$2 and I’m addicted.

This was my first, given tiny, haul at Publix two days ago. It was a chaperoned first time thanks to my best friend and coupon queen, but it was a liberating experience.

Pushing cart to registrar with binder in hand, I was so relieved to find out our 20-something year old cashier was an avid lover and practitioner of the coupon sport. Not only was she beyond excited to see two young adults taking advantage of savings, but she helped find me more clippings to bring my total down by $2.

And just like that, I was hooked.

Hopefully some of you all were lucky enough to get the 25% CVS Extracare coupon in your email! Remem

Hopefully some of you all were lucky enough to get the 25% CVS Extracare coupon in your email! Remember that you can wait until Sunday to print or send it to card and extend the coupon into Thursday of next week and use it on the following week’s deals! Remember that the %-off coupons only work on regularly-priced items with a price that is not listed in the ad. If the price is listed in the ad, it’s on “sale” and won’t work with the %-off q (even if it’s the regular price of the item!). It also does not apply to BOGO, BOGO50, or dollar-off items. So if you’re wanting to use it on deals that produce ECBs, here’s what you can use it on. Note: Everything excludes trial/travel and clearance.

NOTE: There is also going to be 20% In-Ad coupons for some of us, and the ad coupon states that it cannot be combined with another CVS/pharmacy coupon, so you shouldn’t be able to stack the 2 percent offs. It’s a YMMV move if your store allows it through. The in-ad will also ring up as an “X-tra Day Discount” and will calculate differently than the email. The ad coupon will not work on ecb-producing regular price items unless you have them scan an item first BEFORE your card, but most stores won’t allow that. So tis another YMMV. Personally, I’ll stick with the email if you got it!

If you use it this week, you can do:

- Spend $15 on any Swiffer, get 5ecbs (limit 1)
- Spend $15 on any Lysol Household Cleaners, get 5ecbs (limit 1)

Made a quick trip to Publix today as I was on a mission for a couple of things for the beau. He’d just got out of same day surgery and had a request for yogurt and milk. Knowing I still had some things I wanted to get at Publix, and knowing the Activia was on sale there as well, I decided to kill two birds with one stone. I paid a bit more for the milk and Silk than I’d liked (especially since I was originally planning to purchase them with the Catalina’s I’d got from my last Kroger trip), but it’ll all work itself even in time. I didn’t want to be out too long since the beau was still in recovery mode and needed me at home for various things.

So here’s what I did:

(1) Silk Vanilla Almondmilk = $3.35 (eek!)
(1) Publix 2% milk = $3.09
(1) Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips BOGO $8.49 ($4.25ea) = $4.25
(6) Birdseye Steamfresh Veggies 50% off $2.59 (~$1.30ea) = $7.77
(2) Activia 4pack Yogurts 3/$5 or $1.67ea ($2reg) = $3.34
(1) Baileys Creamer BOGO $2.29 ($1.15ea) = $1.15

Total before coupons = $22.95 ($42.36reg)

Coupons Used

(1) -$1/1 Any Silk Half-gallon IP <= NLA
(2) -$1/2 Birdseye Steamfresh Item IP
(1) -$1/2 Birdseye Steamfresh Chef’s Favorite IP <= NLA
(1) -.75/1 Tyson crispy chicken strips, SS 4/28
(2) -$1/1 off Dannon Activia product, 4 pk., SS 5/19

There’s a $1/2 IP Coupon for the Baileys creamer located here (zip 03103) that would have made it a better deal, but I didn’t have it with me.

Total after coupons = $16.20 + tax!
Not too shabby for everything I wanted on my list and the couple of extras I had to tag on by request and time convenience!

I know there’s folks out there making killer overage with the Sundown vitamins, but really that’s not my thing. Even if it means getting alot of other stuff free because of it. I just can’t get myself in the mindset to load up on a ton of vitamins I wouldn’t use. To each their own, and I’ll continue what I consider my practical spending. Thanks for reading! Happy shopping!

On a scale of 1 being a paper cut and 10 being birth, adulthood is an 11.

OK, fine. I’m being dramatic because I’ve been at work for the last eight hours.

But as a recent graduate from almost-ivy-league UF, learning that I’m not making $100,000 – or even $30,000- right off the bat as I, maybe naively, thought I would, is a rough reality.

