Well, let’s just say that the debate was a HUGE SURPRISE! Given the way that I have watched the media savage Hillary Clinton, and the way that they seemed to be trying to do that to Palin as well, lately, I was curious.

She was truimphant in this debate. This is the first year that I am going to vote Republican for two reasons. One, John McCain, because I think he is the only HONEST politician in WASHINGTON, and two, the issues that they are talking about make sense to me. For me, this election is all about being an AMERICAN.

I like being one. I was born here, and I’m a Native Californian. Last night I took copious notes because I wanted to see how Biden (who represents my party’s “ideology” ) stacked up against Palin, my new pick in the wake of the Hillary Clinton debacle.

You see, you have no idea how much the Democratic Party let down the feminist set by their actions toward Hillary. There is no turning back this year, for many of us. We saw the most DISGUSTING SEXISM, MISOGYNY and actual POISON hurled at the woman who WE WANTED to elect. That, my friends, is the coveted tail end feminist Baby Boom vote — that you have blown, Democratic Party.

And the WRATH goes back to the beginning of this primary season for me, when I tried to get a LAWN SIGN for Hillary and couldn’t. My town was already sewn up. My district was as well. Apparently the prominent Democratic Women (who I elected faithfully in every year since Reagan) had already decided for me, that Hillary wasn’t going to win.

In fact, I question why her ads arrived several days after SUPER TUESDAY in my mailbox. Was it rigged? I don’t know. But I don’t appreciate the DEMOCRATIC PARTY IN CALIFORNIA ONE BIT AFTER THIS ELECTION. And, I have NO RESPECT for the WOMEN LEADERS IN MY PARTY, anymore. Know that. So switching from Clinton to Palin is not hard for me. On that alone.

So, the debate. Here is the McCain camp’s ad on Biden which I saw over at Patriot Room yesterday. McCain’s crew has it right. Here he is for levity’s sake, and there he was last night– up close and personal.

“What am I talking about” couldn’t have been more appropriate in terms of last night’s debate. What was he talking about? He mangled it. All he could talk about was the Bush era in light of camp McCain.

McCain is NOT BUSH! We all know that. McCain and Palin are going to deliver us from the BUSH era. This next four years in WASHINGTON will be an era of DEEP REFORM by one of the most ethical men to come along. John McCain. I know, because I began my research on him way back in June. My feelings about what the Democratic Party did to both of the Clintons? We won’t go all the way there right now. I loathe the Democratic party right now. And I’m not alone.

While Palin was quick to talk about the Greed on Wall Street and reform — Biden talked about hanging out at “Home Depot” as if it were some kind of metaphor for the American Dream. Well, given the law Obama voted for, that Biden voted against? Hmmm….

Obama, Corporate America and Labor (a must read, this morning)

“…On February 10, 2005, Obama voted in favor of the passage of the misnamed Class Action Fairness Act of 2005 which seriously hampers the rights of ordinary citizens to challenge corporations. Senators Biden, Boxer, Byrd, Clinton, Corzine, Durbin, Feingold, Kerry Leah, Reid and 16 other democrats voted against it.

So did 14 state attorneys general, including Lisa Madigan of Obama’s home state of Illinois. She called it a “corporate giveaway.” The Senate also received a desperate plea from more than 40 civil rights and labor organizations, including the NAACP, Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Human Rights Campaign, American Civil Liberties Union, Center for Justice and Democracy, Legal Momentum (formerly NOW Legal Defense Fund) and Alliance for Justice…”

Given that the Democrats were usually for the working classes and the poor?

What are you talking about Joe Biden?

Sarah Palin was quick to remind Biden of things like this wasn’t she? She was.

I caught Brazile saying in a little newsclip about how Biden could really identify with America’s Middle Class, based on where he shops. Well, what you need to know about this particular demographic I’m in, is that we see the death of American Regionalism in all these big box shopping malls to begin with. We could start with the architecture? Or we could talk about the crummy little jobs that the above vote, ahem…

So, what were you talking about, Biden? Especially on that Labor Law above?

Personally, I like John McCain’s ideas about reinvesting in American Labor, and in the American people. His ideas about small town businesses fit with my demographic’s ideas. Yes, California knew all about arugula first, no? Organics? We are so about taste, aren’t we? In the West.

I see McCain and Palin moving away from the corporate claw that has destroyed American Industry in a series of grotesque takeovers, no? And now, with the almost complete destruction of the American Middle Class, Biden — who do you think is going to shop there? I’ll refer you to this piece…

I believe Hillary Clinton can fix poverty in America by using FDR’s “New Deal” WPA methods…

McCain and Palin are way ahead of the Democratic Party on this, no? They are.

