1. Right-click the picture, and then click Format Picture on the shortcut menu.
2. In the Format dialog box, click the Picture tab, and then click Compress.
3. Under Apply to, do one of the following:To compress all the pictures in your presentation, click All pictures in document.
4. Under Change resolution, do one of the following:If your presentation will be used for a screen show, click Web/Screen.If you plan to distribute your presentation as printed pages, click Print.
5. Under Options, select the Compress pictures check box and the Delete cropped areas of pictures check box.
6. Click OK.
7. If prompted, click Apply in the Compress Pictures dialog box.PowerPoint compresses the picture or pictures for you automatically.

Fraps (derived from Frames per second) is a benchmarking, screen capture, and real-time video capture utility for DirectX and OpenGL applications. It is commonly used to determine a computer’s performance with a game, as well as record gaming footage. The program is very popular in the making of amateur machinima films. Fraps can take screenshots in various formats: BMP, TGA, JPEG, and PNG. In its current form Fraps performs many tasks and can best be described as :

• Benchmarking Software – Show how many Frames Per Second (FPS) you are getting in a corner of your screen. Perform custom benchmarks and measure the frame rate between any two points. Save the statistics out to disk and use them for your own reviews and applications.
• Screen Capture Software – Take a screenshot with the press of a key! There’s no need to paste into a paint program every time you want a new shot. Your screen captures are automatically named and timestamped.
• Realtime Video Capture Software – Have you ever wanted to record video while playing your favourite game? Come join the Machinima revolution! Throw away the VCR, forget about using a DV cam, game recording has never been this easy! Fraps can capture audio and video up to 2560×1600 with custom frame rates from 10 to 100 frames per second!

The lossless Fraps codec allows decoding of Fraps-encoded videos (using a media player capable of decoding the AVI container format) or transcoding to other video formats (with the use of the right software). The Fraps video codec manages to capture videos with minimal impact on game performance, as it has been optimized to achieve compression higher than uncompressed RGB, resulting in smaller filesizes, though the lossless format is considerably less space-efficient than more heavily compressed lossy video formats such as DivX. This is because encoding on-the-fly to a high-compression format such as DivX would have a large negative impact on game performance (as of 2007) and only a very fast hard drive could record the immense amount of data produced in using uncompressed video. The Fraps format is a compromise of the two.

O practică bună când folosești mult cod JavaScript / jQuery este să comprimi fișierele sursă fiindcă în acest fel vei obține timpi de încărcare a siteului tău mult mai mari, și când spun mult, e mult! De reținut că o astfel de compresie nu doar elimină spațiile albe și pune tot codul pe o singură linie, dar mai și redenumește variabile și funcții așa încât aceste nume să fie cât mai scurte. Am văzut, de exemplu, variabile care erau redenumite în formatul _1, _2, _3, ș.a.m.d.

Try a nice cool compress.

Fill a large bowl with tepid to cool water add 2 drops of lavender and 1 drop of spearmint into the water, gently agitate with your hand to help break up the essential oil molecules. Place a face cloth or small hand towel onto the surface of the water and then gently squeeze out the excess water. Place over you face, around the back of your neck and across your de’colletage. This can be repeated several times.

Another method is to make a spritzer. In an opaque or coloured glass bottle add purified water and essential oils, spray away to you hearts content, this is one of my favourites ways of using essential oils. here is a couple of blends.

Use as a room or body spray.

5 drops Sandalwood, 10 drops lemon and 8 drops myrtle.

10 drops Lavender, 3/4 drops spearmint in rosewater.

give the bottle a gentle shake before use to help combine the oils and water.

N.B. Always research the properties and contra- indications of the products you use or seek the advice of a proffessional therapist. If ever in doubt do not use essential oils.

Todays world is an on line world. Those on line seek to share their experiences with others via images and videos. But this would all not be possible if it wasn’t for the data compression techniques. The reasons for this compression arise from the fact that there are transmission bandwidth limitations in place in order to give everyone fair access to the World Wide Web. Web administrators also look to cut as many costs as possible such as storage capacity in order to hold more for less.

So how do we compress data then? Well the aim is to obtain a more efficient representation of the image while preserving the essential information  contained in the data. This is done by using clever information about how we perceive our environment. In images, not all the information is needed to represent it on a computer screen. This is due to the fact that the human eye is less sensitive to fine color detail than it is to fine brightness details due to the densities of receptors in the eye. The human eye is also good at seeing small differences in brightness over large areas but not exact strengths of high frequency brightness variations. This all simply means that the eye does not see all the colors in the environment and is also more sensitive to different brightness variations. Therefore by removing duplicate and redundant information, we can compress an image or video. However audio is a little more difficult due to the fact that our ears have a far more dynamic range of sounds than the eye has to pictures.