While I’m not working 40+ hours on big-deal projects and advising rich clients, I am doing all of the things I yearned for in the last four years in college town, like getting to spend quality time with my 4-year, previously long-distance boyfriend and living a healthy lifestyle.

Over the last week, I’ve dived head first into two things I never thought I’d love so much – crossfit and couponing. Both have made me realize how good it feels to feel good, and how much I, and most average people, can’t afford to be healthy. Hence, the dual journey into my $120-per-month fitness regimen and attempts at saving the little money I have left after that.

Although my new passions may be frugal attempts to boost my bruised and broke ego, I’m excited to share my attempts with the world.

Here it is Friday, so I was pretty surprised they still had some left in stock. Though, CVS is the best with rain checks so it would still have been worth the stop in anyway.

The Oral B toothbrushes were on sale for $5.99, used a $3 off Manufacturer Coupon & earned $2 extra bucks, so each one only cost $1!

The Physicians Formula eye shadow was 12.29. I used a $4 CVS coupon from the coupon machine, and earned $7 extra bucks! So that only cost, $1.29

I also used a $4 extra buck reward from a previous purchase, so I paid $10.92 out of pocket, and got back $11!

Perfect!

This was my best haul yet & I figured it deserved the honor of being the first post.

CVS has been having some great deals! Such great deals that I’ll sometimes find myself at CVS twice a week. Yes, couponing can become quite addicting. Once you know what the deals are, you want it too! Especially this one… It’s a MONEYMAKER.

& for those of you playing along… here’s how you can score this deal too!

This past month, May 2013, had many mini magical moments for me. In my mind the “normal” definition of magic does not really fit these events, but I believe that magic is the thing, the time, the happening, the event that makes you feel special, invokes a variety of emotions and makes you feel alive. May gave me a few new things to try and each one was something I had never done before.

The beginning of the month brought about the Anaphylaxis Canada Food Allergy Awareness Community Conference and Doug and I attended it. I have been to the odd conference, but not in a long while so I was not sure what to expect. This was just to be an afternoon, which was plenty for our first foray into the Food Allergy world in this fashion. The main topic was “Ask the Expert” and I was armed to the teeth with questions and very eager to get started. The conference did not disappoint. There were lots of sponsors including Medical Alert, Olli Lolli, Allerject and Allergic Living and they all had abundant amounts of pamphlets to share and samples to take home. We were given two trainer Epi pens and Allerject auto-injectors to practice with at home. The speakers were incredible, full of knowledge and very empathetic to our common disease of Food Allergies. I enjoyed every bit of the day, but the segment “Kids Tell It Like It Is” with Kyle Dine was very eye opening. Six teens from the Anaphylaxis Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) spoke about dealing with Food Allergies from their viewpoint. They were all very mature, well spoken and it was a pleasure to listen to them. Many of my questions were answered before the question period began, which was a very good thing. Anyone who knows me knows my own little, ah, issue. I get very emotional over things that affect my family and this is no exception. By the time question period rolled around it was all I could do to utter a word or two to Doug without my voice cracking, LOL. This conference was a great way to start off May and truly a magical moment for me.

May also brought about a flurry of activity involving On Line Auctions. I posted about this new passion of mine here and it is has proven to be a great way to make a few bucks! It is hard to believe, but it is also addicting, LOL. If you have some stuff to purge from your house and are not really a fan of hosting a yard sale then I suggest you check out these On Line Auctions. You won’t regret it

A few weeks ago I decided to stop procrastinating about something I have wanted to get more information on and so I met with a local expert in the area of Couponing. Yes, you read that right, I said Couponing. This is a popular money saving technique in the United States, but you do not hear a lot about it in Canada. A few months ago I read this article in the Brampton Guardian about a local gal who coupons. She is an airline hostess as well and is known as The Flying Couponer. My interest in this article led me to a Facebook group for Couponing here in Ontario and I dove right in. I was fortunate enough to meet with Maria Faria-Soper, the creator of this group and she spent three hours with me, showing me the ropes! I was shocked at all the details, the tips and tricks and I suggested to Maria that she should host some sort of class for newbies to Couponing like me. Yes, it was that informative and well worth the three hours we spent together. Thank you again for sharing your expertise with me Maria. It was a bit scary at first, but during my first purchase after that time with Maria, I used eight coupons and saved almost thirty dollars!! No, that is not an exaggeration. What a thrill to realize I had saved that money from our grocery bill using something we all have access to. How’s that for a little magic? Another addiction has been born!!

