El Mercado de Colón invita a pasar una Navidad en familia

Un total de 28 actividades de carácter familiar conforman el programa navideño del Mercado de Colón de Valencia, que pretende llevar la ilusión a todos los niños a pesar del actual período de crisis. La visita de Papá Noel y los Reyes Magos, representaciones teatrales, talleres participativos y atracciones son algunas de las propuestas que integran la oferta, que este año se ha ampliado respecto a ediciones anteriores.

Así lo aseguró este lunes la concejala presidenta del Palau de la Música de Valencia, Mayrén Beneyto, quien presentó el programa de ocio para estas Navidades en un encuentro con los medios de comunicación. La edil subrayó que la intención de la iniciativa es conseguir reunir a toda la familia en unas fechas tan señaladas y brindar a los niños una serie de actividades que no supongan un gasto extra para sus padres. “Todos los niños tienen que disfrutar de la Navidad porque ellos no saben de crisis”, manifestó.

Para abrir boca, el próximo 10 de diciembre se iniciarán los tradicionales conciertos corales en los que se recreará el típico repertorio navideño. En estos recitales participarán las formaciones Scholapiarum Cantores, Coro Colegio Esclavas, Coral Sant Yago, Coral José Roca Antiguos Coralistas, Cor Veus Vedrunes, Coro Colegio Iale, Coral Universitaria, Coro Colegio Edelweis, Schola Cantorum, Cantoria Hipponensis, Orfeón Gregorio Gea, Colegio Dominicos y Coro Extra-di-varius.Las actividades dirigidas a los más pequeños ocuparán las jornadas centrales de las fiestas. Así, arrancarán el 23 de diciembre y consistirán, entre otras, en parques infantiles, talleres de manualidades, un stand con Papá Noel y su duende, espectáculos de animación participativa, funciones de marionetas, payasos y shows de magia.Además, en esta ocasión y como novedad, también habrá un espacio reservado para un público más juvenil, al que se atraerá con tributos a algunos de sus ídolos más populares, como Hannah Montana o High School Musical.

Ya en enero de 2010 continuará la programación especial que concluirá el día 4 con la esperada visita de Sus Majestades los Reyes Magos de Oriente.

Todo ello se desarrollará en las instalaciones del mercado, que han sido acondicionadas con motivos navideños. Un gran nacimiento, como el que se instalará en la Plaza del Ayuntamiento, la típica iluminación, y un árbol de Navidad de enormes dimensiones -decorado con las bolas que han pintado los chicos de cuatro centros ocupaciones de la ciudad- presidirán el recinto.

Mayrén Beneyto comentó que el Mercado de Colón adquiere una vida especial en Navidades y consideró que es un lugar ideal para pasar las fiestas en compañía de toda la familia. Por ello, confió en que las actividades consigan “el mismo éxito y buena acogida” que otros años.

El equipo uruguayo Nacional de Montevideo, el cuadro Ecuador 2 y Argentina 3, serán los rivales de Monarcas Morelia en el Grupo 6 de la Copa Libertadores 2010, luego del sorteo realizado en Asunción, Paraguay.

Article de Shulamit Aloni, que nous dédions à William Godnadel et Sammy Ghozlan, car c’est bien à eux que s’adresse l’ancienne ministre israélienne de l’Education, qui sait de quoi elle parle.

Peu soupçonnable de “gauchiseme”, Shulamit Aloni, qui a reçu le Prix Israel et le prix Emi Grunzweig des Droits de l’Home de l’Association pour les Droits Civils en Israël, fait de temps à autre un constat salutaire. Elle avait ainsi déclaré, à propos des crimes israéliens, : “Il n’y a pas besoin de fours crématoires et de chambres à gaz pour perpétrer un génocide”.

Aujourd’hui, elle répond à ceux qui s’offusquent de l’utilisation du mot “apartheid” dans un article publié par Counterpunch en anglais, et traduit par Carole SANDREL pour CAPJPO-EuroPalestine :

“Oui, il y a un Apartheid en Israël

L’autosatisfaction juive est tellement banale parmi nous que nous ne parvenons pas à voir ce qu’il y a juste sous notre nez. Il est tout simplement inconcevable que les victimes ultimes, les Juifs, puissent se livrer à de mauvaises actions. Pourtant, l’Etat d’Israël pratique son propre Apartheid, extrêmement violent, à l’égard de la population palestinienne.

