i like them. they’re from Coffee Prince [a korean drama]. it’s so funny and super kilig [lol]… they should get together. i want them to make a second coffee prince but i guess that wouldn’t be nice with one member missing… you know Lee Eon?? the one who kept calling Eun-Sae his Angel? that was so funny but he looks like a good person so i don’t understand how something like that could even happen to him. i feel bad for his family.. he’s so young to go.. and he was just starting to get known in the undustry as well. Rest In Peace, Lee Eon, you will be missed by a lot of people.

anyways.. on to a lighter topic. Gong Yoo and Eun Hye.. i wish they’d get together in real life or else i will kidnap Gong Yoo and tie him up in my basement!!! LOL just kidding.. i wish they really would date though, it would be soooo cute!! i liked their chemistry in Coffee Prince..

A few days ago, we reported that Kara’s Gyuri would be taking on the role of Eun-chan (who is parodied by the character Go Eung-chan in this special) from the popular 2007 drama 1st Shop of Coffee Prince for MBC’s Sunday Sunday Night’s “Parody Theater”: and the long-awaited clip is finally here! The parody makes references to other popular dramas, however, among them being Queen of Housewives, Shining Inheritance, Temptation of Wife, and of course, 1st Shop of Coffee Prince so the plot is a little wacky, to say the least.

The Coffee Prince parody segment begins with Min Tae-bong (played by Hong Kyung-min) in bed with a woman that his grandmother set him up with, and the woman is crying by his side about how her father is going to kill her if he finds out. He wakes up and assures her that nothing happened, calling her an amateur for not doing anything else except taking his jacket off and notes that she had some trouble removing his pants. She responds by asking, “How could you not be attracted by me? Are you into men or something?”, to which he carelessly responds, “Think what you will.” The woman, furious with him, storms off to the bathroom to freshen up and Tae-bong gets a phone call from his grandmother telling him that she set up more dates for him.

Go Eung-chan (played by Park Gyuri) then makes her entrance as a hotel employee, bringing in food as room service. The situation gets a little complicated and the woman walks in on Eun-chan touching Tae-bong’s face. Upon seeing this, she cries, “So you are into men! Why didn’t you tell me before? I wouldn’t have wasted my time like this…” before walking out. At this, Tae-bong gets an idea and decides to hire Eung-chan to take care of the dates that his grandmother set up for him – and by “take care,” he means to have Eung-chan pose as his gay lover to ruin the unwanted dates that his grandmother keeps on setting up for him.

Unfortunately, his grandmother finds out about this and she proposes an ultimatum – either he gets married to a woman of her choice, or he opens up and manages a coffee shop. Needless to say, he chooses the latter and sets up his own coffee shop, hiring Eung-chan along with 3 other handsome men in order to work as waiters and to “fulfill every ajumma’s flower-boy fantasy”… And so, the story begins.

I’ve been obsessed with Korean dramas lately. I have recently finished “The 1st Shop Of Coffee Prince” It is such a great love story. “Love Story In Harvard” is also very, very good. If you are into asian dramas or dramas in general, you should check those two shows out.

“The 1st Shop Of Coffee Prince” is light-hearted and a comedy/love story of some sort. You will definitely find yourself laughing when you watch it. “Love Story In Harvard” is a little more serious than the Coffee Prince. Half of the story takes place in the US and the other half in Korea. It is a love story between a law student and a medical student.

Also, “I Love You Betty La Fea” is amazing. Some of you might know it as “Ugly Betty”. I watched the Filipino version but it was originally created in Colombia and entitled “Yo Soy Betty, La Fea”. Of course, with a lot of these dramas, it starts off being funny, but then later making you cry. This will definitely make you laugh and cry. It’s a beautiful story. I highly recommend it!

In the third part of the upcoming episode of MBC’s Sunday Sunday Night’s “Parody Theater”, Park Gyuri will play the role of flower “boy” Go Eun Chan of 1st Shop of Coffee Prince.