So tell me, what Magical Moments do you have to share with us today? What emotions were wrought because of these special times?

As summer is getting closer and I continue to do some couponing, I came across some deals to benefit

As summer is getting closer and I continue to do some couponing, I came across some deals to benefit someone with a little one. I created a gift basket for my cousin and her baby girl so that their family can start the summer off with some fun!

I was able to get her some little swimmers, some SPF 50 and a new sippy cup, and of course, being summer, she needed to have some peaches to eat. I was also able to get her some wipes and another package of diapers. I hope they are able to enjoy the gift and do something fun this summer! Maybe a kiddie pool is in their future!

The beau needed some things to prep for his doctor’s visit tomorrow, and while I was out that

The beau needed some things to prep for his doctor’s visit tomorrow, and while I was out that way I put together a transaction for the awesome General Mills Catalina deal going on. Basically, it’s buy 5 participating GM products and you’ll get a $5 Catalina coupon for your next shopping trip. You can roll them and separate transactions up where you can use one cat on the next transaction if you want. I just decided to do it all in one transaction so I could use them on my next visit which will probably include alot of necessities like bread, milk, etc.

Here’s what I did:

GM Products -
(6) Fiber One Protein Bars $1.99ea ($4.09reg) = $11.94
(2) Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch 2/$5 ($3.58reg) = $5
(2) Golden Grahams Cereal 2/$5 ($3.23reg) = $5

Other Products -
(1) Simple Truth Chicken Broth $1.97
(1) Kroger Beef Broth $1.59
(1) Purity Banana Pops $2.19

Total before coupons = $27.69

Coupons Used

(2) -$2/2 on any GM Cereal Sample table coupon
(3) -.50/2 Fiber One Chewy bars, brownies or Protein Chewy bars, SS 5/05 (doubled)
(1) -$1 Kroger eCoupon (unsure for what- wasn’t expecting it)

Total after coupons = $19.69 + tax
Received two $5 oyno cats from GM making it really cost me $9.69 for all! Great deal!

I love couponing. My glory days were living in an urban apartment building where every apartment got

I love couponing. My glory days were living in an urban apartment building where every apartment got a coupon insert and all the tenants threw them straight in the recycling bin in our mail room–fair game and boy did I make use of them getting through grad school on a shoestring. But, the more I learn about food, the more committed I am to clean eating, and I love the taste of scratch made food so much I’ve lost my taste for most processed foods, so couponing is a lot more work now, I try to consider it a challenge, but really it’s just not the same rush it was when I could get paid to take 4 tubes of lavender icing out of the store and my lean pockets and cereal were free.

And then…there were care packages. A lot of the things that travel well and last in the heat and make soldiers smile are just pennies if you shop smart, and so my goal is to spend as little as humanly possible to get them. Jerky, tuna, candy, cookies, chips, beverage mix, toiletries, all very prevalent in the coupon world. The other day, I got two care package items for free: a Gillette razor and old spice deodorant kit on clearance for $5, and I happened to have a $5 coupon for a Gillette razor and it worked! Score! Also a bottle of nail polish that was actually less than the value of the coupon I had, which was awesome because I just finished a girls’ night box for the female officers who have become my close friends here.

If you’re not familiar, and toying with the idea of trying this, let me share the 5 best tips for really amazing deals:

1) Get at least 2 of every coupon/circular (because of BOGO deals, below), the more the better. Ask your neighbors for their inserts from the Sunday paper if they don’t use them. Grab coupons everywhere: in the red dispensers at the store, the stacks of them on the shelf at the Commissary, the booklets at the front of the store. Just because you don’t need something now doesn’t mean you might not want it before it expires (and some stores take expired coupons up to 1 month, test and see).

2) Clip coupons you might use, but don’t really need and sort them anyway. Every store I go in, I check the clearance section, and often get things for free this way. Example, $2 off coupon when applied to high end nail polish on clearance for $1.97 actually got me 3c back, and I love the color.

3) Don’t ignore the smaller coupons! Many stores will double coupons up to 50c, and many coupons for low cost staples may only be for 35 or 50 cents. If you wait for a sale at a store that doubles (coupons now worth 70c/$1), you can get many staple items for 60+% off.

