Every online marketer and entrepreneur out there has discovered Craigslist. We’ve seen the thousands of ads and the literally billions of pageviews and we’ve thought, “jackpot!” But for most of us, the jackpot has proven somewhat illusory. Yes, almost every ad you put on CL gets attention – readers, viewers, customers. And yes, the cost to get an ad up is near zero – just a question of your time, which can be minimal with a well-organized clipboard and a set of templates.

Yet almost nobody has made it really work. The reason? ….read more

You can advertise or find advertisements in the major cities of Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia.

Craigslist is EspañolPrecisamente in English and in Spanish-speaking cities such as Buenos Aires and Mexico City where Craigslist has begun offering the option of seeing their ads in English or Spanish. Although still not available in cities like Los Angeles, San Antonio, or Miami, which are cities with large concentrations of people speaking Spanish, it seems that Craigslists is beginning to put more emphasis on our language.

Step 1: Go to Gmail (www.gmail.com), then click on Sign up for Gmail, once you have created your account, go to Settings and click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP , then click on Forwarding: Forward a copy of incoming mail to email address, in the email address box add your primary email address you always use and click Save Changes, the new email address you just created will forward all messages to your primary account

Step 2: Set up craigslist account(s), go to www.craigslist.com and click on My Account, nter Email / Handle: and Password, when it says Your account needs to be authenticated by phone, enter in your number, craigslist will sent your phone a confirmation code to finish setting up the account, to get another account you need to repeat the process with another

2. Open up a free image hosting account at Photobucket, Craigslist uses ebots that scan ads for similar text and when they find one they FLAG or delete it. One way around this is to create ads as images. Craigslist ebots cannot see text saved as an image. You can very easily convert text to an image file (jpeg) at http://convert.neevia.com, once you have converted the text to image file, copy and the HTML Code into the craigslist ad Body. very simple

3. Using a different IP address will prevent Craigslist from bumping your ad. Your IP Address is a string of numbers based on the exact location of your computer and internet connection. Use the computer’s of your family members, roommates, or a local library

4. Write multiple headlines for your ad. Try different buzz words, like; free, new, fun, attention, stop, etc, for example: Stop: Realtors Make 10k a Month!!

5. Avoid hyperlink to your website. This a great way to get flagged instantly. Put the domain name as text without www. or put it into an image.

6. Match your headline to the corresponding category you are posting to. Don’t try to sell a surfboard in the jobs categories

It does however take a little bit of time and money to do some marketing and attract new customers.

In a recent discussion with a friend trying to start a services-based company, he figured it would be easiest to connect with potential customers online. As an SEO guy, I told him he was right, but that it would be difficult in a competitive space to build a site from scratch and hope to compete with long established companies. That’s not to say that I wasn’t hard headed enough to try it, but we had to be realistic from the start.

With little or no budget outside of building and hosting a site, we tried posting ads and links to the site from craigslist. Much to my surprise, it resulted in some phone calls!

Lesson learned: If you have no marketing budget. Give Craigslist a try, and don’t be afraid to post every day.

This will probably be the most candid and revealing post I’ve ever written. By the end, two things will never be the same…

Can You Read This?

If you barely can, imagine how hard it is for a computer? It’s called a CAPTCHA test, and I’m sure you are very familiar with it by now, it’s all over Craigslist.

The only 100% fool-proof way to pass a captcha (especially the really hard ones) is to be, well, a human.

Beware of dangerous OCR “solutions”

The new Craigslist captcha is so smart that if it detects your computer is trying to break it, it can block you permanently!

How EasyAd Poster Deluxe Wins

When Easy Ad Poster Deluxe encounters a captcha it does not know how to decode on its own, it sends it to a third-party service, where it’s solved by a real person for less than a penny!

This is known as “Outsourcing,” and not only will it save you time and money, it will change how you do business on Craigslist forever.

Effortless Craigslist Marketing

Timid about outsourcing? Try it out on me, for free.

1.) Grab a free copy of EasyAd Poster Deluxe.
2.) Grab a dirt cheap starter pack of captcha credits.
3.) Read the quick 1 Minute guide to captcha Outsourcing

I did something recently that I swore I’d never do. After nearly three years of turning down personal consultation offers worth tens of thousands of dollars, I agreed to be a trainer at CraigslistAcademy.com.

Allow me to explain…

I’ve seen every single training program for Craigslist that’s ever come out, read every e-book, watched every webinar. Most of them are laughable (you know what I’m talking about…). A very rare few are passable.

When I was approached by Sean (The Professor) in early 2007 about collaborating on a training program, I was a bit excited.

See, I’ve known Sean for a long time and his marketing expertise is second to none. He’s beaten me in every affiliate competition we’ve joined together! Many of the so-called Guru’s that you’ve already paid to learn from, have paid Sean thousands of dollars to consult them when they were stuck!