L’attaque lancée par les institutions juives américaines contre l’ancien président Jimmy Carter résulte de ce qu’il ose dire cette vérité connue de tous : à travers son armée, le gouvernement d’Israël pratique une forme sauvage d’Apartheid dans les territoires qu’il occupe. Son armée a fait de chaque village et de chaque ville palestiniens un camp de détention emmuré, ou interdit. Tout cela est fait pour garder l’œil sur les mouvements de la population, et pour rendre sa vie difficile. Israël impose même un couvre-feu total toutes les fois que les colons, qui ont illégalement usurpé la terre des Palestiniens, célèbrent leurs fêtes ou paradent.

Pour peu que ce ne soit pas suffisant, les généraux qui commandent la région émettent fréquemment des ordres supplémentaires, règles, instructions et décrets (n’oublions pas : ce sont les seigneurs de la terre). Actuellement ils ont encore réquisitionné d’autres terres afin de construire des routes « pour Juifs seulement ». Routes merveilleuses, routes spacieuses, routes bien pavées, brillamment éclairées la nuit, tout cela sur une terre volée. Quant un palestinien conduit sur une telle route, son véhicule lui est confisqué et il est renvoyé sur son chemin à lui.

Un jour, j’ai été témoin d’une telle rencontre entre un conducteur et un soldat qui notait des renseignements avant de confisquer le véhicule et de renvoyer son possesseur sur son chemin. « Pourquoi ? » ai-je demandé au soldat. « C’est un ordre. Cette route n’est destinée qu’aux Juifs », a-t-il répondu. J’ai voulu savoir où était le panneau l’indiquant et informant d’autres conducteurs de ne pas l’utiliser. Sa réponse fut pour le moins étonnante : « C’est de sa responsabilité de le savoir, en outre, que voulez-vous que nous fassions, mettre un panneau ici et laisser un reporter ou un journaliste antisémite prendre une photo pour qu’il puisse montrer au monde entier que l’Apartheid existe ici ? ».

Evidemment il n’y a pas d’Apartheid ici. Et notre armée est « l’armée la plus morale du monde » comme nos commandants nous le disent. Il suffit de dire que chaque ville et chaque village sont transformés en centres de détention et que chaque entrée, chaque sortie ont été fermées, les coupant des voies à grande circulation. Au cas où il ne suffirait pas que les Palestiniens n’aient pas l’autorisation de circuler sur des routes « pour Juifs seulement », sur leur terre, le GOC (NdT : quartier général multi commandements) actuel a jugé nécessaire de cogner encore plus sur les natifs, et sur leur propre terre, avec un « plan ingénieux ».

Des militants humanitaires ne peuvent pas non plus assurer le transport des Palestiniens.

Le major Général Naveh, renommé pour son patriotisme exemplaire, a émis un nouvel ordre. Prenant effet le 19 janvier, il interdit de convoyer des Palestiniens sans permis. Cet ordre établit que les Israéliens n’ont pas le droit de transporter des Palestiniens dans des véhicules israéliens (enregistrés en Israël sans distinction de la plaque minéralogique qu’ils portent) à moins d’avoir reçu une permission explicite pour le faire. Ce permis concerne le conducteur comme le passager palestinien. Evidemment rien de tout cela ne s’applique à ceux dont le travail bénéficie aux colons. Eux et leurs employeurs recevront naturellement le permis requis pour pouvoir continuer à servir les seigneurs de la terre, les colons.

Est-ce que le président Carter, homme de paix, se trompait vraiment quand il concluait qu’Israël créait un Apartheid ? Exagérait-il ? Est-ce que les leaders de la communauté juive des Etats-Unis reconnaissent la Convention Internationale pour l’élimination de toutes les formes de Discrimination Raciale du 7 mars 1966, dont Israël est signataire ? Est-ce que les juifs des Etats-Unis qui ont lancé une bruyante et injurieuse campagne contre Carter, supposé avoir diffamé la nature d’Israël, sa nature démocratique et humaniste, ne connaîtraient pas la Convention Internationale pour la Suppression et les sanctions contre le Crime d’Apartheid du 30 novembre 1973 ? L’Apartheid y est défini comme un crime international, qui entre autres, inclut l’usage de différents outils légaux pour soumettre différents groupes raciaux, privant ainsi les gens de leurs droits humains. Est-ce que la liberté de circulation n’est pas l’un de ces droits ?

