A MRV Engenharia, maior plataforma de imóveis econômicos do Brasil e nona maior construtora das Américas em valor de mercado lançou em Curitiba no último final de semana um empreendimento que bateu todos os recordes de vendas. As 236 unidades do Spazio Compostela, todas dentro do programa “Minha Casa, Minha Vida”, foram 100% vendidas em apenas seis horas. O empreendimento que será construído na Vila Hauer, uma região de crescente valorização da cidade, é mais um investimento da construtora para a diminuição do déficit habitacional no país.

O residencial Spazio Compostela é condomínio fechado de apartamentos de dois dormitórios com ou sem suíte e três dormitórios com suíte, todos com vaga de garagem. Para garantir o bem estar dos condôminos, o projeto dispõe de ampla estrutura da área de lazer com gazebo, espaço pet, playground, espaço fitness, quadra poliesportiva, pista de cooper e espaço gourmet. Sua localização privilegiada possui uma completa infraestrutura comercial com vários pontos de referencia, entre eles o Shopping Cidade, Bancos HSBC, Real, CEF, Itaú, Lojas Magazine Luiza e Pernambucanas. Entre as vias de acesso estão a Linha Verde e a Av. Marechal Floriano, principal da região.

100% vendido

Segundo o gestor executivo de vendas, Marcelo Alves, apesar de o Spazio Compostela estar 100% vendido, os interessados em adquirir um imóvel neste condomínio podem se cadastrar para preencher vagas de desistência, caso elas surjam. Entretanto, ele ressalta que outros empreendimentos serão lançados em breve: “Lançaremos um complexo de condomínios na região da Linha Verde que terá 1008 unidades”, adianta.

Próximos lançamentos

Conforme Alves, todos os imóveis do complexo que será lançado estarão enquadrados no programa habitacional do governo federal. O primeiro residencial será o Spazio Carmenère e os valores dos apartamentos variaram entre R$ 80 mil e R$ 130 mil. Para os próximos lançamentos que devem acontecer a partir de janeiro de 2010, os consumidores já podem preencher fixas de inscrição nos plantões de vendas da MRV ou nas lojas da imobiliária APOLAR.

Financiamento

Para a compra de um dos imóveis oferecidos pela MRV Engenharia o consumidor poderá contar com os subsídios concedidos pelo governo, que podem chegar a R$ 17 mil. Outra vantagem é que em caso de perda de emprego o comprador vai contar com um seguro que protela em até 36 meses o pagamento das parcelas do financiamento, caso tenha efetuado o pagamento de seis meses para a Caixa. Com o pacote, também houve o barateamento do seguro por invalidez, morte e danos físicos, em dois terços do valor, diminuindo as parcelas, além de taxa de juros serem a partir de 5% ao ano. Esta é uma oportunidade única para a compra da casa própria e a realização de um sonho que trará segurança para toda a família.

O financiamento pode ser feito pela Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF), que oferece planos com prazo de pagamento que chegam até 30 anos. E o mais importante é que as taxas de juros são as menores do mercado e incentivadas pelo Governo Federal. No último mês de dezembro, a Caixa reduziu as taxas de juros dos imóveis populares em até 25%. Os clientes da MRV terão a oportunidade de adquirirem imóveis com juros a partir de 0,37% ao mês.

El día 4 de noviembre  se inauguró en Girona la exposición En Camino, organizada por la Asociación de Cámaras dos Camiños Xacobeos en colaboración con la S.A. de Xestión do Plan Xacobeo de la Xunta de Galicia.

La muestra fotográfica itinerante permanecerá en la sede de la Cámara de Propiedad Urbana de Girona hasta el 13 de noviembre. Los que estéis por la zona de Girona y queráis acercaros  podréis ver una interesante selección de fotos y otros soportes audiovisuales del Camino de Santiago.

Hoy el Ministerio de Fomento anuncia la licitación del Estudio Informativo de la Variante de la N-550 entre Ordes y Sigüeiro.
El presupuesto de licitación asciende a más de 400.000 euros.

Ya sólo falta que comience la tramitación del subtramo Ledoño – Órdenes Norte para completar la totalidad del trayecto.