Dünyalar yakışıklısı içimizi taaa Kore’den ısıtan, izleyeni göreni önce bir şaşırtan sonra hayran bırakan, etkisi gelip geçici değil kalıcı olan, öyle ki 2 yıl şafak saydıran. (Sizi bilmem ben şafak sayıyorum. şu gün itibari ile 35 gün kalmış) ayıltan, bayıltan, izlerken gülümseten, gülümsetirken özleten, sımsıcak gülen, içten bakan yaradanın belkide yarattığı en güzel insanlardan biri olan Gong Yoo…

Haksız mıyım? Hiç sanmıyorum. O kadar şey yazdım-yazdık ama insanda hep eksik tasvir etmiş hissi yaratıyor bu iç gıcıklayıcı adam. Öyle hayran olmuşuz ki sevgimizi anlatırken kullandığımız engin Türkçe dağarcığımız yetmiyor gibi geliyor insana. Hep bir eksiklik hissi bırakıyor insanın üstünde.

Dizilerinde, filmlerinde her rolü adeta yaşayarak oynayan bu adam askerde bulunduğu süre boyunca hayranlarına radyo programı ile sesini duyuruyor. Lafea’nın da dediği gibi Korece bilmek sanırım burada bir ayrıcalık oluyor. Ayrıca özel yaşamına ait kesitler için kamera arkası fotoları, fotoğraf çekimleri için stütyoda bulunduğu sürede çekilen videolar, askere giderken yerlere kapanarak hayranlarına veda etmesi, radyo programındaki mütavazi konuşmaları, imza günlerinde yüzlerce imza dağıtırken önüne gelen her hayranına adını ututturan bir gülümsemeyle bakması sanırım özelde Gong Yoo ya dair bir şeyler anlatıyor. Bu güzel gülümseyen adamın ayrıca çok ta ÖZEL bir insan olduğu anlaşılıyor.

Evet askerde olan yakışıklı Yoo’muz 8 Aralık 2009′da askerliğini bitirerek sivil hayata tekrar merhaba diyecek. Gözümüz yolda dört gözle belkiyoruz. Ama elimiz boş değil Türkiye’de ki fanları arasında fikir annesi olduğum bir mektup projesi başlattık. İnşallah mektubu önümüzdeki hafta göndereceğiz. Bu konu ile ilgili daha detaylı bir güncelleme yapacağım. Çünkü yeterince uzun olduğunu düşündüğüm ilk güncellemede sizleri sıkmamalıyım diye düşündüm. Sözlerin kifayetsiz kaldığı -Allah’ım Boş Zamanında Yaratmış- dediğim bu güzel insanın iki adet resmini yükleyerek bu güncellememin sonuna geliyorum.

Y felizmente consigue uno de medio tiempo(ya que por mas que vive en casa de su amado mayordomo, las cosas no son gratis para nadie en esta vida xD ), el cual consiste en pintar la fachada de una guarderia … situacion que ella lleva de la mejor manera, no solo pintando como cualquiera lo haria sino haciendo un mural con los propios niños de la guardería . awww!

Los de la produccion no son tontos, tenian que aprovechar el talento de la chica ^^. Sobre ella contaron que estuvo muy feliz de grabar la escena y que la disfruto mucho, porque pudo jugar con los pequeños .

The title pretty much explain’s my laziness and fatigue over the last few days. I feel like I haven’t updated in ages, and in blogging terms that is true but in reality it’s an exaggeration. My mum and her boyfriend Chris went away to Florence for a few days earlier this week so I took up the opportunity to go full out relaxing yet it wasn’t really like that as I ended up pre-occupied most of the time. I was working Tuesday and then had to enroll for university but because i’m applying for a discounted tuition fees I had to do some much and had to go back and fill in forms and then again today but the offices were closed etc. So very aggravating as I had to travel to my dads by bus which is 2 hours and then back just to get rejected, did I mention that was soooo fun and the highlight of the day?

