Emblazoned across the box of Kellogg’s Cocoa Krispies earlier this month (Coco Pops to anyone in the UK or Australia): “Now Helps Support Your Child’s Immunity!“.

Crikey.

Hang on! Where is my childhood breakfast time companion Coco the Monkey? And why do Americans get the correct spelling of “Cocoa” and the three brats from Rice Krispies (Crispies?) on the cover instead? Are Americans really more trusting of three young white kids with pixie ears and big scary eyes (the effects of a century of puffed rice laced with high fructose corn syrup) over a spritely brown big-eared monkey? I guess nutritional health claims carry more scientific weight when they’re introduced by magical singing elves Smack, Crack and Pot.

Are we naive enough to believe that cereal can increase immunity? Why, a box of cereal certainly works out cheaper than visiting the Doctors nowadays. A chocolatey spoon of puffed rice is also undoubtedly more tasty than a metal needle stabbing you in the upper arm. Why not just include a ‘free’ vial of the H1N1 vaccine (syringes sold separately) so we can all shoot up with a healthy dose of mercury and squalene before we “eat”? It may reduce the need for people to go a-rushin’ to their nearest clinic (amidst the “Oh-my-God-we-are-running-out” shortages and “God-save-us-in-the-scary-pandemic” type alerts). There you go ‘, that’s one from me. Keep it. Use it. Go on.

Apparently, the City Attorney of San Francisco, US, Dennis Herrera sent a letter to Kellogg’s and to the Food and Drug Administration in the US asking Kellogg’s to prove its claim:

“I am concerned the prominent use of the immunity claims to advertise a sugar-laden chocolate cereal like Cocoa Krispies may mislead and deceive parents of young children.”

No. Really?

Interestingly, in the same year as our friend Monsieur Kellogg (1852-1945), inventor of the cornflake, began selling cereal commercially (1906), he also founded the Race Betterment Foundation to help stop the “propagation of defectives.” Our Kellogg was also on the Advisory Council of the American Eugenics Society.

It seems that Kellogg was convinced that poor dietary and moral habits were leading America down the path of ‘race degeneration’. His solution was eugenics, not merely as a set of policies, but as a quasi-religious ideology. As you do, when you are the business of fashioning flattened flakes of corn.

Kellogg’s’ reveled in his role as defender of scientific efficiency in the realisation of power to control global breakfasting habits. Build up the monopoly; get kids hooked on sugar, playful characters and free toys and then pump whatever ‘immunity boosting’ elements you like into the boxes. For example, there are heaps of interesting articles on Folic Acid in cereal (and now we have it as mandatory for wheat flour – and therefore bread- in Australia). The ridiculousness of the entire situation is that the very target market for folic acid fortification is young women and mass medication is simply not good public health policy. [however, unlike the fluoride in the water, one does have a reasonable element of choice in what we eat for breakfast]. Like most things that get approved by food standard agencies and departments across the globe, there are too many unresolved issues and questions around safety and efficacy- nevermind the issue of the immorality of ‘mass medication’. I say: If in doubt, leave it out. But Kellogg’s insists that once we wake up we all (well, particularly impressionable young children) need to shovel down our mouths:

Rice, Sugar, Chocolate (4.5%), Cocoa Powder, Calcium Carbonate, Salt, Malt Flavouring, Flavouring, Niacin, Iron, Vitamin B6, Riboflavin B2, Thiamin B1, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12.

“Kellogg’s Krispies cereals provide consumers with 25 percent of their daily value of vitamins A, C, and E, which play an important role in boosting immunity according to peer-reviewed, published, scientific research” says Kellogg’s.

…Come on.

[Coco Pops are also 40% sugar by weight.]

In his work Plain Facts, Kellogg even prohibits those with contagious ‘urban’ diseases, such as tuberculosis, and cholera, from marrying and reproducing offspring, essentially targeting immigrants, and those whom he collectively labeled “the lower classes”. According to Kellogg, “a few generations of such a degenerating process would exterminate the [white] race, and drive it back to Darwin’s ancestral ape.” Kellogg even compared the product of miscegenation, “hybrid” humans, with mongrel dogs: “Different varieties or races of the same species may form a fertile union, the result of which is a mongrel — a cross between its two parents, possessing some of the qualities of each. All the varieties of dogs are produced by crossing different races, and so are mongrels.

