July 2011,Taliban,The text in quotes is Ralph Peter’s who Writes foir the N.Y POST, the text in BOLD is mine!

“Just plain nuts: That’s the only possible characterization for last night’s presidential declaration of surrender in advance of a renewed campaign in Afghanistan. ” (What a Commander in Chief, gives up before he starts)
“President Obama will send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan — but he’ll “begin the transfer of our forces out of Afghanistan in July of 2011.” Then why send them?” (The election is in 2012 isn’t it)

“If you’re going to tell the Taliban to be patient because we’re leaving, what’s the point in upping the blood ante? For what will come down to a single year by the time the troops hit the ground?” (Hang on Taliban, when we leave we wiull give the Afghanian people alot of equipment and munitions that you can rip off for your own)

“Does Obama really expect to achieve in one year what we haven’t been able to do in more than eight?”
(He knows not what he is doing and neither do his advisors)

“And what did this “new strategy” come down to, otherwise? More of the same, but more: More troops, more civilians, more partnership.” (How about more LIES)

“Well, the troops will go, the civilians won’t — and the partnerships are a fantasy.” (The civilians and our so called “partners” are both to smart to fall for this load of troops he is sending with orders not to shoot anyone)

“Our president is setting up our military to fail — but he’ll be able to claim that he gave the generals what they wanted. Failure will be their fault.” (Once again it is all about Barack Hussein Obama and Chicago Machine Dirty Politics)

“He’s covering his strong-on-security flank, even as he plays to our white-flag wavers. His cynicism’s worthy of a Saddam.” (Obama isn’t much on knowledge to be a President but he sure knows how to cover his ass)

“This isn’t just stupid: It’s immoral. No American president has ever espoused such a worthless, self-absorbed non-strategy for his own political gratification.” (This President is worthless and self=absorbed and only interested in what is good for Barack Hussein Obama)

“On the other hand, the stage lighting and the camera angles at West Point were terrific. Our president looked good. Jaw jutting high (in his “hope” pose), he decried political partisanship — but spent more time blaming Bush and Iraq for our Afghan problems than he spent blaming the Taliban” (Why did he choose West Point for this televised speech? I know, you figure it out! Blaming GWB is getting real old, it’s been a year Barack, get off it)

“Nor did Obama miss a single chance to praise himself, insisting that he’s already transformed our relationship with the Middle East (please notify the Iranians, al Qaeda, Hezbollah and Hamas) and that all of his dithering demonstrated wisdom.” (Of course, Barack Hussein Obama can do no wrong, He just can’t see anything around him because of the brightness of his own self believed halo)

“This guy loves to hear himself talk. The last quarter of the speech was boiler-plate rhetoric that wandered off into the clouds. And that human-rights stuff? Where was that during his visits to China and Saudi Arabia? Hypocrisy, thy name is Barack.” (He talks and talks and talks and says nothing)

“Above all, where was the strategy? And where are the four-star resignations over a policy designed to squander American lives just to give an administration political cover?” (I wonder what will come of the numbers of our military killed in Afghanistan after this, will we be told truth or the Obamaized version?)

“After eight years of failure to create effective Afghan security forces and a responsible government, does anyone believe we can do it in 12 to 18 months?” (Obama will wave his magic wand and it will become so, Yeah sure it will))

“Target the insurgency”? Does that mean our soldiers will finally be permitted to go after our enemies and kill them? Nope. Those troops are going to “secure population centers.” We’ll be passive and let the enemy choose where and when to strike.”( you betcha, rules of engagement will be very strict, Obama surely doesn’t want a high body count for the Taliban to militate against him)

When fighting insurgents and terrorists, if you’re not slamming them up against the wall and breaking their bones, you’re losing. Obama isn’t sending more troops — he’s sending more targets.

“By the time Obama finally got to Pakistan — the refuge of evil — he was spouting pure nonsense: “We are committed to a partnership with Pakistan that is built on a foundation of mutual interests, mutual respect and mutual trust.” But our interests diverge, we don’t respect each other and we certainly don’t trust each other. ” ( What is it with Obama and Pakistan , better know as Evilistan, he always manages to make them appear the victims, maybe it is because he has so many wealthy Pakistani friends and donors to his campaigns!)

Mr. President, you are a dim bulb and have sent our troops into a trap and sold the country of Afghanistan down the river. You have made yourself (you think) bullet proof by trying to appease both sides, the hawks and the gutless doves! You have erred greatly and will pay as your asinine waiting for months and coming up with this cockamayme plan is nothing but political suiside!

THE average new mortgage in Australia has hit an all-time high of $367,000 according to mortgage bro

THE average new mortgage in Australia has hit an all-time high of $367,000 according to mortgage broker Australian Finance Group.

