Mammograms – or the lack of them – are all the buzz right now.

They are serving as warning shots of the massive health care rationing to come if the Democrat health plan becomes law.

The former head of the National Institute of Health says that women should very forcefully ignore the recommendations of the Obama administration’s U.S. Preventative Services Task Force:

WASHINGTON, Nov. 22 (UPI) — The former head of the U.S. National Institutes of Health says American women should ignore the mammogram recommendations of a government breast cancer panel.

Speaking on “Fox News Sunday,” former NIH chief Dr. Bernadine Healy, now health editor for the magazine U.S. News & World Report, said she disagreed with the assessment of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, a 16-member panel assembled by Department of Health and Human Services. The group this month recommended women under 50 forgo routine breast cancer tests and instead get mammograms individually in consultation with their doctors.

Asked if women should ignore the panel, Healy said, “Oh, I’m saying very powerfully ignore them, because unequivocally — and they agreed with this — this will increase the number of women dying of breast cancer.”

But as it turns out, neither women nor anyone else can ignore these recommendations.

Rationing via “death panel” is coming home to roost, to paraphrase Jeremiah Wright.

Sunday morning, on ABC’s “This Week,” with George Stephanopoulos, we saw how a fairly harmless sounding paragraph in a bill can have massive consequences on real people.

George Stephanaopoulos and Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn – when they were actually get a word in edgewise over Democrat Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s constant grandstanding – underscored that the country will find itself facing rationed health care:

BLACKBURN: And, George, this is exactly how it happens. If you go to page 1,296 of the House bill, the engrossed copy, and you began to read in title three of that bill, on preventive and wellness services, and you get down to section 2301, this is what happens. In section 3131 of that bill, it changes the Preventive Services Task Force to the Clinical Preventive Services Task Force.

Then, you go back and you see that that task force on preventive clinical services is tasked with rating A, B, C, D, or I all preventive services. Then you go back into section 222 of the bill…

(CROSSTALK)

BLACKBURN: Yes, I have read this bill. And it indicates what would be paid or covered. And this is where the actual link comes, and I’ll read it for you. In section 2301, it says, “All recommendations of the Preventive Services Task Force” — that’s the group that did the mammograms — “and the Task Force on Community Preventive Services, as in existence on the day before the date of the enactment of this act, shall be considered to be recommendations of the Task Force on Clinical Preventive Services.”

STEPHANOPOULOS: So the guidelines — the point is that the guidelines then…

BLACKBURN: They become the law.

STEPHANOPOULOS: … would — would become…

BLACKBURN: They become the law, the mandate.

STEPHANOPOULOS: … would become controlling.

WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: No, they would not be.

BLACKBURN: Yes, they do.

WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: And what’s unfortunate is that the Republicans, and Ms. Blackburn, have for the first time politicized breast cancer.

BLACKBURN: That is incorrect.

WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: That is — no, it is not. And I’m a breast cancer…

BLACKBURN: No, it is incorrect.

WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: As you know, as a breast cancer survivor, Marsha…

BLACKBURN: That is incorrect. It’s in the bill, Debbie.

WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: Excuse me.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Let her finish her point.

BLACKBURN: I have a great respect — yes.

WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: As a breast cancer survivor, I came out against these — these recommendations. Every major cancer organization has come out against these recommendations. The task force language in that bill actually makes sure that prevention — preventive services like mammograms and colonoscopies and other cancer screenings would be free. The task force recommendations — the language in the bill…

(CROSSTALK)

STEPHANOPOULOS: Well, Debbie, let me — let me clarify this…

(CROSSTALK)

WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: … that even more women would get access to…

(CROSSTALK)

STEPHANOPOULOS: Excuse me for a second. That — that is true. But let me clarify a little bit, because under the — the bill — and we have — we have the language, as well. It says that a group health plan and health insurance issuer offering the group (ph) shall provide coverage, but only under — if the Preventive Services Task Force rates it as an A or B.

BLACKBURN: That’s right.

STEPHANOPOULOS: And, actually, under the — under the task force, they said that these mammograms for women 40 to 50 is rated C. So they actually wouldn’t be covered. So you have a great expansion for a broad part of the population, but actually, these guidelines would be controlling for ages 40 or 50.

With all due respects to Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s inability to face reality, ABC News’ Chief Washington Correspondent and former Clinton administration Communications Director George Stephanopoulos and Rep. Marsha Blackburn are right: under this bill, when a government panel recommends that care be rationed, that care gets rationed.