One newspaper said Dr. Kellogg and Dr. Burbank were trying to make the United States into a great stock farm, by breeding for human efficiency.

“I wish we had the power to do that very thing. It would not be such a bad idea,” he continued, “it certainly would be a great deal better than to have the United States a great stock farm, breeding mongrels-which is what we are doing now.” – John H. Kellogg

Very important Americans supported this idea, from Roosevelt, Carnegie, the Rockefellers and the Kellogg family:

“Society has no business to permit degenerates to reproduce their kind…. Some day we will realize that the prime duty, the inescapable duty of the good citizen of the right type is to leave his blood behind him in the world, and that we have no business to perpetuate citizens of the wrong type” (1913- Roosevelt, Theodore)

Now, this is where it gets particularly interesting…

Apparently, Kellogg was a big anti-sex/anti-masturbation activist. You’ll find that he was actually on such a far end of the spectrum that he didn’t have sexual intercourse with his wife even once in their 40 years of marriage (he worked on his book “Plain Facts” on their honeymoon). It would make sense that a self-proclaimed eugenicist would want to limit the reproductive capabilities of the ‘degenerate’ population who consume the highly processed GM foodstuffs in cartoonised cardboard boxes?

He said (in Plain Facts):

“A plain and healthy diet, with only two meals a day, among other things, would reduce sexual feelings”

So clearly John Kellogg thought there’s link between a person’s diet and his sexual desires. Could the eugenics ideology of today’s global elite NWO have infiltrated our breakfast options by design?

Anyway, don’t let me put you off your cereal. Chew away. But please check the ingredients in “Special K” before you swallow too much…

Good evening/ morning/ day!

When I logged on SL today I saw 5 folders in my inventory all from a store called 3636 and I got really confused because I hadn’t even heard of this store before. Turns out, the owner, dianny3636 Aeon, had sent me an IM along with the folders, which I didn’t see because unfortunately my IM’s get capped. She had read my blog and loved it so she’d sent me the folders containing different hairstyles so that if I wanted I could blog them \o/ So here they are! I’m only showing you this one style in this blog, the others you will no doubt see in other blogs in the future. All of dianny’s hairs are statement ones, big bouffants, Lady GaGa style. Definitely for those people who like to be the centre of attention! Not usually my style, when I’m out and about in SL it’s usually more relaxed, comfier looking hair, the ones from Decoy and the long curly one from Shop Seu are the ones glued to my head at the moment.

I just also have to add that I <3 these boots from TOSL, you can buy them at the Footwear Expo \o/ They come in heaps of colours and if I had more lindens I’d buy all of them! lol

Na Época desta semana a primeira coisa que li foi a coluna da Ruth de Aquino. É que tenho o hábito de ler revistas de trás para frente e a coluna dela fica estrategicamente na última página… Independente disso, eu adoro a coluna dela, que trata sempre de um tema polêmico com a naturalidade de quem bate um papo com a gente, um papo muito inteligente por sinal…

Desta vez, ela abordou a decisão da prefeitura carioca de proibir a venda de coco-verde nas areias das praias do Rio de Janeiro, tornando o pobre coco um “bode expiatório” do problema da poluição da orla que envergonha até quem não é carioca!…

Ilustrando muito bem a questão do alvo mal escolhido, ela diz:
“[...]Quase 60% do lixo recolhido nas praias são cocos-verdes – 20 mil cocos por dia. Cada um pesa em média 1 quilo. O “Comitê Gestor da Orla” informou que o coco é o maior detrito, o maior poluidor das praias. Coitado do coco. O maior poluidor das praias é o brasileiro, um povo sem a menor educação ambiental.[...]”

E mais a frente ela esclarece:
“[...]No Rio, a mesma multidão que quer se refrescar com coco junto ao mar deixa nas areias, aos domingos, até 180 toneladas de lixo. É tudo o que se pode imaginar. Garrafas, latas, saquinhos plásticos, palito de churrasco, fralda descartável, luvas (para passar água oxigenada nos pelos do corpo!) e muito mais.[...]” – certamente a proibição da venda de alguns itens alimentares na areia não vai resolver de fato o problema…

Mais cedo ou mais tarde...