The first dumb photo is of me making an ugly hunch back of notre dame kind of expression, second is my dead fresh face hanging out with bubbles and when watching Goong/Princess Hours yeeee.

Aiish anyway I’d like to say that’s why I haven’t updated but the real reason behind it is because I’m currently on a drama high. I have strange moods and a very addictive personality which means i’ll overdose things and then get sick of it because of the saturated attention I pay towards it. Example, I used to love potatoes but I became obsessed and now I don’t like them much, same as with McDonalds. But after watching that marathon of a Coffee Prince 커피프린스 1호점 I started Goong/Princess Hours 궁 just the next day, you could say I have a Yoon Eun-Hye obsession right now (in a strictly non lesbionic way!). I finished the entire season in two and a half days, that’s got to be a record breaker right? Joon Ji Hoon makes my heart falter, well no his manly selfish character does but in real life I have no interests after he was charged with drug’s, tut tut. He seriously looks like a skinner, taller, not as attractive version of Yunho from DBSK (seriously the love of my life and I wish I was kidding). Anyway damn that drama for being so good because of it I watched it till 5am every morning and looked like a swollen eel the entire day. That is not attractive…

I bought a nice new jacket from H&M, it makes me look like I want to join the army though… combined with the studded button it seriously makes me feel like i’m trying to imitate Jeon Ji-hyun on the poster of Windstruck. Freaky stuff.

Nevermind that, as a celebration for being able to get discounted tution fees for this foundation year (i’m able to save £1500 woo) I treated myself to a pair of beautiful, soulmate ankle boot heels also from H&M. Originally I liked another pair but they made my calves look like cow humps so I bought these in the end, that are so high but strangely comfortable. But really at the end they’re just so so so so so pretty:

I don’t care if I can’t walk in them, I have to learn I am starting art university after all and might end up in the Fashion industry and everyone wear’s them so better start practicing! Worst comes to worst i’ll just stand around in them, ahhh they’ll make my feet look prettier >.<

I re-checked my uni research list and turns out I don’t have to go full out with the sketchbook, just take down notes and sketches from interesting exhibitions of things. Haven’t finished it yet, here’s a page from my book:

Anyway so that’s a general catch up of my personal doings in the last couple of days. Right now I’m just nervous about the social aspects of uni, but excited about the work side. Shouldn’t it be the other way round?

In the drama, Park Shin-hye plays fraternal twins, of whom the boy half is a member in an idol group. However, after he is injured in an accident and cannot participate in overseas events, his sister takes his place.

Park Shin-hye said, “In previous dramas, I had some difficulty because I had to play several years older than my real age, with characters 23 or 24 years old. [Park is 19.] This time, I’m playing my age and although the role is a male character, I’m approaching it comfortably.”

My Fair Lady (also known as Lady Castle) is the comeback drama for Yoon Eun-Hye after a 2 year break from the industry. Many fan’s are anticipating the up-coming drama but already people are bringing down the actress for her lacking skills and exaggerated accent. According to many netizens, the accent she puts on for the character Hyena Kang come’s across unnatural and ’strange’.

The leading lady had an interview recently where she started crying as a reaction to the strong negative criticism she has been received with for this current role.

“If I did not have to go for filming, I would definitely be crying and hiding myself at home but I can’t be like this. Whenever I think of the heartaches my parents would feel from reading the criticisms on my acting skills, it drives me crazy. I decided to bear with all the pressure and forcedly film with a smile in my face. But there are many times when it gets hard and tears start rolling down my face. I am very afraid of making transformations now. If I were to challenge a new character and it takes the audiences a long time to accept it, and I would have to go through such harsh criticisms, I really do not know what to do. This makes me afraid.”

Despite the flak she received for My Fair Lady, Yoon maintained an optimistic outlook and expressed, “As more and more episodes are aired, there are even more encouragements and praises. I feel that the audiences’ harsh criticisms and comments are the main motivating factors for me on to perform even better.”

