Ceea ce vreau sa dezbat,azi este parandaratul incercat de Elena Udrea de la Ministerul Sportului cu Gheorghe Hagi.

Sunt un admirator neconditionat al Regelui fotbalului romanesc.

Am fost in urma cu mai multi ani si in hotelul YAKI mi-a placut.Nimic de zis.

Gheorghe Hagi merita din partea noastra ,a romanilor,inzecit mai mult,pentru contribuitia adusa la imaginea Romaniei.

Este unul din cei mai buni ambasadori.

Nu-i aduc nici cea mai mica invinuire lui Gheorghe Hagi.

Din partea mea ,Hagi poate sa fure toata Romania.

M-as bucura ,de asemenea,daca clubul Steaua ar intra in proprietatea lui Hagi.

Nu sunt de acord insa cu santajul incercat asupra lui George Becali de catre Elena Udrea si Traian Basescu.

Dupa ce l-au arestat printr-o facatura si l-au pus in libertate pentru suma de peste 1 milion de euro,Elena Udrea si Traian Basescu ,au incercat sa-l deposedeze de ceea ce este viata lui:clubul de fotbal.

Intr-o maniera banditeasca si mai ales cu banii statului roman.

In spatele acestei initiative se afla,cu siguranta,generalii de opereta Anghel Iordanescu si Gabriel Oprea,cele doua curve politice si bineinteles,evazionistul numarul 1 al Romaniei in materie de alcool ,Gigi Netoiu ,securistul care il tinea sechestrat pe Mircea Dinescu in casa.

Vor echipa de fotbal escrocii astia si nu oricare cel mai titrat club romanesc „Steaua Bucuresti”

Cel mai mult ma deranjeaza ca au incercat sa il implice in mizeria asta pe cel care este simbolul fotbalului romanesc:Gheorghe Hagi.

Hagi noi te iubim,stapaneste sanatos banii pe care i-ai primit,meriti mai mult,dar nu te baga in afaceri cu escrocii.E pacat.

Oare in tara asta numai exista oameni cu capul pe umeri care sa opreasca dictatura acestei prostituate numita Elena Udrea?

mai întâi de toate, cerul e aproape gri dar fără ceaţă. pe geamul deschis aud un cocoş cam odată la 45 de secunde, mi se pare, iar de mai multe ori pe minut se-aud roţile maşinilor din drum, de pe şoseaua tocmai bine plouată. a oprit cineva şi claxonează de câte 3 sau patru ori, aşteaptă puţin opreşte motorul. portieră trântită. porneşte maşina latră un căţel aud o voce. am să plec. mi-e frig la picioare.

mai stau pe-acasă. jiboul povestirilor crepusculare. îmi aduce aminte de mine, de parcă m-aş fi uitat!

Blat:

- 4 albusuri
-300 g  zahar
- 250 g  nuca de cocos

Strat de ciocolata:

- 2 linguri cacao
- 2 linguri zahar
- 100 g ciocolata amaruie
- putin lapte sau smantana de frisca (2-3 linguri)

Crema:
- 1 cutie de smantana pt frisca 38% grasime

- 1 plic praf instant de budinca de vanilie

Mod de preparare:

Se bat albusurile spuma impreuna cu zaharul pana rezulta o spuma tare si lucioasa.
Se pune nuca de cocos si se amesteca cu o paleta.
Punem compozitia la copt intr-o tava tapetata cu hartie de copt, la 160 grade, pana se aureste deasupra, nu mai mult!!!
Lasam la racit, fara sa scoatem hartia de copt, fiindca blatul e foarte casant!

Pentru stratul de ciocolata, punem toate ingredientele intr-un vas pe bain-marie pana se omogenizeaza dupa care se pune imediat peste blatul racit.

Pentru crema de vanilie punem impreuna smantana cu praful si mixam.
Crema rezultata se pune peste stratul de ciocolata.

Se rade deasupra ciocolata.
Se pune la frigider cateva ore apoi se taie dupa preferinta.