4) Look for buy 1 get 1 free deals. Technically you are still buying 2 items, so you can use 2 coupons. It’s like getting them for 50% off PLUS one coupon per each which is a lot of savings.

5) For certain items, especially less processed foods and natural toiletries, you may find coupons hard to come by. However, these brands often reward customer loyalty. Join their email list and facebook page. Set up an email that is just for coupon mailings and you can catch most coupons by just searching your inbox for “coupon” and “off” and “savings” and print the ones you want.

While my job is engaging and and challenging, it is not mathematical, and I love the mental challenge of working the numbers. I recently caught a multi-layered deal that was so good the store took down the coupons the next day: BOGO on chicken breasts, plus a coupon for $2 off chicken with the purchase of a jar of mayo, plus $2 off that same jar of mayo! Now, some stores require you to buy two items to get the special pricing, and it’s important to check, because the ones that don’t can give you more wiggle room. I got 4 lbs of chicken breasts and 2 jars of mayo for under $7, but I could have gotten one package of chicken and one jar of mayo and they would have honored it at this store. You don’t have to have crazy hoards of stuff to make it successful (although it is best to stock up 2-3 of things so you never have to buy them full price before another good deal comes along).

I have built up my own collection to the point that I stopped couponing for these items, but I am about to resume couponing for lotion, face wash, deodorant, lip balm, hair ties, bobby pins, because I found a GREAT place to donate them: Operation Courage Is Beautiful. I stumbled across this organization, which recognizes the morale importance of items that allow female soldiers to pamper themselves a little while deployed. If you also enjoy the thrill of the hunt for good bargains, organizations like this, and women’s shelters/homeless shelters, can always use more donations of toiletries. http://www.operationcourage.org/

I have read that with couponing you should aim to get one copy of the Sunday paper for every member

I have read that with couponing you should aim to get one copy of the Sunday paper for every member of your household. Not so y’all can read your respective copy simultaneously. Rather so you have an equivalent number of coupons to the number of people living in your home. I have shared before that I don’t wish to buy newspapers. Maybe one day I will but not today.

Every Friday a car drives through our neighborhood and flips the local paper into our driveway.

Everyone gets a copy.

Even if you don’t ever read it.

Even if you just drive over it and avoid it like the plague.

Meanwhile, couponers like myself note that you never collect your copy. Every time I see my neighbors across the street drive over their abandoned copy of the local paper I would think, “Oh man! There’s coupons in there.” Then for weeks I would tell Bart that I really needed to get the courage up to ask them for it. Well after I thought about this “big” step for way too long, I finally walked over and knocked on their door. I asked, “Do you want your copy of the local paper?”

To which the gal replied, “NO! We just drive over it anyway.”

I explained that I coupon. She happily agreed that I can take their copy right off their driveway anytime! Golly, all the nervousness and fretting. For weeks. In just a few minutes time I was walking home with more coupons. She even went through their copy of the Sunday paper and gave me the coupon inserts from it!

Today’s frugal tip is to lay your pride aside and go meet your neighbors.

I found having this simple request made for a great excuse to say hello and chat a bit. It was really fun.

Dear Jesus, thank you for your patience with me. Thank you that my neighbors don’t mind sparing their coupons for our benefit. Amen.

Thanks to some crazy amazing tips from Samantha from Lipgloss and Black on Etsy (link), I’ve s

Thanks to some crazy amazing tips from Samantha from Lipgloss and Black on Etsy (link), I’ve started printing/ordering coupons like it’s my job.

And this works out really well for me because getting high off of insanely good deals totally runs in my family.

Before going out to look for things to buy, I called my local Shoppers Drug Mart and asked if they even accepted coupons (important!!!!), and if I can apply them to sale items. The lady at the store said yes, and I had to go pick up a parcel anyway, so I went with my mom earlier in the evening.

Naturally, I tried to look for things that were already on sale (but not crappy sales like $0.50 off of a $15 item) and on good enough of a sale that I could feel okay about not having bought it at Walmart (if you know what I mean…everything is cheaper at Walmart 90% of the time).

So anyway, I got 3 things to which I was able to apply 3 of my print-out internet coupons :

Links to the website(s) I got the coupons from are at the bottom.

