Talk about Polychromatic, if you want your iPod (classic and touch), iPhone, MacBook, cellphone, PS3, PS3 Slim, Xbox, Wii, controllers or several other things custom colored, check out ColorWare. What’s great about this website is that, for most things, you not only have the option of either buying a new one, or sending yours in, but you can see how it will look before you buy it. And the number of parts you can customize is impressive. Example: for the PS3 Slim, you can choose different colors for the top, bottom, logo and up to four controllers (the three extra controllers cost extra.)

The prices for the new products are a little on the high side, probably because they actually have to buy the product themselves, but if your sending in your own, the cost would appear to simply cover shipping. The Macs are still a little high to send in, but they are $1500 computers.

That said, for $150, you can send in your PS3 with a single controller to get a one of a kind system. or for $125 you can send in your iPod Touch.

What’s great about this website, is that is fun to simply play around with the different colors, even if you aren’t looking to buy. Giving a good value and good entertainment at the same time is rare for websites.

I give ColorWare 4 out of 5 rating for now. Once I get a PS3 and the money, I actually do plan on getting it colored by ColorWare, and I will update my review then.

so i saw that you can color any device you have via a company called colorware. My g1 is in pretty good condition but its still not as sleek as i think it could be. Hmm should i send in my g1 and get it colored purple black and white? *thinks*… maybe… its fucking expensive though its like 100-200 bucks depending on what you get. I probably wont get it colored but itd be nice if i could…

Tomorrow is the opening of Tokyo Game Show 2009 to the general public.
I’m sure by the time this is posted, we will already be on the show floor getting ready for your arrival. Make sure to come visit us! We’ve even got a little souvenir to give to everyone who tries out the game.

I also have a couple of announcements to make.

We’ve decided to celebrate TGS the same way we celebrated San Diego Comic Con – by making one-of-a-kind Bayonetta game consoles! This time, we’ve made both an Xbox 360 and a PS3.

But right after we ordered the hardware, the PS3 Slim was announced… （@o@）!?
So unfortunately, it is the previous model of the PS3, but this is what it looks like!

First up is the 360.

And here is the PS3.

For the Comic Con version, we used a sort of subtle Red/Black background, but for this series, we are taking a book out of the Japanese box art and using a moon background!
This one’s really cool too!

We are also going to be giving these consoles away at a PlatinumGames user event we have planned for the future. We will get them into a gamers’ hands somehow, but for now, the staff at PlatinumGames are just enjoying gawking over the machines. (OK… I’m the only one doing the gawking.)

There is one more announcement that I have to mention, and you may have already caught glimpse of this before, but we are releasing a Bayonetta Photo Collection in Japan!

This book will be release a week before the Japanese release of Bayonetta.

The cover is a brand new render made especially for the book.

On the inside, you have a real photo collection. Beyond various new renders of Bayonetta, there is also an exclusive interview with the witch herself, making it a volumious collection of content the likes of which you rarely see before a game’s release!

Kamiya-san and the staff really enjoyed thinking up ideas for this project, like hoping we could included a centerfold or a pin-up…

At the very least it should give all of you some late night reading while you wait up anxiously anticipating the release of the game! Be sure to pick it up!

In case you were not aware there is a site on the Internet http://www.colorwarepc.com which deals in custom painting of mobile phones and other electronics and I must say their work looks amazing. I went on their site and kicked up my own personalized design for my Jakberry (Blackberry Curve 8900).

Te gustaría poder diferenciar tu iPhone del resto? Pues nada más sencillo que pasarte por la página de ColorWare donde es posible elegir el color, no sólo de la base, sino también del contorno, el botón, la tapa de la tarjeta sim y hasta los auriculares.

El acabado es espectacular, aunque el precio es un pelín elevado, 215€ por un tuneado completo.

Una buena opción si es que ninguna funda te convence, también es posible tunear tu Mac, pero de eso hablaré más adelante.

Beats, a series of headphones and earbuds, created by Dr.Dre in collaboration with Monster, gets the colorware treatment! 

Customers get to pick between 15 solid colors, and 20 metallic colors. Separate parts of the headphones can be painted differently, allowing one to completely customize their headphones, making it truly one of a kind. Metallic colors have small reflective flakes mixed throughout the paint, giving the paint a unique effect. Solid colors are, as their name implies, simple, solid colors. 

I, myself, have tried out these headphones. Take in mind, though, that I am a sensitive listener, and I prefer not to bump the volume up too high. Unlike some Skullcandy headphones, these headphones do not have a bass control. For long-term listening… these headphones might induce a slight headache. From a purely audiophile standpoint, though, these headphones provide ample quality for their price. Although sending these in to Colorware might seem a bit costly at $199 for a send-in paintjob, and $499 to buy a pair directly from colorware, some are willing to pay the price for individuality. For now, I’d prefer to stick to my Grado SR325i headphones. They look good STOCK, with gold cans, and are suited to the picky listener. Long-term comfort poses a problem, though.