Poate ca numele de Cucuteni (al culturii) ar parea ca a fost ales in mod aleator. Cred insa ca nu este asa. Exponatele sunt reprezentari ale cerului. Capetele acelea privesc (cu ochii inchisi (!?)) cerul.
Un taur (!) (constelatia taurul) are o deschidere pe spinare in zona in care, pe cer, se afla Pleiadele. Deschiderea este de forma patrata (!).
Un alt exponat este o figura de pasare cu coarne (Taurul).
Afisul expozitiei are o imagine a unui taur (vaca) care pe spinare la nivelul gatului are doua “ridicaturi”, exact la nivelul la care se afla roiul pleiadelor.
Mai jos un vas acoperit are reprezentata o pasare (!). Patru (!) ridicaturi care sugereaza sfarcuri (!) sunt prezente pe acelasi vas.
Linii curbate, spirale care sugereaza apa (!?) sunt prezente pe toate vasele.

La popoarele hinduse KUKUTA este Cocos. Interesant este ca in copilarie suntem invatati cum ca cocosul se exprima prin onomatopea cucurigu. KUKU-ta….KUKU-rigu.

Los ñús seguían entrando, al principio por parejas .. luego por decenas .. ahora ya por centenas .. hasta las gaceñas se habían contagiado de tanto broteverdismo. Era algo curioso, TODO el mundo sabe la verdad, sabe que la situación no mejora sino que a veces empeora, pero los animales, las personas y todo bicho viviente necesitamos esperanzas, necesitamos un guía, algo u alguien que nos ayude a sobrellevar la situación, que nos indique el camino, para que nos imaginemos que la travesía no será en vano. Algunos les llaman estimaciones. otros expectativas,.. sin embargo lo que ningún animal  se paraba a pensar era “quién era ese guía”. Y si, si se hubiéran parado a pensar  y no se dejaran llevar por el miedo, usarían su sentido común … que desgraciadamente es el sentido menos común de los que tenemos.

Esos guías, esos líderes eran los mismos que causaron los problemas, la hambruna, …. esas nuevas expectativas eran cursadas por los que hasta hace poco llevaban a los animales al matadero forrándose  en el proceso. Si eran esos mismos que lo multiplicaban por 2, por obra y gracia de los cuidadores del parque. Pero el miedo de una sociedad salvaje donde la individualidad había sido promovido entre sus miembros, hacía muy dificil la supervivencia, mientras los guías, los altos cargos de la selva eran todos conocidos, estaban agrupados en muchos casos por ligazones sanguíneas, efectivamente el enchufismo también formaba parte de nuestra selva bursátil.

Todo encaja, hazlos individuales, que busquen la felicidad en la simple supervivencia, acota sus esperanzas  promoviendo lo que es “normal”  con la ayuda de los monos y los cuervos. Haz que sea dificil, que se sacrifiquen… para ello conviertelos en papel, titulízalos … exprópialos de autoestima, que sean otros los que los reconozcan, que pasen el filtro y se amolden a su función sobre la tierra.

Los ñús cumplen su función, ser carne y alimento, además tienen patas por lo que no es necesario transportarlos, “se transportan” ellos sólos al matadero. Incluso entre los ñús, que sabemos que son muy tontos, tenemos los guías… los atrevidos. Llegado un momento, el flujo de ñús disminuye … los cocos intentan por todos los medios que no ocurra eso, pero cada vez más rumores aparecen entre los ñúes que están afuera de la charca. Los ñúes no entienden, cómo sólo es posible que en esta inmensidad sólo tengamos brotes verdes en esa charca?? … Los ñúes son tontos y no son capaces de distinguir entre las falacias y las mentiras como lo hacen los Leoncios, sin embargo muchos tontos juntos provocan situaciones esperpénticas, malentendidos … y eso está apunto de pasar en la charca, bueno en la charca no… entre los que están afuera se corre el rumor de que va a llover, se dice que la última vez que llovió se creó la charca. Los cocos no pueden creer lo que oyen, los ñúes de afuera poco a poco son cada vez más reticentes a entrar, “dicen que va a llover” “no hay brotes verdes?… pues ahora lloverá”. Las gacelillas están en este momento en pleno asalto a la valla, como siempre llegan tarde a la fiesta.

¿qué hacen los cocos para recuperar el flujo de ñúes?

A different light source

Still LOVING my Nikon D3000 and the fact that I can take awesome photographs with it. Admittedly, I’m yet to progress to the manual settings, but, shutter priority is working pretty well right now. Especially considering I’ve found the best way to trick the camera. Last night I was basically shifting the camera slightly, pressing the shutter and *hoping* it would decide to take a picture. That wasn’t working so well, and the photographs had an ugly background. I tried turning the light on, pressing the shutter and racing to switch the light off again, which resulted in some interesting pics, with two different colours of light showing. But it wasn’t what I wanted. Tonight, I moved the camera closer to the light switch, zoomed in 0n a blank piece of wall (not completely blank, just one small photograph to help the camera focus), focused the camera, reached out and flicked off the switch, then fully pressed the shutter and took the pic! I’ve only been using LED torches, I’m yet to experiment with other light sources, which I will when I’m not tired from work.

