To me, a collar has virtually the same significance as a wedding ring, absent only the legal status.

To me, a collar has virtually the same significance as a wedding ring, absent only the legal status.

When I accept one (other than in a situation in which it is clearly only being used as a toy for the purposes of a scene), what it means to me is that I belong to this man heart and soul, and I am making a lifetime commitment to him and to the relationship, to do whatever it takes that is within my power to do to build that relationship and nurture it, no matter what happens, to be in it for the long haul, through thick or thin. It means I’d go to the ends of the earth for him and us – and that he would do the same for me. It binds me to him for life.

I have only been explicitly collared full time to one dominant, I did fully intend to spend the rest of my life with him. We had explicitly discussed the intention to develop a lifetime commitment, spent years waiting to be able to finally be together…

In one prior relationship, the permanence of the collar was never explicit, and its meaning was somewhat vague for a variety of reasons. It was uncomfortable, because I didn’t even find out until after the fact that he’d considered it a full time collar, while I had never known that was his intention, and because I hadn’t yet fully developed my own sense of what a collar meant to me – and frankly, I don’t think he knew what he meant by it, either. At that point, and in that situation, it was more like going steady, at least in part because it wasn’t as explicit.

Having come to the recognition that it does in fact represent a promise of permanence to me, though, I will never again accept a collar from someone I don’t expect I’d be both willing and able to spend my whole life with, or from anyone who does not share the same sense of what it means in terms of the intended duration of the relationship. Whether we can actually make that happen or not is a different story, and sadly that is not always possible, ultimately, but I go into it with the intention that it will, and that I will give it everything I’ve got.

(Actually, I don’t even like using them in play most of the time unless it’s with someone I do have that sort of commitment to. I’ve found that my head starts to go there even with casual play partners, and that’s not a good thing for me. I like the feel and the headspace it brings me during the scene, but it is an item that is too full of other significance for me, and I can’t separate it out from the physical object.)

I like the feel and look of having his collar around my neck when I’ve been collared. Around the scene, I do like to be seen in it, as it is a symbol of my belonging to that man, and frankly, I find it hot to feel the leather, to know it’s locked, to be able to feel him pull me to him by my throat, to know the level of control that gives him. It gives me a feeling of belonging and security like nothing else can.

I also really like having a necklace I can wear in the vanilla world as an every day collar, that works with my personal clothing style and other jewelry, and won’t call attention to what it is or look out of place the way a leather one would. I know what it means, and the feel of it around my neck, the sight of it whenever I look in the mirror, the ability to reach up and touch it at any time are all the reminders I need. I’m not out to most of the people in my life, and it would cause me problems I’m not willing to deal with to be too overt about such symbols, plus a large part of my identity is very tied up in dressing well and appropriately, and that’s essential for most of my lifestyle outside the scene.

I don’t need others to know what it means. All they need to know, if they ask, is that it is a special gift from someone special, and yes, it does have a special meaning that I usually don’t expound upon further. I know what that is, and so does he, and that’s all that matters to me. Sometimes, I’ll say that it means I’m his, which is something that even vanillas get, although there’s a difference from what we mean. It’s there, close to my heart, all the time. It brings me comfort, especially when we are apart, and reminds of who I belong to, of the bond we share.

Regardless of what the physical object is, however, it’s always been much more about the heart connection and commitment between the two of us, no matter what, and something I don’t need to show off to anyone else, even in the scene. If the emotional bond and commitment aren’t there to start with, the physical object means nothing and doesn’t create them, and if that commitment is there, again, the physical object doesn’t make it any more real. Whether leather or otherwise, it’s a touchstone that helps ground me and remind me, and an external sign that I appreciate having, but the real collar is the one wrapped around my heart, that no one else can physically see or touch, and that cannot be removed…

I don’t think I’d particularly like having an entire wardrobe of different collars (of the sort that are meant to be permanent collars), either leather or for every day like some people have, something different to match every outfit. That would feel too much like playing dress-up instead of having one constant symbol of that commitment like an engagement or wedding ring is.

For times when I am able to wear the leather one, my ideal is a substantial, fairly heavy but soft (and softly lined) one with a built-in lock or hasp for one that binds the entire thing firmly around my neck with no gaps, that will fit comfortably and mold itself in time to my neck. I need to know that I *cannot* get out of it, at least not without a hell of a lot of work. It needs to fit comfortably, like a second skin, without chafing, choking, or pinching. The leather needs to make a complete circle around my neck, leaving no gaps. It needs to be wide enough and substantial enough that he can get a good grip on it, that it won’t be damaged by long term use or pulling on it, but still narrow enough to fit my short neck without discomfort. A collar that pinches or is otherwise uncomfortable becomes too much of an annoyance to be worth much as a symbol of something important. It will always be an irritant, which is not what you want for something that carries this much meaning, and that very irritation alone can strike deep into the relationship itself.