Dans le passé, les chefs de la communauté juive des Etats-Unis étaient très au fait du sens de ces conventions. Pour une mystérieuse raison, pourtant, ils sont convaincus qu’Israël a le droit d’y contrevenir. C’est parfait de tuer des civils, des femmes et des enfants, des personnes âgées, des parents avec leurs enfants, délibérément ou non sans en assumer la responsabilité. Il est permis de voler leurs terres aux gens, de détruire leurs moissons, et de les encager comme des animaux de zoo. Désormais, les volontaires des organisations humanitaires israéliennes et internationales ont l’interdiction d’assister une femme qui accouche en la transportant à l’hôpital. Les militants (de L’association israélienne des droits de l’Homme) Yesh Din ne peuvent pas emmener un palestinien qu’on a volé et battu au poste de police pour porter plainte. (Les postes de police sont situés au cœur des colonies). Qui peut croire que ce n’est pas l’Apartheid ?

Jimmy Carter n’a pas besoin de moi pour défendre sa réputation souillée par les responsables d’une communauté israélophile. Le problème c’est que leur amour d’Israël déforme leur jugement et les empêche de voir ce qu’il y a en face d’eux. Israël est une puissance occupante qui depuis 40 ans oppresse un peuple indigène, qui a le droit à une existence souveraine et indépendante tout en vivant en paix avec nous. Nous devrions nous rappeler que nous aussi avons utilisé le terrorisme contre une domination étrangère parce que nous voulions notre propre état. Et la liste des victimes de la terreur est longue et considérable.

Nous ne nous bornons pas à nier au peuple (palestinien) ses droits de l’homme. Nous ne faisons pas que leur voler leur liberté, leur terre et leur eau. Nous appliquons des punitions collectives à des millions de gens et même, dans une frénésie de vengeance, nous détruisons l’alimentation en électricité d’un million et demi de civils. Qu’ils « restent dans le noir » et « qu’ils crèvent de faim ».

Des employés ne peuvent recevoir leur salaire parce qu’Israël détient 500 millions de shekels appartenant aux Palestiniens. Et après tout ça nous restons « blancs comme neige ». Il n’y a pas de faute morale à nos actions. Il n’y a pas de séparation raciale. Il n’y a pas d’Apartheid. C’est une invention des ennemis d’Israël. Hourra pour nos frères et sœurs des Etats-Unis ! Votre dévotion est très appréciée. Vous nous avez vraiment lavés d’une vilaine tache. Maintenant nous pouvons continuer à nous sentir guillerets tandis que bardés de nos certitudes, nous opprimons le peuple palestinien, avec l’aide de « l’armée la plus morale du monde »

Leaky Gut Syndrome - An American Epidemic

The US is experiencing a serious epidemic of Leaky Gut Syndrome. The problem has reached this level because of all the processed foods that we eat. All of the years that we’ve been eating these types of foods have started to cause a series of problems. The sludge that is undigested in our gut has no enzymes to break them down in the digestive tract. If there are no enzymes then the buildup continues to occur in the alimentary canal.

Leaky Gut Syndrome refers to the last part of the digestive tract which is the colon. The primary function of the colon is to keep waste before it is eliminated and reabsorb water and electrolytes to keep the body hydrated and full of nutrients.

In order for a normal colon to work, it has many tiny holes which allow water and minerals to be rep-absorbed into the blood system. This helps prevent loss of electrolytes and dehydration.

When your colon is not working properly, the sludge will cause problems in the openings in the wall of the colon. It’s amazing how many adult Americans have this problem. In an improperly functioning colon, some holes get stuck in an open position; others get stuck in a closed position. The ones that are stuck open allow the undigested food to get into the bloodstream. If they get into the bloodstream as undigested food, it becomes difficult to process and eliminate. They then get into the organs and tissues, causing inflammation and filtration problems. Eventually the organs and tissues will fail. This creates what is called Leaky Gut Syndrome. Formally, doctors call this hyper permeability syndrome.