Speaking of work, tonight I had to close, practically as supervisor. Our fruit and veg manager was asked to stay back (to lock the doors and stuff) but I had the responsibility of making sure all the “stuff”  that had to get done by the check-out operators was done. We were one person short up the front too, so I’m pretty happy that everything went ok. Yay!!

Oh, and I thought I should mention my first thoughts of this picture, it reminded me of neon lights, and then of the song by Simon And Garfunkel, The Sound Of Silence, which I used to play on the piano. In particular, the lyrics of this verse:

- Piftia e o cestie simplă dacă iese.
- Cum adică?
- Simplu. Trebuie să tremure dar să nu curgă. În acelaşi timp aroma de usturoi e totul. Secretul e suma de gelatină din zamă. De aici pleacă totul. Cea mai uşoară e piftia de porc, iar cea mai delicată şi complicată e piftia de cocoş. În rest ai gama aspicurilor unde combinaţiile sunt nelimitate şi folosirea e spectaculoasă. Alte arome, alte culori.
- Acum vine Crăciunul, aşa că cea mai bună pasăre e porcul.
- Cum îţi ziceam e banală. Iei cap de porc, unul sau jumate, depinde de cît vrei să-ţi iasă, nişte urechi şi nişte rasoale cu tot cu adidaşi.
- Ce adidaşi?
- Aşa le spunea pe vremea mea picioarelor de porc.
- Cu copite?
- Cu, dar să fie bine curăşate de păr. Asta dacă ai de gînd să pui şi şorici în piftie. Deci le pui pe toate într-o oală mare cu apă rece. Le pui la fiert şi tot completezi apa pînă ce cade carnea de pe oase. Opreşti procesul de fierbere. Scoţi la rece. Cînd s-a răcit iei grăsimea de deasupra la o parte şi separi carnea de oase.  Zeama rămasă o pui din nou la fiert sa scadă cam pe la jumătate si probezi. Iei o farfurie adîncă cu apa rece si pui nişte picături de zeamă. Dacă se încheagă o iei de pe foc. Unii pun la fiert şi ceva rădăcinoase, unul doi morcovi, o ţelină, eu nu. Aşezi carnea în castroane. Iei o căpăţină două de usturoi, o cureţi şi pisezi bine căţeii. Pui pe o strecurătoare un servet de pînză şi aşezi acolo usturoiul pisat. Începi să treci prin şervet zeama clocotită de la castron la castron pînă le umpli pe toate. Duci castroanele la rece. Gata.
- Sare nu pui?
- Ba da Cristi, întreab-o pe Corina. Cînd a scăzut, dregi de sare. Pentru mine asta e piftia de porc. De obicei mai pun nişte aripi de curcan sau o pulpă ca să am carne mai multă macră. Mai pun şi nişte ouă fierte de culoare.
- Aia de cocoş?
- Altă dată, mai la vară.

Well, let’s just suffice it to say that I had to spray a lot of perfume on this morning. There was no time to shower, much less mascara my eyelashes. This game was just too dang early…

 I’m not happy to admit this, and so I am not formally admitting this… but my husband informs me that I may not be a “morning person.”

Huh?

What does he know?

He is off riding the mountainsides in Utah right now.

He may or may not be right. I don’t have the freaking patience to find out at this early hour, but I did have a hard time waking up this morning.

Go figure.

My only incentives being:

A. To see my son play

B. To see my son play well

C. To see my son play well against ”dickhead.”

Now, I am not one to hold any grudges.

Like, I have almost forgiven that little bitch in high school… almost.

I don’t use the voodoo doll on her anymore… well, only semi-annually.

Heck, I have other things to do than live in the past.

And, that neighbor that I used to have living near me, emphasis on used to (and no, nothing mysterious happened to her… much to my regret. She just moved… how common, right?)

Let’s just say that when the book came out, The Devil Wears Prada, I thought it was about my neighbor.

Bee-atch, with a small ass and rock-hard boobs.

Yikes. I remember the first time she hugged me. I was bruised for a week from her plastic surgery stone tits.