To be honest you see more of Yoon Sang Hyun’s acting if anything.

I haven’t watched it yet and haven’t bothered to search for it online, yet. But what do you guys think, she’ll be good or bad?

I finished watching Coffee Prince again last night and it was immensely enjoyable. Man, I got hooked aka would cry everytime I checked the time and realised I had to be at work within the next hour.

First off problems with the drama. Yoon Eun-Hye or Go Eun Chan look’s nothing like a boy, she has female eyes and mouth, and her voice is a give away. I suppose the producer’s don’t want us to take it too seriously. Okay now I have no more problems…goes to show how much I liked it (compared to Boy’s Over Flower’s which was obesessive to watch but a flop in terms of acting and reality).

Yoon Eun-Hye was very cute and her character knew how to eat so I really related to that characteristic hehe but I couldn’t stop staring at her teeth the entire time… I started to become attracted to Han Seong probably for his glasses and found his face quite pleasant to observe. Han Kyul on the other hand I didn’t find attractive (sure was a good clothes horse though) but became attracted to his relationship with Go Eun Chan. Continously throughout the episodes I started to become envious of what they had, yes I realise they’re fictional but it makes me think about relationships in general.

I like that in Asian culture it’s important to not give yourself away at such a young age and to anyone. I hate that in London/UK so many people have sex at the young age of 14, have one night stands and get knocked up with some random guy from a club. My cousin is 28 years old and she’s never had a boyfriend, I admit that’s old even in conservative terms but I respect that she wont just get with any guys just to be in a relationship. She takes into factors like marriage and family which is hugely imporant, otherwise what is the point in dating? Yes some people argue that dating is fun, but suffice to say you date to find a person compatible and lovable enough to get married and start a family.

Watching this stuff makes me reflect on my relationship past, it’s not much of one since I’m only 19 but goes to show how different I feel now as i’m fully absorbed into Asian/Chinese culture in the last few years. I’ve only had one boyfriend of 2 years yet if I could I’d go back and choose not to have dated till near the age of 20 so i’m old enough to understand the importance of the choices i’m making as I probably wasn’t. I’m one of those girls that don’t want to date around, i’m very obesessed with monogamy so I’d rather just date 2-5 guys in my entire lifetime. Why I want that is because I feel relationship history is important, who wants to be with someone who’s had 60 boyfriends/girlfriends or has had their body passed around. In the future I want to be a good wife, make breakfast together, go travelling and art traipsing . Now I don’t want that to get muddled up with assuming I want to ’settle down’ and throw away my dreams before i’ve begun. I’d rather get a concrete career and get everything out of life that I possibly can as a single person, then ’settle down’.

Anyway in Coffee Prince Han Kyul is a playboy, it’s weird girl’s say they hate those type but secretly they love them. They want to be able to tame a lion and say ‘he used to drink and chase girls, now he’s in love with me’. I guess drama follows those types of guys and without heartache love wouldn’t be interesting. Playboys are funny, most of them acting tough on the outside but inside they’re as mushy as a banana past it’s sale-by-date. At least those kind of guys are one level higher enough to wear it on their sleeves, rather than the guys that act like they are monogomous but always think of promiscuous acts with anyone but their girlfriend. You know what also pisses me off? guys and builders who say ”dat bird is a a right minger” its like wow you’re calling that girl ugly, have you looked in the mirror recently because you would be lucky if she even wanted to look in the direction of your dirty face. Looooove it when men have standards like that.

Think that’s all that’s on my mind right now. Yup.

Yoon Eun-hye was much-loved for her spunky portrayals of characters in dramas Goong and Coffee Prince, and has a solid track record of picking hit projects. So it’s no surprise that anticipation was sky-high for her comeback drama, KBS’s My Fair Lady — and while it’s performing decently with ratings around 14%-15%, it’s nowhere near the smash hit expected of her. Furthermore, her acting has been harshly criticized, as it seemed she’d regressed in her skills since her last role, which makes My Fair Lady a modest project tinged with disappointment.

