Wanted to watch Michigan Basketball before going to my grandpas, can’t find the remote. Up until about an hour and a half ago, I didn’t know if I’d be getting Thanksgiving this year. I am so I am now happy. Yum, yum, yum…turkey & mashed potatoes. That’s all I really eat, I like the beige food.

Once I get out of my serious state of hell, I’m going to give my closet a serious overhaul. I have a lot of cute clothes. And cute shoes. But I never wear them. I think part of my problem is that my body shape is weird and clothes look weird on me. Like, I can never find a pair of jeans that fits me right. I find a pair that is the right length, but too big or too small in the hips. Or I find a pair that fits perfect in the waist but is too long or too short. And the rest of the time, I find a pair that fit the hips right, is the perfect length, but legs are just way too baggy! I have no luck with jeans. I just settle for whatever looks the best out of what I’ve picked out and go with it…leaving my super cute shirts and shoes for another day when I do find a perfect pair of jeans. The pair I’m wearing right now are pretty good, actually, they’re still a little baggy in the thighs, but I like them, and they’re dark wash and pretty dress so I can wear them with fancier tops…love, love it.

I think I have a pretty good eye for fashion and I love fashion magazines and shopping…I just hate putting it on myself. I think it’s my low self-esteem?

I’m attempting to make a “portfolio” website…I am failing miserably.

As a girl, one thing I LOVE is to go clothes shopping.  In fact, most birthday’s and Christmas’ I ask for money so that I can spend it on clothes!  Another thing I love is to get my hair cut and styled at the salon.  The pampering feels great, and the end results feels even better.  These are activities I can’t do very often, but I always look forward to getting the chance, planning exactly what kind of clothes I want to buy and which hair style I want cut.

But what is it about these activities that makes me enjoy them so much?  The reason is because I feel like they make me look beautiful.  When I’m wearing a great new outfit with a cute new hair cut, my husband tells me a look amazing – and I feel like he’s right!

In 1st Peter, however, we are told that our beauty should not be coming from these outward adornments, but rather from within.  I don’t think that Peter wrote this to condemn all outward beauty as evil, but rather to remind us that the source of our beauty should be primarily our inner character.

True beauty, you see, comes from who we are more than what we wear.

Have you ever met someone who looks fantastic - until you find out how nasty they are.  Then suddenly all their good looks begin to take on an edge of meanness that brings down their beauty.  The opposite is true too; I have noticed that the more I like someone, the better looking they appear to me!

Imagine how good we girls can look if we work on our inner beauty before anything else.  If we take a character make-over and get rid of the blemishes of selfishness, laziness, gossip and hate.  If we put on the beauty of love, peace, kindness and servant-hood.  If before every date with our husbands (or boyfriends) we get our selves dressed up twice – first inwardly, then outwardly.  Then we will be truly beautiful, with a beauty that is worth so much to God, and which never fades.

It’s 6 am and I’m just getting ready for bed now. I have had the most intense week and it’s not over yet. I’ve been in the studio all week recording my album, writing for the Pussy Cat Dolls, Orianthi and yes, our very own theme song for Model House. (which we’re going to be shooting a music video for on the 11th so I really have to hustle butt on that.) I don’t even get to take a break to celebrate thanksgiving. So crazy. But you gotta do what you gotta do to make it right? I’m gona be starting a new show on Stickam.com as well as filming a new secret spoof movie over the weekend of the 12th immediately after the music video so that should be a really fun weekend…The AMAs were this past weekend too! I went to a gifting suite with Marielle and met the owner of Hard Candy who is really excited about this show and is going to sponsor it. SOOO anyone who wins prizes just might get a care package filled with make up!! – i gotta go because tomorrow between recording I have to design cartoons of all the hosts of the show so we can be characters on t-shirts and maybe there will even be a comic book if I have the time to get into a project like that!

I know it’s been a while since i posted but i have been so busy with work as we are all getting ready for Christmas! It’s going to be mental this year! People are already going crazy , shopping wise, quite a lot of things on my wish list that i wanted to buy online are now officially sold out. I guess my taste in clothes is quite popular and mainstream, i never thought it was but it must be since quite a lot of clothing items i spotted about a month ago and added to my wish list are now OUT OF STOCK! I hate that went it happens!  I will just have to wait until they stock up again and keep an eye out. I can’t wait for Christmas-it’s my favorite time of year! biker boots have to be one of the biggest looks around this season. i bought an amazing pair from newlook (!) a few months ago for just £60 and have been wearing them to death. fearne cotton is one celebrity really onto the trend, amongst others.. they look great with skits, tights, leggings, jeans- anything!

Very cool graphic hoodie. well it has to be doesn’t it? This is the blog dedicated to the coolest hoodies graphic or other. I love how the designer off set the rollergirl so that it looks like she is looking up at the person wearing the hoodie.

My favorite U.S. holiday is finally here! Roast turkey, green bean casserole, and pies.. oh I love thee! I’m so lucky to have a host family to introduce me to this festivity. Every year I and a friend will go to their house and have a turkey feast, chat, play with their grandson and dog, play uno cards, and homemade pies.

This year the celebration came early. Last night we went to a thanksgiving dinner hosted by a Singaporean family who called the dinner “Asian-style Thanksgiving”. Yes, there’s still turkey. But instead of stuffed with the usual bread and herbs, this Asian-style roast turkey was stuffed with glutinous rice and Chinese sausage, mushroom, etc. The side dishes include both cranberry jelly and fried beehoon.  I took the above picture of my friend’s plate as I only remembered to take a picture after I finished half of my own plate. Haha! Anyway her plate has the glutinous rice stuffing that I didn’t have so you can kind of see what it looks like. Presentation wise, these dishes are brown on brown on brown… but they actually taste really good!

Oh, and that plus the pumpkin pie I had tonight… I’m so grateful I was wearing this loose babydoll dress:

When I discovered towards the end of October that I was being interviewed for a spot to study Fashion Design at UTS, I was excited but also confused because I have never done a fashion portfolio before. I mean, my fashion illustration skills were barely there because I prefer drawing the garments without the figures of the models. I have always found it difficult to draw people, they aren’t like straight lines as in architectural buildings. Nevertheless, it gave me an opportunity to practice my drawings and sewing to try and make the 10 examples of my work. Luckily I got it done, with the help of some friends despite the fact that none of my friends were willing to model. However, it all worked out. Here are some of the portfolio pages…

Shit is so sick. The satin college style jacket comes in a navy/white colorway with extensive embroidery details, that are especially impressive on the back of the jacket.
