Frustrating! – Scott A. Marshall –
We had a bit smaller version of this for years and LOVED it!! This one looks prettier but it is harder to use. We always steamed milk right in our mug before but with this one it is almost impossible to do because it immediately foams over and makes a huge mess. It does not adjust to steam/froth so you just get froth! It drives me crazy! I would rather have the other Capresso that is a bit smaller but worked great. If you never steam milk I suppose the espresso part works fine. I don’t like it

A CLEANER who was mistakenly paid £36,000 managed to spend £17,000 of it within just two days.

Catherine McLean, 39, didn’t question her boss when the bumper pay packet landed in her bank account on April 2.

By April 4 she had spent almost half of the cash clearing her debts, but was stopped in her tracks when her employer realised the blunder.

But when the Edinburgh woman said she could only give him back £19,000, he called police.

McLean, of the city’s Broomhouse Gardens appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Friday) charged with stealing £17,000 from an address in the nearby Broomhouse Crescent.

She admitted the charge and was given time to pay back the money.

Fiscal Depute Aidan Higgins said: “Her employer is a private businessman.

“He was conducting online banking and carried out various transactions and mistakenly transferred into her account a total of £36,000.

“It appears that she spent it paying outstanding debts and various ATM withdrawals.

“When her employer realised the mistake, he contacted the accused to arrange for the return of the £36,000.

“The accused was only in a position to return £19,000.

“That being so the accused’s employer contacted the police.”

McLean’s defence agent Jim Stephenson said: “She has sold her house and the proceeds won’t be processed until January.

“It may be that the £17,000 won’t be repaid until then.”

Sheriff Derrick McIntyre agreed to defer sentence, but added: “Naturally this money will have to be repaid.”

You have looked at those automatic pool cleaners at the pool supply store and wondered do these real

You have looked at those automatic pool cleaners at the pool supply store and wondered do these really work? How about time will it save me time in the long run? Is, vacuum cleaner, it really worth the money? We will try and explain, vacuum cleaner, some of the myths and misconceptions, vacuum cleaner,, vacuum cleaner, surrounding these automatic pool cleaners so you can make an informed decision before you buy.

There are, vacuum cleaner, several types of pool cleaners on the market today e will start with the suction side cleaners. They connect to the pool filter via a hose usually attached to a special fitting or directly into the pool skimmer he pools pump supplies the vacuum to operate the cleaner and provide filtration.

Pressure side cleaners fall into one of two categories the first type connects again via a hose to the pools return line this returning water, vacuum cleaner, pressure supplies power to the cleaner that usually swims around, vacuum cleaner, at the surface of the pool and has a long tail that directs water and thus debris into a bag this is one benefit the debris is filtered out prior to entering the filter system. The other pressure side cleaner uses a booster pump to supply power to the cleaner this type also utilizes a tail that whips around the pool causing the debris and other fine particles to float up so they can be sucked up by t he main filter system.

There are also two different kinds of robotic pool cleaners these both use self contained motors. The first type has a motor that drives the wheels or tracks this enables the bot to crawl around the poll it contains a second motor that vacuums up dirt and stores it in a bag or filter much like a self propelled home vacuum cleaner., vacuum cleaner, The second type of robot uses one motor that simply drives the bot around the pool using jets of water to stir up the pool and allow, vacuum cleaner, the dirt to be taken away by the pool filtration system. There is also a hand held rechargeable vacuum on the market today that hooks on a pole and allows the user to spot clean any area that, vacuum cleaner, is needed.

The final type of pool cleaner is also the most expensive to install but is almost maintenance free and works very well if it is planned out and installed properly it is the in floor system. The in floor system has many small pop up jets similar to a sprinkler system, vacuum cleaner, the jets pop up in a certain pattern and direct the dirt and debris towards the main drain to be caught by the filter. This system is usually incorporated into new pool construction.

This is an excellent item for the ipod. I’m using this with the 80GB classic and it works like a charm. The range is great and I haven’t had any glitches, lack of reception or radio interference.
Keep in mind that the receiver is powered by the ipod, so when not in use, you’ll want to remover the receiver so you don’t drain your battery. It doesn’t make a significant impact on play time when in use, but you will see your power drop if you just let it site for hours at a time.
All in all, a great product.
Plus the watch works well in that respect as well. It’s easy to read, super bright when you need the light, and the alarm will actually wake me up. It’s also sealed to 328 feet, so you don’t have to worry about the weather or diving. Just don’t use the buttons underwater.
I love that I don’t have to worry about my ipod getting wet when roaming the streets of Seattle anymore. Keeping it in a jacket pocket or slot in my bag while controlling it via the watch works perfectly. I’d definitely recommend this.

