De seguro ya conocen esta cancion, ya que es muy famosa, y muy buena por cierto. Esta cancion se llama vive la vida de coldplay.

Pero han escuchado esta cancion pero tocada por mariachis??????????????????????NO?????????????????’ CREEN QUE NO EXISTE.

Pues si existe.

ESte mariachi es llamado MARIACHI ROCK-O, y tocan de todo tipo de canciones como la de la vive la vida de colplay, u hotel california, entre muchos otros.

Este no es un mariachi comun y corriente. Este mariachi proviene de la union de varios de los mejores mariachis de Guadalajara. Su motivo principal, es la de hacerle publicidad a Guadalajara.

Sin embargo su fama a crecido mucho, ya que es inusual encontrar un mariachi que no solo toque el mariachi loco, caminos de michoacan, etc.. (las canciones tipicas de un mariachi). Ademas que las interpretaciones de este mariachi son muy buenas e incluso suena casi igual que las originales.

Coldplay live yesterday at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View was Epic. I’ve been busy as hell working a full time 7am-6pm job and working on my startup JobShoots after work and things have started to get completely overwhelming. When I start missing meetings and forgetting to write my meetings with my CEO in my Calender is when I know I need a break..

coldplay;; A Rush Of Blood To The Head

I think everyone knows the band coldplay for its very popular song “Viva la Vida”. Though, I love that song, I have to say that it isn’t near my favorite song of this band. Nope. Honestly, my favorite song has to be “politik”, I’m not sure that it’s very popular, but you should check it out; Chris Martin sings beautifully in it. <33

Alright, so my dad was saying how Chris Martin (lead singer) doesn’t have a distinctive voice, but I have to disagree. He has an amazing voice!! His voice is especially beautiful in songs like “politik”, and “the scientist”, as well as  ”a whisper” and “warning sign”. The lyrics to all of the Coldplay songs are beautiful too, and the guitar riffs are pretty nice too. C: Anyway, I believe in all honesty that this is one of, or their BEST albums ever. <3

For some background info:

Coldplay, a British rock//alternative band, has been around since… 1996, I think. Chris Martin does the vocals and piano, while the drummer is Will Champion, the guitarist is Johnny Buckland, the bass player is Guy Beryman, and the band is managed by Phil Harvey. [:  Apparently, the band started out between Chris Martin and Johnny Buckland. According to my not-so-extensive-research, the two decided to name themselves "Pectoralz" at first0, but later on, when Berryman joined the group, they changed the name again to Starfish. Finally, when they gained their manager, and drummer, Will Champion, they changed their name to Coldplay, which has been kept to this day (obviously).

Hace unos días se anunció que Coldplay como un regalo a sus fans, pondrían a disposición de todos un álbum en vivo con descarga gratis desde su sitio web. Me he dado a la tarea de descargar esta álbum y escucharlo en su integridad.

Este disco no contiene ninguna sorpresa para las personas que tienen su álbum pasado “Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends” con una tira de temas como “Viva la Vida” o “42” ya escuchadas y amadas por el publico y otras de su menos conocido EP “Prospekt’s March” como “Glass of Water” que nos remonta a los primeros años de la banda con una guitarra y coros mas rápidos y la fusión de “The Hardest Part” con “Postcards from Far Away” que es sublime. En general la grabación es agradable a los oídos y aunque sin sorpresas es un buena compilación de temas ya conocidos. Tal vez lo mas apreciable del álbum es su distribución: gratis. Al ir a uno de sus conciertos se les entrega a los fans la recopilación en un CD da audio y para los fans que no pueden ir es descargable desde su pagina principal. Es algo notable que cada vez mas artistas están dándose cuenta de que la libre distribución de su música no afecta sus ganancias al contrario les ennoblece y acerca a sus seguidores. Algo parecido había pasado ya con el álbum “In Rainbows” de Radiohead es el cual los fan podían descargarlo y escoger cuanto querían pagar por el álbum completo, escogiendo algunos no pagar nada. Aun así el experimento se consideró un éxito ya que al lanzarse el álbum en forma física se colocó en el primer puesto de UK Album Chart de Reino unido y el Billboard200 de los Estados Unidos.

