Come to the Fall Fiesta of Flowers at the Botanic Garden to enjoy a final celebration of color before plants go dormant for the winter.

With a color palette of purples and oranges, striking, tall and unusual Mexican sage and Lion’s Tail, mums and other flowers decorate the Garden, giving a true fiesta vibe. Hay bales and pumpkins placed among the flowers add to the autumn feel and offer eye-catching photo opportunities.

• If you’re going for the mass ascension or dawn patrol shows be sure to arrive extra early
• Dress warm and bring layers – the mornings start off cold but tend to warm up
• Wear comfortable shoes to be able to walk around and see all the different balloons
• Bring sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun
• Don’t forget the camera!

Why is this? Because New Mexico is so well known for their chile and SALSA! This Saturday, September 24th take the whole family salsa tasting in the heart of Albuquerque at the Old Town Salsa Fiesta!

The Sculpture Garden at Albuquerque Museum will have wine tasting and live music for adults. Throughout the whole festival there will be live salsa music, dancing, and more.

The event will be FREE, however if you want to have a part in tasting and voting for the homemade Salsa Competition you will have to purchase a $4 wristband.

Visit the State Fair at Expo New Mexico this year with the whole family! Enjoy a day full of fun and laughter with all the food, rides, shows, booths, rodeos, and so much more!!!

Friends of the Rio Grande Nature Center will be holding a Summer Wings Festival of Flight. Join them Saturday August 13 from 10 AM to 4 PM for their seventeenth annual festival discovering the wonders of interesting animals such as: hummingbirds, butterflies, dragonflies, and bees.

State park admission is $3 per car, so make sure to carpool! Admission to the festival is FREE!

While you’re there, enjoy a walk through the bosque under the moonlight!  This is a guided tour where you can discover the extraordinary nightlife at the Rio Grande bosque. The moonwalk tour is free (except for the $3 car entrance fee), but you must reserve your spot ahead of time.

Twilight Tours at the Zoo allow for a unique chance to tour the zoo at twilight, and see the animals in a different setting. Take a tour in a small group led by a tour guide who can explain the extraordinary sights and sounds of the twilight tour.
