Wow so after all the drama with Rihanna I was wandering when he’s ever make a return but it seems like it was worth the wait!
I’ve heard a few of his new songs and they are ALL definitely up there with my fave songs atm.
The first one, ‘Transform Ya’ ft. Lil Wayne and Swizz Beats.
Dont really need to say much about this, pretty much says it all! I do like seeing him dance again though!

The next one, ‘Crawl’. Wow- well his vocals in this song are amazing…because of his uptempo stuff you almost forget he actually has this voice. Gotta say though, not really feeling Cassies’ hair like this…

And finally, ‘So Cold’…again, its good to hear his voice this way. Can’t help but think about him singing about Rihanna in this though lol.

For years, I have had the same recurring dream. It starts out with me crawling through a tunnel of rock. It is long, convoluted and tight to the point of claustrophobia in places, but I am determined to keep going.  I don’t know what waits for me at the end, I only know I can’t go back – going forward is the only option now.

I wake from this dream feeling unsettled, as if I need to finish something. I never like the dream, but in an odd way, I often look forward to it because maybe the next time I’ll make it to the end of the tunnel, maybe I’ll find out what waits for me at the end.

I haven’t had the dream in a long time, until just recently, but I think I know why. I have ventured into the unknown. I have entered the world of publishing. For years, getting published has been my Holy Grail. That one thing I looked for above all else and now finally hold, at least virtually, in my hand. The experience has been almost surreal.

After years of doing nothing but writing and re-writing, offering my precious words up for sacrifice on workshops and to beta readers, and then more time spent writing query letters (a special hell all in itself); I almost became immune to rejection letters. It got to the point where I would scan to the first few words and then hit delete. We regret, I’m sorry, and the ever popular, I’m just not that enthusiastic about it, but maybe someone else will be, clogged my inbox on almost a daily basis. I once got a one word reply to a query- NO- short and to the point.

So, when I got the acceptance from my publisher, Lyrical Press, it almost didn’t register. It was that single E-mail that started me on my journey and much like my journey through the tunnel, I had no idea what waited for me on the other side, I  only knew that things were put into motion and I had to find out what waited for me at the end.

The first thing I encountered was familiar—waiting. After months, sometimes years of waiting for replies from would-be agents, waiting was something I was used to.  But this wait was not long. I was introduced to my editor. This is probably one of the most important relationships you will ever foster. Much like a marriage, it is vital that the author and editor are simpatico. Unlike any critter, or beta reader, your editor will look at your work under a microscope. Every word, every phrase, every mark better be perfect. Things you never thought of will be brought to your attention. Mistakes you thought you corrected will make you hit your forehead and say Doh!

If you are really lucky, like I was, you will get an editor that not only knows her job, but tempers her corrections with praise and compliments. One that will let your own voice shine through. One that will not let you get lost in the whole process. (Thanks, Pamela!)

Treat your editor, oh, I don’t know, like a god maybe? Respect them and what they can do for you. They can make the great story you have already written, fantastic! My published book is far better than the one I submitted to Lyrical.

It has been quite the ride and it isn’t through yet. I am still crawling through the tunnel, trying to find out what waits for me on the other side. I still wake feeling unsettled, but I have managed to gain more ground than I ever did before. There might even be a small light shining at the end of it. I’ll let you know when I get there.

Is it just me or is Chris Brown’s song ‘Crawl’ a new hit? Although we all know Chris’ exposure of supposedly “bad publicity” (with Rihanna and the physical abuse), I think as an artist he’s here to stay. Well, at least for the time being. I can’t believe I’m openly sharing this, but I’ve listened to this song at least several times in a single day. Pretty horrible, but I just love it.

I know. I know. Chris Brown is the bad guy.