But Queenslanders have been more conservative than the rest of the country, with the average new mortgage in Queensland sitting at $325,000.

The average home loan in New South Wales is now $433,000; in Western Australia it is $391,000 and $386,000 in the Northern Territory.

Australians have been increasingly taking on bigger mortgages, with the average new home loan 6.4 per cent larger than it was in May 2009.

Queensland bucked this trend, however, with new mortgages taken out in November $10,000 smaller than the previous month and close to the state’s January low of $323,000.

Home loans in both Victoria and New South Wales grew since May – up 12.1 per cent and 10.7 per cent respectively.

The news comes after the Reserve Bank of Australia announced on Tuesday that it was lifting the official cash rate for the third successive time.

The latest 0.25 per cent rise, when passed on by lenders, will cost home-owners with a $367,000 mortgage on a standard variable rate an extra $56 a month, while those slugged with a 0.45 per cent rate hike face an increase of $102 per month.

First-home buyers accounted for just 13.7 per cent of all new mortgages in November, down from their peak of 28.1 per cent in March.

Investors have been steadily returning to the property market over the past four months and represent a third of all new mortgages in November.

Of those who took out a new mortgage in November, only 2.1 per cent opted for a fixed-rate, down from 3 per cent the previous month.

Total numbers of new mortgages were lower than previous months.

Mark Hewitt of Australian Financial Group said: “October and November are seasonally strong months in the calendar, but we’ve seen two straight months of decline.

“Larger average mortgages and greater activity by investors are usually signs of a confident market but confidence is still fragile.

“We believe the RBA hiked rates too quickly and too soon.”

The letter I refer to is Michael Moore’s open letter to Barack Obama on Moore’s crap website posted a day before Obama’s speech at West Point. Allow me to post some of this deliciousness that you may bask in the glory that is Michael Francis Moore.

Do you really want to be the new “war president”? If you go to West Point tomorrow night (Tuesday, 8pm) and announce that you are increasing, rather than withdrawing, the troops in Afghanistan, you are the new war president. Pure and simple. And with that you will do the worst possible thing you could do — destroy the hopes and dreams so many millions have placed in you. With just one speech tomorrow night you will turn a multitude of young people who were the backbone of your campaign into disillusioned cynics. You will teach them what they’ve always heard is true — that all politicians are alike. I simply can’t believe you’re about to do what they say you are going to do. Please say it isn’t so.

I really enjoy that he posted this the day before BO’s speech and wrote “if you go to West Point tomorrow night” as if this letter that BO isn’t going to read will change his mind. He also says that BO will be the new “war president”… I have never heard that phrase before but since Michael Moore has such power and stature, he will label BO whatever he pleases and it will stick! Here was my favorite part in that last paragraph “And with that you will do the worst possible thing you could do — destroy the hopes and dreams so many millions have placed in you.”

So what you are saying is that the millions of lives of the people who live in Afghanistan mean virtually nothing. Especially when compared to an American right? So disappointing the sycophants who voted for you is worse than disappointing an entire country who wants freedom from oppression? At this point, who really cares about disappointing young voters who really didn’t care to think for themselves when heading to the voting booth? Regardless of what BO’s decision on Afghanistan was, someone was bound to be displeased.

Let us continue:

It is not your job to do what the generals tell you to do. We are a civilian-run government. WE tell the Joint Chiefs what to do, not the other way around. That’s the way General Washington insisted it must be. That’s what President Truman told General MacArthur when MacArthur wanted to invade China. “You’re fired!,” said Truman, and that was that. And you should have fired Gen. McChrystal when he went to the press to preempt you, telling the press what YOU had to do. Let me be blunt: We love our kids in the armed services, but we f*#&in’ hate these generals, from Westmoreland in Vietnam to, yes, even Colin Powell for lying to the UN with his made-up drawings of WMD (he has since sought redemption).

“You’re fired!” hahaha. Yea that’s a great point, fire General McChrystal for doing his job and advising the President on how to proceed in the country that HE supervises. Why would McChrystal know the best course militarily? It’s not like he is in charge of that region and is a General in the U.S. military. Oh wait…

“We love our kids in the armed services, but we f*#&in’ hate these generals,”

Why is that? I’m pretty sure these Generals were once “kids in the armed service”, unless they were born Generals….it’s possible. Why hate these Generals? McChrystal is a stand up cat and doing what he knows is best. Instead of leaving Afghanistan in disarray and letting it fall back to being an Islamic run country ripe with oppression and fear, McChrystal suggests something that is crazy…a strategy to win the war. What a nut job

You know that nothing good can come from sending more troops halfway around the world to a place neither you nor they understand, to achieve an objective that neither you nor they understand, in a country that does not want us there. You can feel it in your bones.

