The Miss USA is only three days away! It is time for the Miss USA to take home the Miss Universe crown once again!! Last year, I knew that Crystle Stewart was going to win the Miss USA. She was a true standout. This year, there are not really any girls that jump out at me. The crown is up for grabs and about fifteen girls have an equal shot. Four or five of those girls would do well on an international stage. The preliminary show was interesting. The delegates were all over the place. Bad hair. Copy gowns that Crystle Stewart wore the year before. Bad walks and bad facial gestures. Some girls plummeted and other girls rose to the occasion.

The opening number of the preliminaries
Crystle Stweart had some crazy hair going on. I am a big fan of Crystle and her personal style. Her hair scared me though. I swear it was screaming for food. She must have set the example for all the delegates to sport bad hairdos. The last few days of your reign is not the time to experiment with your hair. On a more positive note, she looked lovely in her black dress. The comments that the hosts said about the delegates was a little cheesy. The whole rhyme scheme was just ridiculous.

The worse of the Bunch
North Dakota and Ohio are tied for dead last. Miss North Dakota was a hot mess. At the end of her SS presentation she did this little backwords skip that just looked stupid. I thought she was a special needs girl. Miss Ohio borrowed Miss Korea’s gown from last year. It was quite recycled. Miss Ohio decided to change it up and make it a sleeping bag, laced with diamonds on the top.

Nevada was another girl that had issues on the stage. I am surprised that she won her state title. She is so average looking. Her gown made her look like a whale. If she cracks the top fifteen, it will be for sympathy only. Because she is the home state!

Trust me the videos tell it like it is. When Miss Nevada came down those stairs in this gown she looked like a whale swimming to shore.

The over hyped girls that just didn’t live up to the hype
Arizona- This girl is being hyped like no tomorrow. She is on everyone’s top fifteen on the USA voy forum. She was a hot mess in her preliminaries. Her Swimsuit presentation was decent. Her hair was a disaster. She looked like she stuck her finger in a light socket. By the time she came out for her evening gown, she got lost between the sequins and the bad hair. She will probably be left clapping as her name is not called.

Colorado- Everyone has been comparing her to Rachel Smith. The only comparison between these two is in the face. Miss Colorado is way out of her league at this pageant. Her body proportions are odd and her walk is bland.

Connecticut- This girl was over hyped more than Arizona. She looked like a forty year old MILF during her presentation. What was up with the slicked hair? Maybe she was trying to reminisce about the year 1987.

When bad gowns happen to good girls
Miss Georgia is the epitome of great presentation, bad gown choice. What in the hell was she thinking. She had a chance at the top fifteen spot until she came out in a big purple thing, with a flower and pink layers. Disaster. Past examples of bad gowns include Miss Korea of 2008 and Miss Kazakhstan 2007.

The Crystle Stewart Syndrome
How many girls can possibly image the gown that Crystle Stewart wore last year? This got very redundant and boring.

The Diva of the Pageant
Miss Alabama was way over the top with her performances during her presentation. She actually had a decent evening gown and a good body. Her walk was way over the top and she was eye humping the judges the whole time. I consider her a slight dark horse, but she really needs to learn to tone it down.

The girls that Surprised
These girls were not anywhere near my list. I thought they gave solid performances in the preliminaries.

Miss New Mexico was often criticized because of her weight during her crowning photos. She gave a solid preliminary performance. She was one of the few contestants that truly looked like she was genuinely having fun on the stage.

Miss Illinois had a very lovely gown. If it was not for her awkward facial poses during the Swimsuit portion, she probably would have cracked my top fifteen. She was really muscular in her crowning photos, but she toned her body down quite a bit.

Miss New Jersey was the girl that I kept insisting would finish dead last. She is not photogenic at all but she is very telegenic. She was probably one of the biggest surprises for me in the preliminaries. Instead of coming off as manly, she came off as a soft and sensual woman. Her gown was regal but a little too simple to advance any farther in the competition.