The colon can’t help but allow the contents of one’s gut into the blood. The content was really just waste which should have been eliminated. Again, this happens because the pores in the colon wall got stuck open. This also means that water and electrolytes are lost … causing the gut to be “leaky.”

Piden la declaración de desastre para zonas inundadas

El Bloque Peronismo Federal conformado por los entrerrianos Cremer de Busti, Petit y Zavallo presentó hoy en el Congreso de la Nación un proyecto de ley para declarar zona de desastre por inundaciones por el plazo de 180 días, prorrogables por igual término por el Poder Ejecutivo Nacional las localidades ribereñas al Río Uruguay ubicadas en los departamentos de Federación, Concordia, Colón, Concepción del Uruguay, Gualeguaychú e Islas de la Provincia de Entre Ríos.

El proyecto también declara zona de desastre agropecuario por inundaciones por el plazo de 180 días prorrogables por igual término por el Poder Ejecutivo Nacional a los campos ubicados en los departamentos determinados en el artículo 1º en los términos de la ley 22.913 y solicita al Poder Ejecutivo Nacional que destine una partida especial para afrontar la emergencia hídrica en estos lugares, autorizando la adquisición de bienes, prestación de servicios y ejecución de obras urgentes e inmediatas de carácter hídricas, viales, edilicias, de comunicaciones, servicios públicos en general, y todas otras que resulten necesarias para afrontar la grave situación que viven los ciudadanos entrerrianos de esas localidades.

Asimismo encomienda al Poder Ejecutivo Nacional a implementar regímenes especiales de pago por parte de la Administración Federal de Ingresos Públicos (AFIP) y la Administración Nacional de Seguridad Social (ANSES) que contemple expresamente a los contribuyentes afectados. (RecintoNet)

For all my American viewers, today is the day to be thankful for all that we have. I know many of your are going through intense physical struggles. I still have my bad days and bad nights as well. But there is still much to be thankful for in the midst of pain.

Two years ago I spent Thanksgiving in the hospital on bowel rest, eating nothing but TPN through a PICC line. But even in that situation there was still much to be thankful for.

So spend some time with your family and friends today. Don’t watch any videos.

Santiago Silva, el máximo artillero de Banfield y el campeonato, le dio un nuevo triunfo frente a Independiente

Con el cierre de la decimoquinta fecha del Torneo Apertura 2009, se develó para que van a estar algunos equipos de cara a las últimas cuatro jornadas. Lo más relevante que dejó la última fecha disputada del fútbol local es la confirmación de Banfield como el equipo más sólido del certamen. El conjunto de Julio César Falcioni remontó frente a Independiente el pasado sábado un partido que parecía complicado y sacó chapa de candidato en la recta final del torneo.

Sebastián Méndez, uno de los pilares de la defensa menos vencida del Apertura

Sobre la base del equipo que jugó en el Clausura 2009, el actual entrenador del taladro armó un equipo que se destaca por ser el que tiene la valla menos vencida (siete goles en contra) y contar que el máximo anotador de la competición, el delantero uruguayo Santiago Silva, quien suma doce goles en lo que va del certamen. Con pocas incorporaciones -llegaron el defensor Sebastián Méndez y el volante Roberto Battion-, Falcioni supo arreglárselas y conformar un equipo con un alto grado de efectividad a la hora de pisar el área rival y con una sólida defensa, atributos estos que le permiten estar en la cima del certamen.

Por su parte, Newell´s Old Boys de Rosario dejó en soledad en la punta del campeonato al equipo de sur, como consecuencia del empate que cosechó en una nueva edición del clásico con Central. En un partido que comenzó de mayor a menor, el equipo de Roberto Sensini supo remontar una desventaja de dos tantos en el primer tiempo, pero no pudo aprovechar las oportunidades que tuvo en el complemento y dejo escapar la posibilidad de igualar la línea de Banfield.

Con la derrota frente a Lanús, Colón de Santa Fe quedó a siete puntos de Banfield y parece haberse despedido de sus aspiraciones de campeonato. Esto no desacredita la campaña del equipo de Antonio Mohamed, el cual está prácticamente clasificado a la Copa Libertadores 2010.

