Heimatfilm starring Sascha Hehn
-Year: 1959
-Year in film: 1950s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: Peterle ~5 yo, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: older boys, Lederhosen
-Available on DVD: VHS only ?
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating: 4/10
-Rating: ****
-Comment: Some boys, including 4 or 5 yo Sascha Hehn (pictured as Peterle, “Das Mädel aus dem Böhmerwald” (1965, rating 8)) in longer buckskin Lederhosen, some with suspenders). Very few scenes, in fact only this rather short fighting scene. Also Hehn (I think) and at least one older boy ~12 yo in good jeans near horses.

Also starring Willy Fritsch, Angelika Meissner (Immenhof series, Witwer mit 5 Töchtern) and Wolf-Albach Retty. The Heimatfilm itself is also nothing special.

Rating 3-4 due to the very few good scenes and the young age of Hehn. I haven’t found any clips and only a VHS release.

Heimatfilm starring Rudolf Lenz, aka Echo der Berge
-Year: 1954
-Year in film: 1950s
-Country: Austria, Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~7-13 yo, men, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: altar boys
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: low *
-Rating: 6/10
-Rating: ******
-Comment: One older boy (called Steffel or Steffl), maybe teen boy in buckskin (with patina) brown Lederhosen, pictured on top, also a very good scene hanging at a mountain showing close up of his bottom, then 2 boys, therof one teen boy in longer (non leather) pants and a young blond boy with a Tyrolean hat and longer buckskin Lederhosen with suspenders (2nd pic, also good headshot), some background boys (3rd pic at a car, both in different buckskin Lederhosen with suspenders (showing this backside scene only, first hunking down in front of the car). Last pic showing some boys singing near the beginning, at least one younger boy with suspenders but looks like cotton pants and a jacket. At the very end, 2 young altar boys in white gown, red collars. And of course men in Lederhosen/traditional alpine clothing, I think mainly or only longer Lederhosen. Some other background boys but nothing much of interest.

How could I miss this very famous Heimatfilm? I even have seen it before, but obviously missed these scenes. Maybe I have seen it at high speed or left the room.

Also starring Albert Rueprecht, Anita Gutwell and Hermann Erhardt. Directed by Alfons Stummer.

Typical and good early Heimatfilm with typical landscape scenes, some dramatic and some romantic scenes and some alpine hunting scenes. Sadly only rather few and short good scenes of young actors in Lederhosen. See also the sequel “Der Wilderer vom Silberwald” (starring Harry Kratz, also rating 6, but I prefer that).

Although few scenes, rating 6.

Drama starring Werner Asam
-Year: 1991
-Year in film: ~1918
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: altar boys ~9-11 yo
-Who in clothing 2: hist. clothing
-Available on DVD: no
-I own: yes, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurence: low *
-Rating: 4/10
-Rating: ****
-Comment: At least these two altar boys in a white gown (black collar). Of course others in historical clothing. I don’t know of any other/better scenes. Probably no boys in Lederhosen/sailor suits.

This TV movie (120 minutes) had been aired some weeks ago and maybe I forget the beginning. But I don’t expect much more. Set mainly after WWI, but according to IMDb also in the 1900s. Maybe some flashbacks or else at the beginning. Novel by Georg Lohmeier. It’s not a real Heimatfilm but has rural or even alpine setting.

Not sailot suits but good clothing of the altar boys with rare black collars (at a funeral). In most Heimatfilms collars are red or purple and often there’s a wedding at the end. Not available on either DVD or VHS and no clips. Also starring Mona Freiberg, Hans Schuler and Gundi Ellert.

Rating 4-5. I will check this again the next broadcasting.

Comedy /Heimatfilm starring Beppo Brem
-Year: 1967
-Year in film: 1960s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~10-12, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: men, Lederhosen
-Available on DVD: VHS only
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: medium
-Rating: 9/10
-Rating: *********
-Comment: 2 boys in short smooth finish Lederhosen (one in black with a belt, one in brown without suspenders). Later also one in a long buckskin Lederhosen. Probably the Hochfilzer brothers, one might be 13, probably sons of Hansjörg Hochfilzner. One other might be Toni Hagemüller. One very brief scene of a very young boy in buckskin Lederhosen with H-style suspenders (but far in the distance) and some men in short and long Lederhosen. Also Schuhplattler dancing (men only).