It took 464 days after she was first remanded, but our cleaning lady finally (yesterday 20 November

It took 464 days after she was first remanded, but our cleaning lady finally (yesterday 20 November 2009) got her just deserts for the attempted murder of our neighbour: an indeterminate sentence because she is a danger to the public and a tariff of 15 years.

Cardiff Recorder judge Nicholas Cooke QC had said this was a complex sentence and asked the CPS counsel to explain to us exactly what it meant.

If Linda Griffiths had been judged as just evil and not dangerous she could expect with this tariff to be out of prison in about six years (half the 15 years less the time on remand). As he judged her to be a public danger, the best she can hope for is to try to prove to the Parole Board at the time that she is no longer dangerous and ask for a time to be set for release: no automatic exit then!

As I have previously written, this is a case which has stretched credibility in the legal system in ways that no one – other than, presumably, the guilty defendant – could have been happy with. As hearing after hearing was thwarted, sentencing and closure of the case, seemed always out of grasp. But something happened late on Thursday and suddenly the judge said he would hold the sentencing hearing on Friday. Of course, the court itself was unprepared for this, but the two barristers – both CPS and defence – seemed united in trying to get the case completed.

It was only when Patrick Harrington QC for the prosecution started to describe the crime in dispassionate, articulated detail that the real horror of it all came back to us. Then the mass of detailed police leg-work, rightly commended by the judge: first the collections of photographs showing the accused’s progress across Cardiff, first to commit the crime, then to get rid of her clothes and set up her alibi. I am wholly against the intrusion of CCTV cameras, but here they gave the essential evidence to prove planning and execution.

Then a file of forensic evidence – accepted by the defence team so the detail didn’t have to be revealed – directly linking Griffith’s dna with blood splattered clothing and the crime scene. Now we knew why the police had been so confident that even if she had pleaded not guilty they would have got a conviction.

You can read the details if you want here and here. But two things the judge picked up that really need emphasising: firstly this evil woman betrayed trust, not just of this victim, but of all of us who gave her our house keys, left valuables, pets and children in her path. She was able to claim in court ‘hitherto unblemished character’; those of us who had employed – and mostly sacked her – thought this was odd. We all have stories of suspected theft unresolved: the police view was that following each of these up would not have been a good use of resources. In the event, she was sentenced to six months for theft and six counts of fraud connected with the assault.

The judge highlighted the trust issue when determining the tariff and also added: “I must have regard to the fact that the elderly are terrified by offending of this kind”. Indeed. At the time we started escorting friends home, helped fit safety chains. A real terror inhabited the streets where before there had been nothing but security.

So we have all been victims of this one crime. Of course the left-for dead 77 year old will have lasting mental scars in spite of a remarkable physical recovery. We have all lost a sense of trust: are we really going to CRB check cleaning ladies? And it wouldn’t have prevented this crime anyway.

For many our comfortable community will no longer be so much taken for granted.

Any good outcomes? Recognition of the bravery of the local councillor who discovered the battered pensioner – only now did we learn that she had been terrified the assailant was still in the house. Recognition of the relentless work of the police – much of it tedious, boring and forensic that built a cast iron case to be deployed if she changed her guilty plea.

And some vicarious pride in the judicial system that – even after 464 days – finally locked away an evil person that we had known.

I always recommend my lady friends who’re housewives or working mums to get a steam cleaner for more

I always recommend my lady friends who’re housewives or working mums to get a steam cleaner for more effective house cleaning. Often they will take my advice because a steam cleaner really does the job much better than the usual hand scrubbing!

Here’s why you might want to buy a steam cleaner:

Affordable

Steam cleaner makes use of heated water for cleaning purposes.

It is less expensive than using soap, detergents and cleaning agents.

One of my customers who was on the lookout for a really low budget steam cleaner fell in love with ToolsNow Electric Steam Cleaner.

More Effective

The steam cleaner usually looks like vacuum cleaners but, do be careful as they can get really hot (heated vapor!).

The water needs to be heated to as high as 200 degrees in order for the steam cleaner to clean your desired area effectively.

The heated vapor can get through surfaces much better since it will break the bond of the stain and dirt, hence being more efficient than vacuum cleaners.

