I was looking at some blanks that I had cut to make some pens with. As I was looking at the grain that was cut cross way, I noticed something I could do. I can adjust the pen tube to have the Grain show anywhere I want in the Pen. By cutting side by side look what I get. The Grain is the same per blank. Now to the Band Saw! From here it goes to the Drill Press. Easy on the Drilling don’t want to crack the blank. After this I will blow out the holes to clean the dust out of them. Now time to Glue and sand ends. After that’s done time to put on the lathe. It takes two blanks cut side by side to have the same colors come out from the top to the bottom. Remember this is the wood Grain going sideways? Going with the Grain would be lines not swirls. Here is how it turns down, man I like the look of this wood! I have about 10 Blanks of this wood, my Son Joe the Plumber picked this out and I’m glad he did. Here it is on the Jet Lathe I have some more ideas but I know I’m going to get a call and have to go to work.