As announced this movie with almost perfect scenes. Sadly some few minutes mostly at the beginning (hanging at a church bell, also some even better scenes while swinging and ringing the bell, but I choose this one), later standing and playing with his belt, also rolling in the grass but bad view and in the distance.

One rather short scene of young men dancing with women, Schuhplatter but no Watchnplattler. Dirndldrahn. Typical wide green Tyrolean cotton suspenders, buckskin or patina leather. Also older men in longer black buckskin Lederhosen. But also not many scenes.

Half of this movie are mountain climbing scenes in the snow and very boring. Even not funny at all. I considered even rating 10, maybe one of the best smooth finish Lederhosen scenes ever (so far). But personally I prefer Lederhosen with suspenders and real, peacefully Heimatfilms with cabins and animals. I have to watch it again and compare it to other movies (with teens). I couldn’t find any clips and only a VHS release.

Novel by Karl Springenschmid. Also starring Sepp Rist, Rudi Lindner and Franz Jäger. Film aka “Entscheidung am wilden Kaiser” and Ruf der Berge.

Comedy film starring Lilli Palmer, Romy Schneider
-Year: 1954
-Year in film: 1909
-Country: Germany, CH
-Who in clothing: boy ~12, other boys, girls, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2: suit, knickers
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: medium
-Rating: 7/10
-Rating: *******
-Comment: One boy in a quite rare medium blue sailor suit, white collar, 3 stripes, blue scarf (also white napkin), long white stockings, not 100% sure but I think this might be 12 yo Peter Rühmann (son of famous Heinz Rühmann and part of the main family in this movie), 3 quite long scenes (also sitting in the circus, first row, having fun) and also in other traditional clothing (suit). Some other younger and older boys and (teen) girls, mostly inside a circus (nearly the complete 2nd half of this film is set there). Also one boy with a very good white collar and his white dickey hanging out, and one boy with a short brown sailor collar (I will make a separate story entry of this 2, soon). Some grown-ups, especially women in historical clothing and collars, but I think none in a real sailor dress, typical period clothing with umbrellas, also costumes and circus uniforms. Some other younger kids in the background, but often very short scenes and far in the distance. Some with flat straw hats. No notable close up views of girls in sailor dresses.

Finally another good historical sailor suit movie which I haven’t seen before. Had just been aired.

Starring Lilli Palmer, Romy Schneider, Claus Biederstaedt, Rudolf Vogel, Lina Carstens and others. Directed by Kurt Hoffmann (Rheinsberg (1967), rating 5, Das fliegende Klassenzimmer (1954), Morgens um Sieben ist die Welt noch in Ordnung). English title “Fireworks”.

I’m, not sure if I would buy this movie. Some few good scenes but sadly too many circus scenes. But I give rating 6-7. There are also 3 later movies in 1963, 1971 and 1976, which I also have to check. There are some clips on YouTube. Very good and long white collar flap, but no perfect close up view from behind. The boy with the dark blue collar (pic 4) is also shown completely, rather short suit and thin, and I think it’s the same in pic 3.

2 more pics at

This tiny pic showing Adalbert, probably German in Nov 1913 with a goat. It’s not my best pic

This tiny pic showing Adalbert, probably German in Nov 1913 with a goat. It’s not my best pic (one of my favourite and most expensive ones and much better ones coming next). The pic has many scratches and I already have tried to remove most of them. Don’t know the location, maybe Southern Germany and it looks like a vivarium or zoo. So maybe no slaughtering or milking.

The expression is interesting. What was he thinking about. And who was happier: The goat or the boy. And what was he doing with it and who had taken the picture?

The stockings are not short but most boys had longer stockings to cover the bare knees. The collar is short at front, so I assume a long collar flap, sadly it can’t be seen.

3 new entries on my exclusive TOP 5 list and some on my other stat pics. Exclusive #4 almost has 1000 hits yet. And there are new tumblr blogs showing it (but I don’t link to WWII and cadaver image blogs). Pic 4 was taken in 1930 (not 30s) and has not much to do with WWII nor cadavers. Not much sailor suit pics on there anyway.