A pesar de su victoria, Estudiantes de La Plata parece haberse bajado de la lucha por el torneo local. Su inminente viaje a Abu Dhabi para disputar la Copa Mundial de Clubes es la prioridad para el equipo de Alejandro Sabella. Con la inesperada decisión del delantero de 39 años José Luis Calderón de dejar la actividad profesional, el pincha deberá superar esta baja y afrontar este compromiso internacional de la mejor manera.

Independiente, otro que tenía aspiraciones de pelear hasta el final, dejó pasar una excelente oportunidad en su choque directo con Banfield y quedó a nueve unidades, matemáticamente con chances, pero su suerte dependerá de otros resultados además de los propios.

De cara a las últimas cuatro jornadas del Apertura, todo parece indicar que la definición será entre Banfield y Newell´s.

Getting Ready for the Journey!

I popped in my Spanish CD, boy to I need it! I comprehend and speak basic French, unfortunately Spanish is not a language that I paid much attention to. I feel like I need to take a self-defense course. I don’t think I’ll have time before I leave on Dec 14th. I’ll add that to my New Year’s list of things I want to accomplish. I have a lot to do in the next few weeks to prepare for the journey. I going to keep it a simple and well planned out as possible. One thing I am trying to figure out is the weather change from San Francisco to Panama to Toronto. My sister will be in Toronto on Dec 5th-maybe I can send her a suitcase of clothes for Toronto-that way I won’t have to deal with carrying excess and unnecessary baggage. My flight leaves at midnight so I am hoping that L can take me to the airport. I’ll have to make the request. I also have to get back in touch with my neighbor/hairdresser and ask if she can house sit for me.

I’ve checked the weather and the dry season begins mid-December. The temperature will range from 75-90 degree. I took a look at the Airport website and found out that it is a 20 mile ride from the airport to Panama City. It will cost about $30 and it is really important to negotiate the fare before the trip starts. They have this cool train trip from Panama City to Colon for $35 return. Train leaves at 7:15 am and returns at 5:15pm. Only thing is Colon could be unsafe with lots of poverty and crime and drugs. I am going to caution on the safe side and get a personal guide for my day trip to Colon. The areas outside Colon, beaches, historic sites, churches are desirable destinations. There is a big park 20 min from Panama City that has lots to do including an Ariel tram, hot springs, bird watching, kayaking, hiking etc. I have my canal trip booked for Sat Dec 19 and that starts early 6:00 and goes through the canal. I guess that the biggest thing I will need for this trip is to get connected to the right people. Good people that can show me around. My research for tomorrow will be more on the Afro Antillean Museum and getting connected with people. I am going to call the two men that work at Inter-Continental Hotel tomorrow that I found on a Bajan’s couples blog. Hopefully they’ll be helpful.

Great Comebacks is an awards program recognizing inspiring individuals who have made a difference in the inflammatory bowel disease community. You may remember our friend Nadia won an award earlier this year.

The Comeback Kids program recently announced the 2009 winners, and the winner of the central region was Laurel Schwartz, a camper who I met personally at Camp Oasis this summer. She’s been through a lot with her Crohn’s disease but has really made it her mission to raise money and awareness to fight this disease. Read her story to see how even young people can make a difference if they keep fighting.

Cristóbal Colón fue un espía del rey de Portugal, según historiador portugués

Cristóbal Colón fue en realidad un “agente secreto” del rey Juan II de Portugal que engañó a los Reyes Católicos “con la promesa de una ruta a la India por Occidente”, según la tesis del historiador y escritor portugués Manuel Rosa.

En el libro “Colón. La historia nunca contada”, Manuel Rosa sostiene que el almirante encandiló a Fernando de Aragón e Isabel de Castilla con la idea de abrir una nueva ruta hacia la “falsa India” para dejar vía libre a los portugueses en la India verdadera y en África.

En una entrevista telefónica desde Durham (Carolina del Norte) donde vive y trabaja, Rosa, que presenta su obra el próximo 24 de noviembre en la Escuela de Estudios Hispano-Americanos (CSIC) de Sevilla (España), explicó que Portugal quería explotar yacimientos de oro en Ghana (África) y comerciar con la India sin la intromisión de España.