The girl that I really wanted to do well
I was really rooting for Miss Alaska. When she arrived in Vegas, I really noticed her. I was like, who is that girl? Her arrival pictures were practically the first pictures that I saw of her, besides her crowning photo which was questionable. She was a major disappointment in the preliminaries. She kind of had this bobbing walk and almost had a near disaster at the end of her EG performance. I doubt she will make the final cut, but I am hopeful.

THE BUBBLES

Kansas

She is one of the girls that I think would do well on the Miss Universe stage. Her gown was timeless and regal.

Virginia

She gave one of the best gown performances in the presentation. Her body might hold back her chances of making the cut.

Louisiana

Solid performance. Looks older than her years.

Vermont

She is very beautiful and quite photogenic. Her gown was not the best choice.

MY TOP FIFTEEN
This is where it got really hard. Some of the girls performed better than other girls. For example I have South Carolina ranked as number three on my preliminary list but I have decided to only put her in my top fifteen, instead of my top five. I decided to weigh in their interviews, candid pictures, how the judges will perceive them and how telegenic they actually are.

15th place goes to Miss Nebraska. Miss Nebraska is a former Miss Teen USA delegate and she cracked the top ten at that pageant. I really hope she changes her gown during the finals night, if she is called as a semi-finalist. She was wonderful during the preliminaries and could be a girl to watch.

14th place goes to Miss South Carolina. I don’t care for this girl at all. She reminds me of an ostrich. I hate, hate her hair. However, she did give one of the strongest performances in the preliminaries.

13th place goes to Rhode Island. Miss Rhode Island was a surprise for me. She was getting a lot of hype from some of the other posters, but I didn’t quite get her until I saw her preliminary performances. She was very subdued and brought everything that she had to the table.

12th place goes to Maine. She is not one of the prettiest girls at the pageant, but she gave one of the best preliminary performances. Maine rarely gets a chance to be in the semis at the Miss USA pageant. Could this be their year?

11th place goes to South Dakota. Love this girl. She slipped out from under the radar and surprised a lot of people. She is on quite a few people’s list. She could go farther, if she adds some sex appeal to her performances. Her gown is an exact copy of Pennsylvania’s gown from last year. I would suggest that she wears something different.

THE TOP TEN

10th place goes to Texas. Texas had set the bar so high during her crowning photos, that she may have pushed herself to hard. Everyone expected a lot from her during the preliminaries. While her performance was solid, it was not enough for a top five spot. She was not original and she just looked worn out.

9th place goes to North Carolina. Her evening gown was beautiful, although blue may be a little too much. Her body is rocking. She was solid. The problem? She was predictable. There are a couple of blonds that outshine her.

8th place goes to Florida. Pageant patty. She is strong, but is she strong enough?

7th place goes to Wisconsin. She is without a doubt, one of strongest blonds in the competition. While everyone is hyping the Carolinas, Texas and Vermont this girl outshined all four of them. She could be this years Mississippi or New Jersey by surprising everyone and slipping into the top five spot.

6th place goes to Tennessee. She is high fashion and editorial. She would do exceptionally well on the Miss Universe stage, in my opinion. She is actually worthy of the Miss USA crown, but right now she is being outshined by five other girls. So, step it up girl!

THE TOP FIVE

4th runner up goes to Arkansas. She gave California a run for her money during the preliminaries. Miss Arkansas has a very interesting look about her. The thing is, she will either bring it on pageant night or she won’t. She needs to do exactly what she did in preliminaries to ensure a top five spot.

3rd runner up goes to Hawaii. I am really questioning this. Is this too low of a placement? My gut says yes but my instincts say no. I just couldn’t get pass her hair in the preliminaries. In my opinion she has the best gown in the pageant. She is very articulate but comes off as brash.