-Who in clothing: Pepperl ~10 ys , other boys shorts
-Who in clothing 2: men, Lederhosen, altar boys
-Available on DVD: VHS only
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: medium *
-Rating: 3/10 ?
-Rating: ***
-Comment: At least 2 boys barefeet in (longer) shorts with suspenders, maybe buckskin leather, theroef Markus Neumaier as Pepperl, but no real Lederhosen with H-style suspenders known. Also altar boys (white/black clothing) and of course men in Lederhosen with suspenders and Tyrolean hats (pictured).

After the much better 1957 version (rating 8, smooth finish Lederhosen, see that entry), I make this entry for the sake of completion. 60 minutes are on archive.org (described as the 1957 version), but I doubt that this movie is in the Public Domain yet. Starring Robert Hoffmann, Adrian Hoven, Sky Du Mont and Friethjof Vierock. Directed by Alfred Vohrer (Derrick, Winnteou, Der Hexer).

I don’t like this version, no good Lederhosen scenes, best are probably the altar boys. However probably a good plot and landscape scenes. I will check this again the next broadcasting.

Rating 2-3 for now.

I don’t know/don’t remember this complete movie. The first 50 minutes of the 1975 version is available at archive.org (but no or no notable Lederhosen scenes of boys, best is pictured, I think shorts only, also note that the boy is bare feet. Rating would be ~3.) Wrongly discribed as the 1957 version and obviosuly much worse. There are also a 1939 and 2011 movie. English title “King of the Edelweiss”.

One better pic of the 1957 version is at

Starring Rudolf Lenz, Christiane Hörbiger, Attila Hörbiger and Olga von Togni.

Looks like a very good Heimatfilm, I assume typical good landscape scenes, good clothing including Tyrolean hats and maybe barefeet boys as well. Unlike the 1975 version which is available on VHS, this movie is obviously not available and rare. I hope for a soon broadcasting on free TV and have to update (all versions).

Rating 8 for now.

Doku am Freitag. Different WDR series, 40+ episodes
-Year: 2003-
-Year in film: ~1930s/1950s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~8, 17, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: boy ~11, sailor suit, other clo.
-Available on DVD: no ?
-I own: yes, partly TV recordings
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating: 4/10 *
-Rating: ****
-Comment: Some boys in Lederhosen and sailor suit (b&w).

This is a combined entry of series Deutsche Dynastien (partly also “Dynastien in NRW”) and the new series “Adelsdynastien in NRW” (I mentioned this before) maybe this series will be integrated in the main series and maybe released on one DVD. In some TV magazines it’s just said Doku am Freitag (the same in where “Meine Kindheit…” was shown.)

First “Adelsdynastien in NRW” Episode 1 (2012): Die Grafen Beissel von Gymnich (Satzvey)

One short moving b&w scene of 2 boys picking up potatoes or similar from the ground/field. One maybe 8 ys bending down showing his backside of buckskin Lederhosen. Probably many will like this scene, but it’s very short and he’s quite young. I think one other scene of an older teen boy/young man in long buckskin Lederhosen walking, but not sure if leather and a very brief scene. Not sure if everyone is aristocratic.

Deutsche Dynastien: ep 30: Die Thyssens (2011). 2 non-moving photos shown. First one good scene of ~5 Thyssen boys in fine historical 1900s clothing, later a family pic with one boy ~11 (I think one generation later) in a good sailor suit. Also some original footage of Germany during WWII/in the 30s (uniforms) but no or no notable scenes there.

I have seen some other episodes but can’t remember them and have to check them again. Probably some more few similar scenes in Lederhosen or sailor suits, but this series is not primary about childhoods but about the history of the dynasties.

Sorry, no pics. I decided to not upload pics of these. Probably they are personal films and private pics. The series is also often rebroadcasted.

Rating 4 due to very few interesting scenes (and b&w either), Lederhosen scene 4-5.

Update: Norddeutsche Dynastien: Bahlsen – Ein Keks macht Karriere. At least one good photo of 3 boys wearing sailor suits (no pic here).

