Thought some folks might enjoy seeing this….

This was shot on the first day of a photo tour of Yellowstone via snowmobile! Yes it was cold, yes it was snowing and yes WE HAD A BLAST!!

Normally you wouldn’t want to get quite this close to a 2000lb animal but when that 2000lb animal decides to pose for some pictures you take some chances and alot of images!

I’m still not sure why I jumped off the snowmobile and setup like I did and where I did but I did, and looking back on it I’m glad I did. This fellow posed for about 5 minutes and during the entire time I swear he was looking me in the eye and trying to determine what in the world I was and why I was there. There was no fear in his eyes only curiosity, and to be honest I was afraid of him either, just stood there and clicked away thanking the Lord for the chance to get up close to such a magnificent animal!!

After my afternoon at the Glen Manor Ravine, I scooted over to the Scarborough Mission on Kingston Rd. with hopes of catching the setting sun reflecting off the grand building. It didn’t work out as well as I’d hoped, so I’ll have to return for another try, but while there I came across a very old copper door, tarnished green by the weather. I’ve got a couple of colour photos, but this one I liked best in black & white. Hope you like it too.

So yesterday I spent the afternoon in a local ravine (Glen Manor Ravine – or maybe it’s Trail). I took a ton of shots but many just aren’t cutting it for me. This little lady big walking the rail was a lucky catch. I took a bunch of photos of her, this one being my favourite.

Well I got out today and took a bunch of photos. Almost 900, in fact. Keep in mind I almost always use auto bracketing, so each photo is taken at three different exposures. So I actually took more like 300 or so. Anyway, with this photo I married three photos together to create this one, with a higher dynamic range. If you’re scratching your head wondering what it is, it’s a macro shot of a rotted tree trunk in a local ravine I spent the afternoon shooting in. I’ve got a bunch of them, so don’t be surprised to see another one or two turn up down the road. When I was done merging the three photo and tweaking contrast and such, I ended up with a 75 meg .tiff file, believe or not. Of course that dropped to just under 4 megs once I converted it to jpeg. And I’ve resized again prior to posting, so it’s not a mere 758K. This is at the Glen Manor Ravine, which is very close to my home. Anyway, I hope you like it. It’s a bit different for me.

Here’s another photo from the Distillery District. I can’t explain it, but I seem to like photographing old and unique bicycles. Hope you like this one.

Äntligen är jag tillbaka som en hel människa igen efter helgens bravader.

Ringde Mattihoe igår och beställde promenad hem från jobbet. Tanken var att mötas i stan och gå den ordinarie vägen hem, men Mattihoe insisterade på en annan “lite roligare väg”. Ordinarie sträcka – ca. 5 km. Mattihoes sträcka – ca. 7,5-8 km (Enligt avståndsberäknaren på hitta.se) Så mina ben värkte rätt skönt när vi äntligen nådde Solna. Fick med oss en välförtjänt pizza upp som vi slaktade på fem röda. Sen var det bara vila, vatten och tidigt i säng som gällde för herr Svensson.

Det är spännande det här med fester för dagarna efter en tung fest säger man liksom alltid att man aldrig ska festa igen, men så fort man återhämtat sig börjar man planera för nästa äventyr. Och nu när jag tänker tillbaka på hur roligt det var i helgen funderar jag inte bara på nästkommande Banditkryssning, utan även på nästkommande Close-Up båt som glider ut i februari. Rätt tunga namn som lockar faktiskt. Eller vad sägs om Dark Tranquillity, Deathstars, Bullet, Gult Of Luna och Tribulation Läs mer på Closeupmagazine.net