2nd runner up goes to New York. I can’t remember the last time an Asian girl did well at the Miss USA pageant. I think it was Brooke Lee who went on to win the Miss Universe pageant in 1997. Miss New York was born in China and didn’t learn to speak English until she was about five years old. Strong performance. My only suggestion would be to change the gown. Her gown is not as strong as the other girls and when it comes to judging on finals night, that might keep her from advancing any farther than the top ten.

1st runner up goes to Utah. She is more photogenic than telegenic. Her Eastern European beauty would rival the girls at the Miss Universe level. If she plays her cards right, she could become the next Miss USA.

The winner is Miss California!! She has the best walk and the best confidence. She rocked the preliminaries and walked away first place in my book. There are a select number of girls that are at her heels. Now, I think she would make a great Miss USA, but I don’t think she would win the Miss Universe. In my opinion she is just not really Miss Universe material.

Bill Murray was spotted having dinner with Miss USA Crystle Stewart in Chicago last night. The two enjoyed dinner and then as they were leaving:

After their Sepia dinner, Murray’s new-found cheerfulness was very much on display outside the restaurant. While he waited for the valet to bring his car, a bunch of female fans approached and started to squeal with joy when they spied the actor. Murray, apparently feeling no pain, really got into it and ended up kissing them all — even jokingly ”making out” with one of the lucky ladies.

Interesting…..I wonder if this is a love connection or just a casual dinner? Bill is recently divorced after an 11 year marriage, so it looks like he is moving on. Although, they do look like an odd couple, I bet he kept her laughing during dinner!

Following in the footsteps of Rachel Smith who fell down during last year’s Miss Universe contest, Crystle Stewart, the current Miss America, trips on her dress at this year’s Miss Universe.

Again?! Seriously?!

Come on! We are the United States of America. Designers from around the world come to the US to practice their craft. We have no shortage of designer talent. Can we not design a stupid dress for our Miss America that won’t stick to her butt like stink on a monkey?

An epidemic of cancer is forcing Tasmanian devils to breed earlier. The efforts are proving unsuccessful since the Tasmanian devils want only to breed with rabbits dressed in drag.

Bangkok, Thailand was voted the world’s best city in a poll conducted by Travel + Leisure magazine, trumping last year’s winner, Florence, Italy. Bangkok’s victory was attributed to the fact that most readers of Travel + Leisure magazine are pedophiles.

Bangkok, Thailand was voted the world’s best city in a poll conducted by Travel + Leisure magazine, trumping last year’s winner, Florence, Italy. In an effort to win back the title, Florence has launched an intensive campaign to teach all women in the city how to shoot ping-pong balls out of their vaginas.

I have to admit that this has got “tons” of grammatical errors.

Ten mistakes won’t lead us having “less brain activity”. hihihi… por favor…. this is just an opinion ok? so relax. grab a pop corn and go through it.
The bee has spoken. Let us start by comparing how many did I get right as per my prediction list.

Mexico

Venezuela

USA

India

Puerto Rico

Australia

Vietnam

Thailand

Korea

Panama

Kosovo

South Africa

Japan

Belgium

* red marks are the unfortunate outguessed ones.

It’s 9 out of 15. Not bad compared to my 7 out of 15 last year. Year by year it keeps on improving. I expect that next year, I will be able to reach a 2 digit score.

So Dayana won. As I have said in my prediction blog: Once Miss Venezuela, always Miss Venezuela. It was a well-deserved win. Dayana nailed the final question when she was asked whether which have it easier, men or women: “Actually, God made men and women different. But the big difference between women and men–it doesn’t matter what kind of life they live–is that men think that the faster way to go to a point is to go straight. Women, no. The faster way to go to a point is to go through curves and fixing every curve,”Miss Venezuela answered international judge Louis Lacari.

The best one so far. I have to give her an “A” for that.

Taliana, my old time bet since the pageant started, had a great answer as well. The bell was a curse when it reached its ”ding dong”. The judges got disturbed and pulled her scores down during the final interview. “Startstruck by Jennifer Hawkins? maybe not!”