I’ve acclimated to and come to enjoy and appreciate other, lighter options, and indeed to having more than one used for that purpose including some matching to clothing, and worn them proudly. The one I wore most often in particular still means the world to me because of what it still means about the commitment I made to the one who placed it around my neck. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, and my heart still belongs to him.

But given my druthers about the physical object itself, all other things being equal, I’d still always pick one heavier piece if for no other reason than because I can feel it much more, which feeds my headspace more.

What does a collar mean to you?

What do you prefer it to be made of?

Hello all, So, the way things worked out, Sir ended up staying here at home for an extra day before

Hello all,

So, the way things worked out, Sir ended up staying here at home for an extra day before leaving to take care of his mother.

(warning: this is the unsexy part of the post, but necessary)
Before I get into the details, can I ask you all to take five seconds out of your day and send some prayers/positive thoughts/warm fuzzies into the universe? His mother is having surgery to remove a cancerous tumour and the doctors won’t know if the cancer has spread until they get in there. So please, good thoughts. I’d appreciate it immensely.
(Okay, thank you. On to the rest of the deets.)

So, as I said, Sir was able to stay for an extra day. On Tuesday night we had a romantic date night. I was a stupid girl and kept letting my emotions run out of my eyeballs, but overall it was a really nice night. We went to dinner, came home, turned the lights down and danced in the living room, watched a movie and held each other. Wednesday morning he called his mother, who said that there was some bad weather in her part of the province, and said that maybe he should wait another day. After an hour of so of indecision, Sir decided to stay. He went in to work to take care of some things and then came back and retreated to his computer for a while. I was not about to get in his way; I figured that he had enough on his plate without me asking for any more of his attention. I started working on my writing, and no sooner had I gotten into a good rhythm than he slumped down next to me on the couch, stroked my hair and asked if I’d like to use the extra night as another opportunity for a date night. I nodded, knowing from the half grin on his lips what he meant.

I got my collar on, put on my knee high boots at his request and did as he asked. I ran a shower for him and while he was in there, I took my vibrator, splayed myself on the bed and worked myself up until I almost came. When I heard the water shut off, I got up, panting and dripping with excitement, and took Sir’s favorite towel. I dried him off, took him back to the bed and sucked his cock. I got a few swats on the ass as a correction for gripping too hard (a bad habit when I get lost in what I’m doing), and was not permitted to finish him off. I made him a cup of coffee and then he told me to “gather the supplies”, which is his way of telling me it’s time for me to shave his crotch.

Me shaving him is one of the most relaxing activities in our repertoire. He loves sitting in his chair with me kneeling between his legs. I get a bowl of warm water, his shaving cream, razor and a towel, and with tender loving care, shave him slowly. He feels relaxed and content, and I feel happy for a job well done.

After the shave, and Sir nearly purring with happiness, I took his soft penis in my mouth and let it grow into my throat. It felt wonderful. Sir pulled me up onto his lap and had me bounce on him, working my thigh muscles intensely. After a little while, he picked me up, threw me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and threw me down onto the bed. He pumped himself into me, spit on my clit and rubbed me until I was begging to cum. When he finally said yes, I exploded in orgasm, then he showered me with his own.

Right after I cleaned myself up, Sir told me to go to the bathroom and get down on all fours. As a special treat, Sir administered a 1L warm water enema. It felt delightful. He chuckled and smiled as I writhed in discomfort as I took the last of the water. He had me hold it for a while before he left me alone to expel. He loves the humiliation I feel as I let the water come back out of me, but didn’t stick around for too long. When I finally came out of the bathroom, Sir informed me that he’d ordered food and when it arrived we would eat and watch another movie. In the meantime, he had me rub his back and talk with him. When the food arrived, we sat on the couch, put the movie on, ate the hot take-out, and got our energy back up. When the food was gone, I was sent to the floor to kneel at his side while we watched. He stroked my hair for a while, but then wanted me to come back onto the couch to hold me.

Twice more in the night, we fucked, fooled around and said wonderfully nasty things to each other. There wasn’t much pain play, other than some hard tit and ass slapping. At the end of the night, as we were falling asleep in each others arms, Sir whispered in my ear, “You have made this night wonderful. I am so proud of you.” I fell asleep with my heart so full of love I felt as though I might burst. Knowing that I’d served him so well all night, that it was so natural and so fulfilling, was an amazing feeling.