Nothing good can come from this huh? Like victory, that would be bad for you and your career huh Mike?

Yea, I’m sure of all people in America, Michael Moore is the one who knows what the people in Afghanistan want. This isn’t Vietnam, Mike. This is Afghanistan; this isn’t a war we asked to be a part of. We did not ask for Al Qaida to fly planes into buildings and we didn’t ask the Taliban to harbor Al Qaida or allow them to train and plan within their borders. Your right Mike, the people of Afghanistan hate being free from oppression. I’m sure the women there hate being able to vote and send their daughters to school. Who would know more of what the people of Afghanistan want more than a fat documentary filmmaker from Michigan?

Who's that fat chick with Hugo Chavez?

Check this out, this is awesome:

Don’t be deceived into thinking that sending a few more troops into Afghanistan will make a difference, or earn you the respect of the haters. They will not stop until this country is torn asunder and every last dollar is extracted from the poor and soon-to-be poor.

I’m assuming that the “haters” are Republicans which, if true, means that statement makes little sense. Since when is the Republican platform to make poor people even poorer? I think you got your parties backwards Mike. And of course, the other big selling point for the Republican Party is to destroy America. This coming from a guy who made a movie about how much capitalism sucks, who subscribes to a party that is full of progressives who idolize Che and Mao. This coming from the party who wants to raise taxes on the rich even though the rich already pay over 90 % of all taxes. This from a party who wants universal health care were you would pay penalties for NOT buying what the government is selling. Yea, that makes sense.

What would Martin Luther King, Jr. do? What would your grandmother do? Not send more poor people to kill other poor people who pose no threat to them, that’s what they’d do. Not spend billions and trillions to wage war while American children are sleeping on the streets and standing in bread lines.

So you have to be poor to be in the military. And while in the military, you go and kill people from an organization who are obviously poor since they get funds and weapons from Iran. And the best part of that was, Al Qaida and the Taliban “pose no threat to them”. I could write a large book on just that one quote. Actually, I believe books have been written on how Al Qaida is a threat to “them” or rather, “us”. What a moron this guy is, “no threat”?! You kidding me? 9/11 was less than a decade ago and he already forgot? Murdering 3,000 people is “no threat”? RPG’s, road-side bombs and rockets are not threats. When I was in Iraq, “no threat” landed in our base on a daily basis exploding and injuring Americans. But what do I know, I’m just a poor person sent to kill other poor people. Oh yea, and since I’m also a conservative, I’m a hater too.

Well, Moore continues in his letter to beg and plead with BO, “There’s still time! Stop the madness!” but I’m sure you get the point. Moore, who is known for cutting up videos and newspaper articles to fit his ideology to put in his sub-par movies, continues the legacy by making stuff up in a sub-par letter to a guy who won’t ever read it. If you read this letter, you too could poke so many holes through it that it will look like a screen door. But Mike wouldn’t know what a screen door is since only poor-folk in the military have those.

Candice Hoeppner: I think it was a disgrace. I think it was a very, very sad show on behalf of these opposition parties. Today was the day to remember these women who were killed. Not only to remember them, but to remember many many other women and victims of violence. I was at that event. And today I took a lot of shots in the House of Commons because I was at that event. Early 2008 I lost a very close family friend who was shot and pregnant at the time. She was murdered. Her name was Joanne Hoeppner. I was there, and I was remembering her. But somehow because I’m part of the conservative party and maybe I’m a woman who doesn’t represent some of the oppositions point of view, they think I don’t deserve to be there. And I should sit down and be quiet. I was very offended. I think that the families probably would also be upset. This is not a political event. It should not have been a political event. This should have been about remembering.

The more I look at the landscape of South Carolina politics, the more I feel like I am watching a Hi

The more I look at the landscape of South Carolina politics, the more I feel like I am watching a History Channel special on Nero observing Rome burn to the ground. The state lawmakers, especially the Republicans, are watching from the second floor of the capitol enjoying and taking part in the show. There are some serious problems in South Carolina right now. The double digit unemployment rate is bad. The ballooning size of the federal government is worse. Tremendous challenges exist in South Carolina education. Is there no one to give attention to these issues or is there focus going to remain on political war?

Being a South Carolina lawmaker comes with a South Carolina responsibility. These are big shoes that have to be filled. For instance, John C. Calhoun once fought the federal government over unconstitutional laws in his Nullification Debate. I can look at the entire legislature and tell you, there is not one John C. Calhoun present.