German TV series about a boarding school, 15+ seasons
-Year: 1998-
-Year in film: ~2012
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: Jonny ~13ys, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: not yet
-I own: yes, TV recordings
-Clothing occurence: low *
-Rating: 8/10
-Rating: ********
-Comment: Paul Hartmann (pictured) in longer medium brown buckskin Lederhosen with suspenders (sitting) in ep 716/s15e28).

At the beginning of this episode in a faked talk show, also shown Timmi Trinks as Fynn DeFreeze in the blue shirt. (For Timmi Trinks also see “Sophie – Braut wider Willen” , rating 5). I even didn’t remember his name as he is much older now.

Also a better close up view of the Lederhosen (frontside) and at another angle (sideview/backside) but I choose this pic to show the length. Although Paul Hartmann is acting since the beginning of this season he is rarely shown in Lederhosen (see main entry of season 15 (also on my overalls blog) and ep. 709 (rating 7) showing him rehearsing the Schuhplattler dance (alone)).

/2012/05/26/schloss-einstein-episode-709/

Rebroadcasting tomorrow on Kika (as usual). I didn’t watch it completely as I was watching and recording something else. I only noticed this short scene and have to check this tomorrow again.

Rating 8 (best in this season yet).

Update: I missed on scene indeed, he is also standing and showing from behind. But this is not as good and a short scene.

-I own: no
-Rating: 7/10 ?
-Rating: *******
-Comment: At least 12 or 13 yo Martin Stührk in good smooth finish or Lederhosen with patina and H-style suspenders.

Unfortunately I still haven’t seen this movie and found it by coincidence looking for another one. As what I have seen in the trailer this looks very good although he looks a bit thin and much younger. Some funny and even better scenes in the trailer, but I choose this pics instead of just showing his bottom or pics from a distance. Also a shirtless bathtub scene. Medium or more Lederhosen scenes (he also wore other clothes), maybe other actors in Lederhosen or maybe shorts as well?

Novel by Dieter Bongartz, also starring Kai Wiesinger, Katharina Böhm and Erika Marozsán. English title “The Tenth Summer”.

I’m not sure about this movie and hope for a soon broadcasting. I think I wouldn’t buy it on DVD, but I rate 7-8 for now.

Stührk also starred in “Räuber Hotzenplotz (2006)”, see that entry, rating 4. I don’t embed the trailer as it’s from the official movie company.

Heimatfilm, novel Peter Rosegger starring Paul Hörbiger
-Year: 1955
-Year in film: 1950s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys, men, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: altar boys, other hist. clothing
-Available on DVD: no
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating: 1/10 *
-Rating: *
-Comment: One very short scene of a boy in light brown longer buckskin Lederhosen (pictured with a brown hat looking down behind the one with the black hat) and some altar boys (red/white clothing). One toddler in longer buckskin Lederhosen and a hat (2nd pic on the right). Some men in different Lederhosen and other historical clothing (black pants and others in white pants and short pants over them, pictured). There is a person at a bowling alley (outside and far in the distance), not sure if this is a teen boy or a men.

Very few Lederhosen scenes (of boys). Some men in typical Lederhosen, also dancing (but no Schuhplattler). The movie is quite good and a typical Heimatfilm and landscape, some songs and some few dramatic scenes but could be much better.

Also starring Hermann Erhardt, Kurt Heintel, Erich Auer and Oskar Sima. I haven’t found any DVD nor VHS release. There is a related 1984 sequel which is available on VHS. I have to check this as well (starring Franco Nero and Tilo Prückner), sometimes wrongly dated also as the 1955 version.

For Lederhosen scenes rating 1-2. Movie would be ~5. No clips.

This large photo showing a large group of boys, most in sailor suits, others with similar suits, some in pants with suspenders and at least one in Lederhosen. 1920s. Not stated, but I’m convinced that the location must be Hohensyburg, Dortmund (which looks different nowadays). Maybe more than just one class, but I’ve seen such big classes elsewhere. I don’t think that they travel long distances this times, so they might be from North-Rhine Westphalia. One boy on the front left is marked with an X, maybe the previous owner. Note the scool caps and that most were smiling. Bad times to come.

Not my best pic but could be worse. My last exclusive pic had more than 400 hits yet and the last montage with the long collars even much more than the original pic. Much better pics coming soon.

