What they are looking for is a rock to lean on, and something consistent that they can count on.  We must be models of Christs consistency to have any hope of winning the lost. You may not think this is true, but how you live your life matters!  It matters not only to God, but to those who are lost as well.

The word “consistently” jumped out at me as I read today’s scripture. Then I read the second scripture and “wisdom” stood out. I thought about how the two go together. I thought about how laziness and procrastination are the opposite of wisdom and consistency.

I was thinking last week, or should I say God reminded me, that I haven’t been very consistent with the devotions. I felt like the Holy Spirit was kind of reminding me that I need to be more focused and determined so that others may hear the word and come to know the Lord better or for the first time. And no, I don’t feel like God minds when I take a break here and there or even when I take a vacation but inconsistently for weeks and months produces nothing. This is why the devil fights so hard to steal our daily devotion time with God. He knows that without consistency, we will not likely possess the fruits of the spirit: patience, peace, love, kindness, etc. I even thought  about Godly wisdom  while thinking on consistency and how it leads us to say no to things we would like to say yes to and at times, yes to the things we would like to say no to.

Consistency in our spiritual walk puts us in alignment with God’s abundant blessings and perfect will that come from continual obedience.  I encourage you this week to look at your life. Are you being consistently wise with the things God has entrusted you with or are you continually procrastinating, being lazy and sporadic (irregular, unpredictable, occasional) . Evaluate your walk with God, your marriage, your family and your job.