However, that may be a result of still having the voice voting system in the Senate. We may be surprised who will pop up when transparent voting takes place there. Instead of fighting the biggest problem this generation will ever face, state lawmakers find Mark Sanford to be a much more viable target.

This is the type of Political cleansing done by the Republican Party elite. This is the type of cleansing that makes me ashamed to associate with some members of the Republican Party. Is it a social club or is it a group dedicated to serving the interests of the people? When a Governor makes a point to bring pigs in the statehouse, utilizes a horse and buggy, plays the hard line with stimulus funding, and does not bow to the pressure of other Republicans, he marks himself in the eyes of Republican leaders like Glenn McConnell, Bobby Harrell, and even Jakie Knotts. Our lawmakers are merely sparring and bottom feeding on their own like a bunch of aggressive Beta fish. Is there no clear voice to lead us towards a better South Carolina?

Lawmakers, including a majority of Republicans, try to impeach Gov. Sanford because he got caught sinning. I ask these men and women, are you without sin? If this is about sin, let’s impeach every single lawmaker in the state and federal government. Since when was being without sin a qualification to be a lawmaker or even Governor? This isn’t even a qualification to be a priest.

I guarantee you none of them are perfect. If there was one perfect man, he would have all of the solutions and be able to pass them to fix our decaying state. This is about far more than Sanford’s affair with “beautiful Maria.” This is about his hard-line stances and his true Conservatism.

I find it to be a rarity for any lawmaker to stand up for the best interests of South Carolinians. Rep. Joe Wilson’s outburst doesn’t count. Mark Sanford, truth be told, knows that limited government is the best form and was willing to make it as limited as possible before his affair. Don’t crucify the man for obeying the true meaning of our Constitution. Also, don’t make a legislative session out of a sin many consistently commit and many lawmakers have committed. There has been a target on his back for years.

The only reason his indiscretion is brought up is because he got caught and that is a convenient target for his opponents. There are much bigger problems to worry about than Sanford’s indiscretions and possible “Ethics” concerns.

This debate goes much further than just Mark Sanford. Senator Glenn McConnell has made it his prerogative to ruin the career of a noble jurist, family court judge Charlie Segars-Andrews. Since her votes may not have always gone to elect McConnell and his friends, it appears they believe she does not understand the laws enough to be a Judge anymore after 16 years on the bench. Therefore, she is being cleansed by South Carolina politicians, notably Republicans, because she isn’t in the good ole boy system. This is a South Carolina tragedy and just another example of how our leaders do not lead.

These personal attacks have gone far enough. Many South Carolina lawmakers are more concerned with personal problems than the dire problems our state faces. Who are they going to attack when our state is succumbed by the Federal government? I would like to see them try and remove Hillary Clinton when her ideology doesn’t mesh well in the future North American union. That is a Jihad in itself.

If these personal attacks are going to continue, why not take them to those that are not serving South Carolina’s best interest? I know beyond any doubt Gov. Sanford and Judge Andrews are not the real problem. Rep. Jim Clyburn and Rep. John Spratt are two of the enormous problems. Why don’t they get any criticism? They consistently vote to increase our national debt by funding extraneous programs like bridges to nowhere, socialism in America, and vote against the sovereignty of our state. Governor Sanford stood up for sovereignty and responsible spending at one time. Look where it got him!

Then there is Rep Bob Inglis who couldn’t be more out of touch with what his constituents actually want him to do. He even voted against a Congressman who embarrassed the state but still should be commended for taking a stand. Go after those that are truly hurting the state not those that do not mesh well with the GOP establishment. Unfortunately, this will not happen because our lawmakers act out of revenge for hurt feelings and hypocrisy rather than integrity and principle.

South Carolina is burning to the ground and one would think it is because of the unemployment rate and because of the growing federal government’s hand squeezing our necks. However, the match that lit the torch was done by the GOP establishment sitting in the halls of our capitol. Political cleansing has hurt our state’s potential. We have succumbed to politics instead of truly making a difference and taking a stand with principle. The people of South Carolina are tired of it. Where is a true leader at?

Why can’t our state begin standing up against the Socialist Obama Administration? Where are the John C. Calhouns when we need them? What we have is a mob of Romans plotting against each other and several Neros fiddling as they watch our “state burns” to lower levels of mediocrity. How much further will this go before a true leader stands up and says ENOUGH?

Corzine Spends Money

Well, ok. It’s not exactly a shocker. Look at NJ finances. Here are excerpts from an article about spending.

Corzine’s total tally for his 3 campaigns: $131M

He spent $131 million of his own money on three runs for political office since 2000, including primaries, according to an Associated Press analysis of federal and state campaign finance data, including a report issued Tuesday by the state Election Law Enforcement Commission. [...]