Comedy Heimatfilm, novel Peter Rosegger
-Year: 1956
-Year in film: 1900s ?
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~5-9, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: altar boys, men
-Available on DVD VHS
-Clothing occurence: low *
-Rating: 4/10
-Rating: ****
-Comment: One unnamed boy, abot 9 yo at the beginning in light brown buckskin Lederhosen with suspenders (hand in pockets) and a yellow hat (pic 2, short scene), one very young boy in light blue Lederhosen (pic 3, 2 short scenes), one older boy in long, probably buckskin Lederhosen as well (helping clipping sheep) and some young boys doing a Watschnplattler in black longer Lederhosen. One is hitten so hard (fake) that he fell off the bench and cried. 2 altar boys (white/red clothing, outside also sitting on the meadow and quite often shown during the “happy pilgrimage”) and also men in Lederhosen doing Schuhplattler and show plattler even with real tools (axe and scythe, unpictured).

Finally another Heimatfilm as announced. Sadly only 2 brief scenes of older boys. The setting looks like the 1900s (hats of women, no elictrricity, however there are some modern trucks far in the background).

Starring Hanna Hutten, Beppo Brem, Bert Fortell and Maria Andergast. Quite funny, but there are better Heimatfilms.

Rating 3-4 only. Released on VHS (OOP). No clips.

-Comment: At least one young woman in a good white sailor dress. Blue collar square angled at front, 2 stripes, blue scarf and a straw hat. Probably some more actors in interesting historical clothing. Obviously a man in a kilt, maybe also men in uniforms. Women in wet dresses and also with a Tyrolean hat. Sorry, no pic yet. One pic is at

I found this by coincidence. I don’t know/don’t remember this maybe typical German softcore erotic comedy of the late 60s. Though an early setting in the 1910s. There are also some more similar or related movies with the characters Bonifatius Kiesewetter and Frau Wirtin set in the Austrian-Hungarian monarchy (k.u.k.). There is also a 1977 sequel called “Neue Abenteuer des Sanitätsgefreiten Neumann”. I have to check all these movies as well. Also starring Christiane Rücker, Rudolf Prack and Alexandra Marischka.

Might be quite interesting. Maybe there are also some boy actors in the background. If someone knows any, please comment. I hope for a soon broadcasting. Available on DVD. No clips. Film aka “Mit Grapsch und Gloria”.

Rating 3 for now.

Another exclusive photo showing an older boy, maybe teen boy in a short sailor suit. Taken in Dresden in 1935. Looks like a wedding. I don’t know their names.

Note the stockings with bare knees (and that at a wedding) and his short hair. The collar showing few short parts on the front, so I assume a rather long collar flap. Sadly it cannot be seen. The girl, probably his sister didn’t wear a sailor dress.

Very few hits on the last exlusive pic 13 (backside boys 2, I wonder why, just 24 hits yet). Pic 12 has 312 hits, Pic 11 has 276, most others also more than 200, Pic 4 (backside) has 724, Pic 9 Lederhosen 287, Pic 3 Hungary 681, Pic 1 only 367 hits, although much longer online.

Documentary
-Year: 2011
-Year in film: 1950s-1970s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~6-12, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: shorts
-Available on DVD no
-Clothing occurence: low *
-Rating: 5/10
-Rating: *****
-Comment: Some boys in different Lederhosen. Short and long, smooth finish, probably nappa (first pic, one boy only), some mostly younger boys also Lederhosen with suspenders (pic below). Best scenes at the beginning. Also many in tight shorts, some shorts might also be of buckskin leather, but can’t say for sure. Most scenes showing their backside. One scene is also very good, but this is a Lederhosen blog and not for shorts or bottoms only.

This is the last episode in this series (I missed the first ones and have to recheck them; next week aristocrats, also including historic images, not sure if also boys).

Like the previous episodes this are childhood memories, this one growing up rural. Some people of North Rhine-Westfalia telling their stories. There’s a subtitle that one man being interviewed has only left some photos, so most or all vintage film scenes being shown are not private scenes of the people, but must be from other short or longer documentaries. If anybody knows the origin and the film titles, please comment.

Most scenes, especially the 1st one seems to be from the 60s. Typical glasses. Some very few scenes in color, some of the 70s, but no good Lederhosen scenes (one young boy in the background). No sailor suits at all.