And you’d better face up to that reality.

And if government rationing isn’t bad enough, there is also the fact that this takeover of the private health care system will also result in higher premiums, according to the CBO. You will pay more and get less.

You’d better face up to that reality, too.

You’d also better face up to the reality that once this bill gets online, it will cost at least $2.5 trillion every ten years – and very likely ten times that figure if history is any guide.

Democrats argue that we should pass this bill to “get something done,” and then come back and fix it later. But this bill is beyond dreadful. The Dean of the Harvard School of Medicine gave it a flunking grade, and The Wall Street Journal called it “The Worst Bill Ever.” The Democrats’ plan is beyond bad; it is evil. We can surely start with something better than this.

This bill WILL lead to a government takeover via a public option (whether it is present in the bill or presented as a ‘trigger’ to happen later), and it will CERTAINLY lead to rationed care along with a shortage of doctors to provide medical services.

It is human nature to avoid dealing with unpleasant realities. And the Democrats’ attempt to take over health care is the epitome of an unpleasant reality. If it passes, it will be too late; and voting Democrats out of office in retaliation will be way too little, way too late. The American people must either rise up and scream this monstrosity down, or it will very likely become the law of the land.

Valves are closing holes and take-offs and regulating devices liquids flowing through different wires and gasses. Amongst valves available on the market it is possible to distinguish types of, dividing, functional and steering ballcocks. Ballcocks are made of brass, plastics and rustless steel. Among them collar valves are being singled out, plumbing, with the electric or air drive. Additionally accessories are also available to these valves. For example they can be applied in the form of stopcocks in all sorts networks and installations about high parameters. They are most often used at flows of hot oil valves is relatively straight, similarly to the installation of different drives and controlling them. Different types of separating valves can be steered electromagnetically, air or mechanically. Steering valves are divided to choking, chokingly manoeuvrable, manoeuvrable and valves of the fast trigger. They are appearing among functional valves temporary, logical, alloy as well as steering blocks two-handed. Solenoid valves and solenoid valves are in a next group of YPC valves. They belong to them e.g. electromagnetic directly started, having elastic, economic, compact sealing the slider. There are also plates to solenoid valves, the plate assembly to valves. There are valves amongst safety valves . Brass and applied for regulations flowing through wires of such gasses as compressed air, non-toxic and non-inflammable gasses are made. Using valves of this type allows for safe dropping the excess of gasses to the atmosphere. However it isn’t possible to apply these valves in the case of liquid substances and steam.

Thankfully, I have something to momentarily distract me from the stress caused by my parents’

Thankfully, I have something to momentarily distract me from the stress caused by my parents’ hysteria. My brother is no longer with Voldemort. I should be clear that, though I was concerned by what I’d heard about her actions (which all spoke of her being manipulative, possessive, demanding) and didn’t care for the vibes I got from her photos (that she was a drunk, conniving dragon lady), Frank reasonably pointed out that she was the only kind of partner my brother could expect and, in fact, wanted in his current state of insecurity, thrill-seeking, alcoholism, and general poor judgment. So I’d come to see their being together (and marrying before her work visa expired) as inevitable and really what my mother deserved, as Voldemort was, in fact, eerily like my mother in terms of her being conniving to get her way.

What surprised me, but shouldn’t, was that it was Voldemort who broke up with my brother–all because of this supposedly stupid question. I don’t know the details of the situation that led to the split, but have only this cryptic scenario to puzzle over: She asked him a “stupid question. Her friends told her it was a stupid question (well, the friends not trying to sleep with her at least), and she admits that it’s a stupid question. She also admits that [he] gave a stupid answer, and [he] tend[s] to agree. It’s one of those Catch 22 questions to which there’s no answer that makes both parties satisfied. [He] answered it the way [he] knew [he] had to, to be true to [himself] and not lie, but she would have preferred the lie. Okay, preferred isn’t too strong of a term obviously, since she broke up with [him] because of how [he] answered that question.”

The question remains, what was the question? Obviously., it couldn’t actually have been a stupid question if it made her realize he wasn’t worth putting her hopes on. My brother believes people tended to underestimate her wisdom and insight, but really I never did. In fact, she was much too crafty for me to underestimate her in any way. Like my mother, she’s a survivor and has street smarts, if not quite the ability to pull off a convincing fake smile. If anything, it was her acting so clearly as puppet master that initially frightened me (and I’m as afraid of marionettes and those who operate them as I am of clowns).

Why are you afraid of me?