There are two main types of compression being Lossless and Lossy. Lossless compression retains more data at the expensive to lower compression. It also offers the advantage that the image can be encoded/decoded without loss of information. Lossy on the other hand provides higher compression ratios though poorer image quality. Despite the loss of information, the lossy algorithms can encode and decode images without any “visual” difference (for the human eye) from the original image.

To compress data, there are 5 main algorithms that exist. These being Run Length Encoding, Chain Coding, Vector Quantization, Arithmetic Coding, Predictive Coding. I shall not go into how each of these work, but if any of you need an explanation, leave a comment and ill be happy to explain it to you.
In terms of compression, the choice of algorithm depends on 3 factors: compression efficiency, compression complexity and the distortion.

Image Compression
A picture is worth a thousand words. But without compression techniques, how would we display the trillions of images on the WWW today.
JPEG (Joint Photographic Expert Group) is the most popular image compression technique designed for gray scale and full color images of natural world scenes due to the fact more data can be removed and can be either simple or progressive for web pages. JPEG uses a lossy compression technique to exploit the known limitations of the human eye as mentioned above. It allows a trade-off between quality and size. The main disadvantage of this algorithm is the fact that repeated compression and decompression results in increased degradation. Gray scale images compress less than that of color images as the human is more sensitive to the brightness variations than to hue variations. Compression ratios of up to 20 to 1 are possible. The algorithm proceeds as follows:

1. Translate the image into a suitable color
2. Group the pixel values into 8×8 blocks (experiment prove thats the best section size)
3. Apply a Discrete Cosine Transformation (DCT) – I assume you know what that is, if not drop me a comment
4. Divide each block by a separate quantization coefficient based on luminance and round the result to the nearest integer
5. Next to more encoding using either Huffman or arithmetic coding.
6. Output the image

Video Compression
MPEG (Moving Pictures Expert Group) is one of the best compression techniques for videos and draws its inspiration from JPEG. It is used to represent video and audio signals exploiting more perceptual redundancies and allows for up to 30 to 1 compression ratios however audio is less due to the fact explained above. The algorithm basically predicts the  motion from frame to frame in the temporal direction, and then uses discrete cosine transforms to organize the redundancy in the spatial directions.

1. Convert the image to YUV space
2. Apply the discrete cosine transforms (DCTs) to 8×8 blocks and use the luminance channel to predict the motion
3. Quantize the DCT coefficients
4. Encode the DCT coefficients + parameters using Huffman/arithmetic coding

Bicara jujur, bagus mana, gambar “GWK” (Garuda Wisnu Kencana) yang ini atau sebelumnya? (Yang ini.. ii.)

Aturan “1/3″ alias “sepertiga” disinggung sekilas di posting lalu. Aturan “1/3″ membantu cropping; “1/3″ bukan aturan, lebih tepat disebut alat bantu pengatur keseimbangan konten foto atau gambar.

Bagi yang bukan pakar foto seperti saya, yang kalau ambil foto asal-asalan, setting semua otomatis, jepret sesukanya, yang penting wajah yang jual tampang harus jelas. Tidak begitu, ada tekniknya! Bahwa harus jelas, ya, tetapi keadaan di sekitarnya juga penting. Buka dulu ah, pustaka pintar “Aturan 1/3“…

Kita berimajinasi membagi ruang gambar di layar kamera dengan membagi 3 (karena itu disebut 1/3). Diperoleh 3 x 3 kotak, disebut grid, menjadi 9 kotak seperti ini,

Obyek itu sebaiknya ditaruh di salahsatu 4 titik-fokus atau 4 garis-fokus, 2 garis mendatar (H, horisontal) dan 2 garis tegak (V, vertikal). Ooh ..gitu, selama ini biasanya (selalu) menempatkan obyek tepat di tengah!

Wajah obyek juga sering didekatkan (close-up). Ini dihindari; kalau pun harus dekat, mata ditempatkan di garis- fokus H atas. Garis juga dipakai sebagai batas horison pemandangan. Ooh ..gitu. Banyak lagi tipsnya, intinya tetap 4 titik-fokus dan 4 garis-fokus tadi.

Langsung bereksperimen dengan foto “GWK” (Garuda Wisnu Kencana) yang kemarin itu. Sekarang dipasangi grid 3×3. Ah, benar juga, komposisi gambar kemarin tidak mengikuti aturan. Kurang bagus. Diperbaiki lagi dengan urutan sepert ini,

Semua dikerjakan dengan program Paint kecuali grid; grid dibuat dengan bantuan tabel Power Point, setelah itu di-kopas (copy-paste) ke gambar di Paint. Hasil akhirnya seperti gambar di atas. Cukup spektakuler? Menurut saya ’sih ..iya. Enjoy dan puas (untuk saat ini).