I like farms, but prefer the huge US farms with warmer climate (see my other blog). One young boy wearing (simple, maybe non-jeans) bib overalls only. Some interesting stories like pigs being bathed before slaughtering in the same tin tub like the kids. And one complete village doesn’t exist anymore at all and the biggest treasure of a woman are some photos of it. Rural parts are very common after WWII and most people live in cities now. But the complete life and time has changed. So did the clothing. No boy would wear Lederhosen except in Bavaria. And nobody sailor suits.

Rating 5. Only 1-2 very good but very brief scenes.

-Comment: At least one older boy in a short sailor suit (pictured).

This is a lost movie, so please don’t ask if I have it or know where to get it. The pic is taken from the documentary “Die Sprache der Schatten” which is on some DVD versions of “Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens (1922)”, in Germany the deluxe box. There are some stills of this (and other movies of Murnau) shown, 2 pics with this boy. Not sure if there are some more stills or even short clips available somewhere. There is also a real boy acting similar to that of the painting.

Silent movie, 54 minutes, aka “Der Todessmaragd” and “The Boy in Blue”. Based on the 1770s painting The Blue Boy by Thomas Gainsborough and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. Starring Ernst Hofmann and Blandine Ebinger. First movie of Murnau.

I don’t know the name of the boy actor (uncredited at IMDb), maybe Eugen as Rudolf. And I can’t say much more about this movie. Looks quite interesting. Also the plot about an emerald hidden in a castle. Rating 4-5.

I also have to check the many other versions of Dorian Gray movies. Looks like good period movies.

-Comment: Some boys (supporting actors in the background) in buckskin Lederhosen (pictured), mainly shortly after the beginning at a fun fair. Some younger men in Lederhosen with wide green Tyrolean cotton suspenders bowling outside (one even shirtless), some kids watching. Men also dancing, but no Schuhplattler. Also some very young boys, but in the far background, too. And of course some older men in Lederhosen, some sitting in a band. Also later at hunting scenes. Quite unusual a woman in pants (not Marianne Hold).

The first Heimatfilm this week, and it was worse than expected, although directed by famous Luis Trenker. The person on the pic I saw was obviously not a teen boy. (However the one tomorrow will be much better, I hope).

Typical Heimatfilm, quite good landscape scenes, some music, romantic scenes, but few dramatic scenes. Could be much better. Also starring Marianne Hold, Bert Fortell and Mathias Wiemann. Novel by Hans Ernst.

Note on the second pic the boy sitting in the lower right corner and also some on the carrousel. On the pic below there is one kid on the far left (not sure if it’s a boy), there are some more boys there, also a blond boy walking to the right, showing briefly their faces only. On the first pic there’s also a boy in the middle swing in Lederhosen, but I prefer this scene showing the oldest boy. They swing very high. But no perfect close up scene of boys in Lederhosen.

Released on VHS. I also saw some DVD offers but probably DVD-r. Completely on YouTube anyway.

Rating 2-3.

Another exclusive pic. This is a little snippet of a photo postcard. Not sure who cut it out. It had been sent to a female doctor in Bavaria, but I can’t hardly identify much more. I know the destination city, but it’s nothing of interest. I can’t identify the sender only the first 2 letters of a city on the seal. There are some also unidentifyable words, obviously also written by the boys. So it probably was a greeting card. There is a very small remnant of the stamp. All together and because of the old German writing and the hat of the woman I assume the date about 1920. I assume a 10 Rpf stamp, so before the Depression and later, sailor suits were also quite rare.

I retouched it a bit, it was more faded and colder more blue b&w and had some scratches. Also note the short stockings. And long collars. Very good scene. I hope you like it. I later wonder, who took this photo. Maybe not their dad. Maybe even another older brother? Or a completely unrelated person. And where they were heading to? Or coming from.

Make sure you don’t miss my 2 other posts of today.

-Rating: *****
-Comment: About four short notable (moving) scenes of boys in Lederhosen, 2 in b&w, 2 in color. Also shirtless scenes in shorts and wet underwear.

