Tears of blood fell when Pakistani commandos stormed Lal Masjid, no one exactly knows how many innocent were massacred, how many were buried in darkness of night and what is the real truth.

In the days leading up to the storming of the Red Mosque, Al Jazeera’s Rageh Omaar gained exclusive access. He and his team were the last TV crew inside the mosque before the siege began and filmed the last interview with Abdul Rashid Ghazi, one of the mosque’s leaders, before his death.

This report was aired on July 27, 2007 by Jazeera TV:

With tears of blood in eyes, we do not know it is the end or just the beginning of new chapters because in the eyes of secular elites all seeking implementation of Shariah are terrorists.

Let us pray that Allah bless shuhoda-e-lal masjid particularly Maulaza Abdul Rasheed Ghazi (shaheed), may Allah guide Pakistanis and all Muslims to right path.

I was thinking the other day, “you know what this state needs? It’s more public groping.” Well lucky

I was thinking the other day, “you know what this state needs? It’s more public groping.” Well lucky day, lucky day, Colin Barnett has decided to make that a reality. Mr Barnett has decided to give police the power to stop and search anyone, without probable cause, in designated areas. These areas will include entertainment precincts, like Northbridge and Fremantle, as well as beaches, like Mullaloo and Scarborough.

I can imagine Tourism WA’s new ad campaign. There will be smiley faces of families walking down the beach, through the city shopping, down along Northbridge towards a restaurant for dinner and dad will get stopped, pushed up against the wall, legs spread, as a smiling police officer pads him down in front of his shocked wife and kids, the screen will fade to black and the tag line will say “Come to WA, you’re safe in OUR hands”

“There will be cries of infringement of civil liberties but we make no apologies if we give law abiding people, families and young women, the freedom to go to places without fear for their safety,” Mr Barnett said.

Yes Colin, I’m a sure every young woman going out wants to be touched by police officers. I’m sure they’ll all be feeling much safer in the knowledge that the fingers of justice are abreast with the situation.

The biggest concern is if we don’t have fight for these basic human rights now, where does it stop? Under the proposed laws search areas will have a designated time and place. If the law passes how long will it be until the police won’t be limited to designated times and places? How about in your homes? What if Colin Barnett decides “law abiding people, families and young women” are so terrified that he will give the police designated suburbs, which they can enter homes, search people and all of their possessions, just in case a person might be breaking a law.

To the people who might say “If you’re not breaking any laws then you have nothing to worry about?” Well what about the humiliation of being searched in the street by the police like a criminal? Surely people who aren’t breaking the law do no want to be treated like criminals?

To find criminals the police should be conducting investigations; they should be finding facts to prove which people are committing crimes and then searching those people. If there isn’t enough police to do this work then hire some more. I for one do not want to live my life in fear that one day I might be detained, probed and prodded by a person in the street.

AUSTRALIA has delivered a blunt message to India that it is selling education, not visas, even as th

AUSTRALIA has delivered a blunt message to India that it is selling education, not visas, even as the Rudd government deploys its most senior ministers to patch up relations damaged over a series of Indian student assaults.

Trade Minister Simon Crean, whose visit to India this week overlaps that of Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard, outlined to the Confederation of Indian Industry yesterday federal government measures to crack down on shonky education and training providers in Australia.

But he said the crackdown could be successful only if similar action were taken in India to close down shonky education and immigration agents running scams to secure permanent Australian residency through student visas.

“Let’s be clear, we are offering a quality education in a safe environment,” Mr Crean said yesterday. “The quality of our education is what we are promoting, not the visa attached to it.

“For this to succeed, we also need the co-operation of the Indian government. The fact that politicians in both countries have been forced to focus on the issue improves the odds of coming up with a better system.”

Ms Gillard is understood to have delivered a similar message during meetings with Indian Human Resources Development Minister Kapil Sibal and, late on Tuesday night, with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, where greater engagement between the two countries on defence, energy and climate change were also discussed.