You see Biden, while you are willing to talk about GENOCIDE across the sea, you are not willing to talk about the GENOCIDE happening right here on the streets of AMERICA, right now. Let me help you, Joe.

I’m not well versed enough to speak about the war, myself, but I can tell you this — I absolutely TRUST John McCain to know what to do with that. How many years was he in the military? And, believe me — I’m quite certain that John McCain has looked at the last eight years with the same horror most Democrats felt. He will damn well know how to establish the correct way of doing things, won’t he Joe?

In my impression, Sarah Palin was correct in calling the Democrat’s stance “DANGEROUS” — and so Joe Biden, after all these years in Washington, after all these years, I just want to ask you how you let yourself be aligned with Democrats connected to so much CORRUPTION? It’s a curious thing. It is.

You see, long time Democrats such as yourself should have given more thought to Hillary Clinton, shouldn’t you? Why would you let a colleague like her be savaged publicly? Did you have no idea what would happen?

I guess not. But, now you know — because you are just beginning to understand the tidal wave of women who will back Palin this year, for all the right reasons — not just because she was wearing a skirt and fab little pumps. You should really rethink it, Joe. Really rethink the messages you are sending via association, and what it will all mean for your own career down the road. That lipstick on a pig remark? It just added insult to injury, my friend.

Now, the feminist vote is watching VERY CAREFULLY about what you have planned for Sarah Palin, aren’t we?

So, I found a cute ad and a website this morning on all that Troopergate stuff that my friends might want to take a look at. Here is McCain’s ad — (he really is doing a fab job I might add, with his whole campaign so far in the ads!) They are funny and charming…

Here is the site:

You know Joe Biden, it’s just so all about the Dems agenda this year isn’t it? Like this!

What is the deal here, with these fascist looking squads? We live in AMERICA! Don’t we?

Blunt defends taxpayer-funded political work

Obama ‘truth squad’ prosecutor blames TV reporter for flap

“…SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt defended his use of tax dollars for political purposes in a guest column in today’s Springfield News-Leader.

“Missourians entrust their law enforcement professionals with extraordinary power. Senator Obama and his helpers should cease and desist from this ugly enterprise and apologize to Missourians for their very poor judgment,” Blunt wrote.

Blunt’s op/ed came in response to a News-Leader editorial printed Tuesday taking the governor to task for using his office and public relations staff to inject himself into presidential politics.

Blunt defended the practice, arguing “the security of constitutional rights and the integrity of law enforcement are essential parts of my oath to uphold the laws and constitution.”

“As for me, I will strongly oppose the use of law enforcement as a vehicle for loose and outrageous talk about “targeting” people who express their views on candidates and political issues,” Blunt wrote. “I am astonished that you would call on me to keep quiet while political partisans act to chill free speech. Here is my answer to your call: ‘Not a chance.’”

I guess my question to you Joe Biden, after last night’s debate, is what exactly have you gotten yourself into? You seemed like a nice enough man. It’s just that you seemed like you were in over your head…

Or perhaps, your own principles have been blinded on some level?

Because this, given the state of the American Econony right now, looks mighty stupid…

What are you thinking about Joe Biden?

Because — when the Republican Party looks more like the Democratic Party we all pledged our allegiance to once upon a time…

What gives?

$920 Billion More to Bail Out the World

“…With one socialist “bailout” bill apparently on the way to passage by Congress, two more are pending―both of them sponsored by Senator Barack Obama. One is the Jubilee Act, which would cancel as much as $75 billion worth of Third World debt, and the other is the Global Poverty Act, which would cost an estimated $845 billion. Total potential cost: $920 billion.

Meanwhile, in an appearance on the Fox News Channel on Sunday, Republican Rep. Thaddeus McCotter of Michigan called the $700 billion plan now before Congress “Fleece in our time,” a reference to Neville Chamberlain’s “Peace in our time” appeasement deal with Hitler that eventually plunged the world into a World War. The House is scheduled to vote on the measure on Monday.

Calling the deal “Wall Street socialism,” McCotter added, “Now the Wall-Street crony capitalists have put a 700-pound billion dollar bag of dung on taxpayers’ doorsteps, rung the bell, and expect you to thank them when you answer it. I think the American people will believe otherwise…”

I’m voting for John McCain because of his LEXINGTON PROJECT, and his platform…

He’s right — if it gets worse here economically in this country — we will be looking at problems we’ve never had to face yet on our own soil, won’t we?

John McCain’s REFORM SQUAD is going to clean up WASHINGTON so we can restructure American Nationalism. We really aren’t going to vote in AMERICAN FASCISM anytime soon are we? I didn’t think so, either. Like I said, It’s TEDDY TIME! ala Teddy Roosevelt, kiddos.

