It is in timely fashion that this new blog, “Assertive Citizenry,” is established among the college

It is in timely fashion that this new blog, “Assertive Citizenry,” is established among the college age crowd as a call to arms against the current threats to America’s founding principles. As William F. Buckley is famously quoted, “The best defense against usurpatory government is an assertive citizenry.” This blog is where I intend to assert myself, as I would call on all my fellow freedom-loving patriots to join with me.

As the Obama Administration and Congress spits in the face of our heritage, I can only smile as I see a country full of freedom fighters doing their part as assertive citizens as well. Gathering on Capitol Hill this fall with their “live free or die” flags waving in a cold autumn wind, the 3rd coldest on record to be exact, thousands of Americans are now calling “bullshit” on those whose policies are usurpatory.

One need not look any further than our very own Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, to find a perfect example of the liberal elite spitting in the face of our beloved Constitution. When questioned about the Constitutionality of the current health care bills the matronly Pelosi’s only response was, “are you serious?” Yes Pelosi, the American people are serious about the Constitution.

Now, more than ever, is the time for the American people to assert themselves in the public square. As I sat listening to Representative Mike Pence (R-IN) give his inspirational keynote address in this year’s annual American Spectator dinner, I could only think how perfectly relevant his use of words given by Abraham Lincoln are in our current situation. So as I wrap-up this first post I will leave you with the words of Abraham Lincoln, delivered in his home state of Indiana on his way to be sworn in as President of the United States.

I appeal to you, to constantly bear in mind that it is not with politicians, it is not with presidents, it is not with office seekers, but with you is the question: Shall the union and shall the liberties of the country be preserved? It is your business if the union of these states and the liberties of this people shall be lost, and it is your business to rise up.

Today we celebrate our independence from the oppressive taxation and monetary policy of the United K

Today we celebrate our independence from the oppressive taxation and monetary policy of the United Kingdom. Today the United States government’s monetary policy and taxation is nearly identical to the very reasons our forefathers fought and died to free our country. That is the United States now confiscates approximately 25%-33% of your income. In addition, our currency is issued by a centrally controlled bank. These two things that inspired the very revolution that created our country.

But we don’t care. We blow shit up, drink our beer, and have a merry old time. Because we live in the “greatest country on earth,” the good old USA. Where at least I have my freedom.

But many countries have freedom. Europe is full of people that do not believe they are unduly oppressed. So is Japan. Australians feel pretty good about their way of life.

So what’s so damn special about America anyway?

Well ….we have the most criminal society. A larger percentage of our population is in prison than any other country on earth.

Land of the free indeed.

Well …there is our way of life. The American dream. That if you work hard, stay in school, and stay determined you can earn your way up the socio-economic ladder.

What’s actually true in this world is that 1% of the population controls 90% of the wealth, and the other 99% of us spend our time trying to get our piece of the remaining 10%. The system is systematically stacked against anyone whos lineage is below a certain income bracket. If you don’t start out ahead you have to work 100 times as hard just to give your kids the chance to start out even (you yourself are screwed, but if you work really hard you may be able to give your kids a chance to not be screwed).

The founding fathers believed in a social contract between the government and those governed. That if the government ever failed the governed it was the citizens right, no privilege, to revolt against that government.

No matter how bad our government fails us, we will never revolt. There are two reasons for this: the media and the military.

The United States military is way too well funded and armed to be defeated by any citizens’ militia. No one would ever try. The US could declare martial law, revoke all civil liberties, and basically set fire to constitution, and the sheep that make up this country would roll over and take it.

The other reason this is true is because of the media. Not just the news networks. The entertainment as well. As long as most people have enough prosperity to eat, sit at home, and watch TV there will never be a revolution in this country. Never.

Does there need to be one? That’s debatable. I don’t know the answer.

But I know this: the spirit of the constitution and the bill of rights is in a coma. It is NOT alive and well in our society today.

WASHINGTON – Barack Obama is conducting his own affirmative action program to get more Muslims in the White House.(Unbelievable!)

The move began with Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn, who took his oath of office with a hand on the Quran, to solicit the resume of what he considered to be the nation’s most qualified adherents of Islam.