Well, I am still in therapy over all of that neighborhood nonsense stuff. 

No one here misses her dropping her garbage into other people’s cans.

Yeah baby, you can keep your dirty diapers to yourself.

Schtinky.

My dog misses them though. Evidently, there is something attractive with the scent of toddler diarrhea rolled in a Pampers disposables…

Eeeeeeuuuuw.

So, like I said I’m not one to keep grudges. So the fact that we are facing up dickhead and his team this morning is double-edged.

First off, I had to drive all the way back to my house because I forgot my chair.

I knew this was not going to be a good sign.

My sweet little sugar-coated ass would melt on the beauty of the morning dew if I were to sit on the ground. We can’t be having any of that wet dew sinking into my “down there” now can we?

Right.

So, I drove back to get my chair.

Gosh.

Secondly, I can’t help it that I express myself verbally.

Calling a kid dickhead seemed and still seems appropriate, and if the conditions arise again… and I feel the need to express myself in these and other matters, then I am bound by the “Mother Bear” Codes of Conduct to protect my little cub.

Regardless.

And… I am going to disregard the coaches messages left on my cell phone informing me of various muzzle supply shops.

A muzzle?

For who?

Dickhead?

That might be a little extreme for a 15-year-old, but I picked one up for him just in case.

I do understand the mouths of these babes, because I live with two teenagers and I could see how it could come in handy.

Like… everyday.

So, I bought him an extra-large.

Because he has an extra-large dickhead.

Du-u-uh.

I learned that from my kids… that “duh” thing.

Doesn’t it just make you feel good all over?

….

Well, right now… we are knee-deep in the second half and the score is one-to-one.

The kids are dripping with sweated competitiveness. Licking their teenaged chops for this victory that is due them. The tension hovers over the parents around me.

And me… well, I am in a catatonic stare… they are all navy colored enemies against our white shirted boys, and now those 15-year-old little penile wannabes threaten our good Saturday.

They have kicked two of our guys in the balls.

Hard.

One of their players received a red card.

And if that is not enough, they have tackled my son to the point where he was lying on the ground for literally two minutes.

Just lying there.

Unmoving.

And, I was not allowed to go on the field.

Mama bear does not like this part.

And, I’m going to tell you that two minutes is a very long time when your son is in pain, on the ground and not moving.

….

I would like to say that we won the game, but we did not.

We played a hard fight, but a clean one.

I left my comments until after the three tweets of the whistles were heard, signaling the end of the game.

Then I let a few “explicatives” fly…

A tough loss for all…

For us…

For other dickheads across the world…

And… for the world…

I don’t think that I am over exaggerating here, when I say that this IS a tough loss for the entire world…

Tragic.

And then of course, we all went to CoCo’s for breakfast.

9/19/09 – 9/20/09

Vicky had invited Yumi and I to go to a choir concert held by her uncle, so we wrote it down on our calendars to attend the concert. We also planned to have a sleepover since we’ll be out a bit late anyways and it’s a Saturday.

The concert was pretty good, especially when this guy came up to tell jokes and stories of his life. (all spoken in Chinese)

“So, you would wonder how come I joined the choir, well, I didn’t. I got signed up without knowing when my wife wanted to join a choir. I said, ‘what if I do not want to join?’ My wife then said, ‘you dare!’”

After that, the three of us decided to go eat a little snack at Coco’s, and Vicky didn’t eat any dinner, so she was starving. I got a cup of hot chocolate and ice cream! Now that I think about it, it was so fattening!! but I didn’t care, the ice cream paired with hot chocolate is so cool! Every time I took a sip and ate my ice cream, I would get the chills haha. Vicky got the salad and soup in a baguette. Yumi simply got a milkshake. I didn’t take any pictures because I forgot my camera! Sadness.

Following that, we went home and just hung out in my room and in my brother’s room…I take over his room every time he leaves, and I have to remove all my stuff out when he comes back..and my room becomes so cramped! I forgot what exactly happened, but Vicky or Yumi was tickling me to death, and I actually hate being tickled for some reason. When we were all exhausted, we just settled on the queen bed in my brother’s room. I decided to have a bit of fun and squished both Vicky and Yumi by landing on them.

Vicky: Oh my, what a lovely big & HEAVY blanket.

Yeah..and Vicky could not stop putting her butt in my face, and I exaggerated so much to make her laugh when I said, ‘ew, butt in my face!!’ -push push push-  Vicky always laugh so much on everything I do..and they are not even suppose to be funny.