“After $130 million, what he got out of it was a term in the Senate, a term in the Statehouse and a portrait in the outer office,” said Peter McDonough, an adjunct professor at Rutgers University’s Eagleton Institute of Politics and a former communications director for Republican former Gov. Christie Whitman.

Sheila Krumholz, executive director of the Center of Responsive Politics, says it’s safe to say that Corzine has spent more of his own money to run for office than anyone in U.S. history other than New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. [...]

He was pushed out of his job at the helm of Goldman Sachs in 1999 and used his fortune to help him burst onto the state’s political scene. In 2000, the Democrat was elected to the U.S. Senate. In 2005, he was elected governor. And last month, after spending $27 million on a bitter campaign—$25.3 million of it his own—he lost to Republican Chris Christie, who spent $11.4 million. [...]

Over the years, Corzine’s political spending goes beyond what he spent on his campaigns.

He’s spent $5.7 million on campaigns and other political causes inside New Jersey since 1999, the year he launched his Senate campaign. In that time, he’s also spent about $2.9 million on federal campaigns and political action committees.

Add that to what he’s spent on his own campaigns and his total political spending comes to $139.7 million over 11 years. And that doesn’t include final numbers for how much he donated to campaigns other than his own this year, how much he bankrolled municipal candidates, or the charitable donations that his critics say were made to curry political favor. One example of those: Last year, Corzine gave $87,0000 to St. Matthew AME Church in Orange. This year, the pastor there, Reginald Jackson, who is also head of the important Black Ministers Council, endorsed Corzine.

While Corzine’s total is staggering in terms of political spending, it’s modest compared to the state’s financial problems.

Spending…

NJ debt climbs to $33.9 bln in FY09-report

TRENTON, New Jersey, Dec 1 (Reuters) – New Jersey’s official state debt rose to $33.9 billion in the fiscal year ended June 30, from $31.86 billion in the previous year, according to an official report obtained on Tuesday.

The annual Debt Report by the state Treasury shows that when obligations such as pensions and health benefits are included, the state’s total debt load increased to $51.25 billion at the end of fiscal 2009 from $44.5 billion a year earlier.

$51.25 billion in debt.

New Jersey paid $2.5 billion in debt service in fiscal 2009, excluding the obligations of agencies such as the state’s light rail system and the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority. Including their debt, service on New Jersey’s debt totaled $2.91 billion, the report said.

In NJ, The State can’t borrow money without voter approval. To get around that, they set up front groups called “Authorities” to borrow money, so they can claim “The State” isn’t borrowing money. Does that include debt by “authorities” such as the School Construction Corp. (whatever it’s called today), Turnpike Authority, Port “Authority, etc?? Is doesn’t say.

Spend too much money and you wind up with debt.

$51.25 billion.

We are already one of the highest taxed states in the nation. They have to stop spending so much.

Where would you start cutting?

Old news is better than no news!

Adrian Pearson over at the Journal appears to be reaching that Christmas hiatus and winding down gently with a recycled “cheeky story” about South Tyneside Conservative councillor David Potts, without mentioning the Conservative Candidate for Jarrow councillor Jeff Milburn. It’s old news but better than no news at all in a newsman’s blog, even clllr. Khan was on to it the next morning!

Big question is, who pointed Pearson to the picture and supplied details of the story? I somehow cannot imagine that he routinely follows the Tweets of David Potts, Ahmed Khan or all the other councillors on his north-east patch, but I could be wrong. However as Christmas approaches and political stories begin to run dry I guess he just needs something to fill his time, and it gives me a good excuse to redistribute a picture of the Cheeky Girls.

R. Kelly’s latest album is titled “untitled.” This album is definitely not for someone who is conservative. Many of the songs include sexual innuendo. Lyrically I was a little disappointed. There was not a lot of variety. I really don’t have much to say about this album except for mediocre. If I were to get tracks off of this album I would get, “Echo”, “Religious”, and “Elsewhere.” If you are into a more risque song then “Pregnant” would be a song for you.

While recurrent themes can become tedious to attend to, this one is important. I haven’t had time to dig too deeply into the president’s speech or the rightwing and Republican (mis)reaction to it, I did pick up this little gem over at <del datetime="2009-12-02T04:40:56+00:00">redstate.com</del> Trike Force HQ:

First, notice how the only respondent to the commenter as of this writing jokes that Obama supporters will try to deny that what happened in Obama’s tenth month in office was in fact terrorism. While many did hesitate to jump to the automatic conclusion that it was an act of terrorism, I have certainly not heard anyone deny that it was terrorism.

Second, and much more astoundingly, the first commenter is vigorously impugning Obama’s competence because of an attack by a single individual that killed 13 people and happened in Obama’s tenth month, despite the fact that Obama or anyone in his administration had heard any of the reports about Hasan’s disturbed behavior.