According to the Denver Post, when White House officials heard about the program, it was put on overdrive.

So far, 45 Ivy League grads, Fortune 500 executives and government officials have been submitted for consideration.

J. Saleh Williams, program coordinator for the Congressional Muslim Staffers Association, sifted through more than 300 names as part of the search.

“It was mostly under the radar,” Williams said. “We thought it would put (the president) in a precarious position. We didn’t know how closely he wanted to appear to be working with the Muslim American community.”

Ellison is serious about his faith. He made the pilgrimage to Mecca with the sponsorship of the Muslim American Society, an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood.

In 1991, Mohamed Akram wrote a memo for the leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood that explained its work in America as “a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ’sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

The word “all” means this world. The Constitution of the United State of America is an inspired document forged by men who lived life to the fullest and learned from their experiences.

They passed on to a nation a document that reflects this wisdom. A document that served as the foundation for the greatest nation in the modern world.

In order to retain this status, the document must be adhered to.

In this day of “easy come easy go” the Constitution is often trampled for many reasons by many people.

When the words within the foundation are treated with contempt and ignored, the house that is built on it will crumble.

Would the Constitution pass today in Congress and be signed by the President without thousands of pages of exemptions or additions?

I doubt it.

Great and noble thoughts as presented in this Constitution never become obsolete as it refers to people and human nature and outlines the best possible way of governance thereof.

The ignorant do not understand or realize it. And “it” protects the ignorant as well.

America, it is time to go back to the roots. The spirit and thought behind the Constitution deserves to live and not die under the oppression called evil.

Story appeared in CALIFORNIA FORUM section, Page

California’s Constitution starts with the declaration that “all people are by nature free and independent and have inalienable rights.”

It goes downhill from there.

Spanning 157 pages, the state constitution delves into such topics as permits for gill nets, licensing of alcoholic beverages and the hiring of private architects. By the time it gets to the final article that, among other things, bans the cloning of human beings, the constitution resembles a giant kielbasa stuffed with years of special-interest ballot amendments.

Serious consideration is now being given to scrapping this constitutional sausage, or at least seriously revamping it. Even before lawmakers and the governor produced the Budget Calamity of 2008, a San Francisco-based business group was advocating the creation of a constitutional convention that could help enact reforms to the budget process and general governance.

“Drastic times call for drastic measures,” wrote Jim Wunderman, head of the Bay Area Council, in an Aug. 21 column in the San Francisco Chronicle that kicked off the debate. “It is our duty to declare that our California government is not only broken, it is destructive to our future.”

Since penning his column, Wunderman and the Bay Area Council, which represents the CEOs of Google, Yahoo, Chevron and other Bay Area businesses, say they’ve been flooded with responses from concerned citizens. Many people sense that traditional routes of reform – going to the voters with single-topic ballot propositions – will only place Band-Aids on a government that produces late budgets and fiscal mismanagement. Stronger medicine is needed.

You really need to be creative when thinking about public domain works. If you want to create a prod

You really need to be creative when thinking about public domain works. If you want to create a product from public domain materials, you really need to let your mind wonder. Think outside the box!

Sometimes you can combine one, two, three or more different types of public domain works. I mean you might consider combining a public domain book and public domain movie. Keep in mind your audience or target market and what your ultimate goal will be.

Here’s a quick idea.

Take an except from the Constitution of the United States….you do realize this document is in the public domain don’t you …..no need to do any public domain research so far. Anyway, maybe you want to sell reprints or want to specifically target one aspect of the constitution and talk about it’s meaning.

Now maybe you want to advertise your product with a movie….lets go to YouTube. Look what I found, “Barney Fife and the Preamble of the Constitution.

I believe The Andy Griffith Show is in the public domain, you might want to check on this first. A good resource is The Public Domain Code Book.

Combining an old show like The Andy Griffith Show with the Constitution would definitely appeal to a specific audience

Just a though, I ran across the movie a couple of days ago and thought about how I might use it, sometimes the ideas you come up with are worth a goldmine….sometimes, well….they just need to be filed!