Anyway, we stayed up until like 2. Yumi and Vicky took over my bed and slept in my almost 11 year old sleeping bag on the floor. Yumi and I kept on making fun of Vicky because she always takes up 2/3 of the bed…and she literally made me sleep like a log because she took up so much space!!

The next morning, Yumi was complaining to Vicky that she took up so much space, and all of us just laughed so much about that and kept on teasing her about it.

Yay! Time for cooking! Yumi is an amazing cook! We had to go to Mitsuwa to buy the ingredients for our lunch. It was pretty simple, yakisoba with vegetables & meat. At least that’s what we first planned. We bought so many things, like melon bread, drinks, dango, jello and those ice Popsicle treats. Here’s some pictures.

INGREDIENTES:

1 ½ kg de massa de mandioca

2 cocos

250 g de castanhas

2 colheres (sopa) de cravo (batidinho)

2 colheres (sopa) de erva-doce (batidinha)

2 colheres (sopa) de canela em pó

2 colheres (sopa) de manteiga

1 colher (sopa) rasa de sal

4 ovos

2 xícaras cheias de açúcar

PREPARO:

Rala-se o coco e junta-se 3 copos de água. Mistura-se tudo com os ovos ligeiramente batidos e a manteiga derretida. Leva-se a assar em tabuleiro untado. Enfeita-se com castanhas inteiras em toda a superfície do bolo. Depois de assado corta-se em quadradinhos ou losangos.

Majoritatea timpului meu pretios l-am petrecut cu prietenii. Printre prietenii mei se regasesc si cativa putin mai ciudati. Oricum asta nu are prea multa importanta. Stateam intr-o zi de vorba cu ei, si de comun acord, am ajuns la concluzia ca nu suntem foarte intregi la cap. Nu numai eu, nu suntem niciunul intreg. Mai sunt locuri si pentru noi in spitalele de nebuni ? Asta ne poate spune prietenul nostru “Mishu”, care e medic la un spital de nebuni din judetul Bacau.

De-a lungul copilariei mele zdruncinate, am fost inconjurat de rapperi. Ce sunt rapperii? Adica… Ce sunt rapperii romani? Raspuns la subiect: Rapperii romani sunt acele persoane care asculta muzica aia romaneasca de o vorbesc unii, se tin cu mana de testicule in timp ce fredoneaza versurile si dau din cap ca rockerii. Cred ca e mai mult decat buna definitia… Sa incepem cu un YOooo mare … pentru toti rapperii care asculta rap romanesc de 2 bani, bun venit in club. Nu. Nu mi-am facut club, voiam sa zic bun venit in club, atat.  Hmmm, sa nu ma inteleaga alte persoane gresit. Ascult rap, chiar rap romanesc, dar parca nu m-a luat pana acum valul atat de tare incat sa dau din cap ca un schizofrenic. Asadar, locuri la spitalele de nebuni sunt destule. Am auzit de la prietenul meu ca au nijte pastile bune tare, pentru genurile astea de boli. Nu o sa mai ai impresia ca esti rapper. Dupa medicatia prescrisa de dom` doctor, toti au sa se creada gaini si cocosi. Cu toate ca gainile sunt tot persoane de sex masculin. Sa vedeti atunci ce haios o sa fie cand apare cate un cocos si spune la cate o gaina incepatoare… “Auzi? In salonul asta eu is cocosul, asa ca pregatestete ca pici closca!”

Acum ca sa facem o mica paranteza, stiti de ce dau manelistii din cur si rockerii din cap? In urma multor analize generale am ajuns la concluzia ca “dau si ei din ce au mai bun”. Cum s-a ajuns la concluzia asta… Sa vedem.

In urma cu multi ani, intram in clasa a 9-a la un liceu din Bacau, care urma sa devina Colegiu. Nu ne intereseaza oricum prea multe detalii de genul asta. Intre altele se organizeaza si prin Bacau destule concerte. Adica se organizau inainte. Fiecare gen de concert organizat pe o tema bine conturata. Adica era vorba de un concert rock, se stia ca eu nu am ce cauta acolo. Concerte in ritm de manele nu se faceau, probabil din cauza ca toata lumea are ceva cu manelele. Dar nu e o problema asta… Mergem la discoteca… acolo avem sansa sa ne zdranganeasca maneaua in timpane toata noapte… si daca dj-ului ii place mult o piesa … o sa puna melodia aia toata noapte… la fiecare 2 piese, pac si manelutza surpriza…