Next episode in this series, but produced one year earlier (vintage footage though). Some famous people of North-Rhine Westfalia, mostly actors are talking about their childhood. This time in the big cities. First pic/scene was shown as Claus Theo Gärtner who grew up in Oberhausen was talking. Not sure if this scene was really filmed in Oberhausen, but most likely not show him. The two other pics are probably filmed in Cologne. The color pic is from a kindergarten or similar. Not sure about the fabric. One other color scene but in a bad quality and far in the background, a boy outside with suspenders, but not sure if really Lederhosen. The pic below showing a boy in smooth finish or nappa Lederhosen (striped shirt in the middle, background at the door and some younger boys in buckskin Lederhosen.Very short scene and only shown from behind. One more b&w scene of a boy in buckskin Lederhosen shown from behind (unpictured).

Some good shirtless scenes at a fountain in wet also white underwear (briefs) the best are photos, but this is not an underwear movie blog. Next Friday “Meine Kinderheit… auf dem Lande” also interesting.

Interesting series and this episode is also about playing soccer and else in the ruined cities after the War. And also the 70s with school life and social problems wit immigrants. And the change of the cities like the first traffic light in this (part) of the city. However these are some few impressions of just few people and this might had been different depending on the size of the city, if someone was poor or rich and else. There are also some other documentaries about the 50s ansd 60s.

Rating 4-5 only. See also the previous episode (rating 7, showing smooth finish Lederhosen and sailor suit scenes).

Ganghofer Heimatfilm starring Rudolf Lenz
-Year in film: 1880s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: men, Lederhosen
-Available on DVD no
-Clothing occurence: verly low *
-Rating: 3/10
-Rating: ***
-Comment: At least one boy in light brown buckskin Lederhosen and some younger boys in black buckskin Lederhosen with suspenders (pictured). Short scene and background actors only. And of course some men in Lederhosen, also dancing Schuhplattler.

Finally another Heimatfilm which had been aired some days ago. Fourth movie adaption of this famous 1883 novel by Ludwig Ganghofer. Probably the best known author of Heimatfilms and starring famous Rudolf Lenz. Also starring Traute Wassler, Maria Hellwig, Walter Sedlmayr, Erni Singerl and Siegfried Rauch.

I have seen this movie many times but recently I missed the first half, but don’t expect much more there. Typical but very good Heimatfilm of the 50s.

For this Lederhosen scenes I can only rate 3 for now. And have to watch it once more. I wonder why there is no DVD of this version.

Update: Now completely seen. No more noteble scenes. 2 or 3 scenes with mostly very young boys in the background.

Rating 2-3.

Comedy film, modern version by Ulrike Ottinger
-Year: 2004
-Year in film: 1927/2000s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boy, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2: men, sailor suit, other boys
-Available on DVD yes
-I own: partly TV recording
-Clothing occurence: very low ?
-Rating: 5/10 ?
-Rating: *****
-Comment: At least one boy in a rare modern sleeveless shirt with a blue sailor collar. Also at least 2 or 3 sailors in different sailor suits. And other boys and grown-ups in historical clothing.

Based after the 1928 novel “The Twelve Chairs”Original title: Dvenadtsat stulyev (12 стульев) by Ilya Ilf and Petrov, set in 1927 and had been made into several movies. This is a German movie (Russian language, except for the German narration, German subtitles), filmed in the Ukraine and combined old 1920s and modern props, cars, electronics and colorful clothing. Probably the only modern one (except for stage plays). This scene is at 1h22 / at the end of part 3. I don’t know the complete film/series yet. In part 4 there are no boys in sailor suits but in other historical clothing. Funny plot about jewels hidden in one of 12 chairs and people want to get them. Next episodes will be aired next Sunday on 3sat. Most streaming and download clips claim to be the 2004 version some including the right cover, but aren’t. So pay attention. Other versions also have kids, but besides historical clothing I haven’t seen any in sailor suits yet.

Rating 4-5 for now, although few good scenes yet. Another modern series and webfind coming soon. Some shorter clips on YouTube but not with this scene.

Update: Now I have seen the rest of the episodes. The boy in sailor suit only appeared at the end of the film on a stage (shown from behind). The 2 boys sitting above the stage. One young sailor on a ship, I think in ep. 5, quite often shown. The pic is on the web. I still have to check the complete first 3 episodes. Pic below is from ep 3 (or 4).