January 28, 2008 When I started this campaign more than a year ago, I was a somewhat reluctant candi

January 28, 2008

When I started this campaign more than a year ago, I was a somewhat reluctant candidate. I knew our message of freedom, peace, and prosperity was the right one for our country, but frankly, I didn’t know how many people today would have ears to hear it.
Well, did I learn a lesson! Millions of Americans understand what ails our country, and what is needed to fix it. So, with you at my side, I am in this effort to win. Not only by building the ideas of liberty, but by getting the nomination. Our opponents would call that nuts — you know, the advocates of more inflation, more spending, more taxes, more war. But let me explain why they are, as usual, all wet.
For one thing, for the first time since 1952, we are headed towards a brokered convention. Instead of a coronation of one of the establishment candidates, the delegates, influenced by the people, will decide. And I am afraid that this will take place in a time of heightened economic crisis. That means even more Americans will be ready to hear our message. But it also means I am really going to need your help.
One would never know this from the mainstream media, but we’ve only had a few primaries and caucuses, and even after the extremely important date of February 5th, we will still have more than half to go. And the Republican nominee will not be decided by the popular vote among the “leading candidates” in a few states also handpicked by the media. The nominee will be decided by the delegates. So let me tell you a little about our “under-the-radar” strategy to get those delegates.
On “Super Tuesday,” February 5th, there will be 22 primaries and caucuses. I have a hunch that we’re going to do very well. But, of course, the media and the rest of the establishment refuse to recognize that. It’s the attitude of the small child who covers his eyes to make something scary go away. But we are not going away.
While the media focus on the couple of states they claim are important, we’re competing everywhere. And the reason that we’re able to do that is because of your grassroots support. You all are an asset that no other campaign has: donors, and activists who want no special deals from the government, just the Constitution.
We’re competing very strongly in all the caucus states, and in all other states where delegates are up for grabs. And we’re going to keep picking up delegates. Our strategy’s already working.
And we’re committed to winning states. I have little doubt that if we can double our efforts in this coming week, we’re going to grab many delegates from other candidates. Then we’ll start getting ready for the biggest moment of all – the convention in September.
The path to the convention is twisty, however. When we were in Iowa, we got 10% of the vote. But no delegates were awarded that night. That’s because voters didn’t directly choose national convention delegates; they selected the county and state delegates who will make that decision. And if another candidate like Mike Huckabee is no longer in the race at the time of the state convention in June, his delegates are free to support whomever they want. If we work extra hard, we can convert them into delegates for our campaign!
A similar thing happened in Nevada. We won 14% of the straw poll vote that the media reported on, but what they didn’t tell you was that we may have gotten up to a third of Nevada’s delegates to their county conventions! I always laughed when I heard some people say Nevada didn’t matter. Nevada chooses more delegates to the national convention than South Carolina.
So, while the media will focus on the results from Florida, and probably take down the campaign of my friend Rudy in the process, those results are less important to you and me. Let them fight in Florida while we bring our message to Americans in other areas, like the economically hard-hit state of Maine.
We want to win as many delegates to the Republican National Convention as possible, even if other campaigns don’t see some areas of the country as “important. But in this work, I need your help. Help me get many, many delegates to this historic convention, by these three methods.

1. Donate. Your generous contributions are essential if we’re going to keep going until September. We need, frankly $5 million by February 5 to run more TV and radio ads in the Super Tuesday states. Your help means everything: https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate.

2. Canvass. You can help us identify those who support our message in your precinct. You can help us to convert others, too. After all, your neighbors pay attention to you. I am going to visit as much of the country as I can, but I need you as my partner in your area: https://voters.ronpaul2008.com.

3. ASK others to sign-up on our website. I meet so many people on the campaign trail who don’t even receive my letters! I’ve told my campaign to make communication with you, the engine of all this, much better. But if people don’t sign up for my e-mails, that won’t happen. If you could just get one extra person to sign-up, that would be great. More would be tremendous.

We’ve come so far, but now the fun is really starting! I have a feeling the mainstream media will move from ignoring us to attacking us. But that will be a sign of our success. Join me as we continue this great movement into year two, and to a hot convention in Minneapolis-Saint Paul. We can do it!
Sincerely,
Ron