This morning he left, and called when he arrived at his mother’s place. Tomorrow they go to the hospital. Sometime in the next few days he’ll be back in the city to get the rest of his things together to move to his mother’s. I’m hoping, both for her sake and for mine and Sir’s, that all goes well tomorrow. I miss him already and he’s only been gone for twelve hours.

Five seconds of positivity. Thank you.

<3 Ruby

In a sneak preview of what the 2012 Mayan prophecy has in store for us along the lines of the catacl

In a sneak preview of what the 2012 Mayan prophecy has in store for us along the lines of the cataclysmic demise of the earth, we awoke yesterday morning in our fair town of Perth to a bleary, smoke-filled morning and a barely discernable red-glowing sun. Apparently, there is so much smoke from the surrounding bushfires that you can see it from space:

(Perth is hidden under that stream of smoke where it heads off to the sea just above the cloud cover. Photo: thanks to our friends at NASA for having nothing better to do than take pictures of smoke all day.)

The cover of smoke has dropped the temperature so much that I took turkey stew for lunch AND wore boots to work. Now that’s a pretty significant drop in temperature considering I was ridiculously hot on Sunday wearing nothing but my shiny thing – and even that felt hot and heavy.

I pointed out to Master on Sunday about the said shiny thing feeling like it was on fire and choking me at the same time, thinking that perhaps I could get a dispensation from wearing it while the temperature was nudging OMGHOT like I do with boots during summer, but of course his response was,

“What are you?”

To which I responded,

“Hot.” (of course…)

And he gave me ‘the look’ and I responded with the appropriate required response,

“Your slave.”

To which he said,

“Well, there’s your answer then.”

But I wasn’t about to give up so easily, so I put on my best sad & mournful face and asked him how he’d feel if he was in my position and had to wear the fucking shiny thing (thinking to get a bit of a sympathy vote…)

“I’d hate it,” he said.

Hurrah! I thought. I could see the headlines now:

Sneaky Slave Scores Shiny Symbol Separation

But my celebrations were short-lived:

“But you’re a slave, so suck it up buttercup.”

It’s moments like this I hate that he reads other blogs. They give him all sorts of unsavoury ideas like not giving in to your uberly-cute slavegirl when she bats her eyelids at you.

So can everyone write happy-joy-joy stories about how much of a push-over their domly folk are please? The smoke is starting to clear and shiny-thing-wearing folk are getting desperate!

This product: funky alternatives! Early version of Storm Trooper before filming for Star Wars even begin as desinged by Ralph Mcquarrie.

In early versions of Lucas’s story the Storm Troopers were trained in and used light sabers! As well as shields!

In General: Back in the early 80’s my brother bought a Ralph Mcquarrie “Star Wars” “Portfolio” with “Letterbox” style pre-production paintings for the “first” “Star Wars” film. I remember how my imagination ran wild with the “alternate” versions of all the main characters. I espescially dug the Luke vs. Darth Vader painting where Vader had this very wolf-like mask where the top helmet was much more Samuri looking and the mouth grill came out like the snout of a wolf (an Luke looked cool with the oxygen mask too).
The Stormtroopers looked cooler too, and they had lightsabers! and shields!
And the painting of the two droids was cool because R2 looked much more expressive and functional, and 3PO looked just like the robot from “Metropolis”.

Anyway, someone, somewhere, had the brilliant idea to actually make action figures based on these early pre-production paintings by McQuarrie!

I’ve managed to purchase the first 8 of the 12 thus far (Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, Luke, C-3PO and R2-D2, Chewbacca, & Ben Kenobi and Yoda) and look forward to the final 4 (Leia Starkiller, Han [George Lucas] Solo, Snowtrooper, and the one I’ve been wanting since around 1980: McQuarrie Darth Vader!).

Bottom line, amazing sculpts, genius idea, a must have for die-hard SW fans!

//

Well, here’s the official {Freaky Deaky} blog! I figured, since it’s freeeeeeezing outside here in Boston (my poor toes are cold) and I have nothing else to do, I would get my butt in gear and blog. I have quite a bit of news to share, so read on!

We’ve moved! We used to be in the basement of the Nightshade Designs main store, but Bella got that remodeling itch and luckily had a stall open for Izzy and I to filch ourselves into in her re-designed mall. It’s a nice little building with incredibly high ceilings, you can find the LM in my in world profile. I’ll also be sending out a group notice & SOM notice to all you lovelies.

With any luck, I’ll be opening a mainstore soon. It won’t be big at first, but I hope that both it and myself will grow. =)

With the remodel and move comes two new goodies for you!

The Sting of Life Choker:

The Sting of Life

Thought up between myself and a friend when she started talking about how I should do something with an anhk, and scorpions. It got her seal of approval last night, haha. A simple dual banded collar with leather studs, while two scorpion claws grip it and merge into a glossy black anhk, it comes with two default attachment points (chest or spine).