In comparison to Dayana’s answer….ahhhhh!!!!! hmmmmmm..that’s a no brainer.

Dayana’s answer was straight to the point. She was not so fluent in English, but she made a very remarkable response.

Tali’s was a mediocre. Dayana edged her and finished a well deserved end held in Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam last Monday.

The second, third and fourth runners-up were Miss Dominican Republic, Miss Russia and Miss Mexico, respectively.

Let’s do it one by one and I’ll share you my inside thoughts about this year’s pageant.

The stage was gigantic and class. It was massive. Colorful. They had an energetic set of dance performers also.

The opening number was hideous. The Opening number song was very common..”EVERYBODY’S GONNA LOVE TODAY”..Give me a break . That was lousy and I cannot even call it a production number. Nothing great about it so far. The individual national costumes were eye catching. It was very long and I started to get bored staring at it.

Melanie B. was oozing hot. Well, I always liked her ever since she started in Spice Girls while Jerry Springer was too old to host a pageant. Come on..this is not Ms. Grandma Universe! He is corny and tried to be funny but it didn’t work out so far. He made a grand entrance riding something like a “scooter”…that was…………ooow…never mind. I prefer to keep my mood in its normal status, but it really sucks!

So, the top fifteen were announced in random order. Let’s see.

VENEZUELA

KOSOVO

MEXICO

VIETNAM

SOUTH AFRICA

AUSTRALIA

JAPAN

DOMICAN REPUBLIC

ITALY

COLOMBIA

RUSSIA

HUNGARY

CZECH REPUBLIC

USA

SPAIN

Did I hear it right? Hungary? I hope the judges weren’t “hungry” when they selected her to be in the spot. I hope they had a better explanation. The rest deserves to be in their individual spots. Even if I heard so much that many were surprised about Italy and Russia’s inclusion in the list…I favored the preliminary judges in selecting them, they have the guts and they can both pull the trigger.

So where is Simran and Ingrid. This is not a mock up dress rehearsal show right? Then I was convinced that they weren’t really in the final 15. What went wrong? Whatever it is, I guess it would be reasonable. Blame it to the prelim judges. Esha must be so pissed about Miss India’s exclusion on the finalist. Hihihihi….. A great strategy can accompany a great jinx.

Ingrid???? Somebody must have pepper sprayed her gown once again. This time, it was successful. It worked out and she failed to secure a spot in the final 15. Just an opinion.

So I was going through my list. I was shocked. How could I forget Miss Dominican Republic in my list? How can I afford to overlook such beauty? My God…she is a bomb. Almost……perfect. She even looks better than Amelia Vega in some angles.

The swimsuit competition started. So who was that singer? She was scary. I thought it was CHER. It was a “0” performance for me. My niece can even dance better than her. And what’s with the blonde hair? Sorry if I am so mean, but does she want to replace Miss Albania?

Grrrrrrr….Blonde and not so beautiful.

The one who has got the best Swimsuits for me were Tali of course, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico and Dominican Republic. Miss Spain looked like a villain in a “telenovela”. I didn’t like her because of that. She tried to look sultry…ended up looking cocky.

Top 10 were announced.

Kosovo

Australia

Spain

Mexico

Colombia

USA

Dominican Republic

Russia

Italy

Venezuela

Comment: Miss South Africa deserves to be in the top ten in replacement of Miss Italy.

Miss Thailand won the Best in National Costume Award. So what happened to Miss Philippines?

Miss El Salvador bagged the Miss Congeniality award. It’s better than having nothing at all. Ooopsss..Sorry.

The evening gown competition started. Ok. So, everybody was calm and feeling elegant that moment. I was not informed that Crystle’s ambition was to drop her feet down and fall on her ass. Drop off the rumors about her intentionally doing it…come one..that is absurd! who would waste her time preparing for a once in a lifetime event and just screws it with a bouncing plot like this. Hell no. In fairness to her, she almost dropped her jaw when she just realized (What the f*ck was that?) She tried to hide it, but that 15 minute fame is a “make or break” situation…in that case..she failed to recover from that fall.