Also, people don’t break up because of stupid questions or answers. It’s simply these differences that reveal deeper rifts in a relationship or are the last straw in what has been an ongoing struggle of personalities. No, you didn’t divorce over his not buying sour cream. No, he didn’t break up with you because you didn’t straighten your towel after your shower. Don’t be foolish.

So what question could (1) be perceived as stupid by yourself and others, (2) be answered in an acceptable manner only by those trying to sleep with you, (3) and couldn’t be answered favorably by a significant other telling the truth, (4) the truth coming off to both parties as a stupid answer (5) but still leading you to give up hope on someone already in love with you, whom you’d believed would enable you to attain a green card?

One option in the list of stupid questions to ask a partner is, Do you think I should lose weight? But this doesn’t meet criteria 2 or 5, as even someone who didn’t just want to sleep with you would be sensitive about your feelings to answer no and their telling the truth (if you really did need to lose weight) wouldn’t make you give up on them.

Another option would be to ask a hypothetical question like, Would it matter to you if I didn’t want to have children? In this case, guys who only wanted to sleep with her would say no, it doesn’t matter (in fact, it’d be the last thing they wanted), whereas someone who cared about her would say yes, it did matter (i.e. I do want to have kids). But this, even if only hypothetical, doesn’t qualify as a foolish question at all, nor would answering honestly result in what could be regarded a stupid answer.

What about, Does it really matter to you what your mother thinks of me? This one, a guy who simply wanted to sleep with you would answer of course not (criteria 2). And I know that, if my brother were to answer this question truthfully, his answer would be yes, it does matter (crieria 3). This he could admit to himself would be a stupid answer, since why should it matter if you’re in love? (criteria 4) And this would be enough for her to give up hope that he would marry her (criteria 5). But I’m not sure it meets criteria 1 in qualifying as a stupid question.

So what was the question? What was the answer? And why do you never put your towel back properly after you shower?

Introduction

As part of my healing, and at the request of a therapist and a support group, I have endeavored to write this account, as many people do who are journeying this particular road. Only the highlights have been included – those that best portray the issues.

Far more has been written about the Male Narcissist than the Female Narcissist. I often see statements that claim 75% of narcissists are men. I don’t agree with that – not in our present society. Those of us studying the subject — and experts on the subject no doubt realize — that there are more Female Narcissists than ever before. In fact, I believe that the current numbers are staggering, especially amongst America’s youth and young adults.

I’ve had a few Female Narcissists in my life. They are intrinsic; my mother, my high-school “best friend” G and my adult “best friend” H whom I met 32-1/2 years ago. There were other minor female Narcissists in my life who fortunately passed through pretty quickly but not without wreaking some serious havoc.

There have also been a fair number of Male Narcissists in my life. I am not sure whether he is a Narcissist, but my ex-husband was very abusive and stubborn and once stated to me “I don’t care about your happiness”. As far as I can see, he had many Narcissistic Traits. That’s another story I may or may not write about. It would be difficult to tell it without revealing easily identifiable information about the parties involved, and I don’t think that would be appropriate. If I can find a way to tell the story in a manner that protects the privacy of others, I’ll write it.

My first post – written in 11 parts – describes my former friendship with H. It skips ahead of my relationship with my mother D, and the former high school “best friend” G. I plan to write about them. For now though, H has been at the forefront of my mind these past several days. Our birthdays – five days apart – were 2-1/2 weeks ago. After a few months of No Contact, H sent me an electronic birthday card, though I had ignored her birthday a few days prior.

************

For the past six years, I have been winding out of my challenging, complicated, decades-long friendship with H. I would not be so presumptuous as to diagnose H with full-on (Narcissistic Personality Disorder “NPD”), though that might well be true. That is for a qualified psychologist to evaluate and diagnose, which will probably never happen given how adept those with Narcissistic traits are at avoiding therapy or convincing an ineffective therapist that there is nothing wrong with them. It will probably never happen in this case, given how invested H is in holding on to her construct for dear life. For that is what Narcissists do — hold on to their inner madness for dear life.

What a painful existence it must be. And the pain they cause others is just as bad — in a different way.

All through three decades I have known that H is a control freak and a tightly controlled person due to childhood trauma in a privileged family, but I had never considered the idea that the fundamental problem might be the many Traits of Narcissism resulting from her early Narcissistic Wound(s). Until recently, I had always given H the benefit of the doubt. Finally, I realized that I could no longer afford to cut H such amazing slack. I sensed that if I continued to do so, it was ultimately going to do me in – in a very big way. My life was already in serious trouble, and I didn’t need any more chaos and destruction.