And the commenter compares this record unfavorably to the last seven years of Bush’s presidency.

Of course the commenter is unaware of the superhuman level of self delusion they operate under, but it could be hoped that someone else might point out the obvious.

But, given the current state of the rightwingers and Republicans, that appears to be too much to ask.

UPDATE: Whatsupwiththat.com has a summary up of this report. Some of the highlights:
    * The Climate Research Unit at East Anglia had profited to the tune of at least $20 million in “research” grants from the Team’s activities.
* The Team had tampered with the complex, bureaucratic processes of the UN’s climate panel, the IPCC, so as to exclude inconvenient scientific results from its four Assessment Reports, and to influence the panel’s conclusions for political rather than scientific reasons.
* The Team had conspired in an attempt to redefine what is and is not peer-reviewed science for the sake of excluding results that did not fit what they and the politicians with whom they were closely linked wanted the UN’s climate panel to report.
* They had tampered with their own data so as to conceal inconsistencies and errors.
* They had emailed one another about using a “trick” for the sake of concealing a “decline” in temperatures in the paleoclimate.
* They had expressed dismay at the fact that, contrary to all of their predictions, global temperatures had not risen in any statistically-significant sense for 15 years, and had been falling for nine years. They had admitted that their inability to explain it was “a travesty”. This internal doubt was in contrast to their public statements that the present decade is the warmest ever, and that “global warming” science is settled.
* They had interfered with the process of peer-review itself by leaning on journals to get their friends rather than independent scientists to review their papers.
* They had successfully leaned on friendly journal editors to reject papers reporting results inconsistent with their political viewpoint.
* They had campaigned for the removal of a learned journal’s editor, solely because he did not share their willingness to debase and corrupt science for political purposes.
* They had mounted a venomous public campaign of disinformation and denigration of their scientific opponents via a website that they had expensively created.
* Contrary to all the rules of open, verifiable science, the Team had committed the criminal offense of conspiracy to conceal and then to destroy computer codes and data that had been legitimately requested by an external researcher who had very good reason to doubt that their “research” was either honest or competent.

The title says it all, doesn’t it? Or does it? The picture in front of us is one that is comical when you first look at it, but has a deeper meaning when you actually think about it. The picture itself is funny. The background is red, white and blue with stars along the bottom to signify it is a truly American image. Along the top is the quote “Don’t Feed the Animals!” and in the center lays an elephant and donkey eating cash. The fat, depressed elephant stands for the “Grand Ole Party” and the just as fat, ugly donkey for the democrats! It really looks funny makes you laugh and say “Stupid politicians!” But if you really think about it politicians are animals and the two parties have absolutely failed us. They are greedy, lousy, snorting, good-for-nothing pigs.

The two party system has failed us yet the majority of Americans still believe that the democrats and republicans represent them and their individual values. The politicians in Washington have become so incredibly corrupt and so similar that voting for parties results in no change now. The Republicans failed us miserably under President Bush. We got involved in a stupid war, spent billions of dollars, expanded the federal government, and created the largest budget deficits in the history of the country.

So, with everyone fed up with the Republicans and Bush, the country swung hard left looking for the oh-so elusive hope and change that we desired! We elected our savior President Barack Obama. What do we have so far? Well it seems like our president is a pot head on speed. Obama is doing the same things as Bush, just 4 to 5 times faster. In his eleven months he has spent $3.4 Trillion and has expanded the budget deficit from the previous record of around $450 Billion to a whopping $1.45 Trillion. We have more than tripled the annual budget deficit in the past eleven months. Washington D.C. is eating through our wallets and then some. The US federal government is expanding at a rate faster than ever before.

In reality both political parties are the same, they just cause destruction at different rates. Gallup Polls indicate that there are more than twice the number of conservatives in this country than liberals, or “progressives”—yet our politicians sure are following an ultra-“Progressive” route. Conservatives and Moderates are the vast majority of this country, people who believe in the way the government was established, with limited power, and minimal social programs. As we have progressed throughout history our federal government has grown larger and larger and larger into the mammoth we have today, consuming nearly double of what it takes in.

We are in a sinking ship and treading water faster than before, we have presidents and congressmen from both parties to blame for it. They are nearly identical yet act as if they stand for something completely different. They say one thing and do another. They are irresponsible and immoral. The parties have provided us with no choice for smaller government that will live within its means. So what do we need? Well it can be one of two things: a) A third party that is uncorrupted and stands for what the majority of the country stands for, or b) Candidates who return to their roots, from either party and do what they say they stand for. Corruption and nearly identical political parties have failed us, it is time that we got off our butts and get the representation we desire, or better yet, require. It is time to vote for people who represent our values, not parties.

