Essa música me lembra muito quando comecei a trabalhar na empresa que estou atualmente. Era uma fase de renovação, de traçar novas metas e renascer para uma nova vida.

Ela marcou um momento da minha vida afetiva na época, quando eu “abri mão” de viver alguns sentimentos pra me dedicar totalmente a vida profissional.

So it’s been 10 days since my last post. I’ve tried writing a few posts, but they all felt very lackluster, uninspiring, and, well, boring. I mean, I know I’m not the liveliest or most talkative person to begin with, but through my writing, I’m usually more able to express a side of me that I don’t usually expose to the “real world”. So I’ve decided that even though this post may not be especially interesting or creative, and may be all over the map, I’m going to post it anyway.

34 Maitland Street, Toronto. They have an apartment available right now, but I’m looking to move for January 1st. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and praying that no one takes it! I’m not going to say too much about why this place is absolutely perfect for me because I don’t want to jinx my chances of getting it, but if you were to see this place, you’d think “that’s so Aminah!” (for those of you that actually know me, at least!)

I have one more interview to go, but I already know I have it in the bag – I mean, who can resist my charm, right? (haha,  just kidding!) When you really want to become part of a certain team, it’ll show, and well, as much as this also serves as my concrete means of survival (freelance work is too unstable), I actually love the vibe of their environment and everything this company has done to show their support of world issues. It would be an absolute pleasure to grow with them! Once again, I’m not giving details just in case!

They say to surround yourself with like-minded people and those who’ll encourage strength, resilience, and courage, and to leave behind the rest. Have no doubt, I’m weeding out the fear-mongers and anyone else who tells me  that I should anything else but fly. It’s time I spread my wings and show this world what I’m made of.

And in unrelated news, I have to admit that it wasn’t until the Kanye/Swift rift took place that I even knew who Taylor Swift was. Again, I wondered if I was reading about a man? Or perhaps some sort of cartoon character like Jimmy Neutron? Then Kanye decided he’a let her finish, and now the entire world knows who TS is. Which is nice, because now I also know the difference between TS and Colbie Caillat, since- to my ears- they too sound the damn-same! Upon further investigation, I found that not only do these girls sound alike, they also look like other famous folks. Alas, poor Miley Cyrus will  only always look like Billy Ray minus mullet (for now), plus boobies.

PS- why does it look like Taylor Swift has already had some form of eye lift surgery? Isn’t she only like, 17?

Colbie Caillat is one of many artists that 101.9 The End proudly brags about being one of the first stations in the country to play. She is now enjoying the success of her sophomore album, Breakthrough. The second single from that release is today’s Spotlight: “I Never Told You”. This is one of the songs she played at her recent End Zone (which you can listen to at 1019theend.com).

Reaction to the song was split by medium. Phones were almost completely negative, while texts were almost completely positive. Tammy called in and said, “I like her, but that’s a little too melancholy.” Brandtly called in to say, “Honestly, I thought it was kind of boring. It just wasn’t that catchy.” Meanwhile, Justin texted, “I would like 2 hear it in regular rotation. She’s an amazing artist and this song is great.” And Jeff said, “colbie can do no wrong.”

Last night though i was exhausted from the days work, while i was browsing some mp3s. I stumble upon a great album. It is Colbie Caillats’ 2009 Album – Breakthrough. The songs are really great and i really loved it!

I’m really a music lover and i listen to different kinds of genre! And this album is very much recommended to people who love listening to pop and mellow songs. It’s really relaxing and colbie’s voice is really beautiful!

Most people know the feeling of having a song stuck in your head. Maybe it’s a television commercial. Maybe it’s somebody’s annoying ringtone, or some hideous chipmunk trio. But it happens to everybody.

It always hits when you’re trying to fall asleep. I kinda like that. It gives me something interesting to listen to as I fall asleep.

What I can’t explain is the disturbing trend that I’ve noticed recently. Instead of falling asleep with a song stuck in my head, I wake up with one in there. And I have no idea how it got there, where it comes from, nothing.

The worst part of it is that I usually eat breakfast alone. Which means I’m sitting by myself with nothing but the title theme from “Oklahoma” playing over and over and over again. My spirits are as soggy as my frosted flakes.

Since blasting loud rock music all throughout the house at an ungodly hour of the morning won’t keep my popularity around here very high for long, I can only see one solution for now: to find the source of the music.

My theory is that somewhere, somehow, there is an enemy of mine. And this enemy sneaks into my bedroom, under cover of darkness, and plays the chosen abomination of the night, very softly, right next to my ears.

Which would explain why I woke up with Lady Gaga in my ears the last five days in a row. Unless there’s some very disturbing psychoanalyzation issues going on here.

And I don’t think I know anybody who could be that cruel.

But if I ever do catch this weasel at it, I’ve got a wonderful mix of Colbie Caillat and Taylor Swift that I will use to reduce them to a simpering, babbling mass of their former selves.

I’m a measly 4,500 words off my goal.

It couldn’t be helped. There weren’t enough hours in the weekend to work, hang out with some friends, and write. Something had to be dropped. Stuck between real life and the imaginary, I had to choose the real. I’m pretty sure that it was worth it, too.

The cheesy romance is going quite well though. There have been an ample amount of villians, an appropriately studly hero, a possible love-triangle, and a chance for someone to have amnesia. Maybe I should be writing a serial soap opera instead.

Mr. A-Z has just released another album and it is sensational.

It’s live from Earth, includes three new songs, remixed versions of his old songs and the whole dvd of the concert.

The best part about this album is Jason’s cover of All night long which is brilliant and makes you want to get up and dance.

I know I describe his music as feel good a lot, but this albums vibe is more about feeling great. The old songs are sung in just a slightly different way and makes everything a little different and way more funky.

This album can’t be described in words, it needs to be heard through lyrics, melody and rhythm. It truly is fantastic. I can’t wait for the holidays to start and have this blasting through the speakers all summer long.