Since going No Contact with H during the past year, my life has been less chaotic. It is more peaceful, less driven, more focused. I dare say my life is slowly resurrecting. Sometimes I do not quite believe it but I know it’s true, and I know that I must keep believing it. My very survival depends upon it. In addition, I am no longer afraid — well, for the most part!

I met C, a wonderful online friend, several months ago. After we initially got to know one another, C mentioned her Narcissist mother and that she had finally gone No Contact with her after a lifetime of struggle. I began to realize that my mother has many of the same traits and behaviors that C’s mother has.

Soon I started considering asking my friend C her opinion about my former friend H. I finally did write it out, and sent it with some trepidation. (I was still shell-shocked by a group of cyberpaths 2-3 years ago.)

Because of my story, C not only helped me to realize that H may have a mild form of NPD, but that my mother is probably a Narcissist as well.

C’s mother is a Malignant Narcissist. Malignant Narcissism is different in that it contains elements of sadism. C suffered greatly — both physically and mentally — at the hands of her mother, starting in the womb (a botched self-abortion). C has been studying NPD (“Narcissistic Personality Disorder”) for the past 10 years. She steered me toward some websites and discussion boards where one can read about the characteristics of Narcissism, how to deal with a Narcissist, and how to disengage.

Some sites are much better than others. One does have to use critical thinking with some of these sites. “Buyer” beware. I would especially beware of sites that claim Narcissism can be healed or that Narcissists can become more “normal”.

So I finally began my journey away from Narcissistic relationships in my life.

I recognized a lot of Narcissistic Traits in H and my mother too. I started learning how to disengage, why I had to disengage, and how to heal. While doing all that reading, I had to face the fact that I have actually drawn many Narcissists into my life. Worse, I allowed them to stay. I was even addicted to them staying. I have begun the journey to understanding why. Writing this blog is the second stage of that process.

I am very grateful to C. She took the time to nail me to the wall about H. As mentioned, she made me face not only that H probably has NPD (or at least is a person with many traits), but that my mother probably has NPD as well. Indeed, the relationship with my mother is probably how I fell into the friendship with H, and it is probably why I married my ex-husband and why I have allowed so many other Narcissists into my life.

The fact that I never engaged in therapy as a child — something my parents knew I sorely needed — was also a huge factor. (I have a birth defect from my father’s side that causes me severe health problems and social/employment issues. All of my vital organs are reversed. It is called “dextrocardia, situs inversus totalis” which causes “Primary Ciliary Dyskinesis” (“PCD”) and leads to “Kartagener’s Syndrome”. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.)

Therefore, when I entered high school I had already been well-bullied and ostracized in elementary school and I had become the Family Scapegoat (thanks to my mother’s childhood Narcissistic Wound). I became “best friends” with G. My parents hated her. They both saw right through G. I was her little minion. She was always thinner, better at cheerleading jumps, had more boyfriends and boys liking her, had thicker prettier hair, could grow it longer… there was no end to her superiority over me. When I confided in G that I had a crush on a cute popular basketball player – a Big Man On Campus as we used to say, she told people and it got back to him. She made sure I knew he had made a face. I was hurt and humiliated. When our cheerleader shorts arrived from the seamstress, G told me to hold mine up next to hers. A satisfied little smile came over her face. Hers were smaller. Not by much, but enough to make a difference to her. At the time, I thought she was strange. I didn’t know then that it was a destructive non-friendship. I didn’t know then that I was mostly just Narcissistic Supply for H, and not much else.

It is no easy task to face that you are a VoNPD (“Victim of Narcissistic Personality Disorder”), or that you are an Invert Narcissist providing Narcissistic Supply to a Narcissist. First, you are usually both Victim and Invert. Invert Narcissism is also sometimes referred to as Codependency. As I understand it, at the very least it goes hand in hand with Codependency. You have to recognize that you are not only a victim, but that you demonstrate many qualities of Narcissism while locked into the N relationship.

My mother survived childhood trauma, and probably incest (father). She has never discussed it. To this day, at the age of 86, my mother still exhibits many Narcissistic Traits. She can be a very difficult person to deal with, and has been all my life. One of her worst traumas took place at age 14, therefore it is no surprise that when I reached age 14 things turned ugly in my household. Thereafter, I was a perfect target for someone like the high school “best friend” G, and H who I met several years later in a spiritual community in the Bay Area of San Francisco.