I guess the picture does sum it up; it is time to stop feeding the animals who take advantage of us. The money they consume is ours, and we don’t approve of what they are doing with it. 62% of Americans disapprove of congress, so let’s stop feeding the animals in the picture and let’s start feeding the people through whom we can get some real hope, and some actual change.

The Wall Street Journal has an article up showing more of the truth behind this “Climategate” scandal. Following the money trail they show just how much these scientist’s have received or will be receiving from government grants. This to me shows why they were so adamant that any deniers be shut down so that they could keep riding this gravy train.

the European Commission’s most recent appropriation for climate research comes to nearly $3 billion, and that’s not counting funds from the EU’s member governments. In the U.S., the House intends to spend $1.3 billion on NASA’s climate efforts, $400 million on NOAA’s, and another $300 million for the National Science Foundation. The states also have a piece of the action, with California—apparently not feeling bankrupt enough—devoting $600 million to their own climate initiative. In Australia, alarmists have their own Department of Climate Change at their funding disposal….
And all this is only a fraction of the $94 billion that HSBC Bank estimates has been spent globally this year on what it calls “green stimulus”—largely ethanol and other alternative energy schemes—of the kind from which Al Gore and his partners at Kleiner Perkins hope to profit handsomely…
None of these outfits is per se corrupt, in the sense that the monies they get are spent on something other than their intended purposes. But they depend on an inherently corrupting premise, namely that the hypothesis on which their livelihood depends has in fact been proved. Absent that proof, everything they represent—including the thousands of jobs they provide—vanishes. This is what’s known as a vested interest, and vested interests are an enemy of sound science.

Swiss ban mosque minarets in surprise vote

By ALEXANDER G. HIGGINS, Associated Press Writer – Sun Nov 29, 6:40 pm ET
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091129/ap_on_re_eu/eu_switzerland_minaret_ban
GENEVA – Swiss voters overwhelmingly approved a constitutional ban on minarets on Sunday, barring construction of the iconic mosque towers in a surprise vote that put Switzerland at the forefront of a European backlash against a growing Muslim population.
Muslim groups in Switzerland and abroad condemned the vote as biased and anti-Islamic. Business groups said the decision hurt Switzerland’s international standing and could damage relations with Muslim nations and wealthy investors who bank, travel and shop there.
“The Swiss have failed to give a clear signal for diversity, freedom of religion and human rights,” said Omar Al-Rawi, integration representative of the Islamic Denomination in Austria, which said its reaction was “grief and deep disappointment.”
About 300 people turned out for a spontaneous demonstration on the square outside parliament, holding up signs saying, “That is not my Switzerland,” placing candles in front of a model of a minaret and making another minaret shape out of the candles themselves.
“We’re sorry,” said another sign. A young woman pinned to her jacket a piece of paper saying, “Swiss passport for sale.”
The referendum by the nationalist Swiss People’s Party labeled minarets as symbols of rising Muslim political power that could one day transform Switzerland into an Islamic nation. The initiative was approved 57.5 to 42.5 percent by some 2.67 million voters. Only four of the 26 cantons or states opposed the initiative, granting the double approval that makes it part of the Swiss constitution.
Muslims comprise about 6 percent of Switzerland’s 7.5 million people. Many are refugees from the Yugoslav wars of the 1990s and about one in 10 actively practices their religion, the government says.
The country’s four standing minarets, which won’t be affected by the ban, do not traditionally broadcast the call to prayer outside their own buildings.
The sponsors of the initiative provoked complaints of bias from local officials and human-rights group with campaign posters that showed minarets rising like missiles from the Swiss flag next to a fully veiled woman. Backers said the growing Muslim population was straining the country “because Muslims don’t just practice religion.”
“The minaret is a sign of political power and demand, comparable with whole-body covering by the burqa, tolerance of forced marriage and genital mutilation of girls,” the sponsors said. They said Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan compared mosques to Islam’s military barracks and called “the minarets our bayonets.” [Editor’s note: Najmadin Erbakan, former Prime Minister of Turkey, is on record stating “…we are coming here [to Germany] to take control of your country…”] Erdogan made the comment in citing an Islamic poem many years before he became prime minister.
Anxieties about growing Muslim minorities have rippled across Europe in recent years, leading to legal changes in some countries. There have been French moves to ban the full-length body covering known as the burqa. Some German states have introduced bans on head scarves for Muslim women teaching in public schools. Mosques and minaret construction projects in Sweden, France, Italy, Austria, Greece, Germany and Slovenia have been met by protests.
But the Swiss ban in minarets, sponsored by the country’s largest political party, was one of the most extreme reactions.
“It’s a sad day for freedom of religion,” said Mohammed Shafiq, the chief executive of the Ramadhan Foundation, a British youth organization. “A constitutional amendment that’s targeted towards one religious community is discriminatory and abhorrent.”
He said he was concerned the decision could have reverberations in other European countries.
Amnesty International said the vote violated freedom of religion and would probably be overturned by the Swiss supreme court or the European Court of Human Rights.
The seven-member Cabinet that heads the Swiss government had spoken out strongly against the initiative but the government said it accepted the vote and would impose an immediate ban on minaret construction.
It said that “Muslims in Switzerland are able to practice their religion alone or in community with others, and live according to their beliefs just as before.” It took the unusual step of issuing its press release in Arabic as well as German, French, Italian and English.
Sunday’s results stood in stark contrast to opinion polls, last taken 10 days ago, that showed 37 percent supporting the proposal. Experts said before the vote that they feared Swiss had pretended during the polling that they opposed the ban because they didn’t want to appear intolerant.
“The sponsors of the ban have achieved something everyone wanted to prevent, and that is to influence and change the relations to Muslims and their social integration in a negative way,” said Taner Hatipoglu, president of the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Zurich. “Muslims indeed will not feel safe anymore.”
The People’s Party has campaigned mainly unsuccessfully in previous years against immigrants with campaign posters showing white sheep kicking a black sheep off the Swiss flag and another with brown hands grabbing eagerly for Swiss passports.
Geneva’s main mosque was vandalized Thursday when someone threw a pot of pink paint at the entrance. Earlier this month, a vehicle with a loudspeaker drove through the area imitating a muezzin’s call to prayer, and vandals damaged a mosaic when they threw cobblestones at the building.
_________
Associated Press Writers Shafika Mattar in Amman, Jordan, Eliane Engeler in Basel, Jennifer Quinn in London and Giovanni Fontana in Rome contributed to this report.