Todo esto nos lleva a la conclusión de que a los usuarios se les debería dar la opción de escoger que hacen con su música en internet, mientras no involucre el comercio ni el lucro solo el uso personal. Y aunque este modelo este lejos de ser la norma bandas como Coldplay ya están dando los primeros pasos a esta forma de distribución mas amigable y rápida para el usuario, por lo cual yo les estoy infinitamente agradecido. Como dirían los niños de South Park “Viva la Resistance”.

A comienzos de este mes, el grupo de pop británico Coldplay prometió regalar un disco con nueve canciones en directo a todos los seguidores que acudiesen a su concierto y colgar ese mismo trabajo en su web para que pudiera ser descargado de forma gratuita por todo aquel que lo deseara. Tal y como habían anunciado, hoy, 15 de mayo, han cumplido su promesa.

Según los miembros del grupo, esta iniciativa quiere premiar la fidelidad con la que sus seguidores acuden a sus conciertos, ya que el directo es lo que verdaderamente les motiva. No en vano, en la propia página de descarga puede leerse: “This is a thank you to our fans (Esto es un gracias a nuestros seguidores)”.

El procedimiento para hacerse con las nueve canciones grabadas durante el Viva la vida Tour que componen este particular regalo es muy sencillo. Basta con pinchar  e indicar el correo electrónico del usuario y el país de residencia. Inmediatamente se abrirá la descarga y, en mi caso, a una velocidad más que aceptable.

Si les gusta la buena música y quieren aprovechar el regalo tienen que darse prisa, porque, eso sí, la oferta es por un tiempo limitado.

Todo un bofetón sin manos para quienes se empeñan en criminalizar a quienes comparten cultura y pretenden hacer una red a su medida. Por ello, no es de extrañar el poco eco que ha obtenido esta iniciativa en algunos grandes medios españoles.

British rockers COLDPLAY joined a large line up of Australian and International acts to raise money for the victims of the bush fires in Victoria, a short set that originally was ment to be acoustic turned into full electric mode at the last minute and the band delivered a performace worth their reputation and one that got even bigger when they were joined on stage by non other than the great JOHN FARNHAM to sing his anthemic classic “you are the voice” the crowd exploded into full singing mode to every word of the song!!!

Charismatic frontman CHRIS MARTIN couldn’t contain his enthusiasm and rushed off the stage and sprinted across the field into the crowd all the way to the middle barrier where he was franticlly hughed by the ecstatic fans who could’t believe their luck at having the rockstar so up close!! after freeing himself with a little hand from the local security, martin rushed back to the stage only to be beaten by another barrier which he was not able to jump over and in the failed attempt he was surrounded by a wave of adoring fans once again, finally security managed to get him over the barrier and he rejoined his fellow bandmates on stage again!

Their set included all their well known hits with the song “YELLOW” leading the way accompanied by several giant yellow baloons floating all over the crowd…

In one word….FANTASTIC!! Coldplay opened the festivities in style!

Two top-eleven college basketball teams came to town today. And the NBA-elite San Antonio Spurs, too.

Not too many people thought that the Hoyas would beat Marquette. (And they didn’t, in fact, beat Marquette.)

But even fewer people thought that the Terps would beat #3 UNC, and they did!

And nobody thought the Wizards could get three wins in a row, which they have yet to do this season.

The most cheerful basketball news of the day for me was this:

At Verizon Center this evening, they interviewed Mason’s mom. She is also a native Washingtonian. She refused to say that she was rooting for the Spurs. Her son may not be on the Wizards anymore, but she roots for Washington’s team anyway.

Now that is hometown loyalty.

I am a member of a little group of local priests who get together once a month and read a Sermon of St. John Vianney out loud to each other.

St. John Vianney, also known as the Curé of Ars, is the patron saint of parish priests. His sermons will put the fear of God into anybody. Excerpts of the sermons are available on-line.