That fall has totally changed her future. She could have easily crowned herself and would have the rarest chance of answering any of the final questions. Poor girl. I love her from the start. She reminds me of Wendy Fitzwilliam. It was not her fault though. Blame it to the beads down her gown. The panel of judges gave her a dropping 8.050 mark in the evening gown competition which lead to his exclusion to the Final Five. Russia could have been ousted and she’ll definitely get the spot.

Here are my views regarding their evening gowns.

· Italy – NO COMMENT

· Venezuela- SHE SHINED IN YELLOW

We are almost there. So, top the five finalists were announced. Miss USA crosses her finger till it bleeds. (I hope I’ll be in…I hope I’ll be in…) Let us see.

Miss Colombia

Miss Venezuela

Miss Dominican Republic

Miss Mexico

Miss Russia

USA must have been so disappointed.

Final questions were rolled out.

Miss Colombia was star struck by Jennifer Hawkins. She stammered. She delivered it well but she got caught by the bell when it rang while she was still conversing.

Venezuela’s answer was perfect. She nailed it. That is why she deserves to receieve the 18K white and yellow gold crown, which was valued at $120,000.

Dominican Republic’s answer was so “Miss Universe”. It was not from the heart. Somewhat like her. She answered it from the nose.

Miss Mexico tried to answer in English but failed to impress the judges..including me.

Miss Russia: I was surprised. She gave a very good answer. It made me convinced that she should be in the top five.

MORAL LESSON: Don’t say Cin Xiao if you are planning to give a very long answer. CIN XIAO girls. If only there is a “part 2″.

SCOOP: Roberto Cavalli? What’s with the flirty question? But I loved it. The way he uttered the word “satisfyyyyyyy”. OMG. So gay! (*winks*) but it was cool.

Dayana won of course. No doubt. Nobody even questioned it.

Prior to that Riyo Mori had her final walk on her own version of the “tux”. I was reading some blog, questioning what she wore. Come on…she looks fabulous. Admit it! Sometimes, we need to see and accept the reality that there are people who look good in what they wear. She looked so class…not a trying hard mannequin as every other reigning queen looks like. So all sourgrapers out there…..chill out!

Rounding up. Here is the summary of scores. (Swimsuit/Evening Gown)

She was a fox in yellow.

She had the “x,y and z” factor.

Crystle Stewart, the crowned representative of the United States of America, took a plunge on stage during the presentation of evening gowns on Monday, July 14 in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Like stocks on any given day, the chances of winning can rise or fall, and unfortunately Miss USA’s outstanding and graceful fall did not lend her the winning crown of Miss Universe. Instead a 22 year old model and design student, Miss Venezuala Dayana Mendoza was crowned Miss Universe by last year’s title holder Riyo Mori of Japan. The top five consisted of other fellow latinas; 20 year-old Taliana Vargas from Columbia stands as runner-up while Miss Dominca Republic, Mexico, and Russia round out the top.

Although Miss USA did not take home the title she’ll still get to stand near its gleaming light; Stewart will share an apartment with Miss Universe and Miss Teen USA in New York. She plans to continue as a motivational speaker.

Motivationally speaking, we just happened to find a clip of not only Stewart falling but last year’s Miss USA Rachel Smith falling as well. Hmm…is America starting a new tradition?

Although she was able to quickly get up, laugh, and clap at herself, her smile didn’t seem genuine. Boy did those nostrils come flaring out–and you could tell she was about to go walk off the stage and cry. I would probably do the same thing, so I’m not one to point fingers, but i do feel bad for her. She was definitely one of the prettiest ones there and seemed like a nice enough lady. Now if I was Sharon Stone, I would say “America is doing mean things to rest of the world, so I find myself thinking…Could this be karma? ” (What a stupid, stupid thing to say Sharon.)

The sad irony of it all is the song was playing, in which Alan Thicke sings “you got that magic girl” (or something like that) moments after she fell. My advice for next year, Miss USA:

Don’t wear dresses with ridiculously long trains or dresses with “beads” on them!

The NBC show took place in Vietnam with the obvious Donald Trump plugs and Miss Venezuela, Dayana Mendoza, won the official title, sparkling in a pretty yellow gown. Now whether or not her boobs are real, you be the judge. Miss Mexico definitely had fake tig ol’ bitties.

It’s amazing that all these girls are only 19 and 20 years old, and are made to look 30. You take young, beautiful girls, spray fake tan on them, put pounds of make up on their faces (and bodies–no one’s stomach can look like that without some airbrushing or “six-pack shading”), half a bottle of hairspray, maybe some colored contacts, silicone breasts if they naturally don’t exceed a C-cup, and voila! You’ve got a fool-proof formula. Oh yeah, and you must be at least like 5′7 to be in this competition, which I think sucks. Sorry, but we (Asians) just don’t normally come that big. Some more irony: It would be very hard to find a 5′7 woman in the very country they were hosting the competition (Vietnam). I’m done ranting. Here’s a clip of the winner herself getting crowned *tear*:

One a side note: But Seriously, what was up with Miss Dominican Republic’s dress? It was a nude colored gown covered with diamond shaped mirrors. Yes, mirrors. I didn’t really care for it. It looked like the infamous Britney Spears nude/sparkly number on crack. You know, the one from the VMA a few years back.

I really liked that former Miss Universe Riyo Mori (of Japan) decided to wear a conductor-like tuxedo for her last walk as reigning miss universe. I thought it was a pretty progressive statement (despite the fact that her knockers were half out). She still looked amazing, as usual.

HANOI, Vietnam (AP) — Miss USA has learned a simple lesson from her humiliating tumble during the Miss Universe pageant — the second year in a row the American contestant has taken a spill.

Crystle Stewart has shrugged off the fall she suffered at the Miss Universe pageant.

“I think I’m going to have to take some walking classes,” Crystle Stewart told The Associated Press during a telephone interview Monday, just hours after her mishap was broadcast live across the globe.

“I would never have thought in a million years that I would fall down at the Miss Universe pageant — right after Miss USA fell last year,” Stewart said. “I always wondered: My God, if that happened to me, what would I do?”

Stewart is taking the episode with equal parts humor and philosophy, determined to move on.

“Things happen,” said Stewart, 26. “I’m perfectly fine. I’m going to move back to New York and get on with my life.” Watch Stewart take a tumble »

Stewart’s fall came as she walked on stage for the evening gown competition.

“My dress has beautiful beads on the bottom of it, and I stepped on my gown and they made me slip. It was like I was on Rollerblades. There was no conspiracy or anything. Nobody left marbles on the floor. It was just me.” Watch Jeanne Moos showcase some other fallen beauty queens »

Miss Venezuela, who won the contest, will now become Stewart’s

roommate in New York, where Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA share an apartment provided by the company that owns all three pageants.

Stewart and the other contestants attended a coronation party for the new Miss Universe, Dayana Mendoza, on Monday night in Nha Trang, where the pageant was held.

Stewart is a motivational speaker and has developed a character education program which she teaches in a New York City school. She plans to turn her mishap into a lesson.

“I’ll be talking to my students about it when I get back,” she said. “Sometimes you fall in life, not just in the pageant but financially or emotionally. It’s not about the fall but how you pick yourself up.”

After she fell down, Stewart stood up, gave herself a round of applause, and kept on walking.

During the 2007 Miss Universe contest in Mexico City, Miss USA Rachel Smith also tumbled during the evening gown competition and became an unintended star on YouTube, where the video was shown over and over again.

Miss Indonesia – apa kabar?

Setuju gag???