Alternatively, dry steam can be produced which allows you to spray it on surfaces before wiping the dirt away with an ordinary towel.

A top end household steam cleaner is SteamFast Canister Steam Cleaner.

Safer/ Less Chemicals

Generally, standard cleaning equipments will utilize cleansing chemicals to ensure clean and hygienic surfaces.

Now, whether you have a family or not, these may be harmful to us, endangering our lungs and perhaps even our brains!

Steam cleaners do not make use of any chemicals.

In fact, the heat itself can prevent the growth and development of viruses and germs!

An environmental enthusiast told us he was impressed with SteamFast SF-275 SteamMax Steam Cleaner.

No Smell

ALL and I mean, ALL my customers are 100% satisfied with the odorless after effect (since there will be no strong chemical odor after cleaning)!

Versatility

Whether you want to use it for home or for commercial use, it is your choice!

It can be used for carpet, hard floor, foul odor by pet urine, stains in restaurants, schools, medical facilities, colleges, mirrors, sliding glass doors, car windows, kitchen sinks, bathroom, anywhere!

All steam cleaners have this advantage but if you would like to take a look at one such example, ‘Hot Shot’ Pressurized Steam Cleaner is worth your while.

Visit our website http://HealWithOil.com for more information on pure therapeutic-grade essential oils and how to use them in your home!

Essential oils contain some of the most powerful anti-bacterial properties nature has to offer. Instead of using harsh and sometimes toxic chemicals in your home for cleaning, here is a nice alternative for cleaning your bathroom and kitchen. What’s nice about this blend is its healthy for you and creates a beautiful scent for your home, not to mention it is cheaper than the strong chlorine detergents you find in the grocery store.

This neat recipe was found on http://AfricianImports.com.

Here’s what you need to do:

Fill a pump-spray bottle with with 500ml of distilled water, and add the following essential oils:

5 drops cinnamon essential oil
5 drops eucalyptus essential oil
5 drops lemongrass essential oil
5 drops lavender essential oil
5 drops tea tree essential oil

Keep in mind, these essential oils can be mixed and matched. If you only have lemongrass, just use lemongrass! The tea tree oil is mandatory, as this is where you will get the most powerful antibacterial qualities. However the other four oils can be mixed and matched. For example, if you only have lemongrass, just use 5 drops of tea tree oil and 20 drops of lemongrass, etc,..

Shake your mixture well before each use. Spray every day to keep your bathroom smelling fresh and clean. Your bathroom will not only look fresh and polished, but it will have a rich, refreshing smell that you can only find with pure, essential oils.

There are many good brands, vacuum cleaner, of vacuum cleaners on the market today. Because there ar

There are many good brands, vacuum cleaner, of vacuum cleaners on the market today. Because there are so many options, it can be difficult to determine which vacuum cleaner is right for a person. This can lead to the purchase of vacuum cleaners that will not do what a person needs them to do. It can also lead to paying way too much money for features and benefits that are not, vacuum cleaner, needed. The price of a vacuum cleaner is important, but so are other issues surrounding the purchase. Individuals who are looking to buy a new vacuum cleaner want to consider many things before they make a purchase, and there are several ways that they can do this. Some, however, are easier than others. A person should choose whichever way he or she thinks is best for finding the right brand of vacuum.

One way to find the right vacuum cleaner for a person’s needs is to go to many different stores and shops, comparing the brands of vacuums. Things to look at include the price, the brand name, and the attachments. Other considerations are the motor size, the cleaning path, and what kind of warranty the machine has. All of these can affect whether a person buys a particular vacuum cleaner. While some people will be more concerned with a specific issue than others, most people look at more than one factor. Price and motor size might be the main concerns for one person. Cleaning path and attachments might be more important to someone else. No matter what a person needs, there, vacuum cleaner, are always many different choices.

One of the most important choices that a person will make regarding a vacuum cleaner,, vacuum cleaner, though, is the brand. Each vacuum brand offers various things to consumers. There are still many people who feel that vacuum cleaners are all the same. However, most people think that this is no longer the case. Diversification has come to the vacuum cleaner field. This has allowed different brands to do things their way. Many of the vacuum cleaners that are offered today are indeed similar. Despite this, though, the differences are there, if a person takes the time to notice them. Some of these differences are very important to various consumers. For people who feel that these things are important, each vacuum cleaner company is able to target a specific market.