Concordo com ela e recomendo a leitura do artigo, mas isso me fez lembrar que na gestão da qualidade também atacamos muitas vezes o alvo errado. Ao invés de irmos ao cerne dos problemas, agindo sobre a causa raiz, atacamos um efeito ou algo que julgamos ser a causa, mas por uma investigação mal conduzida ou para evitar uma revolução nos processos envolvidos, seja pela dificuldade ou pelo custo da mudança que sabemos ser necessária… Infelizmente essa prática é adotada por uma infinidade de empresas, principalmente pela questão do custo. Costumo dizer que se preocupam com elefantes mas deixam passar as formigas, pois evitar o investimento numa ação corretiva precisa pode significar que arrastaremos o “pequeno custo” de uma ação ineficaz por anos a fio, que somado, dará às vezes um valor maior… Além do problema não resolvido de fato e que um dia voltará à tona, perdemos tempo.

Percebam a relação entre a decisão da prefeitura carioca e as (más) decisões dos gestores nos assuntos da qualidade. Nos dois casos, o problema não estará resolvido. A medida será apenas paliativa, nos iludindo de que economizamos uma baba ao optar por ela.

Quer outro exemplo engraçado?
Meu filho recebe uma mesada. Só que diariamente ele se acostumou a me perguntar se tenho algumas moedas e, quando tenho, as dou para ele. E ele guarda em seu cofrinho… Outro dia fomos olhar e lá havia mais do que a mesada dele! E o valor foi acumulado em pouco mais de dois meses!!!

Então, pense bem se compensa “dar moedinhas” para o cofrinho da não-conformidade mal resolvida! Afinal, certamente ela não é uma filha querida!!!

Hiiii! I think I’ve deprived you long enough without a blog from me! Honestly I wasn’t intending to go so long without blogging. I haven’t been in the right mind frame to blog. The shop is going well, getting few more people cos I got the Midnight Mania now, and my subscribe group has gone up to 58 members \o/ Don’t ask about the club lol

So it’s 4.30am and for some reason I’m in the right mood to blog when i should be in bed. Today I am showing you this outfit that I put together earlier, which includes items from *COCO*, Madsy, Kookie and *~*evie*~*. The main focus of this outfit are the Athena boots from Kookie, which you can buy at the Footwear Expo (prepare for lag). I am absolutely totally in love with them! Evie’s legs look amazingly skinny and long in these shoes.

I added my bag to the outfit for 3 reasons, 1) I made it  2) It matches the colour of the jacket buckles and 3) It adds a bit of glam to the outfit. \o/ This gorgeous dress is from *COCO* and it is one of the group gifts, it comes in 4 different colours, just join the group and buy the gifts on the wall at the store \o/ There’s a few other gifts there too. old ones and kinda new ones. I think I’ve showed you the Madsy jacket, and the necklace was in the last blog too. I discovered the hair in the depths of my hair folder, it’s not one I’d wear out and about but good for blogging.

Today I am very happy to show you a few season fitting items of Miamai.
First i will start with the Abigail Shirt.

This shirt is an amazing multi usable piece of clothing. You can wear it as a casual top to a stylish jeans or you can addit to a classy skirt. Nice great made folds give the top a fresh look. If you take a look at the back you can see a nice detail of this shirt. The folds are going round from the front to the back and make the upper part of the back. The you have a sweet free space so that you can see the amazing back of a lady . The gloves, who are also included are repeating the filds on the seam! This shirt with the gloves give all outfits a precious touch!

Up next we have the Cydonia Pants.

This pants are something special. On the first view you see only pants. If you take a closer look your eyes be catched by the amazing leg parts. 4 attachment points are needed for this awsome designed leg parts. Ruffles and little lines with ribbons give this pants the special look. The pants layer it self has a great made texture and the belt with the same great texture matches perfect. This pants are a must have for this season!

Now lets get some color in the grey and dark days with the Mary Shirt of Miamai.

This pullover is a real highlight and perfect for the days getting colder more and more. What I liked so much was, that you don’t have a plain textured pullover only broken through folds. This pullover shows up with a nice basic color broken through shadows and light parts. The texture is made with an eye for the detail and with love for something special as we know it for all Miamai designs.

Take a look at the attachments. On each hand you have a sleeve that leads amazing from the end of the top shirt layer to the end of the pullover. My interst was taken mostly by the neckpart. The big roll collar is my personal favourite part on this pullover. It reminds me of cozy feelings when I hide my chin and neck  while I was standing at the window and looked out while I watched the first snowflakes falling down.