El Ministerio de Fomento ha licitado los trabajos de consultoría y
asistencia técnica para la redacción del Estudio Informativo de la
Variante de trazado de la carretera N-550 entre Ordes y Sigüeiro, en la
provincia de A Coruña.
El presupuesto de la licitación, publicada hoy en el Boletín Oficial del
Estado, asciende a 404.112,1 euros.
El tramo objeto del estudio tiene 11 kilómetros de longitud y discurre
entre el sur de Ordes y el sur de Sigüeiro, entre los puntos kilométricos
40 y 51 de la N-550.
Características Técnicas:
Las características más importantes a contemplar en el estudio son:
- Es un tramo de autovía que estará formado por dos calzadas de siete
metros, arcenes exteriores de 2,50 m e interiores de uno. El ancho de
la mediana se justificará mediante un estudio técnico-económico.
- Las propiedades colindantes no tendrán acceso directo a la nueva
carretera.
- Se realizará un estudio de tráfico actual y futuro, que incluirá
demanda y movimientos de origen y destino, y que se extenderá a todo
el área de influencia de este tramo.
- Se tendrá en cuenta el planeamiento urbanístico existente en los
municipios afectados.
- Se mantendrá la coordinación adecuada con la Xunta de Galicia,
Cámaras Agrarias, Confederación Hidrográfica y resto de Entidades y
Organismos que pudieran verse afectados.
- Las opciones propuestas se someterán a un análisis de comparación
en base a criterios de rentabilidad económica, ambientales, territoriales
y funcionales.
- Se estudiará con detalle la reposición de caminos, vías pecuarias,
accesos, servidumbres y servicios que resulten afectados.
- Se incluirá la necesidad y conveniencia de disponer áreas de servicio
y descanso en el tramo en estudio.
- El estudio se coordinará con los estudios informativos en redacción de
la variante de Ordes y del tramo Sigüeiro – Padrón.

Last week I wrote my first travel verses for Travelverse. Unlike Darren and Jon, whose first blog entries explained how their interest in travel began, I dove straight into a narration of my family’s trips to Compostela, Nayarit, Mexico.

So now, in the following paragraphs, not only will I tell you how my love for travel was born but hopefully I can inspire you to do some traveling yourself. Bon voyage!

My mom recently called me a wanderer and a gypsy in response to the news that I’d be traveling to Seattle. And considering everywhere I’ve been this year, she’s really not far from the truth. Some evidence to support her claim:

• December 19, 2008 – January 9, 2009: Drove from San Ardo, CA, to Douglas, AZ., where we crossed the border, then drove down Mexico’s west coast until we reached Compostela, Nayarit. Later on, spent a weekend in Puerto Vallarta.

• April 26 – May 12: London, England; Paris and Versailles, France; Madrid and Barcelona, Spain; Venice and Rome, Italy.

• June – August: Spent the summer in New York as an intern in Sports Illustrated’s photo department.

• September 2 – 6: Five-day road trip from Santa Clara, CA, to Atlanta, GA, (crossed Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Alabama) then flew back to CA;

• September 17 – 19: Las Vegas.

• October 4 – 7: Seattle, WA.

So yeah, my mom was right. This year has been my breakout year for traveling, and man did I charge right out of the gate. But if there’s anyone to blame for my globetrotting ways it’s my parents.

One of my earliest memories happens to be my family’s customary road trip to Compostela. I remember sitting in the back seat of a gold-colored ’87 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera Coupe. Smashed between my grandparents, I sat with my five-year-old head sticking through the two front seats. As the car’s high lights cut through the pitch-black darkness and revealed the path ahead, I’d excitedly point and say, “¡Papi, papi, curva peligrosa!” (“Daddy, daddy, dangerous curve!”) I’d heard that phrase on TV, most likely the dubbed version of Speed Racer. Three hundred curves and shouts later, I’d definitely driven my parents nuts, but I didn’t care, it was my very first adventure.

My love for travel was pretty much dormant for many years after that. I had been back to Compostela a couple of times, but it just wasn’t as exciting as the first; besides Compostela, the only other city outside of California I’d been to was Phoenix, AZ. It wasn’t until I landed an internship for Sports Illustrated in 2007 that my love for travel came out of hibernation. I spent that summer in New York and impressed those at SI enough that the company chose to hire me as a reporter for SI and SI Latino. I then lived in Jersey City, NJ (just a little more than a stone’s throw from Manhattan) for two years, with my dream job in my dream city … until the economic crisis hit the country and aforementioned magazine brand laid yours truly off.