WE LOVE YOU JOHN McCAIN!

There is a ton of animosity towards Obama from Clinton supporters. Here’s psychodrew, from Taylor Marsh’s site:

Obama is all about big speeches in front of large, adoring crowds that will go away after November 4th. His “youth voters” and “Obamacans” aren’t the committed Democrats that many of us are. For the most part, the college students don’t understand the hard work that changing this country is going to require. And the Obamacans will wipe their hands of the Democrats after the cathartic relief of punishing GOP leaders. The day after the election, these “Democrats for a Day” go back to their own lives and we step in. We start running for local offices. We take over key positions. The Clinton Democrats re-take the party from the bottom.

Are they serious? “Clinton Democrats” are as deluded as ever. Obama has engaged a new generation of voters. He’s accumulated a voting base of black, white, young and old. But according to psychodrew these voters have spines of jelly, and “real Democrats” won’t be able to count on them in the future. Apparently they’ll vote for him with their nose pinched or vote for McCain.

A lot of these Clinton supporters are crying “racism”, arguing that Obama played the race card with Hillary and now is doing it with McCain. And why is he doing that exactly? Because according to these geniuses, playing the race card gets Obama votes. That’s right. Obama’s strategy is to alienate the biggest voting block in America by calling them racists. Fucking Brilliant. But wait, there’s more!

For the most part, the college students don’t understand the hard work that changing this country is going to require.

Is there also animosity towards Obama, not merely because he allegedly plays the “race card”, but also because he’s a young man? Is psychodrew conceding that “college students” voted for Obama because he’s young, just like most have conceded that black voters voted for Obama because he’s black? What psychodrew is doing now, is exactly what Hillary Clinton did during the primary — not only underestimating Obama’s talent as a politician, but underestimating the post 9/11 voter, the voter that came of age after the towers fell and have grown up during the last legs of George Bush’s horrible reign. What these voters see is corruption and war from their political leaders. Obama represents the future. Their future. They are looking past the Hillary Clinton’s and the John McCain’s who have nothing to offer them but old time politics.

Old with a capital O.

The Clinton Democrats are planning to protest Howard Dean’s upcoming voter registration drive across the southern states. They list Dean’s itinerary and promise to “not fall in line.” Here’s a sample of the deranged thinking of these whack-job Hillbots:

Notice how he is starting in Crawford, TX. Now, I don’t like Bush, but this “in-your-face jerk” politics was supposed to be over with. This proves yet again the poor judgment of Howard Dean and the DNC. Thank God he never became president. Crass.

Howard Dean to Take Bus Tour of the South

WASHINGTON — Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean is embarking on a voter registration bus tour he hopes will help push Dixie to the Democrats.

Dean’s trip begins Thursday in President Bush’s hometown of Crawford, Texas, riding an eye-catching bus wrapped in the red, white and blue of presidential candidate Barack Obama’s campaign logo.

The question that begs is, why doesn’t Hillary Clinton — who claims she’s “supporting Barack Obama and will do everything to help him get elected,” set-up and tell these PUMA lunatics to go away? Instead, all we hear from Hillary is crickets.

On Thursday, June 26, I will be interviewed by Blog Bunker at 4:00 pm central time. Blog Bunker is on Indie Talk -Sirius 110. Blog Bunker is a daily hour long show at 5:00 pm eastern which interviews bloggers from across the political spectrum. The topics I suggested were Ralph Nader, spoiler myth, lesser evilism. and instant runoff voting. Here are my thoughts on the subjects.

Ralph Nader: I support the candidacy of Ralph Nader. Last month, I outlined why I support Nader in a post titled Why Nader Beats Team McCain/Obama. The reasons include principled stances on trade, voting reform, immigration, corporate accountability, green energy, health care, Iraq, and Middle East peace. The determining issues in my support for Ralph Nader are economic populist in nature; NAFTA, WTO, living wage, single payer health care, corporate accountability, and economic democracy. I must admit with the recent death of George Carlin, he made a great case for not voting, but chances are I will vote for Nader on election day.

Spoiler Myth: Ralph Nader has discussed the hundreds of excuses why Gore lost in 2000. The most rational excuse includes the Socialist Workers Party (562) who got the exact number of votes the Democrats needed to win Florida. The point is that these are not reasons, rational explanations, but excuses. If I stubbed my toe on a door, my excuse could be it was cloudy, or that even the door moved. I may even retaliate against the door by kicking it, but the door is not the reason for my stubbed toe. Excuses tend to be used to deflect personal responsibility. What the “Nader excuse” has allowed the Democrats to do is deflect any internal defects from the party itself, which is why in 08 we have a candidate who is just as, if not more, corporate than in 2000.