Telin Bead Bracelet (Group Gift!):

Telin Bead Bracelet

My first group gift, which will be released probably later today or Sunday (whenever I can get it boxed, lol). For those who found my snowflake bracelet in the Nightshade Hunt (get going if you haven’t!), this is similar in design. It’s a wrap around bead bracelet with a soft wooden texture, held together by small links. I can easily say it’s one of my favorite pieces.

Those are the two big releases, with more to come. I’m going to try my hand at piercings, maybe a few more belts and chokers… I’ll be braving the wide world of clothing soon enough, starting with boots! I’m so excited!

Thanks for reading, Freaks!

She knelt on the bearskin rug on the hearth, hands on her thighs, hair falling down around her lowered face. The fire crackled and popped, casting an orange glow over her pale skin. He stood with his hand on the mantle, watching her from behind. He wanted to reach out and stroke her hair, run his hands down her back. He needed to touch her, to take her, but he waited. Control. He had to be in control, but the sight of her there, naked and kneeling was driving him crazy.

She had come to him a year ago, a gift from his parents for his eighteenth birthday. A servant girl to entertain a prince. She had knelt to him then, but there had been fire in her eyes and a stubborn slant to her chin. The past year had been a journey for them both, full of joy, sorrow, excitement and conflict. All leading to this day, where she knelt willingly and submissively on the rug, waiting to serve him.

Had it really only been a year?

~~~
The hall grew quiet as King Samsen and Queen Sylvia rose from the table. Prince Jayceon returned from the dance floor to stand beside them. At a motion from the King, the guards swung open the doors, and two men entered, flanking a young woman, dressed in an iron collar attached to iron manacles, and a small leather skirt. The men in the crowd murmured and stared. The women eyed her critically. Jayceon bit his lip and looked between her and his parents as she was marched to the front of the room and shoved to her knees.
“Happy birthday, Jayceon.” The King announced. “Since you have not chosen a wife, yet, this one will take care of you until you do.”
Jayceon looked at his mother, she was smiling, but her lips were thin and she glared at the girl. He looked back at her and realized why. She was looking up at them all with undisguised fury. He took a step back and then laughed. The tension in the room broke with his grin.
“What’s your name?”
“Ciera.”
“Well met, Ciera. Thank you for coming to my birthday party, though you look decidedly unhappy to be here.”
She did not answer, nor did she drop her gaze.
“Perhaps you would be more comfortable waiting elsewhere?” He motioned to her guards who pulled her to her feet and led her back the way they had come.
“She’s a wild one, Jayceon.” The Kind confided. “You’ll enjoy her, I wager.”
“Samsen, she’ll bite his head off rather than serve him, what possessed you to pick such a girl?” The Queen hissed as the room filled with chatter again.
“You worry too much, Sylvia. Our boy can handle that small wisp of a thing.”
Jayceon was sure he could handle her, but wisp was not the word he would have used to describe her. She had perfectly round breasts the size of golden apples. Her belly was smooth and her hips rounded out in delicious curves. Her thighs were solid and her calves well muscled. Her arms were thin and her hands soft and slender. Her long black hair ran down to the small of her back and her skin was pale and creamy. No, not a wisp at all.
“Jayceon?”
“What? Oh? Sorry.” He realized that other people were offering him gifts now, and he tried to focus, smiling, and thanking them each in turn, but the girl filled his mind and he wanted nothing more than to rush back to his rooms to see her.
So all of the rush of the Fall season is now starting to wind down. And finally too! The biggest stressor in my schedule is my job, and I don’t even work that much compared to a regular adult. I work at Beth Merritt Photography in Troy, MI. I first got my job in the last quarter of my 8th grade year. I found it on Craigslist ,oddly enough, and it was asking for a highschooler in the title. Kind of spooky right? Well I did my research and she came up clean. I did the interview and a few days later I found out that I got the job. As it turns out, I had beaten a few college graduates at it as well. Me being only 13 at the time, it was pretty awesome. The work that I do there isn’t easy like stocking shelves either (although sometimes I wish that was my job). I use Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom to edit and finalize photos for clients and on occasion do some IT work there too. The clients we work for get what they pay for though. As I found out today, we can sell a wall layout of framed images for up to $1700 and most clients spend at least 1/2 of that in regular prints. But now we’re starting to wind down. Closing up shop for winter similarly to Dairy Queen. It gives me that “End of School/Summer Vacation” feeling. It’s awesome! And my advice to those of you who are looking for jobs, obviously find a job that you like but when you do that, think in the long term. Would you enjoy doing what you do now 3-5 years from now? You might have to sleep on that one first.
Have a great weekend,
Tristan