Though I was definitely saddened by the news, I left New York with three things that gave me something to smile about:

1) An important network of contacts and friends within the media industry.

2) An awakened desire for travel and the confidence that I could go anywhere and find my way around.

3) A severance package that I had decided would finance my dream tour of Europe, even if that meant I would be completely broke.

Thus began what is undoubtedly the best year of my life. Yeah I lost my dream job and yeah I’ve missed a couple of job opportunities (including one that would’ve seen me back in NYC), but on the other hand I’ve traveled thousands of miles by land and air, I’ve seen the crown jewels, stood on the Eiffel tower, stepped on the sacred turfs of El Bernabéu and Camp Nou, gotten lost in Venetian alleys and walked the ground that ancient Roman sandals treaded upon. I minded the gap, decided not to try escargot, learned that Spanish tortillas (omelets) are not the same as Mexican tortillas (corn or floury deliciousness) and that there is no soccer atmosphere better than Madrid’s when the Merengues play Barcelona, and realized that I’m not as big a fan of legit pizza as I am of legit gelato (Una di stracciatella per favore!).

I write this post as I lay on my bed in San Ardo, where things kicked off to a wonderful adventure on a cold winter morning just about 11 months ago. And as I lay here I can’t help but wonder what future travel adventures await me in the future. First off, I need to really experience everything Mexico has to offer, then definitely a South American tour (I drool over the thought of experiencing a World Cup, and Brazil 2014 sounds awesome). Southeast Asia sounds cool and I’d love to visit the Taj Mahal in India (speaking of Asia, follow Jon’s adventure in Vietnam). And a second trip to Europe, a trip to the Middle East or also one to Africa sound exciting.

There are thousands of places in this world that my Nikon and I – and one or two travel buddies – have yet to visit; hundreds of cultures yet to encounter; and dozens of grand adventures yet to be had. Hopefully you can accompany Darren, Jon and I as we embark on this journey to share our love for travel with you through reviews, tips and live on-site blogs with the aspiration to inspire a love for all that is travel in others.

Remember, it’s just as much about the destination as it is about the journey.

Plan A: Viajar a Salamanca para celebrar el San Lucas y visitar a nuestra Séneca favorita (vale, es la única, pero aún así, es la favorita). Cancelado.

Plan B: Quedarse en Compostela para celebrar la primera cena del año, con la temática: ‘¿Quedamos los que fuimos juntos de Paso de Ecuador? Cancelado.

Plan C: Quedarse en Compostela, y, previo pago de 10€, ir a ver a Mendetz en la Sala Capitol. Cancelado. (Por cierto, también está hoy Coque Malla en el Ultramarinos…)

Plan D: Quedarme en casa viendo el estreno de la 6ª temporada de House. Con casa me refiero a casa de mis padres. Hago un fin de semana atípico, y vuelvo a Santiago el sábado: concierto (gratuito) de The Right Ons. Aprobado (tampoco me queda otra).

Ya veís. Vuelvo a cancelar planes por cuestiones de salud. Aunque esta vez no sea yo el afectado, habrá que cuidar a la familia, ¿no?

Mijn blaren begonnen enorm pijn te doen. Ik stopte bij een boomkapelletje waar een bankje stond, ruste even uit en besloot om het eens met m’n sandalen te proberen. Na deze te hebben aangetrokken, kwam ik al na 100 meter tot de conclusie dat dit alleen nog maar meer pijn deed. Hup, bij de volgende bank in het bos terug m’n schoenen aan, nadat ik eerst compeedpleisters over m’n blaren had gekleefd. En terwijl ik terug van schoeisel aan het wisselen was, kwamen er donkere dreigende onweerswolken opzetten en het begon dan ook iets later zachtjes te druppelen. Ook dat nog!

Terwijl ik door een veld liep vol met appel-en perenbomen, reed een man met een oude koersfiets voorbij en stopte: “Schoon é!” (alle bomen stonden in bloei) zei hij. Hij bleek de appel/peren-boer te zijn. Hugo vertelde me dat ze dit jaar een goede oogst zullen hebben en nam me mee naar een vlabij gelegen jagershutje die op palen hoog boven de plantages uit stak. Ondanks de weinige wind, vond ik dat het hutje nogal veel heen en weer ging, maar het was volkomen veilig volgens den Hugo! Ik keek naar beneden en ik hoopte maar dat hij gelijk had.