Nine years ago today, I was in St. Peter’s Square when Pope John Paul II created Theodore McCarrick a Cardinal. Cardinal McCarrick kindly took all the seminarians along with him on the plane.

A year ago today, I was at Ceasarea-Philippi, where St. Peter declared, “You are the Christ.” The Lord replied: “You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church.” (See Matthew 16)

February 22 is the Feast of the Chair of St. Peter. It is the day to give thanks to God for the office He established, the office of Supreme Shepherd of the Church on earth.

We do not keep the feast at Mass this year, since the day falls on a Sunday. But let’s give thanks to God for the Papacy anyway.

Last night (Sunday, February 8 2009) the 51st Grammy Awards were held. Some important wins were:

Song of the Year: Viva la Vida Coldplay

Album of the Year: Raising Sand Robert Plant & Alison Krauss

These were some of the awards I found particularly important. I was really expecting Coldplay to get album of the year, but I guess we all get surprised sometimes, right?

Leo que estaba todo planeado con premeditación, que hace dos años que crearon un blog para vertir opiniones republicanas. Un blog llevado, supuestamente, por un tal Martin Eisenstadt (nombre cristiano y apellido judío, como muchos miembros del Partido Republicano, un nombre ficticio muy estudiado). El bloguero trabajada para otro no menos ficticio think tank conservador: The Harding Institute. Finalmente, los medios picaron y sin comprobar la veracidad de este supuesto asesor de McCain empezaron a publicar las filtraciones falsas de Eisenstadt sobre Sarah Palin. Que si no sabía qué países formaban parte de América del Norte, que si creía que África era un país y no un continente… todo mentira. Todo un montaje para descubrir lo fácil que es generar bulos en la red y la poca profesionalidad de los medios (entre ellos la CNN, MSNBC o Fox News, ahora con la cara colorada) que dieron por bueno un rumor sin comprobar su veraridad o la de sus fuentes.

Las mentes maestras tras la jugada son dos cineastas amateurs, Eitan Gorlin y Dan Mirvish. Ambos han entretejido una historia fabulosa y ya tienen de sobra argumentos para un documental de éxito: cómo se filtran las mentiras.

First and foremost thank you to those of you who were brave enough to comment on my last blog. (And those of you who will in the future.) That’s some serious stuff, and commenting only puts you out there for judgment. This next blog is for the musically inept. Not politics. I’m speaking to the sheltered people of the music realm. I made a list of ten amazing songs you won’t hear on the radio. But when I say amazing! I don’t mean blow your face off rock ballads, or easy listening. When a musician makes an album they are forced to pull away from the mainstream and, in my opinion, make true music. Mainstream music can get boring, so I’m here to help. Download/buy these songs, I personally guarantee that all are family friendly and you will love five of them. This will stretch your music tolerance. If you frequent my blog you will find your name next to the song I think you’ll like the most. Enjoy.

Ten Songs You Won’t Hear on the Radio:
1. Vultures- John Mayer He’s a jerk, but dang it he can play guitar. Said to be the next King of Blues, John Mayer shreds in this funk flavored song allegedly aimed at record companies. A good listen and possibly my favorite next to Gravity on his latest in studio album Continuum.

2. Spoon- Dave Mathews Band Most likely the best jam band of all time, DMB with co-writer Alanis Morissette proved that teaming up two different genre’s always spells success. One of the first to do so and not get recognized, the two put together an amazing piece. Before These Crowded Streets would most likely go on the “If I were stranded on a deserted island” list. Carter Beauford their drummer is the most under rated drummer of all time.

3. Viva la Vida- Coldplay They’ve come a long way from their first music video hit Yellow in 2000. (Wow, was I in junior high?) Part of the New Age British Invasion, Coldplay kept it basic in their most recent tune. I think it’s too new to be popular on the radio, or too good. It’s compilation of synth, percussion, and ambiance is one of musical brilliance. They are certainly revolutionists in music, but way too weird for my taste. Plus Rolling Stone labeled lead singer Chris Martin the “Uncool Jesus” which made me super uncomfortable. What does that even mean? A good listen for fans of the synth strings.