First of all, I rarely use pads (let alone Stayfree) but they’re always good to have. We also have tons and tons of body wash lying around the house just waiting to be used…but it’s not like it’s going to go bad, right? And I don’t get body pain at night a lot (especially not bad enough to affect my sleep) but my dad sure does! Anyway, here’s the breakdown:

Stayfree

Original Price: $5 (approximately. I can’t remember exactly)

Sale Price: $2.50

Coupon: -$1.00

Ending Price (before tax): $1.50

Savings: $3.50

Tylenol

Original Price: $22

Sale Price: $14

Coupon: -$5.00

Ending Price (before tax): $9

Savings: $12

Dial Body Wash

Original Price: $7

Sale Price: $4

Coupon: -$1.00

Ending Price (before tax): $3

Savings: $4

Subtotal: $13.50

Total Savings: $19.50

I’d say my first couponing experience was a modest success. It’s nowhere near extreme, but it’s something. And Canadian stores are not so forgiving when it comes to coupons, so it’s pretty darn good.

I’m expecting a ton more coupons (that are hopefully of use to my family) in the mail very shortly, so hopefully I’ll have more to report on when that happens. I’m going to try to wait until I can get stuff when they’re on sale first, though. Obviously.

I got the Dial coupon at Smartsource.ca which has a ton of great coupons for all kinds of things like food, diapers, detergents, etc.

And the Tylenol & Stayfree coupons were from HealthyEssentials.ca which only really has things that you could buy at a drug store. Useful nonetheless.

So RJ only eats the expensive granola bars that are intended to optimize your fiber and protein intake. There’s a formula I had to learn when we got married so I could buy the right ones. The boxes usually retail between $3.69-$4.50 per box.

So last week during Harris Teeter super doubles, I’d already done my shopping but I ended up with a few extra coupons- some manufacturers and $3.50 in Catalinas. So I decided to optimize our savings on these money-suckers.

RJ and I hit HT after church on Sunday (it’s not near our house) and with all coupons and doubling, we ended up paying $4.19 for seven – yes, SEVEN- boxes of them. Definitely felt like robbing the store.

Have you seen that TLC show Extreme Couponers? The one where people will dive into dumpsters, spend

Have you seen that TLC show Extreme Couponers? The one where people will dive into dumpsters, spend 60 hours a week clipping and planning 6 hour shopping trips, and sacrifice interior aesthetics in the name of bringing home thousands of dollars worth of products for free or pennies on the dollar? I would watch it on occasion before we cut cable, but a couple weeks ago I discovered it was on Netflix.

Guess what my nap time TV indulgence has become?

Now, I have no intentions of committing that much time, effort and space into my grocery trips. I haven’t even made a solid habit of meal planning for the week. Plus, I hate math, and the lists these men and women go to the store with scare me. But as a result of our complacency, the grocery budget is always the one that gets out of line month to month. We love to travel, and want to go visit my sister in law in San Diego this fall, but the money is never there. If I can shop smarter, and take some tricks from these people, then perhaps that grocery budget can lose some weight and we can siphon it into a more enjoyable and indulgent savings pot.

I’ve been passively couponing for a while. My mom and mother in law both give me their Telegram & Gazette circulars, and they’ve piled up. So this week, while the kiddos snoozed away, I popped on an episode of EC, pulled out a file box and some folders, grabbed the pile, and began getting organized.

After watching several episodes and seeing the systems these people used, I decided the easiest way for me to keep on top of it would be to file the circulars whole, then clip the coupons I need when I plan my trip. See my set up below and add in a computer.

Big Blue, the file box – Each manila folder holds a month of circulars (Smart Source, Red Plum, or P&G) chronologically with spines up so I can see the printed dates quickly. Circulars are tossed when their coupons expire.

Notebook – Holds my Emily Ley meal planning pages, which have spaces for your meals and a large space for your shopping list. I have to plan for my own family, plus the daycare kiddos.

Circulars – I have 2 grocery stores within 5 minutes of me (I know, spoiled) so I pull their weekly flyers out to check the deals. Some people go all out and shop 8 stores withing a 50 mile radius…I think 2 is good to start with.