De hecho, precisó, “los portugueses no enviaron ningún navío a la India hasta que Colón” no descubrió el Nuevo Mundo y Castilla se avino a firmar en 1494 el Tratado de Tordesillas con el rey Juan II de Portugal, un pacto que estableció las rutas de expansión de ambas potencias al este y al oeste.

Manuel Rosa abundó en las rivalidades que existían entonces entre Castilla y Portugal por lograr la hegemonía sobre la ruta comercial por el Atlántico.

En ese contexto, respaldó la teoría de que en 1483 Isabel de Castilla tramó el asesinato de Don Juan II (1481-1495) por medio de dos sobrinos de Colón, lo que impulsó al rey portugués a fraguar un plan conspirador con la ayuda del almirante, muy allegado a la Corona lusitana.

Para este licenciado en Ciencias Humanas que reside en Estados Unidos, no cabe la menor duda de que Colón estaba al tanto de que el Caribe era conocido y siguió en su viaje de 33 días hacia el Nuevo Mundo una ruta ya trazada.

Colón, antes, en 1477, “había navegado hasta Canadá en una misión secreta” urdida por de los reyes de Portugal y Dinamarca, aseguró.

“Todo lo que yo presento está respaldado con documentación histórica”, afirmó Rosa, que lleva 18 años tratando de resolver los misterios y enigmas que esconden la figura de Colón.

A su juicio, el plan pergeñado por Colón fue una artimaña tan bien tramada que “no sólo convenció y engañó a los Reyes Católicos, sino al mundo entero durante quinientos años”.

Otra de las tesis más sorprendentes de este ensayo es la relativa al origen del almirante.

Mientras que la mayoría de historiadores coinciden en que Colón fue “un plebeyo genovés”, un “tejedor de lana” que ascendió a capitán, Rosa cree que era un noble portugués, hijo del rey de Polonia y Hungría Ladislao III, que nació en la isla portuguesa de Madeira.

Rosa mantiene la teoría de que Ladislao III, quien desapareció tras librar una batalla contra los turcos, buscó anonimato y refugio en Portugal y recibió de la Corona portuguesa tierras en la isla de Madeira, donde nació Colón.

Sobre la teoría del origen plebeyo del descubridor, sostiene que resulta poco creíble que un hombre de origen humilde, como era supuestamente Colón, hubiese podido casarse con Filipa Moniz, una noble portuguesa que residía en un monasterio y era comendadora de la orden de Santiago de la Espada en ese país.

Manuel Rosa también procede a desmontar las tesis de que Colón era judío o judío converso y lo ocultó a propósito. “No era judío. Según los análisis de ADN era un europeo blanco caucasiano”, aseveró.

Además, y lo que es más importante, prosiguió, se han analizado muestras de “477 Colombos de Italia, Francia y España” y practicado una comparación “con el ADN de los huesos desenterrados en la catedral de Sevilla”, pertenecientes al hijo de Colón, Fernando, y a su hermano pequeño, Don Diego Colón, que murió en 1515.

La identificación genética de los restos óseos arroja que “ninguno de estos Colombos mostraba un ADN compatible con los huesos de Colón”, por lo que “es imposible que el almirante fuese el italiano Cristoforo Colombo, genovés de sangre”, sentenció.

Defiende también que la llamada pérdida de la nao Santa María, la más grande que usó Cristóbal Colón en su primer viaje a América, nunca se trató de un naufragio.

“La Santa María nunca naufragó, sino que fue varada a propósito en tierra (en las playas de Haití) para servir de fortaleza a los hombres de la corte de Castilla”, dejados allí por Colón “para que no contradijesen la versión” que presentó ante los Reyes Católicos a su regreso.

Con gran astucia, explicó el historiador, Colón perforó la nave de costado a costado con un cañonazo de lombarda y se trajo consigo en la carabela La Niña a los cuatro pilotos que navegaban en esa primera expedición.

A su regreso a la corte de Castilla, “anuncia que viene de la India y que ha dejado allí una ciudad conquistada”, un extremo que nadie pudo rebatir. La realidad es, destacó, que Colón no encontró canela y oro como trató de hacer creer en la corte castellana, sino “personas desnudas sin armas, cabañas de paja, canoas hechas de corteza de árboles”, y poco más.