Great writer, big politico of the smart conservative variety, smart guy. Here’s his latest blog post about why he’s leaving the traditional conservative movement:

I cannot support a movement that holds that purely religious doctrine should govern civil political decisions and that uses the sacredness of religious faith for the pursuit of worldly power.

And increasingly, I’m not alone.

I cannot support a movement that is deeply homophobic, cynically deploys fear of homosexuals to win votes, and gives off such a racist vibe that its share of the minority vote remains pitiful.

I cannot support a movement which has no real respect for the institutions of government and is prepared to use any tactic and any means to fight political warfare rather than conduct a political conversation.

I cannot support a movement that sees permanent war as compatible with liberal democratic norms and limited government.

I cannot support a movement that criminalizes private behavior in the war on drugs.

I cannot support a movement that would back a vice-presidential candidate manifestly unqualified and duplicitous because of identity politics and electoral cynicism.

I cannot support a movement that regards gay people as threats to their own families.

I cannot support a movement that does not accept evolution as a fact.

I cannot support a movement that sees climate change as a hoax and offers domestic oil exploration as the core plank of an energy policy.

I cannot support a movement that refuses ever to raise taxes, while proposing no meaningful reductions in government spending.

I cannot support a movement that refuses to distance itself from a demagogue like Rush Limbaugh or a nutjob like Glenn Beck.

I cannot support a movement that believes that the United States should be the sole global power, should sustain a permanent war machine to police the entire planet, and sees violence as the core tool for international relations.

Does this make me a “radical leftist” as Michelle Malkin would say? Emphatically not. But it sure disqualifies me from the current American right.

To paraphrase Reagan, I didn’t leave the conservative movement. It left me.

Of course the left has its issues – messy political correctness, interventionism, sometimes even lacking common sense. But he’s 100% right and he said everything I’d want to say to an unaware hard righter. I’m glad someone like Andrew Sullivan can call out the spade on his back.

Wonder what you would find if you frisked Sarah Palin’s new book Going Rogue?

Answer: She’s sold a million copies in only two weeks!

Congratulations Sarah Palin! AP reports:

HarperCollins spokeswoman Tina Andreadis said Tuesday that just two weeks after publication, Sarah Palin’s memoir has sold 1 million copies. The print run for “Going Rogue” has been increased again, to 2.8 million copies. The original printing was 1.5 million, then moved up to 2.5 million.

“Going Rogue” joins a select club of million-selling political memoirs that includes Barack Obama’s “The Audacity of Hope,” Hillary Rodham Clinton’s “Living History” and Bill Clinton’s “My Life.”

She cannot be stopped and it must really upset all those liberals out there!

The best part is that the holiday season is not over yet. Lookout!