Computer (not pictured) – Because I don’t have 60 hours a week to devote to this, I use the resources available. There are several blogs that do the deal matching legwork for you. I simply googled “Price Chopper coupon deals” and “Stop and Shop coupon deals”. They typically match up the sales in the flyer or on the shelves with coupons online (printables) or in recent circulars (referenced by title and date, hence my filing system for quick hunting). Having a printer that works (and hasn’t been blinking it’s LOW INK light at you for a month) will allow you to access even more savings with the online printable coupons.

Husband or Mother-in-Law (not pictured) – Useful for wrangling the wee princess if she’s awake. She thinks it’s fun to steal mommy’s laptop or pen and scribble all over my planning sheet.

This week I happened to get lucky, and achieved my biggest milestone yet – a free item! And what’s better, a free item that I NEEDED. My hubby has 3 staples in his beauty…I mean grooming…routine: Head and Shoulders 2 in 1, Old Spice deodorant and Old Spice body wash. I like to smell him after he showers.

Anyways…

Head and Shoulders is usually $5.79. This week it was marked down to $3.99.

The store had a coupon that I could load onto my membership card worth $2 off of 1. So now it was only $1.99. Awesome.

But wait, there’s more.

This Sunday’s circular had a $2 off 1 coupon…thereby making my purchase -$0.01.

That’s a negative, folks.

Sadly I only had one of each coupon, otherwise you better believe I would have stocked up.

I’ll keep you updated with other hot deals I nab and tips on “Smart Shopping” as I’ve deemed my less than extreme version of couponing. I’m still very much learning, but I believe in sharing what you know!

Well after a so-so vacation my husband and I decided we were going to have a great 4-day Memorial We

Well after a so-so vacation my husband and I decided we were going to have a great 4-day Memorial Weekend at home. We took a vacation day on Friday to run errands and grocery shop, things we couldn’t do all week since returning to work immediately after the trip.

And then I left my coupon binder with my checkbook in it in a shopping cart at the grocery store. I didn’t realize this til after noon on Saturday, which meant my bank was closed until Tuesday morning and I couldn’t do a damn thing about reporting it. Oh if it were debit card it’d be easy to shut it off, but nobody cares if you lose your checkbook on a holiday weekend. I felt instantly sick. There were even a few tears.

Sunday morning I woke and immediately had to go to the bathroom. I had caught a stomach bug somewhere and I think that combined with the anxiety I had over losing my checkbook did me in. I basically spent the rest of the day in bed. (And the bathroom.)

That night however, I got a phone call from an employee from the grocery store who found my coupon binder and checkbook! Yay. She was extremely nice on the phone, saying she got off work around midnight and saw it in a cart. She had forgotten to return it to the store’s office on Saturday, but she left it for me on Sunday.

So Memorial Day Monday we went back to the store and it took the office employee a few minutes to find it, but I was reunited with my stuff and nothing was taken. THANK GOD.

I called off work on Tuesday because of my stomach issues. I started to feel better though.

In other news, this girl has a Walt Disney World trip booked! Yay!

We are going the week before Thanksgiving, staying at the Art of Animation resort this time. We visited there on our last trip, but this will be the first time staying there. We are staying there 5 nights and then switching to an Epcot resort for the last 2 nights. Not sure which one yet, but I keep saying the Beach Club. Depends on the discount.

(The AoA Finding Nemo themed pool – I took this photo last September.)

This will also be the first time we will be there when it is decorated for Christmas. Our previous 2 trips have been decked out for Halloween. (My most favorite time of the year, but it’s time for a change!)

I’m already booking restaurants and all that fun stuff. Summer will fly by. It seems like a while til Thanksgiving, but I remember complaining that summer and warm weather would never get here too.

Many people end up spending more money at the store, trying to use up coupons on items they could do

Many people end up spending more money at the store, trying to use up coupons on items they could do without. Just stick to the items that were already on your list and you will save more!

Tips To Try When Finding And Using Coupons Use coupons whenever you can. When you use more of them, you save more money. It is the best way to create a stock of items you use often. If you’re going to use 6 coupons on something you get weekly, get 6 of that item all at the same time to use every coupon.

Although you can still find some great coupons in your Sunday paper, browsing the net for coupons is a much more reliable resource. Terrific coupons can be found online and used for things ranging from clothes to groceries. The greatest thing about online couponing is that you can avoid hours of clipping! Just print and go.