My decision to join CraigslistAcademy.com didn’t go unnoticed either. The developers of all the major Craigslist tools you use every day came with me. IPGreen, Auto Account Creator Pro, Exclusive Proxy, Trinova Marketing and more…

They’re all there.

If you want the definitive solution to eliminate ghosting and blocking. If you want to learn how to write ad copy that sells. If you want to learn the “psychology of flagging” and a myriad of invaluable Craigslist Marketing Axioms that have made us millions, then come where the real experts are.

I’ve gotten a ton of emails from people about Craigslist’s new Phone Verification system

I’ve gotten a ton of emails from people about Craigslist’s new Phone Verification system. So I wanted to clarify a few things and make sure you’re posting your ads and making profits!
What We Know

Phone Verification is here to stay. Craigslist proved the system works in Erotic Services. Since then it’s spread to services and we expect to see it in Jobs and Real Estate in the near future.

What Does This Mean For You?

It means you’ll need two things in order to post an ad on Craigslist.

1.) A Craigslist User Account and
2.) A Telephone Number to verify your account.

We all know we can create unlimited Craigslist User Accounts, but most of us only have one or two phone numbers.

What Can You Do?

While other people are gouging customers with Phone Verified Accounts as high as $15 dollars each, we’ve teamed up with Trinova to provide phone numbers and phone verfied Craigslist user accounts for as low as $2.50 per number!!

But get this….

For a limited time, Trinova has agreed to offer two new introductory package sizes of 5 and 10 accounts! These smaller packages are a much better fit for most of us who don’t post thousands of ads.

These new smaller package sizes also give you a chance to ‘test’ out the service and gain confidence that it works great and is easy to use.

I garauntee you, if they haven’t alraedy, your competition will be buying accounts to post more ads. Don’t lose your market edge….

http://www.ezadsuite.com/PhoneAccounts/Trinova

Need to post more ads in the Craigslist services section, but don’t have enough phone numbers?

Finally, A Solution To Craigslist Phone Verification is here.

I’m about to let you in on a huge tactical advantage… Currently, your competition can only post one or two ads every 48 hours. With your new Phone Verified Accounts, you will be able to reach a larger market.

Ok, here’s what you need to do:

1.) Remember, the marketing landscape has changed in services. You don’t need to top post in hundreds of cities. Most of your competition can’t post more than one ad per day.

2.) Choose your top performing cities and focus your marketing there.

3.) Acquire the appropriate number of accounts for your needs (1 post every 48hrs per account is optimal). Yes, you can post more, but don’t press your luck!

So, Where Do I Get My Phone Verified Accounts?

I’ve posted before about Craigslist flagging problems, ghosting (ads not showing up) and progr

I’ve posted before about Craigslist flagging problems, ghosting (ads not showing up) and programs to help with your Craigslist marketing efforts but something that I didn’t think to mention at the time – and thought might be an interesting tidbit for those of you who don’t know this, is that Craigslist literally has a flagging forum and an army of flaggers – I like to refer to these people as the ‘Big Brother of Craigslist’. They watch all!

These flaggers are in addition to your competition who will flag your ad to keep theirs at the top and try to dominate the business; or just PITA people who are just plain annoying.

The ‘Big Brother’ clan of Craigslist apparently watches ads that are posted and if they feel that any rule has been broken whatsoever they flag it- this includes multiple ads, ads they feel are miscategorized or feel are misleading, ads posted in caps, and a million other reasons – some maybe legit but many petty.

These watch dogs ban together and help each other flag. They will share the ad that they feel needs to be flagged and everyone joins in and flags it. It appears they literally have people that do this all day and all day – as if it’s their life. They take it way too seriously.

So what does this mean for you as a Craigslist marketer? It means that you have an army of people firing the flag button for any reason at all and often even for no good reason. It means that not only do you have a forum of people ready to take your ads down but you also have other marketers (your competition) having your ads removed using flagging software. And you even have some people who just have nothing better to do and find it to be fun.

Unfortunately, with all of these odds stacked against you, the only thing you can really do is fight back.

You can use a Craigslist Auto Ad Poster and Flagging Software that will automatically post your ads for you (and more) and you can use flagging software for your own needs.

Another handy tool I’ve blogged about under the Craigslist Marketing section is the Craigslist Auto Account Creator which is also an Email Account creator. You can click the links to read more about these pieces of software but basically this one creates as many Craigslist accounts as you want and also creates the corresponding emails to match the accounts.

— You highlight the account you want to use and click “login” to either login to the Craigslist account or the email account. You can also use this tool to create just email accounts if you want. (hint – you can forward all of the emails accounts (or some) to one or more main email accounts so you don’t have to check them all). I really love this thing and use it faithfully. Having different accounts allows me to post as many times as I want really because I can just use different accounts – or you can use certain accounts for different campaigns.

I use both of those tools to successfully manage many Craigslist campaigns and stay ahead of the wolf pack!

Craigslist will probably never take care of the flagging abuse and problems so all you can do is arm yourself with the proper tools.