“Buna searaaaaa la toata lumea… Va vorbeste Dj Mamaliga, in seara asta … vom asculta cele mai tari pese ale celor mai shucari inpertreti de muzica de petrecere… Asadar, este seara Guta & (end) Susanu cu pesa Nu ma suparati”

Acum sa ne legam de subiectul nostru… De ce dau manelistii din cur si rockerii din cap… Daca mergi intr-o discoteca de manelisti, ai sa vezi numai gaysori si gajici foarte bune…  Te uiti in stanga, apoi in dreapta… vezi o tipa faina rau de tot… muzica la maxim, danseaza … Cum danseaza ? Ridica sus antenele (mainile), si se misca provocator din restul corpului de la buric in jos… Normal ca cel mai fain lucru care il vezi e curu`. Si da din curu` ala toata noaptea pana se face lumina si se inchide discoteca… si tu te uiti ca prostu` tot toata noaptea, pana se face lumina si se inchide discoteca…. si ramai cu uitatul, pentru ca tipa era combinata cu patronul discotecii.

Te duci la un concert rock. Ce se intampla acolo… Pai sa analizam situatia. Este posibil sa fie si exceptii, dar astea se demonstreaza separat… se mai numesc exceptii la regula. Bun … Concert rock. Canta cineva… nu stiu… cineva… o trupa oarecare … dar canta rock. Toti sunt inebuniti … tipa, urla … dau din cap. Deci dau din cap. Aproape acelasi lucru ca si manelistii … Ridica antenele in aer dar acestia nu se mai misca de la buric in jos… Astia se vor misca din restul incheieturilor ramase … de la gat in sus. De ce zic ca dau din ce au mai bun ? Majoritatea persoanelor care asculta rock, sunt persoane inteligente… Ei par nebuni acolo in fata scenei, si acum sa ne aducem aminte ca cineva spunea ca daca esti destept… sau cu cat esti mai destept cu atat inebunesti mai repede… Normal trebuie sa fii putin nebun sa dai din cap ca un handicapat cand te vede atata lume … Acum eu de ce plm sa dau din cap daca sunt un amarat… vai de steaua mea… daca misc de doua ori mai tare podoaba capilara, o sa ma tavalesc pe ciment pentru ca vezi doamne am ametit… Poate imi mai pierd dreaq si constiinta pe la concert pe acolo… Dar ei, rockerii, fiind persoane inteligente cum am zis mai devreme… sunt in acelasi timp nijte persoane ambitioase. In majoritatea timpului acumuleaza o serie de cunostinte… si pentru ca vor sa stie mai mult … un concert rock e ceea ce le trebuie… se duc acolo si incep sa amestece materiile in cap, ca sa combine ceea ce stiu ei cu celalalte materii. Si uite asa se nasc rockerii “destepti”. Genii in devenire.

Probabil ca in episodul urmator vom studia putin atitudinea persoanelor care participa la concursuri de karaoke… Sa vedeti acolo cultura.

It would be good to treat yourself to dessert.

It is Day 1 of my experiment. I’m writing from Din Ho, one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants in Austin. It’s located in one of those shopping centers where all the other establishments are Asian, too: a Vietnamese restaurant specializing in Crab and Asparagus soup, a Vietnamese supermarket, and a joint called Coco’s, an Asian-variety 1950’s soda shop. 

Din Ho is the ultimate Chinese food experience. As soon as I walk in, I see those tell-tale ducks, glistening like candy apples, their necks bent in submission. A pig head glares at me. Craggy fish with bulging eyes skulk through the murky waters of an enormous tank. I order the standard Duck Noodle Soup, although the menu lists over a half a dozen other varieties: Duck Noodle Soup with Chinese Wonton, Duck Noodle Soup with BBQ Pork, Duck Noodle Soup with Dark Meat Chicken, etc.

In a place such as this, I’m sure to start my Fortune Cookie Journey off with a gong, right? I imagine the kind of fortune that has me giving all of my worldly possessions to charity, or, at the very least, speaking in tongues.

Confucius say, “It would be good to treat yourself to dessert.”

Really? That’s my first fortune? My Fairy Buddha Godmother clearly has a sick sense of humor.

Nevermind that I currently own only one pair of jeans that snug. Nevermind that I was recently told, “You should try dating black dudes. They are all about the big booty.” And nevermind that Din Ho doesn’t even serve dessert.