Good Tips On How To Save More With Coupons! Never shop without a list when using coupons. Also, have the coupons handy so you are able to mark it off the list. Write down the number of coupons you have for each item on your grocery list.

Save Some Money With These Great Coupon Tips! Use the grocery stores’ competition to save money. Many stores may be willing to accept competitor coupons. When you consider that, you can stop going to all different stores in order to save a few bucks. Don’t do too much traveling because your savings will be negated by the cost of fuel.

It’s all right to look through the recycling bin to find coupons that others have thrown away. Don’t get into the dumpster. Just put on gloves and an old shirt, and then stand outside the dumpster to search through discarded papers to find coupons. You will find that many people throw away their coupons without much thought.

There are some websites where you can buy or trade coupons. Maybe there is a deal on a coupon in which you can get something for free. Simply paying a couple dollars in order to obtain a huge quantity of an item can result in huge net savings whenever you checkout.

Learn what the coupon acronyms mean. For example, are you aware that ‘BOGO’ stands for “buy one & get one”? If a coupon says ‘MIR,’ that is the same as saying that you can mail in a form to get a rebate. Understanding these acronyms is critical to becoming a savvy shopper. If you aren’t aware of them, you may be missing out on increasing the coupon’s power or even on the deal itself.

You can purchase coupons on certain sites. There might be a coupon offer for which you could get free items. You could get an insane amount of discounts of you try and use coupons all of the time.

Look for blogs or websites that make it easy to aggregate coupons and offers from various retailers’ websites and ads. These are extremely useful in that they collect coupons in a centralized spot, making the process much more convenient.

This article has provided some great information about how to find coupons on the items you want and need.

Have you seen those people at checkout with tons of coupons and hoped that you could save like them?

Have you seen those people at checkout with tons of coupons and hoped that you could save like them? You can! By reading this article, you’ll get a lot of tips and tricks on how to use coupons to save you money next time you shop.

Use many coupons on an item if possible. By using several coupons, you can purchase more merchandise. That way, you can build reserves of the things you use most often. If you’ve collected five coupons for jelly, and your family eats it often, then buy five jars of it.

Use the competitive strategies of retailers to your advantage. Stores will often honor coupons from their competitors. When you consider that, you can stop going to all different stores in order to save a few bucks. Driving around a lot will increase your fuel cost and cancel out your coupon savings.

To get extra circulars from the Sunday papers, make inquiries with the publisher about couponer’s price breaks. Some offer them for about a buck a pop if you order at least five copies of the Sunday edition.

Plan out what coupons you are going to use, as opposed to using every coupon you come across. To get more savings, wait for a sale on the item, then use your coupon along with the sale. This way, you can double your savings, making the item very cheap, and sometimes free!

Spend real time searching for coupons. This isn’t the easiest thing to do. You are going to have to put in some time, like it or not. If you’re serious about your couponing, schedule time for it. Allot yourself a half hour each day to finding and clipping coupons.

You can shop at dollar stores to save a lot of money on a few items. If you find an item at a local dollar store that you have a coupon for, you can save even bigger. These are usually products that are overstocked and delivered to “low end” retailers to recoup production costs. This will be to your advantage because you will save from the already discounted price.

There is nothing wrong with searching for coupons to save some money. You don’t actually have to go digging through trash! A quick look through the recycling pile can often turn up an abundance of coupons. Many people do not use coupons and simply toss them out.

Prior to buying anything online, check to see if coupons are available. Use a major search engine and search for “coupon retailer name”. You will be able to find any deals that they may be offering, along with the proper code to redeem them. You could obtain a specific percentage off or even free shipping from the retailers, as long as you’re using the right coupon code whenever your order is placed.

Ways To Use Coupons Efficiently And Effectively A great tip for anyone who uses coupons frequently is to store your coupons somewhere where you won’t forget them whenever you head out the door. Many times people forget their coupons; however, if you keep them with you, you will never be without them.

Great Coupon Advice That Can Work For You! Set aside time for coupon clipping or printing. When you are trying to save money with coupons, it is best that you take the time to learn how to use them. Schedule time for your couponing if you are truly serious about the endeavor. Allot at least 30 minutes per day to look for and cut out coupons.

Always take advantage of the savings that coupons offer. It’s a great feeling when you save money from the coupons you use. Utilize the tips and techniques shown above for maximum savings.
Save Money On Everyday Items By Using Coupons