If you have posted a Craigslist ad and it’s not showing up, even though the status is ‘p

If you have posted a Craigslist ad and it’s not showing up, even though the status is ‘published’, your ad has been “ghosted”.

Craigslist does this if its system labels you a spammer. This makes spammers think their ads have been posted but really they’re not. Most big-time spammers won’t take the time to actually look to see if their ad is listed.

I’ve seen several explanations for the algorithm used to determine someone is a spammer from the amount of html code used to the number of ad posted.

Now all of your ads are being ghosted. So how do you get your account out of this status? It’s not easy. There are a few things you need to do.

go to your account and delete as many of your currently published ads as possible, particularly any posted within 48 hours of each other

clear your browser cache, cookies, etc. – and do this each time or two you post ads from here on out

wait at least 48 hours before posting again

I found that changing your ip address helps too. There are several ways to do this, one way is to unplug your modem for a while…the amount of time varies with your provider. Or you can do a release/renew of your ip address through the command box.

If you have run into this problem, then you’re probably posting a lot of ads or posting fairly frequently. My suggestion is to purchase Craigslist Marketing/Advertising Software. It’s totally worth the investment to keep your Craigslist ad campaigns running smoothly and to avoid trying to undo ghosted accounts.

There are two programs I use.

One is a Craigslist Auto Account Creator that creates hundreds of Craigslist accounts (and the corresponding email addresses). You can read more about it here at my full review: Craigslist Auto Account Creator.

The other is a Craigslist Auto Ad Poster that comes with Ad Confirmer software and Craigslist Flagging software. It will auto post ads for you and confirm them; and you can auto flag ads with the flagging software. More detailed info in the full review here: Craigslist Auto Ad Poster and Craigslist Flagging Software.

These tools make it a lot easier to manage your ad campaigns and you can run tons of ads and campaigns easily and with a few clicks. This also helps immensely to avoid the dreaded Craigslist Ad Ghosting nonsense because you can use many different accounts.

Craigslist advertising is huge but you need some tricks up your sleeve to make the most of it. Managing Craigslist campaigns can be timely and aggravating unless you have the right tools.

I use Craiglist for all sorts of things and I use auto ad posting software to simplify that part of my marketing life. I use too many marketing methods to be able to spend hours and hours on any one. If you read most of my reviews, you’ve probably already figured out I LOVE “auto” products. There’s no way I could cover everything if I did it all manually.

This one is my favorite yet and I’ve tried a few.

It has/allows for:

unlimited ad campaigns

allows for creation of hundreds of ad variations in no time

ad organization

hidden codes that make your ads appear unique each time

automatic updates and support

and more.

They also give you the Confirmer Tools and Ad Remover Tools that will:

flag ads you choose

confirm all of your ad posts for you

Find out more about it below – you can read more details, etc. on their own page. I’m off to “auto” do some stuff LOL.

****NOTE – this fabulous product has been discontinued =( I’m in the process of testing out two other programs that do the same thing and will report back with recommendations.

You can still use the other products listed under the Craigslist Marketing category.

————————————————————————————————-

If you use Craigslist or just needs lots of email addresses for marketing – read on!

You can now automatically
CREATE HUNDREDS OF CRAIGSLIST ACCOUNTS and their corresponding Gmail or Yahoo accounts in seconds!
with a few clicks!

You can even JUST create tons of email accounts for marketing needs if you want – with no Craigslist accounts.

Craigslist is an ever-growing site and an excellent site to advertise and market on. All types of services and products are advertised on Craigslist. Craigslist gets about 10 million unique visitors per day and is the largest online classified ad site IN THE WORLD.

Sometimes we need a number of accounts for different reasons. You may use different accounts for different things and Craigslist has gotten pretty tough on their spamming rules. Oftentimes ads that aren’t spam are flagged and this can cause a negative affect on your account.

Craigslist does this thing called “ghosting” ads which make it look like your ads are being posted but they’re really NOT! And believe me, it’s a PITA to get your account out of that status.

Along comes a Craigslist Auto Account Creator which automatically creates as many accounts as you want it to. It creates Gmail/Yahoo email accounts to match each CL account and assigns the logins and passwords to both automatically. It’s so awesome. (You can forward the email from each account to a specific account if you like so you don’t have to worry about checking all those!)

Just a few of the programs features are:

make just email accounts without Craigslist accounts for your marketing needs

can use proxy servers

allows you to choose the length and details of account names

set up email forwarding, filtering and POP3 access in Gmail accounts automatically

log in to your email or Craigslist accounts automatically

automatically clears cookies between each account or when browsing – to keep from getting your accounts in trouble or your ads ghosted

posts ads to Cragslist 10x faster than manually

import/export function

And those are just a few of the features. I use this program and I love it. It has simplified that part of my marketing life unbelievably. It’s well worth the investment.

If you’re a serious marketer, you must have this in your arsenal.

Dominate Craigslist The Easy Way With Auto Account Creator

–>You can also read my post on the Craigslist Auto Ad Poster I like.