Mr Crean denied Australia’s international education industry needed to be remarketed in India, despite the fact it is widely seen — and in some areas promoted — as a pathway to permanent residency.

But he conceded better co-operation between Australian government agencies was also needed to help stem student visa abuses.

What the student issue has done is shed a light on the importance of interaction between Austrade, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and those that market our services in the Department of Education, Employment and Work Relations in the protection of our brand,” he said yesterday.

In just eight days, India will have hosted three of Australia’s most senior politicians, Mr Crean, Ms Gillard and Wayne Swan.

By the end of the year, a total of eight Australian ministers will have graced Indian soil.

The ministerial offensive is aimed at patching bilateral relations, damaged by a recent series of attacks on Indian students in Australia, as well as building trade relations with the emerging Asian superpower.

Mr Crean, who is in India for a two-day meeting of G20 trade ministers ahead of the next Doha round of WTO talks in Pittsburgh later this month, said Australia’s trade relationship with India had historically been “underdone”.

The ministerial visits — which will culminate in a tour by Kevin Rudd later this year — were designed to correct that.

“We understand the fundamental importance of India to our future, just as we do China and the rest of Asia. This is going to be the fastest-growing region in the world for the next couple of decades, it is the place to be,” he said. “Australia fortunately positioned itself for that a couple of decades ago but we have to renew the effort.

“Obviously, if there is a hiccup in the relationship, as there has been here over student safety, of course we have to address it. Visits here are an important part of that.”

Canberra hopes that a successful culmination of the Doha talks — aimed at reducing international trade barriers — will help accelerate free trade agreement negotiations between Australia and India, still at the feasibility stage.

It was also concentrating on building trade ties in infrastructure and energy security areas, with particular focus on investments in gas and coal.

Mr Crean denied that Australia’s refusal to sell uranium to India — a non-signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty — would hurt the progress of the talks, despite Mr Singh again raising the issue during his meeting with Ms Gillard.

Shopping centres in Perth are handing out cards warning youths they could be banned from the venues

Shopping centres in Perth are handing out cards warning youths they could be banned from the venues in a bid to crack down on antisocial behaviour.

Security guards at Westfield’s Innaloo, Carousel and Whitford City centres also carry photographs of those already banned.

The youth cards introduced at the beginning of the year were not a punishment and were available to all members of the public on request.

The cards warned teenagers what behaviour was expected of them, how they could expect to be treated by security guards and the consequences of antisocial behaviour — including bans of 24 hours to six months.

Youths are encouraged at the centres but they should not detract from other people’s safety or comfort. Currently there are no serious problems with youths at the shopping centres.

Security guards carried photographs of banned youths so they could be easily recognised if they returned before permitted.

Ms Laschon said shopping centres were a natural, safe meeting place for people of all ages. She said the conditions of Westfield’s youth cards should apply to all shoppers.

“The whole idea of screaming at the top of your voice and running around happens with lots of people at the beginning of sale time. It’s not only teenagers that get excited,” she said.

AMP Capital Shopping Centres communication manager Scott Gillespie said the company’s Karrinyup, Garden City and Ocean Keys complexes did not have a similar system in place.

This will be a very short post because I am damned tired today. I got lots done but am still at the office quite late and I am beat…

I want to say that it seems to me that our government is far too quiet on Iran right now and our citizens don’t seem so eager to push either. Iran’s neighbors have definitely been closed lipped and so have the other “powers” (Russia, China, etc.) It seems for once the European countries are showing more cojones on this issue than we are. And I partially blame our short-term thinking on this. The week before last there was a red hot fever pitch going on, almost a flash point. Neda had been killed and the whole world gasped at the brutality going on. The entire Iranian plebecite seemed to be turning against the government. But we all played the waiting game and stood by while Ahmadinejad persisted in applying his pressure, some officially and the more brutal side of it unofficially, and while he did that Ahmadinejad finally got the break that he needed…

Michael Jackson died.

Yep. When Michael Jackson died most of us concerned Americans back home and around the world moved on to the next. I see this as being part and parcel to the fact that we Americans have been losing freedom after freedom without a fight. First under the Bush Administration and now under the Obama Administration. I suppose that if we can’t be bothered to really fight for our own rights then it would be expected that Iran’s plight would lose our attention when the King of Pop passes away unexpectedly.

The opportunity that we are losing is humongous. Iran is not only a major agitator in the volatile Middle East but they also border Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. They are major backers of Hezbollah in Lebanon and to Shiite militias in Iraq. Iran is working on nuclear capabilities against the wishes of nearly the entire planet and their leaders publicly state that Isreal should be wiped from the face of the planet. A change of government there at this point and time could only be a good thing. I will say that Iran was a bit more of a flash point when George W. Bush was still alive but their incredibly flawed election should have been giving an opportunity for us to do much more for their opposition. Instead the extent of the Obama government’s support has been to ask Twitter not to close for two hours scheduled maintanence.

As a Libertarian I get this terrible helpless feeling. Nobody wants this. How did we get disinterested so quickly? And why are we again letting such a golden opportunity slip through our hands.

The Migration Institute of Australia supports calls for a Senate Inquiry into international education in Australia.

The sector deserves closer scrutiny by government, including an attempt to crack down on education agents here and overseas who, unlike migration agents, can act without regulation. It is an industry too valuable to be hijacked by illegal and unethical behaviour by either desperate visa seekers or unscrupulous operators.

If migration agents are involved they will be barred from the profession. This behaviour is not tolerated in the migration profession. Students who need immigration or visa advice should only rely on registered migration agents.

Once arriving here, international students deserve the wholehearted support of the Australian community and it is loathsome that those seeking an education may be targeted by violent offenders. We can’t let a valuable Australian educational experience be tainted by the shocking behaviour of the few.

Fertility doctors are worried they will be under pressure to implant multiple embryos into women who

Fertility doctors are worried they will be under pressure to implant multiple embryos into women who cannot afford ongoing treatment due to new financial safety net caps, a leading IVF specialist says

Having two embryos implanted into the uterus instead of one raises a woman’s chance of having a multiple birth, says IVF Australia chairman Professor Michael Chapman.

As part of Medicare Safety Net restrictions unveiled in Tuesday’s budget, payments for IVF will be capped at different rates for each stage of treatment once a person reaches the safety net threshold for out-of-pocket medical expenses, which is $1,111.60, or $555.70 for those on low incomes.
This could hit women with an extra $1,500 to $2,000 of out-of-pocket costs per IVF cycle.

There are also caps on safety net payments in other areas including obstetrics, varicose vein and cataract surgery.

Under the changes, pregnant women who choose to see a private obstetrician will be out of pocket by $550 unless doctors lower their fees.

“That is why the government is urging women to question their doctors about their fees,” Health Minister Nicola Roxon said.

An average of $4.5 million of taxpayers’ money is paid to the top 10 per cent of IVF specialists each year.

But Prof Chapman said the government, which says it wants to crack down on specialists who charge exorbitant fees, was using the figures for political gain.

“For every doctor that gets money, there are 10 staff members, the scientists, counsellors and nurses, they get funded through the rebate,” he told AAP.

Prof Chapman said he accepted there had been a 40 per cent rise in IVF fees over the past five years but said that it was in line with general medical inflation.

Current Medicare rebates, which work out to about $4,200 per child, go towards employing about 2,000 people in private IVF clinics nationally and investing in research and facilities, Prof Chapman said.

He estimated out-of-pocket costs for patients would rise from $1,600 to between $3,000 and $3,500 when the safety net caps come into effect on July 1, 2010.

It can often take more than one IVF cycle for a woman to fall pregnant.

“Certainly, patients are going to be more out of pocket for IVF than they have been in the past,” Prof Chapman said.