  Are you looking for a tool which compress your files to a size as small as a worm-whole. Here is a tool called KGB Archiver.  KGB Archiver is the compression tool with unbelievable high compression rate. It surpasses even such efficient compression tool like 7zip and UHARC in terms of the abilities.

  KGB Archiver is an application created to allow you to compress and decompress files. Unfortunately although its powerful compression rate, it has high hardware requirements ( processor with 1.5GHz clock and 256MB of RAM as an essential minimum).

   When compressing you have two output formats to choose from: KGB and ZIP. The compression level for KGB archives is quite impressive

   There are 10 levels of compression that you can select: minimal, very weak, weak, normal, medium, above medium, good, very good, extreme and maximum. This is a wider variety than what all the other related programs have to offer.

   When working with compression levels up to the Good one, you will pretty much get the same result as you would with any other archiving application. But, when you land in the next category (very good, extreme and maximum) things do change dramatically. You files become more smaller and your system memory usage goes up.

   One thing i don’t like about this program is that it has a wizard look and once you’ve selected one of the three options from the main screen, there’s no turning back. Your only option to go back to a previous step is by closing the program and running it again.

   One of the advantage of KGB Archiver is AES-256 encryption which is used to encrypt the archives. This is one of the strongest encryptions known for human.

   Using KGB for higher compression level slow down your system, it better to write the DVD at 1X speed. But if you use it under very good compression level then this is a good compression tool i have ever used.

For centuries the Thai people have been using dried herbs to treat many different aliments in the body. One of the best types of treatments for muscle and soft tissue pain  is used in the form of a herbal compress. For centuries this ball was typically used on soldiers returning from battle to get immediate responses to inflammation from wounds and injuries. It was also used for treating soreness and pain from tired, achy muscles and joints.

Now, they are used in many forms around the world. In north America we typically see them being used for personal use as home remedies for treatment of small wounds, inflamed joints or even menstrual cramps.

For years spas in Europe and more recently in North America, have been using the power of the herbal compress to lure clients into an ancient world of the past, surrounding them with rich enticing aromas and deep moist heat that alleviate stress from everyday living.

Massage clinics have also started treating clients with the herbal compress, using them in Thai massage treatments. This is great for the removal of toxins during inflammation, improving muscle tone tension, and easing aches and pains from many conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia and soft tissue injuries.

In Thailand the typical compress is created using traditional herbs commonly grown in Thailand. These herbs have both medicinal and aesthetic uses and are absorbed into the body  through the skin and nose. Of course the herbs themselves can be ingested as well but when used in a compress there is no need for ingestion. All three methods allow the medicinal properties of the herbs to have profound effects in body.

A poultice is similar to the compress but is usually used as a home remedy. To make a poultice for home, one would need the herb or substance of choice, say oatmeal, place it on a square of material, wrap it up, heat it, and place it on the area for relief. Some poultices can be used for extended periods, for example the Castor oil wrap. These types of wraps can be left on over night and kept in the fridge or freezer for future use.

Prepackaged compress balls are great for use in spas or clinics. They can be purchased in a multitude of recipes but the basic Thai compress can treat a variety of conditions. Typically, they are steamed and applied to the client either on the skin directly or through the clothes.

Some spas use the compress in their heated body treatments that involve massage techniques, and oil. In clinics, the massage therapist would press the heated compress into the muscle belly and over the joints allowing the heat and the herbs to be absorbed deeply into the tissue. When being steamed the pouch reveals an intense and pleasing aroma that is inhaled through the nose while breathing deeply during the treatment.

This ancient treatment tool has come a long way. The herbal compress is becoming a staple in homes and professional settings around the world. It’s has many uses and the affects are amazing!

Here is a fairly simple and old technique I had forgot about and works wonders. You will never have to leave your BlackBerry to do the job of a laptop/desktop.

1) dL and install free BBNotepad

2) open BBNotepad hit BB key go to open

3) Browse SDCard/Directory where .rar/.zip is stored

4) Scroll down to your .rar/.zip file hit BB key and scroll to unzip

5) enjoy your files

There is also another app that does compress/extract files, it’s FileScout but only does .zip and not .rar, thus I have both installed and serve different purposes for me.

Using this mini “tutorial” along side my other for Unlimited dL via BlackBerry Browser, I never have to get on laptop/desktop to dL music/movies and I can do it on the go
