On Monday I did some dark room photography. I had completed the induction in my 1st year and had really enjoyed it and liked the outcomes. So because I wanted to use different processes in my project, I decided I wanted to do some dark room photography, also because I had enjoyed doing it. I hadn’t done any dark room work since the induction, so kindly Harpreet reminded me of the process, as I didn’t want to go there and muck anything up.

The idea behind the photograms is that the character to my story, Alice , has been collecting interesting objects along her journey through the enchanted forest. However when an Ogre swoops her up and off her feet all of the interesting objects she has been collecting, fall out of her pocket on to the forest floor. So I wanted to create some photograms, with different objects just scattered, as if they have just landed there.

This photogram was taken on old photo paper, which is why the colour is more faded. I like the effect and texture of the paper, created by it being years old.

About three of the photograms on the new paper didn’t work out. (I bought new A5 photopaper after experimenting with the last piece of the old paper). I like how on the 3 that didn’t work out, you can still see tiny bits of the objects. On this one above you can see the most.

There is even more interesting detail when you view them in real life and up close. Some of the objects have turned out really nice, with a great effect being created. Now I will experiment with them more, take some better photographs and put one of them into a spread to she how they work.

This collection started when my colleague Joyce Mangrobang gave me a DIY miniature kit on my birthday last September 4, 2007. I got so fascinated with it and bought more kits.

I had mentioned quite a few posts ago about working on the ASI INVADER Ferrari F430 for the 2009 SEMA YEAR. Well, unfortunately a plethora of things happened, schedulings and what not and was unable to complete it. BUT, not showing up to SEMA without the Ferrari was not an option. So To no avail the quality work and team that brought this together was GT Pro in conjunction with Mastermind (TR Trading). The Amazing thing is the whole project took about 2 weeks to build, and was actually put together in three days. Such quality work in a short amount of time is highly impressive and I am glad to see that the car was able to show up.

Burberry Prorsum have unveiled a lovely little peek at their new menswear line for 2010. As you can probably tell military styling is a big influence – Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s CCO, has spoken of the new line:

Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey mined Burberry’s military heritage for the Prorsum pre-fall season with a battalion of weatherproof wool felt coats cinched with chunky belts, leather and shearling aviator jackets, and gabardine trenches. “This collection is anchored in history, and what you’re seeing is a roll-call of Burberry outerwear,” said the designer. “I love mixing different decades ­— but using modern fabrics.” He said the brand’s new social networking Web site, artofthetrench.com, got him thinking about the ways Burberry trenches have been worn over the years.

But there are soft edges, too, with Victorian elements, such as silk dresses overlaid with delicate lace and even lace-covered trenches. And Bailey easily brings hard and soft together: Wool sweaters have silky bow-shaped epaulets, while bows and ruffles take the edge off sharply tailored skirts and peplums add flourish to military-inspired suit jackets. Colors range from brooding dark greens and blacks to khaki and nude.

In an earlier post I mentioned my desire for a Burberry trenchcoat – having seen these designs I have to say I really want the very first one… far too cool for school. And too expensive for James, no doubt. Sigh….

I want to get myself a pretty recipe binder to collect all my recipes in. Working with magazines I’ve got so much inspiration – all categories. I love finding new and fun recipes to try and my collection is constantly growing – when will I find time to bake it all!?

I came across this adorable recipe binder on freflare.com and it’s exactly what I have been looking for – only it’s an american binder so I’d need a special whole punch to put my pages in it, Swedish/European hole punches punch four holes as opposed to the standard three in american binders. Why can’t it all just be the same worldwide?

We all know and love Urban Outfitters for their grungy, sheer, trendy deliciousness that keeps young girls and grown women alike browsing their site late at night (me) and running to the stores for their beautiful 20.00$ sales (sadly, me as well). However, sometimes all the gray, black, grunge and laid back styling can become blah and less beautiful. Therefore, Urban Outfitters’ more ladylike label, Leifsdottir (don’t ask me to pronounce it), will be expanding their ensembles outside the Urban Outfitters stores. The new places we can find these beautiful and modestly priced garments? Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and Bloomingdales. Oh la la, no?

An online store is rumored to be launching soon, but until then, enjoy these looks from the Spring 2010 collection. And if you’re like me, you are scheming ways to get a hold of these beautiful pieces before the rest of the world sniffs the loveliness.

I guess when it comes to giving Mick Jagger a present, you got to think the guy has just about everything.
I mean what could you possibly give him he either couldn’t buy himself or doesn’t already own?
Clothes. Nah.

Hmmmmmm, how ’bout a nice watch?

Well that’s exactly what Ahmet Ertegun gave Mick Jagger back
sometime in the early 70’s.
An Eterna Matic Concept 80 wristwatch.
He had engraved on the back, Mick Here’s to a Million or 2? Ahmet.
My guess he was talking about the sales of an upcoming album.
Maybe Sticky Fingers or Exile given the time period.
Since at this point The Stones had just recently come on board with Atlantic, it’s not unusual Ahmet was hoping for a long and successful relationship with them.

Ahmet co-founder and executive of Atlantic Records used his personal skills in negotiating the signing of The Rolling Stones to Atlantic when they were shopping for a record company to distribute their independent Rolling Stones Records label.

He personally “did the deal” with Mick Jagger, when other labels had actually offered the band more money.

This watch was later donated by Jagger to an auction run by LA radio station KMET-FM back in 1973 in a week long auction they ran to raise money for the victims of the Nicaraguan Earthquake.
Mick was of course married to Bianca at the time, and her having family there got Mick very involved in this worthy cause.

The Stones gave a benefit concert in LA and donated at the proceeds to help the victims.

Every so often we come across photographs that make us feel. You know what I’m talking about? Photographs that stop you in your track and make you say “Shit.” Photographs that transport you to another place, maybe even another time. Sometimes you can’t even define what you’re feeling, it just seems like a flux of emotions all at one time and one minute you’re here and the next you’re there, and maybe I’m getting a little too poetic with this but what I’m trying to say is that I want to introduce you to Columbus, Ohio native Anna Verlet. Her photographs made me feel this way.

Anna goes about her work with an admirable delicacy and there seems to be something so nostalgic and pure in the air of every shot. The photographs you’re about to see are all film which only serves to reemphasize my point that digital sucks out the beautiful mood that only analogue can provide. I hope you guys get as much out of this collection as I did.

A few weeks ago I was asked to make a trend forecast on sneakers at commercial fashion market. I had to put together basic styles and colors for next year for a brand that does not intend to be leader on the market rather serve the mass with trustable and fashionable shoes. So I sketched the basic shoe styles, the most interesting colors and decorations with understanding the needs of the target costumers. It was important to see that I needed to make a fashionable selection for costumers who are rather followers on the market than inventors. Therefore I’ve chosen colors and styles that have already been fashion buzz but not yet out of the trends. Things that fashion inventors are already wearing. The top five infos were:
