Hey everyone, so my daughters 4th birthday will be this Wednesday the 9th of December. Since it falls in the middle of the week and since my MIL was starting Chemo on Monday we decided to have Maddie’s little family party Sunday so everyone could be there

It was super fun, she is super cute, and super smart too her party theme was Strawberry Shortcake, we let the kids pick the theme from age 1 basically whatever they like they get party wise.

So I made her a birthday card with the Strawberry from Indie Art, I was lazy and it is not an open up card but I thought it was cute and she really liked it so that is all that matters.

I figured I would post some pics of it on here and see what all of you thought of it. Again it was cut out of Bazzil paper using the Strawberry from Indie Art on 8″, the Strawberry Shortcake image was printed out on my awesome new Epson Printer with the waterproof ink and then colored with Prismacolor markers. I have never colored with markers before I usually use Prismacolor pencils and a blender marker. I also used Sakura sparkle gel pens to write the sentiment.

This is a card I made last week. It features patterned paper from Joann’s Peppermint Forest stack and a Tree die-cut  from the Cricut cartridge, Paper Doll Dress Up. I accidentally forgot to pop-up the flaps in the tree until after I glued down my gems. So the Tree doesn’t look as nicely as it should. But lesson learned and I think the card turned out pretty cute!

We will set a date in January to get together and work on our months. Then we will sort them out and put together a complete year for everyone! Leave a comment to join!

Hey people! Just wanted to let ya’ll know about a project that we are starting in 2010,  a COOKBOOK! Here is my first entry, “Crab Dip”.  We are going to be starting this in Februray. January is Calendars so Februray is Cookbook. You don’t have to be local to be apart of this project, we would love to have you join, and we are trying to keep it simple! Here is the 411…

#1 Everybody must use a Creative Memories 8×8 Album. This is so we all know that our pages will fit in everybody’s albums. And with the page   protectors they work well in the kitchen if you splash on the page.

#2 Each month is a different “type”. Feb is “appetizers”, March could be “soups & salads”, April -”sides” and so forth. Make sure you put your name on each entry!

#3 You will need to make muti copies of the same recipe, so everyone in the project can have one. And don’t forget about one for you too!!! Please let me know by leaving a comment that you’d like to join so I can get your name on the list!

#4 You can make Monthly commitments. Say you want to do Feb and March, but something comes up and you just can’t do April, no prob. You can skip April and pick up with May.

#5 We will set a date to get together to exchange recipes, if you aren’t local then you can mail me your recipes and I will mail your news back after the exchange.

#6 We will be repeating some catagories, such as “sides”, “desserts” , “main dishes”.

So I’m thinkin its gonna be fun! And I’m looking forward to some yummie new recipes from my gal pals!!!!

¡Y que se me invierte el sueño!… y es horrible porque estas con el ojo pelón en la madrugada y eso de andar despierto a esas horas no trae nada bueno. Para mi el sueño invertido es sinónimo de que termino viendo en la TV cosas nada que ver.

A estas alturas de mi vida me duermo tranquilamente entre las 12 y la 1 am. y por lo regular teniendo en la televisión a “Esta Noche Tu Night” de la Mega TV.

Este programa fue una de mis revelaciones de TV del 2009 y si una de las invitadas es Magdalena la peluda, juren que aguanto casi todo el programa. Aparte me encanta que pueden tener de invitados hasta al hijo del vecino como a Gilberto Santa Rosa.

“Esta Noche Tu Night”

No se porque, pero creo que yo me sentiría como en casa en Pollo Manzo….

Sin embargo últimamente se termina “Esta Noche Tu Night” y zas yo con el ojo pelón y es donde empieza mi calvario buscando algo que como que me arrulle de regreso a los brazos de Morfeo.

A veces me topo con una repetición de “Futbol Picante” en ESPN y con eso de que estoy en medio de terminar mi novela de romance/futbol pues me gusta quedarme dormida escuchándolos porque luego me llegan ideas en mis sueños.

Cuando ni “Futbol Picante” me funciona pues sigo buscando algo que ver, a veces “Chelsea Lately” hace esa magia y es que aunque la encuentro mega divertida, en el canal E repiten tanto sus shows que algunos ya los vi, así que entre sus chistes e ironías a veces logro quedarme dormida.

Si estoy muy despierta y ya vi el programa de esa noche de “Chelsea Lately”, le cambio al  canal HGTV, o sea al canal del Home and Garden, donde también me puedo quedar dormida viendo “House  Hunters”, aunque bueno a veces los programas son tan buenos, imagínense andar buscando una casa para vivir en Figi, que ver este canal me deja más despierta.

Lo malo es que al acabarse estos programas siguen los benditos infomerciales y si le dejo en ese canal al otro día despierto pensando que si necesito una maquina para hacer mis propias decoraciones o una para hacer camisetas con mis diseños…o sino peor tengo deseos de enviar mi prueba a ver si entro a la escuela de arte.

Y si ya de plano se acabo la programación del E y también la del HGV empieza lo de miedo porque entre canal y canal te encuentras con cada cosa.