But there it is:  ”It would be good to treat yourself to dessert.”

I decide the only logical way to deal with this silliness is to go next door to Cocos and order some Bubble Tea, which is tea or a frothy coconut drink with tapioca balls, which settle at the bottom of the translucent cup in a way that is rather disturbing . Usually the tapioca balls have pieces of petrified fruit in them, and I order an apple-themed variety. At glance, it’s just another fast food drink in a plastic cup, except that the straw is about twice as thick. That’s so the tapioca balls can pass through. Once they do, you chew them, like gum, except after a while it’s acceptable to swallow. I must admit, I’m a little overwhelmed. It’s a drink and a candy all at once, and I am a big fan of simplicity– especially when it comes to food.

 As I drink this bizzare invention, I think about last Chinese New Year, when about ten of us ate a giant Lazy-Susan feast at First BBQ. Then we ambled across the parking lot to a Bubble Tea shop very similar to the one I’m sitting in now. It was a whole gang of us grown-ups, crammed into the bright shop, balanced on high stools, sucking on those enormous straws, and chewing like kids. We passed around our cups, sampling one another’s tapioca flavors with no fear of germs (this was before Swine Flu, folks). That night I was not overwhelmed at all. I thought Bubble Tea was the coolest thing on Earth, and I was completely happy.

So, I guess, this first fortune wasn’t so silly after all. It reminded me that anything–even Bubble Tea–can glow the light fandango when shared with the right people.

Maybe it it would be good to have dessert. But since I am rarely literal, perhaps it would be good to make more memories with good friends.

Pendant 3 jours, c’est “la fête de l’huma”, la seule kermesse où on paye, même sans y mettre les pieds.

A trecut si luna august si o data cu ea s-a dus si vara. Recunosc, sunt dependenta de caldura, nu suport toamna si sub nici o forma nu ma pot acomoda cu iarna. Acum afara e urat, ploua si e o vreme tare mohorata, cat sa-mi aminteasca ca asta a fost tot, ca trebuie sa umblu in sifonier si sa-mi scot haine mai groase, sa las sandalele deoparte si sa ma cuibaresc noaptea mai bine sub patura.

Dar sa-mi amintesc de produsele favorite in luna august, adica acele produse pe care le-am folosit  “obsesiv”.  Asadar:

Apa de toaleta NOIX DE COCO de la Yves Rocher

Am primit-o de la sora mea, ei nu ii place mirosul dulce al nucii de cocos, insa eu il ador. Am folosit aceasta apa de toaleta aproape zilnic, ma face sa ma simt speciala, dulce, mirosul ei imi da incredere in mine, ma simt mai optimista (nu ca nu as fi :p), ma simt mai feminina. Nu stiu de ce, pur si simplu acest miros de cocos ma binedispune la maxim. Nu suport cremele de corp cu aroma de fructe, nici macar cu miros de cocos, insa un strop din acest parfum face minuni pentru starea mea de spirit

Un alt produs folosit aproape zilnic este rimelul  L’oreal Telescopic Carbon Black.  La inceput nu stiam ce va face aceasta periuta ciudata pentru genele mele, insa am ramas uimita ca nu promite degeaba alungire si curbare. Nu incarca genele, nu am avut nici un mic accident in care sa ma murdaresc cu stropi de rimel, este negru intens, si isi face treaba rapid, adica nu trebuie insistat pentru a se vedea vreo diferenta. Plus de asta este si mai ieftin decat L’oreal Double Extension Carbon Black (un alt favorit al meu), pretul lui fiind de aproximativ 37 Ron.

Lacurile de unghii Flormar… imi plac enorm. Se aplica usor, se usuca repede, se mentin pe unghie mult timp, au o stralucire aparte si sunt si ieftine, doar 4 Ron.

Ador gama Bedtime de la Johnson’s Baby. Am inceput cu uleiul de baie intr-o perioada in care pielea mea era exagerat de uscata. Da, am o piele sensibila si produsele pentru bebelusi ma ajuta enorm.  M-am oprit la aceasta gama pentru ca imi place mirosul la nebunie.  Pe langa uleiul de baie, mai folosesc crema de corp, gelul de dus si mai nou sapunul. Imi place pentru ca iti curata mainile delicat, iti lasa pielea fina si usor parfumata. Gama mai contine inca 2 produse: spumant de baie si lotiune de corp (pe care doresc sa o incerc).
