First, here’s the original text from the book as a reference:

大陸を統べる現女王。女王を決める闘技会クイーンズブレイド最後戦で敗れたが、優勝者が辞退したため女王となった。かつては“雷雲の将”と呼ばれ、公明正大で誰からも尊敬される清廉な人物だったが、女王になるや自らを神に選ばれしの女王であると宣言し、クイーンズブレイドを廃止した。

“魔導石”技術の研究に力を入れ、文明の急速な進行に成功。また伝統的な貴族制を無力化し、生まれを問わず豊かになる機会を民に与えた。

しかし女王となり、その厳格さが度を越したクローデットは、無慈悲な君主となった。法を犯した者は容赦なく罰せられ、逆らう勢力は強大な軍事力により完膚なきまで滅ぼされる世の到来である。また一説には大陸支配をもくろむ邪悪な“沼地の魔女”と取引しているも言われている。

彼女の電光をまとった魔法の剣“サンダークラップ”は健在。さらに魔導石の力で剣を用いなくても雷の力を操れるようになった。

And then, here’s the translation:

The Queen that rules the Continent. She was defeated at the semifinals of Queen’s Blade, the tournament to decide the Queen, but became the Queen because the champion refused the throne. Once known as the “Thundercloud General”, she was respected as an honest, just and upright person, but after she became the Queen, she proclaimed herself as chosen by the Gods and abolished Queen’s Blade.

She encouraged the research of the “Wizard Stones” technology and the civilization progressed very quickly with the effort. She also invalidated the traditional aristocrat system to give a chance of prosperity to all the people regardless of their birth.

However, by becoming the Queen, Claudette’s strictness increased and she turned into a ruthless ruler. Those who break the law are punished without mercy and the forces of the opposition are completely obliterated by a powerful military force. There is also a rumor that she has dealings with the wicked “Marshland Witch” who plans to take over the Continent.

Claudette’s magic lightning sword “Thunderclap” is at its best. Also with the power of the Wizard Stones, she can manipulate the lightning without even readying the sword.

We had such a wonderful time with our guests last Sunday, and loved sharing great food, “THE SWAGGER” (Malibu + 7UP) and other *FREE* themed cocktails, gift bags, and of course incredible performances from The House of Monroe, Wolf J & Ayo Leilani. Watching mouths drop on the floor during both of these unbelievable performances was almost as enjoyable as watching the performances themselves!

As you read this, I’m in New Orleans, celebrating the wedding of my dear friend Nicole.  Turns out her middle name is Rhunette.  Let’s see if I can work in a subtle inquiry about that one in between “congratulations” and “yes, I’d love some more champagne!”

In any case, this is my first trip away without a laptop since … wow.  Since forever.  I can’t decided if it will be more disorienting to be away without kids or away without connectivity.

Either way, if there are any last minute celeb births or wacky news stories ’bout kids with wild names, I’m missing them.  

Still, I thought you might enjoy a few things:

• Bewildertrix did a great sum-up of Old School Actresses.  Why aren’t Claudette and Theda heard more often;
• Also from the Wayback Machine, Namberry reviewed names from Dallas and Dynasty.  Here’s the answer if you ever wondered who we had to thank for all of those girls called Jordan; 
• Laura Wattenberg asks if the conventional wisdom related to gender neutral names is over.  Me, I say yes.  While many names are still clearly gendered, I can imagine Kelly being reclaimed for boys, while names like Riley and Payton could remain in gender limbo indefinitely.  It’s not a bad thing, necessarily;
• Amy Ryan – she played Holly on The Office – has welcomed a daughter, Georgia Gracie;
• Coronation Street’s Samia Smith welcomed a daughter, Freya.  Other Coronation Street cast babies from 2009 include Alfie, Nyla, Rafal and Daisy.

I’ll be listening for unusual baby names over my vacation – and, of course, thinking about Tiana, the soon-to-be newest member of the Disney Princess Mafia, in the New Orleans-based story The Princess and the Frog.

I’m very happy to see Cattleya being featured in this fifth ova, but pity she is too busy with her cooking. To make things worst, even Nanael didnt strip. Here goes the second last ova and may the sixth and final one will have Echidna or Listy in it. This list is the same concept as the Olde Boys list, but it will be considerably shorter as it is more fashionable for a girl to have an old lady name than a boy to have an old man name. Don’t know why, but I do know teenage boys and they can get quite creative if your son is named Dick. Once again, these aren’t bad names and I like most of them, but they just don’t fit the times.