De dag van de waarheid was aangebroken. Er zou een toch van 2500 km op me staan wachten die vele ups en downs met zich mee zou brengen. Het was erg vreemd om de aller eerste meters in je eigen straat te stappen, maar ter zelfde tijd ook een heerlijk gevoel van vrijheid, simpel weg de deur achter je dichtrekken en de wijde wereld in te stappen … looking for adventure!

Iets wat ik me altijd zal blijven herinneren aan deze dag, is dat na nog maar een uurtje onderweg te zijn, ik al flink ontmoedigd werd. Ik was aan het Zilvermuseum (Rivierenhof te Deurne) enkele foto’s aan het schieten en terwijl passeer ik er enkele mensen die op een terras aan het genieten zijn van het zonnetje en een heerlijke frisse pint. Ik had toen nog een wimpel aan m’n rugzak hangen (die het na enkele dagen al zou begeven) met daarop ‘Walking 2 Santiago 4 Cambodia’, dus mensen konden perfect zien wat mijn doel was en in plaats van mij wat aan te moedigen, kreeg ik deze woorden naar mijn hoofd geslingerd: “Zo zult ge er ni geraken zene!” Op wat dat moest slagen weet ik ook niet, misschien leek ik te zwaar bepakt en dan nog een met m’n fototoestel rond m’n nek gedraaid. In ieder geval, leuk om zo je eerste dag te beginnen!

Ik moet bekennen dat op momenten dat ik het moeilijk had, vaak aan dit moment terug heb gedacht en dan zei ik tegen mezelf: ‘ik zal eens laten zien dat ik er wél zal geraken!’

“I definitely won’t miss the damn rooster,” I said to my sister, who’d been my roommate for the last three weeks. Since the first day we arrived in Compostela, my cousin’s prized black and white rooster had been waking us up just after 7 a.m. And though I was ready to get away from that damn bird, I wasn’t that ready to leave my parents’ hometown.

Just 21 days prior, my parents, sister and I drove the circa 36 hours it takes to get from San Ardo, Calif. to Compostela, a small town located amid the fertile valleys and clear, blue open skies of the Mexican state of Nayarit. Though the trip was a little longer than expected – we ended up getting lost, driving through Sonora’s treacherous Sierra Puta de Madre (no joke on the title – that was the actual name of the mountain range I drove through, feeling that the car could just slip off the road and plummet a couple hundred feet) –, we arrived safely and without any major holdups.

Since our arrival the weather had been magnificent. Located just three hours north of Puerto Vallarta, Compostela has pretty much the same tropical weather pattern: Sunny and warm in the winter, rainy in the summer. That sunny weather was definitely a welcome change from the cold of California, which, though not as bad as a New York winter, can definitely hold its own.

The last day of our stay was no different. The sun shone bright and we all packed into the car and drove from my parents’ small ranch to the plaza, or town square, which is where all the activity is.

At the northern end of the plaza lies the church and within the church’s 400-year-old walls lie a few holy relics, many antique gold and gold-plated objects, and a variety of centuries-old paintings depicting holy scenes and saints. Every time we travel to Mexico, the church is our first and one of our last stops. The other three stops: A taquería, a snow-cone shop and the candy stand in the plaza.

The taquería is definitely one of our favorite stops for two reasons: The tacos are tasty, and the couple that own the stand are family friends and always give us a few free tacos. Taquería el Chompiras is part of the food court on the second floor of the recently remodeled market, whose first floor houses all the clothes, shoe, toy, candy, piñata, produce and meat posts.

A delicious lunch must be followed with a delicious dessert, and that’s where El Manantial comes in. Across the plaza from the Church, on the southern end, stand the bright orange walls of El Manantial, Compostela’s most famous shop. It’s product: snow cones. These aren’t just your regular run-of-the-mill, food coloring-flavored snow cones though; these treats are 100 percent fruit or nut mix. The ice, which is hand shaved with the use of a metal scraper, is mixed into a large cup with the mix or mixes of your choice (My preferred flavor: Strawberry and nut). Trust me, the first bite into this cold piece of heaven will have you hooked and before you know it you’ll be buying your own metal scraper and your favorite mix – in one quart containers – to bring back home with you.