He warned doctors would be under pressure to implant more than one embryo per cycle into women as a result of safety net restrictions, increasing the chance of multiple births.

“Over the last five years in Australia the twin rate has dropped dramatically because we have been able to put one embryo back,” he said.

“But if patients think they won’t be able to afford the next cycle they will put a lot of pressure on the doctor to put two embryos back.”

Ms Roxon said her department would work with medical professionals to restructure the system to better reflect stages in a treatment cycle.

A group of MPs from the opposition Democrat Party yesterday proposed a draft legislation that would penalise people making defamatory remarks or contemptuous tones against the monarchy on the Internet or via computers.

The proposed law would also punish those who wrongly accuse or attempt to frame up others of such a wrongdoing.

The Democrats’ move followed an increase in content on the Internet deemed defamatory or in contempt of the monarchy.

The law’s proponents explained that at present there is no law that deals with offenders of lese majeste through modern electronic means, such as on Internet websites and in computer systems.

Under the proposed law, anyone putting inaccurate content about the monarchy on the Internet or a computer system faces a jail term of between three to 20 years or a fine ranging from Bt200,000 to Bt800,000.

Those uploading defamatory or contemptuous content about the monarchy face an imprisonment of five to 20 years or a fine of between Bt300,000 to Bt800,000.

The law will also punish anyone falsely accusing others of such wrongdoings, with imprisonment of three to 20 years and a fine ranging from Bt200,000 to Bt800,000.

The law also seeks to punish people hiring others to do the job for them, the Internet service provider or computer system administrator who fails to cooperate, as well as repeat offenders.

Democrat MP Piraphan Saliratviphak, the main proponent of the new legislation, earlier proposed amendments to the Penal Code and the Computer Act provisions regarding lese majeste.

Three senate panels resolved that the government and police were guilty of violating human rights during the violent crackdown against protesters led by the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) on October 7.

Senate committee on human rights, freedom and consumer protection chairman Somchai Sawaengkarn on Tuesday said the crowd dispersal on October 7 left over 400 people injured and two deaths, and the violent measures could be avoided. Officials can use other ways to enter the parliament or the meeting can be postponed or relocated, he noted.

“The committee sees that the incident has reflected the guilty party’s lack of discretion and their inappropriateness of using weapons to disperse the gathering,” said the senator.

He said the actions carried out by the police followed the cabinet’s resolution on October 6 to allow the government to announce its policy at the parliament as scheduled. Therefore, the government and the Royal Thai Police must be responsible for the damage done.

“Police officers did not negotiate with the protesters but instead used tear-gas canisters and rubber bullets against them, causing many injuries. Their acts infringed the Declaration of Human Rights and were more than necessary,” said Mr Somchai.

As for the government’s measures to aid the injured and families of the deceased, he said the panels considered that the budget of 56 million baht for the victims allocated by the government was not appropriate and fair. With this budget, the panels feared that it could exacerbate the situation in the future.

From bizjournals.com Classified ad service Craigslist will crack down on postings advertising prosti

From bizjournals.com

Classified ad service Craigslist will crack down on postings advertising prostitution or “erotic services” as part of a set of changes endorsed by attorneys general in some 40 states.

The San Francisco business also sued 14 software and service providers, saying in part that they claim to offer help evading Craigslist’s rules about illegal activity.

California was not listed as one of the 40 states in the deal, but CEO Jim Buckmaster said the new rules would apply everywhere people use Craigslist.

Under new rules, anyone posting an “erotic services” ad will have to give credit card information and pay a small fee. That credit card information will be verified and given to law enforcement if required by subpoena.

Although Craigslist emphasized efforts to crack down on human trafficking and child exploitation in its statement Wednesday about the changes, the area of the site likely to feel the effects most profoundly is the “erotic services” section, where legal ads are posted.