My mother was very conflicted about me. First, she did love me. She was very upset about my health problems, and tried in vain for many years to cure it until I put a stop to it (severely painful allergy scratch tests covering my back). Many times I felt that love, and I still do even sometimes to this day. Second, no doctor or specialist had ever told her that my birth defect could not be cured. They never made her understand that my health could only be managed, not cured. She kept refusing to face that nothing was working, and I suffered greatly at the hands of many doctors and their theories and experiments on me. Some of them were ridiculously primitive. Of course, none of it ever worked.

Third, she projected her childhood trauma onto me and saw me as her own mother. When I was an adult, she once told me I was her mother reincarnated to haunt and harass her. The Family Scapegoat abuse started when I was about 8 or 9, and escalated when I was 14, the age she had been when “the church people” confronted my grandmother about my grandfather and my mother sleeping in the same bed. That is when the main Narcissistic wound took place, along with probably having slept with her father in the same bed for X number of years; how many I’ll probably never know.

It takes a lot of courage to understand what the many traits of Narcissism are, how they manifest, and that you have become entangled in them. It takes a lot of courage to disengage, which is always necessary. Last but not least, you still have the task of becoming increasingly healthy after disengaging. And you must prevent a Narcissist from ever entering your life again. That is a tall order. It is certainly do-able though.

Please go to Part 2: The Meeting

Fontos szerepet játszott ez a folyamat a termelékenység növekedésében, és hatással van a munka és a magánélet viszonyára is – derül ki a Kelly által készített legfrissebb Kelly Global Workforce Index felmérésből.

Régóta készítünk kutatásokat világszerte, amelyekben sok, a munka világával kapcsolatos kérdésre keressük a választ.

For those that know what they want and need.

1. Writing the List

List down every item you plan on purchasing. Absolutely everything. Here is an example of my own:

Paint brushes

Oil paints

Clam lights for short films and photography

A nice camera (top end digital camera or a good beginners SLR)

Red shoes

Black shoes

Green vintage inspired flats from Joanne Mercer.

Shorts

White tops

Hand exfoliate

Ballet shoes

Pretty fabrics for dresses

Italian Vogue (I can’t read it but the clothes are lovely)

Cleanser and Moisturizer and Exfoliate from ‘Simple’

Your list is probably as long as mine or even worse. Hey, if you shopaholics had all the money in the world, you would buy everything you see, right? Even Michael Jackson couldn’t control his spending. God rest his soul.

Circle the items that you must need immediately and why!

Fabrics (I need to create my Halloween costume)

Red shoes (Halloween)

Green vintage or black flats (half off when you buy one pair of red shoes)

Ballet shoes (My ballet teacher wont like it if I don’t start dancing in proper footwear than in socks or bare feat.)

Reasons that are not acceptable:

Paint brushes (I want to strive towards my goal) – I already have a few paint brushes that I can use for now. Those can wait.

Italian Vogue (It’s going to run out!) – It wont run out. Not everybody reads Italian magazine or buys it for the images. If it does run out, there will be a new issue, which is even better.

White tops (They will go nicely with the new skirts I bought) – It’s not that hot. You can wait.

Does the total cost of the items you need immediately fall under your budget?

I assume so, unless the Ballet shoes are rediculously expensive. If they are . . . mother, will you buy me my Ballet shoes, pretty please?

Are you happy with your list?

Yes. Very.

Now create a list for next week. If your current list exceeds your budget, you should make yourself not buy anything for a week. Instead the second list you create should be for the week after.

I write up shopping list all the time. I don’t follow it strictly, it’s just a guide, so relax. A shopping list is not for you to rush out and purchase right away, take your time with it because a lot of the time you’ll be scratching off items off the list because you don’t want them anymore. I find this method helpful when I get a headache just thinking about all the things that I want. This brings me back to earth. I hope this helps you too.

Once a week I dip into Confused of Calcutta for an organized yet unassuming take on the development

Once a week I dip into Confused of Calcutta for an organized yet unassuming take on the development of management.

This week has a far reaching post summarizing changes that are taking place in enterprises seen through the lens of an IT manager.

I’ve spent much of the last two years trying to figure out what the future corporation will look like. I teach management. So I want to be about 10 years ahead of events to prepare 18 yr olds for their jobs they will find themselves.

This is my thinking so far.

The coordinating role of management will stay

I don’t think management will change very much, at least in so far as it is an act of coordination.