As if that wasn’t enough, you’ll be tempted by the dozens of fruit carts parked in and around the plaza. They all sell locally grown fruit ranging from mangos to pineapples to coconuts, which you can choose to be covered in lime juice and hot sauce (the two ingredients that any Mexican will tell you automatically make anything taste better). Even better, most of these stands also sell sugar cane, or caña, which you chew until you get all the sweet juice, then spit out when all that is left is the fibers.

And no day-before-departure trip to the plaza…actually, NO trip to the plaza would be complete without a stop at the hand-made candy post in front of the church. In a place with weather like Compostela’s, coconut grows abundantly, and the candy at this post reflects it. There are literally dozens of different types of coconut candy, and they’re all delicious.

But besides the food and the weather, what really makes Compostela a pleasure to be in is the relaxed and friendly environment. It seems like no one is ever in a hurry and they always have time to say hi and talk for a few minutes. It’s as if impatience just doesn’t exist and the only thing that riles up the townspeople are the big soccer game between Chivas de Guadalajara and Águilas del América (Mexico’s most popular teams), and the winter league semi-pro baseball games held uptown in town’s ball stadium. And the fact that there’s only one medium-sized supermarket and a Coppel (Mexico’s version of Sears) helps keep the feeling of small town-ness.

This is why, on the last full day we were there, I sat in the plaza and just took it all in. It was at this point that I was actually glad that our family trips to Mexico have always been to Compostela and not to Americanized tourist traps like Puerto Vallarta (though I have been there once), Cancún and Tijuana (Tee-hooa-na, NOT teeA-hooa-na. See how there’s no “A” after the “I”?). The reason why I’m glad we always do that is because going to Compostela is an authentic Mexican experience where everything in the town is aimed for the Mexican consumer and not for the tourists that visit year-round.

And, as I rose from that bench to make my way home for the long trip that lay in front of us, I looked at the cobblestone streets that have probably have criss-crossed the town since its founding in 1532. Unquestionably, the feeling of what must have been the Mexico of yore still permeates through the pure Compostelan air.

Si todo ha ido bien cuando esta entrada se publique, la dejo programada, estaré en Santiago de Compostela.

No puedo imaginar siquiera lo que podré estar sintiendo entonces, no me atrevo a pensarlo porque creo que se me escapa tanta emoción. Ahora estoy a unos quince días de empezar el Camino y siento como si el tiempo se hubiera detenido.

En fin, como os decía, cuando se publique esto estaré en Santiago si no ha habido contratiempos. Y nos quedaremos hasta el domingo, que regresaremos hacia Triacastela de nuevo para hacer el viaje de vuelta al Puerto y a Cartagena el lunes. Espero poder contaros a mi regreso toda esta experiencia y poder, sobretodo, transmitiros los máximos detalles posibles en un intento de contagiaros a todos de ese torrente de sentimientos que arrastra a uno cuando se está allí.

A PATH

I’ve done this painting thinking about The Camino de Santiago de Compostela (Saint Jaimes’s Route). For creation reference, I used photos from the internet (Google Images) – just for the tombstone and some for the sky too. About the sky, I went after Turner. Nobody paint skies like he does. Sorry for the lack of modesty.

Tonia has arrived in Santiago de Compostela! After 2,500km hiking through Belgium, France and Spain she did it! I told you already how proud I am. Having walked the last 800km myself, I know this is a very impressive journey. Tonia grew tremendously during this trip. I walked a merely 300km with her on this trip and saw her growing every day.

She got rid of a number of fears. She met these special people along the way. New friendships were born and she enjoyed several miracles. Tonia received these incredible insights and also found her life’s purpose, her legacy. This is all so exciting!

When I return home this weekend, I will have a brand new woman. Not just any woman, but a Superwoman. I need to warn you that the picture you see here is my “old” Tonia, the day she started her walk on the 12th of June. She’ll never be the same again… So, next time you meet her, you’ll see this wonderful glow and energy burst around her

Tonia, again, congratulations! It is official now: I am the happiest person on this planet, especially monday when we’ll finally be reunited again!

Oh, by the way, she is completely in shape, so she decided to go to the end of the world, Finisterre. This is the place where the zero-marker is placed. 0km to go, the edge of the world, the vast ocean in front of you. There she will burn her last remaining fears and some clothing as a final ritual and completion of her journey. She is ready for a brand new start! Watch her…