“We’re not looking to crack down in any sense on legal activity. Legal activity includes advertisements for escort services, massage services — the kind of ads we’ve seen for years in newspapers and yellow pages,” Buckmaster told the San Francisco Business Times.

The new credit card and payment rule “will apply across the board to postings in that category. Legitimate businesses don’t have a problem with that,” Buckmaster said.

The changes won’t affect the site’s popular personal ads section, which some people use to seek dates or sexual liaisons. “As long as the postings don’t run afoul of the law, we don’t have a problem with them,” Buckmaster said.

Under this deal, Craigslist will also put tags on erotic services ads that will show up in parental screening software. It will also make it easier for its users — some 40 million of them every month — to flag inappropriate or illegal ads so they can be taken down.

It will also look into software that might be able to block uploads of certain images and which will screen out euphemisms used for illegal advertising.

Fashion police at the Beijing Olympics have ordered men to steer clear of white socks with black shoes and advised women to shun leather skirts.

Residents of the city should also shirk embarrassing public displays of affection and fighting over who settles the bill after dinner and avoid garlic.

Rules produced by Chinese officials on what to wear and how to behave stretch out over 36 pages in official booklets and cover nine web pages. They go from general tips, like combing hair appropriately for age to minutiae details such as women with thick ankles wearing darker stockings to disguise their imperfections.

Women get specific fashion advice to avoid common fashion faux-pas, such as matching the length of their skirt to their age and not wearing more than three colours in their oufit. Men on the other hand seem to get more basic advice, including not sporting pyjamas in public, not going out with a bare chest and not rolling up their trouser legs.

While some style recommendations do not need explanations – fat people should avoid horizontal stripes – other tips have their reasoning spelt out: “Clothes should not be too small, otherwise this makes people feel you are unreliable” .

The how-to in the style stakes has been handed out by the Capital Spiritual Civilisation Construction Commission. Beijing will be under the spotlight during the Olympic Games and the Commission are keen that the city’s 15 million residents dress and act impeccably.

Tampa, FL - The Southern Party of Florida today called for Southern authorities to crack down on illegal aliens. The party also demanded that Southern authorities go out and round up the illegals that have been participating in fairly large rallies across Dixie since the communist holiday of May Day began late last week.

Party leaders since May 1st have been very vocal in their outrage over the impunity the illegals have been allowed to exercise, and the out right refusal by both the Federal and State authorities to do their jobs.

According to FBI statistics, illegal immigrants in the United States are 85% Mexican with the remaining 15% coming from Canada, Europe, and Latin America. Also according to FBI statics, illegal immigrants have killed 12 Americans a day since 1984 when the study began. If one does the math, this puts the current death toll currently at 60,480 give or take a few hundred since 1984, and to make matters worse this year alone we will loose another 4,320 Americans to illegals.

Okay here is my two cents… I personally find it shocking that these liberals are throwing a fit over 4,000 dead US troops, which is bad don’t get me wrong, but they don’t give a crap that illegals kill more then that in one single year… Bunch of hypocrites!

Okay back on track… The Southern Party of Florida is equally outraged over this and has stated repeatedly that once they get into a situation of power in state government that they will make Florida the most inhospitable place on earth for illegals to be, and the safest for Southerners to live.

This anti-illegal policy has drawn some attacks recently from local citizens fear full that an all out war on illegals will cause food prices to surge even higher then they have already due to the gas crisis. Party leaders have countered this unfounded fear by stating that farmers have the ability to purchase farm equipment to replace illegals. These modern marvels can cheaply harvest almost any type of fruit or vegetable in a fraction of the time, and at a fraction of the cost when compared to the current illegal system.

Party leaders have also stated that besides cracking down on illegals, the party would call on law enforcement to crack down equally hard on businesses that employ illegals with stiff penalties for first time abusers and jail time for repeat offenders.