Además, agregó, la India ya era bien conocida y famosa entonces por sus diamantes y rubíes y el comercio de especias controlado por los musulmanes, por lo que aquella tierra no podía corresponder con la India.

Esto lo sabía con certeza Colón, por eso llamó a esas tierras “Las Indias” y “dio medidas engañosas sobre el Nuevo Mundo para confundir y engañar, no por ignorancia”, puso de relieve. EFE

La expresión Descubrimiento de América se usa habitualmente para referirse a la llegada a América de un grupo expedicionario español que, representando a los Reyes Católicos de Castilla y Aragón, partieron desde el Puerto de Palos de la Frontera, comandados por Cristóbal Colón, y llegaron el viernes 12 de octubre de 1492 a una isla llamada Guanahani en lo que hoy es San Salvador (Bahamas). Los viajes de los portugueses a India siguiendo la costa Africana significaron un estímulo para otros navegantes europeos que creían que era posible llegar a las regiones del Asia oriental navegando hacia el oeste. Cristóbal Colón fue partidario de esta hipótesis. Apoyado por la monarquía española, organizó un viaje de exploración que lo condujo a la costa americana en 1492. Cristóbal Colón creía que había llegado al continente asiático, denominado por los europeos Indias y murió sin saber que había llegado a un continente desconocido por los europeos.

La expresión “descubrimiento de América” para referirse a la llegada de Colón al continente americano ha sido criticada por diversos sectores, culturas y estudiosos, dando lugar a un amplio y apasionado debate. En este artículo se adopta como significado del término, todos los viajes realizados por Colón a América, el encuentro de los españoles con las distintas culturas americanas que habitaban esas tierras, así como las relaciones y conflictos inmediatos entre indígenas y españoles que ese encuentro produjo.

Se trata de uno de los momentos cumbres de la historia universal porque significó el encuentro de dos mundos humanos que se habían desarrollado independientemente, sin que ninguno conociera la existencia del otro.^[1]

Your colon transient time is the time it takes the food you eat to travel from your mouth through your rectum. A healthy time is 18 to 25 hours. This time relates to how long the food you eat stays in your intestinal tract and colon. Food, fecal matter or chyme in your colon should not stay longer than 12 hours otherwise you have constipation. The other 12 hours, your food is in your stomach and small intestine.

Many doctors and others in the health field may tell you that it is ok not to have a bowel movement everyday. This really goes against common sense. If you eat every day, you should have a bowel movement everyday or 18 to 25 hours after you eat.

Long-term constipation is responsible for the start of practically all body illnesses and diseases. For this reason keeping regular is critical for your health. Constipation leads to auto-toxicity or self-poisoning of your body. When toxins move into your blood stream instead of out of your body with the fecal matter, the liver and other body organs become overwhelmed and become sluggish. With a toxic colon, you will have a hard time keeping free of disease and you will find it very difficult to lose weight.

Slow moving fecal matter in the colon causes re-absorption of fats and cholesterol back into your blood stream and liver instead of out of the body. This can lead to a “fatty liver”, which cannot digest fats properly and has to store them in its own cells, other organs, and body cells as pure fat.

Determining Your Transient Time

Here’s how to determine your transient time. First thing in the morning, drink one of the following drinks.

ท one ounce of liquid chlorophyll, the juice of one lemon and 8 oz. of distilled water.
ท or if you like beet juice, use 6-8 oz. of beet juice. You can buy the juice or make your own if you have a juicer.

Buy a small bottle of liquid chlorophyll that does not have peppermint added. The peppermint added has to strong of a taste for me. The cost is around $8.00

Check to see how long it takes to see green or red in your stools. This is your transient time. Average transient time is around 21 hours.

If your transient time exceeds 26 to 30 hours, then you have a mild case of constipation. If your transient time 31 to 36 you are constipated. If your transient time is 37 to 48 hour you have chronic constipation.

Check your transient time now. Go get a bottle of chlorophyll and do the transient time test, then use the chlorophyll for a morning green drink that I describe in another article.