4. Jenny Was A Friend of Mine- The Killers The Killers are truly their own breed. If you’re into synthesized music you need to get into the Killers. They sound like no one and no one sounds like them. I can only categorized them as synthetic funk. Another good song by these purveyors of fat beats would be All These Things That I’ve Done. It contains one of the best musical bridges wrapped in the best lyrical conundrum I’ve ever heard. Unfortunately (All These Things That I’ve Done) didn’t make the list because of its popularity on the radio.

5. Come All You Weary- Thrice Thrice is still new to me, but their last two albums (containing four cd’s in all) has blown me away. Their prowess in breaking the walls of genre is astounding. Come All You Weary is featured on Earth, the fourth of all four elements covered in their latest compilation. (All four being Fire, Water, Air, Earth) They have so many Christian undertones I’m not sure why they won’t come out and say it. This song, derived from Mathew 11, has breathtaking harmonies but rocks your face off with a 6/8 swinging time signature. (Also see Child of Dust, aka the Prodigal Son)

6. Amie- Damien Rice Mr. Rice is a man among boys in the music world. He refuses to use digital perfection for his voice. Although losing perfect tone and pitch, I believe he gains a realistic feel to the majority of his music. You have to be careful with him though, some songs of his are off color, ask before finding more songs and I can help you avoid this. Are you a sucker for the strings? You’ll like Damien.

7. A Song for You- Ryan Adams Getting back to my southern roots Ryan Adams fills every need of the south with only the absence of gravy on my mashed potatoes and corn bread. If you want a contemporary southern singer who hasn’t fell into the mainstream of what country music is today, you need Ryan Adams. This is what country started out sounding like, and how it should sound. Suckers for harmony must download this song.

8. Broken- Secondhand Serenade (Paige) Come all ye young teen angst lovers. This solo project of John Vesely’s has teenagers all over the nation crying into their pillows with songs of lost love and vulnerable states of the heart. His voice is that of a small girl, but boy! he can sing. His inner studio workings are jam packed with layered harmonies that will blow your mind. Cry your heart out teens.

9. Let That Be Enough- Switchfoot Teamed with Jars of Clay, Switchfoot wrote this song in 2000. Another Junior High favorite apparently. I found this song about two years ago and haven’t turned back. The song elaborates on feelings had by most Christians; it’s a prayer to God to let love be enough to make us know that He’s there. A good listen if you ask me.

10. Forever- Ben Harper (Laurie) if you like Jack Johnson, Ben Harper will be a very very close second. They’re two beach bums who play beach bum music. Just a bongo and a guitar are all Ben needs to tell his significant other what “forever” means to him and other people. His interpretation is inspiring, and enough for me to include it on this list.

Honorable Mention
1. Indiana- Jon McLaughlin Collectively, if you’re from Indiana you’ve already come to grips with what is all around you, maybe even cursed it a time or two. Here, the Anderson University grad makes what seems frustrating at times, a message of uniqueness and love for his home Hoosier state. This song will make you proud to be a kid of the corn.

2. Famous Last Words- My Chemical Romance What I believe to be Queens remake, this band’s hard rock song falls among the harder for my list. MCR and their vocal capability plus their produced layers of awesome instrumentals make them an awesome awesome studio band. However live performances might taint this preconceived notion of awesomeness. Additionally this song by them is an awesome composition. No matter how you slice it this song is brilliant on every scale possible. Hold onto your face or the dynamics will kill you.

3. Slither- Velvet Revolver (Rod) ROCKERS ONLY. The love child of Grammy award winners Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum make an awesome rock baby. If you can keep your head from banging in this song I’ll give you a dollar and a cool-low five because for me it’s impossible. Disappointingly every other song they’ve put together is next to garbage, therefore leaving them off of the top ten. Sorry Gun ‘n’ Roses, I’m shooting your flower down.