I totally fell in love with these boots from CoCo Designs. They are called, realistically, Laced Up Work Boots. They are adorable, come with 2 styles, laced and unlaced (which is shown here). A hud is included that when worn has all the resize scripts included as well as a option to add a rolled cuff or remove it. I have it added here and it looks really cute. you can even move the cuff up and down the leg as well as adjust the size of the actual cuff. I love them and it totally completed my collection I have been gathering from the store, as you can see.

Les savons, quand on met le pied dedans….

Maintenant que j’ai trouvé une astuce pour gagner de la place chez moi au séchage, ça ne peut plus me servir d’excuse pour ne pas savonner. Enfin j’ai fourré mon nez dans ma boite d’huiles essentielles et j’avais envie d’un autre savon aux agrumes, mais cette fois-ci pas comme mon “Halloween” avec juste l’HE d’orange douce. Il me restait de la mandarine, du pamplemousse et de l’orange (du citron mais c’est pas trop mon truc). Et puis j’ai mis la main sur mon HE d’Ylang-Ylang et j’ai eu envie de me lancer.

Savon “Agrumes-Ylang”, batch de 600 g de gras

25 % coco
20 % karité
20 % macadamia
15 % ricin
10 % cacao
8 % pépins de raisin
2 % argan

Surgras à 9.
J’ai pris un peu plus de la moyenne des liquides prévus, soude à recalculer.

A la trace :
ajout de 20 g d’HE mandarine, 5 g d’HE d’orange douce, 4 g d’HE de pamplemousse, 1 g d’HE d’ylang-ylang, 2 g de sel fin, 2 g de lait de coco en poudre (je n’ai pas osé plus), 6 g de karité à la trace (prélevés du karité prévu), colorant orange liquide de Skin Care online.

Ensuite j’ai moulé la plus grosse partie dans une brique de lait coupée en 2 et j’ai séparé le reste en deux parties : une ou j’ai ajouté du colorant orange et un petit peu d’oxyde rouge et dans l’autre du colorant rouge et de l’oxyde rouge.
J’ai tenté un marbrage.

J’ai remarqué que la trace était plus rapide dès que j’avais du karité dans la recette aussi. Si, au lieu de mettre des HE j’avais mis une fragrance j’aurais eu un magnifique “figeage” .

So, have you guys been to the Shoe Expo yet? It just opened so it might still be a bit crowded, but it has some fantastic styles that I’m sure you’ve already seen around the feeds. I didn’t pick up any of the newer styles, but I discovered these meticulously crafted boots from Coco that won my heart at first sight. Head on over to the expo now and make your feet happy!

The new sweater dress from Luck Inc. is an excellent winter dress. Sure, it’s not groundbreaking, but it’s one of the most detailed and well-made sweater dresses around, with some incredible color options. I’m very picky about the hue selections that stores offer, so having it in Etton Blue, Fallow, or Taupe is a color-phile’s wet dream come true. Also, there’s a new pose store in town by Willa Whybrow, called @Waffles!. To be completely honest, there are so many pose stores already out there that new pose stores rarely excite me, but this one made me squee. Hello, absolutely adorable poses! Just wait til you see the mens’ poses in a post later on.

Un autre savon, pour me venger de ce que la trace m’a fait avec mon savon “bifsteak” lol, à voir dans les ratages.
Un savon avec inclusion de savons en forme de sapin colorés à l’ultramarine violet et parfumé à la fragrance “Lolita Lempicka” en melt & pour au lait de chèvre.

Voici la recette :

25 % coco
20 % karité (dont 5 % à la trace)
15 % cacao
30 % olive
10 % ricin

A la trace :
Fragrance Lolita Lempicka
Ultramarine rose
6 g de sucre (pour voir si ça fait des grosses bulles)
5 % du poids du karité
Paillettes
Colorant alimentaire violet pour le marbrage (qui donne du rose/rouge d’ailleurs )

Soude à recalculer.

INS = 153, pas de phase de gel.

Conan ‘O Brien is a great guy. I’ve watched him almost every night since I was 15 years old. Although his show is bleeding in the ratings, I think he’s the funniest guy on late night TV shows, and he can’t be beat.
What I’m trying to get at here, is that Conan donated $50,000 to Mayor Booker’s charity and NBC matched it, making it $100,000 dollars. Booker and Conan were going through a “fight” on air/YouTube (example below). It was funny, but over stayed its welcome.
I hope you all start watching Conan, don’t look at the ratings, he’s hilarious!
