when I remembered that I had no decent bath towel (oh so shallow! lol!). I knocked down lots of things here in the apartment because I was fuming with anger. I know it’s freaking shallow but blame it on my hormonal imbalance, okay? So anyway, I went on with my first morning ritual-surf the internet. I watched CL and Minzy’s Inkigayo performance of  “Please don’t go.” I instantly felt calmed. Tsk.. Oh well, they have that kind of amazing effect on me. So here is their performance. I hope they calm you as well!

A recent response to one of my posts questioned my statement that there were fewer trees in the world than 200 years ago, saying I had provided no proof.  This same person questioned why it was important to point out that trees breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen when discussing global warming.

This is amusing, on the face of it.  Except that there is a relentless disinformation campaign going on, funded by the companies that have the most to lose if our economy switches from fossil fuel-based to greener, less polluting energy sources.  Lest you think I’m just a paranoid conspiracy theorist, let me remind you of the tobacco companies’ example.  For years, they poured millions of dollars into denying that cigarette smoke is linked to cancer, paying scientists and PR people alike to muddy the waters.  Can we really assume that the oil, coal and gas companies are any different?  They have taken a page out of the tobacco companies’ book, and are trying to divert a solutions-focused climate change discussion.

Exxon Mobile is the largest and wealthiest corporation in the world.  Rather than retreating in the face of mounting evidence of global disaster, there is evidence that it continues to put money and effort into denial of global warming.  In 2006  Exxon was called to account before the Royal Society of London scientific body for its funding of  so-called “think tanks”, including the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI).  CEI produced commercials extolling the virtues of carbon dioxide; set to the background of sunrises and little girls blowing dandelions, the commercials state boldly “Carbon dioxide.  They call it pollution.  We call it life.” (If I can find a current link to them, I will post it.)

Obviously, carbon dioxide is a part of life.  But the CEI ad – and similar denial claims – ignore that fact that it is not carbon dioxide itself that is inherently harmful, but it is excessive discharges of the gas that scientists argue is harmful to the atmosphere. And excessive discharging of carbon dioxide is what we humans, mostly in Europe and North American, have been doing with our increased rate of fossil fuel consumption since the Industrial Revolution over 200 years ago.

In “Climate Change Cover-Up”, James Hoggan and Richard Littlemore offer this analogy:

Would you trust an unqualified lifeguard, or one with vested interests, with your life, and that of your children and grandchildren?

We all know that the 4minute girls have great figures. It’s no longer news to us that not only are they great performers; they also have sexy bodies/figures that we admire.

The public apparently is noticing it too with two articles coming out talking about Hyun Ah and Ga Yoon and their figures.

We have Hyun Ah who is considered as a Female “Abs” Idol.

Apparently “abs” can no longer be associated exclusively with male idols or the males in particular. Their innocent looks might not match it but female idols are now emerging and showing that they too have these abs.

Hyun Ah is one such example. In each of the performance of the 4minute girls, we see Hyun Ah wearing outfits that accentuate her slim waist and sleek abs.

A Cube representative has stated that “Hyun Ah has undergone a longer period of training compared to the other girls due to her also being a former member of Wonder Girls. Her intense practice over the years has resulted to her having a beautiful waistline now.”

Other female idols whose abs is also being noticed are Nicole of Kara and CL of 2NE1.

Yun Sang Yeon, a trainer at H Fitness Center has said “These girls over a short period of time have developed the abs that was the result of the intense training and dance practices. “ For the girls it’s not a six pack abs that they get, instead they get a V-line that gives them a very sexy feel.

And then we have Ga Yoon who is named as a coy/quiet glamour female star.

A recent trend blowing into the entertainment world is glamour. When looking at just their outward appearance the element of sameness is there for the female stars, they are sexy. But through red carpet appearances as well as certain pictures from pictorials, it enables one to distinguish what makes them different from each other. There are three types of glamour the innocent or pure glamour, the cute glamour and the coy or quiet glamour. (T/N: I think what is being said here is that because of their red carpet appearance as well as pictures from their pictorials – how the stars dresses and carry themselves gives them that distinguishing factor from other female stars.)

Ga Yoon belongs to the coy/quiet glamour as most idol girl group members belong to.

These people although idols, their fresh appearance does not hide their sexy figures. Gain of Brown Eyed Girls, Ga Yoon of 4minute and Nam Gyu Ri are good examples of this type of glamour.

Ga Yoon’s costumes might not reveal much, but it can’t also hide her great figure in particular her chest. Therefore she receives the “best idol glamour” title thanks to a big discussion that was collected.

The other glamour types discussed are pure glamour – innocent and elegant in appearance. A female star that is equipped with a beautiful figure but the outward appearance is very pure and innocent. Stars identified under this type are Shin Se Kyung, Son Ye-Jin and Nam Sang Mi.

Cute glamour is the look of a cute woman with a mature body. A beautiful figure but childlike in appearance which gives it a reverse effect. Female stars that falls under this type are Park Shin Hye, Seo Woo and Choe Seul Kki,

unfortunately,  no SM or Pledis artists were present.

But, moving on.

2NE1’s Minzy/Minji and CL, came out with a single “Please don’t go”, and I am absolutely in love with that song.

As you all know, many of the kpop artists have been infected with Swine Flu, or H1N1. For example, SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong,  2AM’s Jo Kwon and JinWoon, and Lee Seung Gi. Well, we now have more names to add to the list.  Such as SHINee’s Taemin, F(x)’s Amber, Krystal and Sulli , Kim Joon, and MBLAQ’S Lee Joon and Thunder.

So yeah, Kpop artists need to take care of them selves.