There are brands that offer more upright vacuums, and brands that turn their attention to canister vacuums instead. In addition, there are brands that offer many bagless vacuum models. Some other, vacuum cleaner, brands are not as interested in those models, and they offer more of the bagged variety of vacuum cleaners. In addition, there are brands that claim they will not lose suction, and brands that state they have better warrantees than others. It can, vacuum cleaner, be difficult to find what one is looking for. With the advent of the Internet, however, it has become much easier. Instead of going to all of those stores, a person can search online, do comparisons, and find what he or she wants. From there, it is a matter of determining which store has it for the best price – which can also be done online – and then simply going to that store and making a purchase.

There are basically four types of steam cleaners: 1. Traditional (Humid but Cool Steam) Cleaner This

There are basically four types of steam cleaners:

1. Traditional (Humid but Cool Steam) Cleaner
This type of steam cleaner can generate steam without boiling water. So, the steam will not be as hot but the steam will be more humid as it can hold more water.

The common apparatus included would be a boiler, container, hose and brushes. Note that this type of cleaner should be used to clean floors.

How is it used to clean? The warm water is spread on the dirty surface while the revolving brushes scrub the surface before the dirty water is collected into a container. This cleaner should mostly rely on steam and brushes to ensure thorough cleaning.

2. Vapor (Dry but Hot) Steam Cleaner
This type boils water usually above 260 degrees. The steam created would be very hot but it has a very low humidity steam, creating what people call, dry steam because the surface will dry as soon as it is cleaned.

The common apparatus included would be a container with a heater, a hose and a nozzle.

How is it used to clean? The water is boiled in the tank which then produces dry steam. The steam is looses the dirt and stains on the dirty surface through the hose and nozzle. Thereafter, the vacuum cleaner can aid the cleaning up of the surface.

We have tried and found that Shark Ultra Steam Blaster – S3325 is a good bet!

Vapor Steam Cleaner vs Traditional Cleaners
We pitted both type of cleaners against each other and after much deliberation with our customers, we have come to the conclusion as to why the advantages of vapor steam cleaner outweigh traditional cleaners!

Pros of Vapor Steam Cleaners

Vapor steam cleaner leaves less moisture on the surface (great for carpets and allergic people).

Less scrubbing since the extreme heat can sanitize the surface effectively.

Little water needed to produce plenty of steam.

Easy to clean ceilings.

Safe (no use of chemicals).

3. Carpet Steam Vapor Cleaners
No more spending tons of money for a professional carpet cleaner! Just look for a high quality rug steam cleaner, and it should work as effectively as a professional carpet cleaner.

We found that steam cleaners like this are becoming very popular because they can do a very thorough job without much dampness afterwards. Even though carpets absorb water easily, vapor steam cleaner leaves very little moisture on the surface, meaning the carpet can be dry in no time!

4. Handheld Steam Cleaners (Portable)
As the name itself tells you, handheld steam cleaners have the advantage of being smaller and easier to carry around. Mind you, it is not just girls but guys as well who find this handheld steam cleaner useful! Why waste brawns when you have a machine to do your job?

Naturally, they will be less powerful than your regular steam cleaner but this type of steam cleaner is great for those on a budget and/or for those who only look to perform smaller jobs on smaller areas.

First and foremost, turn off your exterior faucets valves from the inside, open the faucet to drain the water and remove garden hoses. If these valves are left open the water inside the pipe near the exterior can freeze and expand causing the pipe to burst, when it warms above freezing the ice will melt and you will have water running into the interior of your home until it is turned off. Even if you have ‘frost-proof’ faucets it is still important to turn them off from inside of your home. They can freeze and burst, usually in the valve itself, so you will not know this has happened until you turn the faucet on in the spring. If you do not have an interior shut off valve we recommend that you place an insulated cover over the faucet which can be purchased at your local hardware store.

Clean Leaves and Debris from your Gutters. Once the leaves have fallen, clean your gutters and downspouts. Plugged gutters and downspouts can cause water to seep in next to the foundation and cause basement flooding. Many insurance companies do not cover water damage from seepage. Make sure your downspouts run at least six feet from the foundation, and your landscaping is slopped away from your foundation for at least six feet.

Clean you sump pump pit. Once the ground has frozen, remove your sump pump and clean the pit it sits in. Sand and silt will accumulate in the bottom of the pit and can reduce the life of the pump. Replace the pump and check for proper operation of the float. When water is flowing in the pit in the spring is not a good time to find it is malfunctioning.