Últimamente a Telemundo le ha dado por pasar películas mexicanas en las madrugadas y bueno a veces hay joyitas del cine, como “Feliz Año Nuevo Amor Mío”, con el gran Arturo de Cordova, pero a  veces ponen unas bien groovys con Valentín Trujillo, Silvia Pinal o Andrés García.

El otro día me tope con una que se llamaba “Enamorados” con Jacqueline Andere y Ricardo Blume  y bueno los dos son unos hippis enamorados en medio de un road trip que se aman, se odian y hasta se golpean, no les juro que hasta pensé que estaba teniendo una pesadilla…. con razón el cine mexicano en los ochenta era de películas de picardía o sea se quemaron los fusibles en los setenta.

Y bueno a veces logro dormirme con estas películas, pero a veces no y es cuando termino viendo la repetición de “El Gordo y la Flaca” y no que bárbaro nada más para corajes, no se en que momento ese programa se volvió tan, pero tan autorreferente.

Neta que los primeros minutos del programa que me tocó ver se la pasaron hablando del Twitter, del Gordo y las fiestas, comidas o cosas que él hace o que si Lily fue a no se donde, o sea ¿desde cuando son ellos las “estrellas”?

Si júrenlo cuando estoy despierta hasta las 3 am. que repiten este programa ya con esto santo remedio y me duermo del puro coraje de pensar que la gente ve “El Gordo y la Flaca” por gusto y que triste que ese sea el nivel de los programas de espectáculos.

En fin esta semana voy a tratar de tomar un tecito de manzanilla en las noches para poder dormir temprano o si tienen algún otro remedio se los encargo please.

Perdón que a veces me pierdo del Blog, pero saben que en el Twitter siempre estoy  : ).

Thanks to Patti I was able to play with one of her cartridges. I made her a card with it. and sent it to her when I returned her cartridge. Thanks Patti!! I think that car is  so cute . I saw a few  examples of them on the  internet. Where they had put the car onto a card front I wish I could remember just where this one card in particular was . Oh . .  it was gorgeous…If I find it again I’ll post the link.  But I just had to take it one more step and make mine into a   shaped card.

I used some Stampin’ Up! paper that was retired quite a long time ago…. I had been saving it for something special. I think it worked perfectly with that car. Hopefully Patti likes what I came up with using her Mickey and Friends cartridge.

hi everyone!

is it really thursday already!  YAY!  i have to say i am really looking forward to the little crafters shindig at my friend suzanne’s this weekend!  i will be bringing some cupcakes…but not just ANY cupcakes….i got a new cupcake BOOK!  yep they make those. lots of them and i want them ALL!  i’ll show ya pics saturday morning!  for now i have a fun little project for the contest Regina has going on over at Bitten By The Bug.

So Regina challenged everyone to make a BIRTHDAY card using CHRISTMAS colors.  FUN!  of course i was just ITCHING to play with my Wild Card cartridge on my new expression – i mean that IS one of the main reasons i wanted it so bad!

i just can’t tell you how excited i am to have finally made one of the cute designs on wild card!  not that i have never used the cart – there are lots of cool frames and other things on it but i really wanted to make one of the card & envelope sets.  the largest i could cut was 5 1/4″ on my 12 x 12 mat but that is plenty big enough!  (i have a feeling i will be going thru more  for hand delivery or attaching to a gift!

i cuttlebugged and inked the icing pieces and stickled the candles so they would stand out a bit more.  (I have ALL colors in stock!)  i finished it off with a few rose red glittered skittles at the top.  You can find these and all of the other colors available right HERE.  i mounted the sentiment on a nestie cut out for the inside.

This is the first time I used the Sure Cuts A Lot software with my Cricut Expression.  I am thrilled with the endless possibilities.

Hummingbird Favor

I embellished Godiva’s 4 piece truffle box around the theme of my mom’s 60th birthday.  She love hummingbirds and I wanted to tastefully showcase this.   The Godiva box is already elegant and tasteful on it’s own, so I didn’t feel compelled to change it.  I simply cut a scalloped oval that fit nicely between the gold embossing on the box and then added the hummingbird on a foam pop-up dot on the knotted ribbon!   For the hummingbird I sprayed it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in midnight blue.

I got all of Reagan’s bday invites done! I used my new Cricut and the “Sweet Treat” cartridge. As soon as I take a picture I will post it. They turned out so cute!!! Check back for pictures of the cards!

all Elements: Lindsay's stamp Stuff

On this card I used the free gingerbread clip art (see freebie pack below) and the scalloped rectangle from the embossed mats set (I adjusted the color to green) and typed “Happy Holidays” over it and printed it out as one image on a piece of cardstock that was my card base. I punched 2 holes and threaded a shot piece of ribbon through and viola: a card in 3 minutes!

I just did this card this morning, I printed one of the card base sheets from the new Winter Printables kit and cut it in half (you get two cards for one sheet) and folded it. I used the Gingerbread svg file from the freebie pack (I cut it with my cricut and scal software) and glued that on my card over one of the tags from the 3-D Advent Calendar set, then I cut a slit on the fold of my card for my ribbon and added that and finally I added the happy holidays tag also from the Winter Printables set. I added a punched tab at the top and over it an element from the Christmas Cupcakes set. As you can see all of the stamp set from Lindsay’s stamp stuff coordinate beautifully together