Lesser-Evilism: In a discussion of lesser evilism we need to distinguish the personal from the political. On a personal level we all make a preference that A is better than B, C, or D. In that sense we are all lesser evil voters.

Yet, there is this other lesser evilism which is used as a fear tactic to increase voter disenfranchisement. All of our national elections are plurality based which discourages multiple political parties. The Democrats love exploiting this aspect of our electoral system because they can use fear to get votes. They can “scare” both voters and third party candidates into supporting their cause because the alternative will be “far worse”.

If this was simply rhetoric it would not be so bad. The fact of the matter is throughout this nation there are ballot access restrictions that limit third parties on the ballot. One example of this was in Illinois, in which, for the first time the Green Party was included in the primary. Green Party members were told they were no ballots, they ran out of them, or the Green Party was not included in the primary. Green Party members saw ballots in boxes, under registration forms, and even in the trash. Since the primary was botched, the state party did what it had done for years, selected candidates for office. On June 9th an Illinois election official removed those candidates from the November ballot. This is the politics of lesser evilism in action.

The biggest problem with lesser evilism is what I call slave plantation politics. It seems, for historical reasons maybe, that this psychology is more ingrained in Democrats than Republicans. Slave plantation politics is akin to seeing voters as slaves. Voters are entities that the Democratic Party owns, not free persons whose support they must earn. Much like a slave running away to another plantation, the Democrats react in a similar fashion if a voter supports a third party. It is in this context the Democratic rage of 2000 gets its meaning. All those votes that went for Nader in 2000 were rightfully the Democrats to begin with. Voters are not “freemen” making a rational political choice, but “slaves” that should feel an obligation to the Democratic Party.

Instant Run Off Voting: While both Australia and France use a first past the post style system, and France elects its president through electoral college, we are the only one to use it without instant runoff voting. Both France and Australia use ranked choice voting to make sure elections are majoritorian rather than a diminishing plurality. In 1992, for example, Bill Clinton won the presidency with only 43% of the popular vote.

While more attention has been given to a National Popular Vote, less has been given to a proportional version of Instant Runoff Voting. Single transferable vote, would closely resemble the Iowa Caucuses. Like with IRV, if your first choice is not one of the top two vote getters, then your second and third choices are allocated until one candidate has a majority. In an electoral college based system states can choose to allocate electoral votes proportionally based on the popular vote.

I plan an posting an mp3 of the interview, but if you want to watch me play the fool live you can get Sirius free for three days.

Pat Buchanan, on MSNBC’s The Verdict with Dan Abrams, June 10, 2008.

The MSM is just falling over themselves about the “Hillary effect” and how Obama can win over her voters.

Notice how the rampant, revolting misogyny has miraculously disappeared from TV? It’s as if the MSM and DNC and Obama campaign never hoid ‘o such a thing. All’s peachy, forgiven and forgotten, right? Sure. I’ll call you later.

In fact, we’re all friends now. Barack even dropped me a line today telling me how much he admires Hillary for offering her support to his campaign, and me for my hard work:

Hillary Clinton was very gracious in offering her support to my campaign over the weekend. I admire her and her supporters for their hard work, courage, and tenacity. And I’m grateful for everything they’ve done to build our party.

I also got a letter from Obama’s Campaign Manager, David Plouffe:

People like you have been the heart of Chairman Howard Dean’s 50-state strategy to rebuild our party and empower Democrats to compete everywhere. We’ve all seen the energy and enthusiasm at the grassroots level impact races up and down the ballot over the last three years.

I’m honored that Chairman Dean considers ME to be at the heart of his 50-state strategy. I guess he hasn’t read all the emails I’ve sent to him protesting his Party’s treatment of the Clintons, and the 2.3 million Florida and Michigan voters. And I guess that somebody’s got to hold down the fort for the heart aspect of the DNC — it might as well be me, and people like me:

As obliquely-noted earlier, dday has called on Obama to halt the Democratic Party’s capitulation to Bush, the GOP, and the telecom industry. That Congressional Dems are once again selling out their allegedly-espoused ideals is yet another fine example that the party can no longer be trusted to safeguard, let alone promote, liberal values.

The Green Party can be turned into a viable political alternative by so-called Clinton Democrats; all it takes is the same determination and tenacity that Clinton supporters poured into Clinton’s campaign.

It beats staying in what sadly mirrors an abusive relationship with the Democratic Party, or voting for McCain in hopes of damaging or destroying that party, doesn’t it?

And before anyone points out that Senator Clinton would strongly disagree and want us to stay, allow me to point out that the senator has much more invested in that party than the average Democrat, and what she feels is best for her isn’t necessarily what’s best for the rest of us.