“It was really upsetting, I thought I’d go crazy”

Underneath her sharply drawn eyeliner, her eyes start to redden with tears. This is actress Yoon Eun-hye, who plays the immature chaebol and corporation heir Kang Hae-na in KBS 2TV’s Wednesday-Thursday drama My Fair Lady. She had transformed dramatically from the easy-going girl dressed as a boy (Coffee Prince) to a conceited, snobby “princess complex” character, but can this reaction be because of the public’s chilly response? After I asked her about the criticism she has received for her acting when I met her in a cafe on the 9th, the tears started flowing.

“If I didn’t have to film, I would have cried all day in my room… but I couldn’t do that. I thought of how upset my parents would feel to read all those articles slamming my acting, and I felt like going crazy. There were a lot of times when I endured through it and smiled as I filmed, only to end up with tears trickling out. Now, I’m afraid of making transformations. Each time, people grow familiar with the character, but if it takes a long time and hurts me every time, I don’t know what to do, and I feel afraid.”

However, “The longer I do this, there are more voices joining in to encourage and praise me. I took the viewers’ criticism in the beginning to mean that I shouldn’t be arrogant,” she says with a wide smile.

In the beginning part of the drama, the issue that was pointed out the most regarding her acting was her unnatural speech and accent. Yoon Eun-hye says, “Actually, there was criticism of my speech when I shot Coffee Prince too. I think it may have been more of a problem in this drama because Hae-na is someone who speaks bluntly, and people expect a certain image of a chaebol. But my teachers tell me that Hae-na’s character comes across as more personal when she talks in an unlikable way.”

Every episode, Kang Hae-na wears flashy clothing and makeup that would be difficult to pull off in real life. In order to reinvent herself into a polished, glamorous image out of her former plucky one, Yoon Eun-hye is treading a difficult path. She says, “I feel how difficult it is for a woman to work at being pretty. When I was doing Coffee Prince, I just washed my face and applied lotion and skin cream and I was ready to film. But compared to back then, now I have to get up two hours earlier to do my makeup.” The high-heeled shoes are another burden: “I wear high heels that are about 12 to 13 cm high, and after filming for a long time, my legs are swollen like an elephant’s.”

However, in her mind, Hae-na isn’t a feminine type of woman. “She always acts forceful, but she has such a pure heart that she makes a lot of mistakes. That’s why she can’t regulate her own feelings that well, and she can also seem like a dumb child. You can’t see her as perfectly feminine.”

As a result of her successful transformation to actor, there is one fact that is largely forgotten: that she started out as a pop singer in the idol group Baby VOX. Considering that she participated in recording a track, “I Love You,” last year with the hip-hop group Mighty Mouth, it seems she still has a lingering attachment to singing. She says, “I stood onstage for six years. Even now, my heart races when I see singers passionately performing. But the younger singers coming out these days receive a lot of training and have a lot of talent, so I wonder if I’d be able to live up to that. In any case, I’ve always felt disappointed that I was a singer back when I couldn’t sing that well and wasn’t very skilled.”

Following Coffee Prince, she took a two-year hiatus. At the time, she immersed herself in drawing and painting. Prior to her debut, she deliberated very seriously between whether she should be an entertainer or painter. She says, “I draw abstract paintings that show the state of my feelings as they are.” Only a completed painting merits full points. She adds, “When I have amassed a lot of paintings done under the same theme, I’d like to hold an art exhibit.”

She says of herself, “I’m reaching that age where I mature as an actor and as a woman. I’d like to show my talents little by little, but the unfortunate thing is that a lot of people don’t want to give me time for failure. I’d like to learn more as I experience failure too. I wish people would not brand an actor as a failure through one mistake.”