Many Americans and Southerners are ignorant as to the goals of the illegals whom seek to reclaim what they view as their land (Aztland) by over populating the South Western States and killing off as many natives as possible. In Mexican colleges and schools they teach their youth that America stole this make believe land called “Aztland” from them, and that if they (Mexicans) want it back then they must go take it.

The SPFL asks all Floridians to join our cause, we are the only party that can fix this massive problem. The Democrats support giving illegals the right to vote, the Republicans support blanket amnesty for all illegals, and the Libertarians support both. You need to wake up now before you are replaced with cowardly Mexicans whom will do what ever the big two parties and the government wants, your current leaders are working real hard to make sure that your voice is silenced in preparation of the new North American Union which is currently under development; don’t say we did not warn you…

Crackdown. “The severe or stern enforcement of regulations, laws, etc., as to root out abuses

Crackdown.

“The severe or stern enforcement of regulations, laws, etc., as to root out abuses or correct a problem.”

“An act or example of forceful regulation, repression, or restraint: a crackdown on crime. “

Many countries in the world are plagued with civil unrest ranging from petty vandalism during demonstrations or political activism to full-scale civil war fought by militias. The Kingdom of Denmark has – until recently – not been one of these countries. We are a small, generally well-run kingdom, inhabited almost entirely by the eponymous Danes who were generally a very moderate people. The 1930s saw clashes between political groups, but more along the lines of rather violent brawls. Perhaps the worst were the attempts of police and gendarmes to repress socialists, Bolsheviks and union ring leaders in the late 1800s.

In any case – the state of affairs is generally pacific. I am sure one might be able to conjure up examples to the contrary, but the lingering impression – the general perception of the past – is of a peaceful time and a peaceful nation. We haven’t fought a war since 1864, besides mining our territorial waters during WW1 and a brief spouts of (civilian, illegal) resistance to the German occupation 1940-1945. We even call our soccer hooligans roligans (“calm-igans”). The veracity of this perception is open to debate. Its existence, less so.

Many Danes take pride in this and even though we love to laugh at our selves – even sarcastically at times, and even though it’s sometimes tinged with that leftist distaste for all things patriotic and domestic – we stick to this ideal. “American conditions” is a cliché that conjures up images of strife, racial tensions, poverty, poor working conditions, but also opulence, glamorous lifestyles (but not elegant lifestyles) and generally a view of a disharmonious society whose wealth has had a price. Many people probably share this view of the United States but here in Denmark, merely mentioning amerikanske tilstande sends a chilly shiver dancing down most peoples’ spines. We want our harmonious society. We might be as rich (though we sort of think we are anyway, since we have welfare checks and which of course doesn’t exist in the States, where, as we of course all know, the options are either living like Paris Hilton or in the gutter).

Let’s not get into the exaggerations and distortions about the United States. I’ll leave that to another entry. This issue here is about civil unrest. Anarcho-bums have been rioting in waves for the last year and a half, following their eviction from the house they had beens squatting in. Since then they struck again and again, setting the city ablaze and protesting police brutality, while they pelt police with cobblestones and molotov cocktails. Instead of keeping their brats at home, the parents of these disgusting criminals took to the streets with video cameras trying to document police brutality. It was absolutely ridiculous and made me want to gag. Then, immigrant youths decided to set hundreds of fires, attack the police and emergency services and then have to audacity to complain about racism!

Call me conservative, but racism in my opinion is supposed to be a reaction to prejudices : negative preconceptions : not sound, regretful acceptance of facts after the fact. The sheer hypocrisy of trying to fight preconceived notions by fulfilling every fear and anxiety anyone might have is just unfathomable.

Unless we see a serious crackdown on leftist and immigrant crime, we’re going to see a future with even more fires, even less security and even less of the tolerance that the leftists are asking for.

We need some strong leadership and for someone to say to extortionist commie pigs that unless they shut up, sit down, put down the rock and get the hell off of private property, we’ll slap them in the face with anti-riot legislation so harsh they’ll be too -ahem- afraid to even sneeze at a police officer at a demonstration.