Management provides information linking one part of an enterprise to another. The localized modules of future enterprises will still need people who let them know where they are relative to each other.

Planning and control will become more sophisticated

What will change is the idea that direction comes from the apex and filters down. There is little chance that one person can understand all parts of the enterprise in this day-and-age. Managers and CEO’s will need the ability to chair discussions about interlinks. It wouldn’t be wise to make unilateral decisions. Any organization that lets them is unlikely to last long.

The control part of ploc will also revert to its proper meaning of feedback – show people where their work fits into the whole.

Future management will be boosted by IT

I see two types of work within management as taking off.

# 1 Collecting data, sorting it and presenting it a la Flowing Data.

I include real-time search here.

# 2 Figuring out the questions to be asked in the analysis.

There will still be room for people who specialize in how the parts interlink. Knowing the questions to ask, and revising the questions, will remain an important specialist function.

Managing will remain managing

And then there will be the traditional role of managing. Are we able to get together a group of people who believe in each other enough to work on a project from beginning to end?

Can we conceptualize the project?

Can we reshape the project as we go?

Can we keep the stakeholders together long enough to do it?

There will always be a role for people who get on with it. It is just, they are unlikely to be any more important than other players. They are simply doing an essential task the way other people do an essential task. While others will provide expertise, they’ll provide real-time communication, feedback filtered through the right questions delivered at a time when people can act on it, and continual questioning of whether we are going in the right direction at the right pace in the right company.

Permission management is here to stay.

If you want to lose weight can help, then cycling. You can not expect, cycling, once you make leaner

If you want to lose weight can help, then cycling. You can not expect, cycling, once you make leaner, but it can definitely contribute to weight control: an hour a bike at a good pace will burn 450 to 550 calories . Of course, not everyone can say, especially when at the beginning, a constant high speed when riding a bicycle – but whatever pace you do on the cycle, it is definitely better for you than sitting in a car! Another thing to rememberMind is that cycling is an easy way to the kind of regular exercise, (which by most diet programs are recommended and received) by most doctors for that matter.

Governments and health professionals recommend that education should aim to get 30-minute exercise about five times per week. If you) to cycle to work, and (every day or up to the station would be that the target for you? This goal does not seem so unattainable when you think about this: 15 minutesEach time you to work every day.

Of course, no matter how much you start to exercise, it is never a good idea to overdo it: If your fitness level is not very high to begin with, you need to build up gradually. For example, you can start from the wheel only once a week, or maybe cycling to work one day and ride home from work the next day and then gradually over time increase in the amount of cycling that you can do.

I swear, the library in my three previous years of high school had never been this bad. In fact, it

I swear, the library in my three previous years of high school had never been this bad. In fact, it was actually a fun place to go and hang out sometimes. This year, all that has changed. I actually get mad when I set foot in there. All I have to say, and I think this covers it pretty well, the new librarian is a bitch. I just wished that it would stop there, but it doesn’t.

Just today, and there have been other past stupid, dumb experiences in the past such as this one, I was logging onto a computer. I used my ID and password like the new system requires, but for some reason this random lady came to me and was convinced that I was using the general school log-in. I think it took her a good few minutes to shut-up and let me explain that I had actually logged in with my ID and password. This wasn’t what really bothered me.

I had overheard the librarian telling a new person working in the library that they aren’t allowed to go on email and etc… I didn’t pay much attention, I wasn’t doing anything wrong. Just checking the morning’s stock quotes and to see how I was doing. The next thing I know is that same newbie is staring at me, and then my friend Omair right beside me confirms that she is full-on staring at me without blinking and what not. You know, if you have common sense, I would say it’s really hard to intimidate a person who has there back turned toward you, doesn’t know you exist, and lastly isn’t doing anything wrong! Regardless, in the next few minutes, the same lady who thought I had logged in wrong came over and started saying, “You know guys you aren’t allowed to write emails, surf the internet–

I cut her off right there. Honestly I was like WTF times infinity in my head. Someone thought I was writing emails, surfing the internet while checking stocks?!?! It’s a fucking economics project, and something I’m doing on my own at home as well.

I pretty much just left after that. I have really begun to hate the library and its workers if you can’t tell. They should realize its not a fucking military camp; that we the students, are not prisoners of war and do not need to be watched like animals — all the websites are practically blocked on there anyway. What’s the worse that we can do??

Give us a little freedom, let us whisper just a little without shushing us for obstructing your god damn silence.