I dunno. I like this song. And I like the video. But that could be because I’m a hopeless romantic who believes in second chances, and redemption and the spiritual journey and the idea of becoming one with the person you love in an “us-against-the-world” battle to save what you believe in most: each other. I know. So lame, but hey, I’m a girl. And really, that’s all that every girl is looking for (though we know that it doesn’t exist…)

(This of course, doesn’t mean that I’d in any way be OK with getting back with a man who hits you. Just saying.)

I think Andrew took this one easy. Even though Scott’s got a voice that’s arguably better suited for this song he didn’t flip it as nicely. Plus the singing in the car thing was kinda off-putting. But that’s just me… who do you think had the better cover?

There is an awesome movie from during the summer called The Proposal. In the middle of the movie, the Gammy is chanting in the forest and Margaret joins her. Margaret ends up singing some rap song and shaking her ass like crazy. It instantly became an inside joke between my friends and I after we watched it. I wanted to know what the song is, and I’m sure plent of others want to know. The song is Get Low by Lil’Jon and the Eastside Boyz. Lemme see you all get low. You scared!

I know he had his missteps with Rihanna but you simply cannot deny his fancy footwork in this video in JUMPs.  It’s like Taboo said, JUMPs are almost made for dancing.  The toe character, the strength of the rubber outsole and the sexiness perfectly lends itself to dancing.  And if this song is any indication, it certainly seems like Chris is remorseful for what happened.  Either way, the shoes look fly.

A song of redemption, Chris Brown’s “Crawl” can be interpreted as personal statement of which expresses remorse for his actions that transpired when he was dating his ex, Rihanna. The song is off his upcoming album, “Graffiti,” which is scheduled to hit stores on December 15th. It is through this slow ballad that Brown gets across a personal message acknowledging his transgressions last year. Although, the song is a clear indication of his regret, will it suffice to save his career and reputation? It will be interesting to see if this song- and album-will win back the hearts of his departed fans.

Once assault allegations went public in February of 2009, Brown lost the allegiance and respect from a large portion of his fan base as well as sponsors. While the artist did release a public statement shortly after the incident occurred to relay his sorrow and regret, his career path still seemed jeopardized.

However, when Chris Brown recently appeared on the Wendy Williams show for a live interview, he was received with a round of applause. On the show Brown seemed poised, articulate, and far from jaded. When asked how he was doing, Brown responded that he is merely working toward a better tomorrow and claimed the anger management classes he is currently enrolled in is just one of the many vehicles helping him reach his destination. The interview came to a close with the young artist vehemently communicating his enthusiasm about returning to his ultimate passion, making music. While Chris Brown may have struggled and fallen short in expressing remorse for his past actions, it may just be through his music that he finally opens up and achieves atonement.

Isn’t it funny how the only videos I’ve posted so far have been Chris Brown clips? I promise I’m about more than him [lol]. His stuff is just giving me life right now, and this past Friday the video for the second single off the highly anticipated Graffiti album, “Crawl”, was premiered via the Wendy Williams Show. I found that to be random as all get out, but hey who am I?

I wanted to wait until there was a clear quality clip available to post, so here it is for your viewing pleasure. I love this song, and I think the video is great. Team CB all day =)

Habituellement, je ne poste pas de clips dits “récents”. Par flemme, par volonté de ne pas tomber dans l’engrenage du post facile ou simplement parce qu’on les voit tous en même temps étant donné qu’ils sont partout sur Internet avant même que vous ayez fini de les regarder en entier. Mais cette fois ci, je trouvais rigolo, bien qu’évident, de mettre à la suite le “Crawl” de Chris Brown et le “Russian Roulette” de Rihanna (désolé pour la qualité plus que moyenne des players vidéos).

Si on met de côté le grain vraiment sublime (pas très évident pour le coup), le visage fabuleux de Cassie et le son efficace de “Crawl”, force est de contaster que Chris Brown vit surement mieux la rupture que Rihanna. Et si le message personnel est clair entre les Ike et Tina Turner de 2009, la volonté de surfer sur ce coup de pub aussi. Vraiment, les cainris sont trop forts.
