Inspired by an article at the TagesAnzeiger (german) about designing your own clothes I thought to expand this list with my collection of links and places I’ve ordered stuff.

The Dress

Create your own dress over Styleshake, Dressbydesign or get crafty by sewing it all by yourself with VoguePatterns. I have a pending (…) project for a wrap dress and I have a really stunning fabric for it.

Show of you shirt

I didn’t know of shirtsmyway.com and they only do men shirts (!) but I use Tailorstore since 2 years. They recently changed the designing function and webpage – it looks great! Over the time they have expanded the design possibilities – I just love to play around and compose new designs! Hey, I’ve you need inspiration drop me a line and I create you one. Just let me know to which color type you belong to.

From shirts to T-Shirt; the article mentions streetshirts.co.uk, Customink.com, zazzle.com and  I have used www.shirtcity.com and Homeshirt for good-bye shirts for working colleagues. I also have Cafepress, Spreadshirt and Bang-on in my link collection. But didn’t use it.

Not custom-made but cool design shirts and ‘being-ahead-of-the-crowd’ are pages like LaFraise and Threadless. Once in a club in Zürich I said to the wardrobe guy that I recognised his shirt being from Threadless and I have one (another) aswell – he kind of got a bit upset…

Walk with style

Going from shirts to shoes. I think every one knows Nike-Id, although I never ordered something there I liked it since my discovery (around 2006). But the real luxury and comfort lies in having welted shoes! Sadly, I seem only to find pages who over it for men shoes. All you dandy, elegant and classy men, try out Huwyler. And let me know how you like the result.

And if you need a final twist for your legs to show off; why not try handmade woolen socks (yeah, the real old way). At Netgranny you can get your own granny knitting socks for you. If this is going too far for you, why not try a subscription Blacksocks or the fancy version mentioned in the article.

Go classy and traditional

by writing cards again. Found Cardsink which follows the same vote-and-sell concept like Threadless (over SwissMiss). But pleeeease, don’t just write with any pen. Get a proper fountain pen. Like this one in pocket-size.

Tailor your bling – swing your bag

With a ring at Egocollection, apparently for the singles who would like to wear a proper ring and being proud of being single at the same time. Or start your own jewellery line at Julie and Grace.

Ever wanted to design your own handbag? Well, then try Elemental Threads and get lost with all the options…

After your newly designed handbag, that old laptop bag needs color coordinated or at least updating. And speaking of color coordination, don’t forget to include your mobile cover and protection. You should try these (random order): Velvet Idole, Ab Sutton, Mundfunk, Canvasco, Mobilebags, Designskins, Schtickers, Urban Retro, Vaja Cases, Burning Love, Tilly Moss, More-Thing, Ultra-Case, ColorWare. I tell you, I have a tick for color coordinating everything. Staying with accessories; go over the top with Name Your Porsche. A working colleague is really into Porsche and I am thinking about giving her already her personal name tag. But $600 for a fun gift is a bit over the top, don’t you think?

Going beyond or absurd

We posted that fan-made Draenei Barbie last week, and a few commenters sent us a note about this figure, custom made by Abotu over on Emerald Dream. The Barbie was just something funny that a few fans did while bored, but this Troll Rogue is the real thing — custom leather armor fitted onto what used to be a Tomb Raider figure, heavily modified with Sculpey, wood (for the daggers) and even boot laces (for the braids). It’s really, really impressive, not only in the way it looks, but in what it took to make: the whole thing took about two months� worth of work (Abotu guesses it might cost over $1000 to make selling these worth it), and many parts of it are completely fabricated. The head is sculpted from scratch, and the hands and feet are from an X-men Nightcrawler figure, but even those have been shaped to look completely different from what they used to be.

Quite a piece of work. We�ve put all of the image in an easily browseable gallery below, to save you from the trouble of cutting and pasting Photobucket links. Our own 15 Minutes of Fame column has also scheduled an interview with Abotu, so stay tuned for more information on how this all came together (and how you too might be able to immortalize your character like this). Lamborghini Gallardo Hamann. This is the improved Lamborghini Gallardo Hamann. Hamann is a custom design company for most sports cars. As you can see by the design it is clearly a Gallardo but with some added specifications and butterfly doors. Comment what you think! Dont forget to subscribe! I called Jeffrey’s number and, to my surprise, he answered almost immediately. Not that much time had elapsed between his call and mine, so it was expected that he would recognize my number.

“Hey, Jeff, how are you? So nice of you to call.”

“Yeah, like I said, I was on your ‘hood, on business actually, and remembered you lived here, so I decided to call.”

“Oh, and what kind of work do you do that takes you into the nighttime?”

“I have my own line of men’s clothes.”

“Wow, you’re a designer!”

“I’m trying to. For now I’m concentrated on custom-made shirts designed with different styles.”

“Sounds to me that you’re well on your way. Would love to see your work.”

“Well, I’m working on my website, so hopefully you should be able to do so soon.”

I was curious to get ‘the real deal’ on his marital status so I finally asked him about it.

“So, hmm, what’s going on with you?”

“What do you mean?”

“Your friend at the bar said you were in a ‘complicated relationship,’ which means?”

“I’m married.”

“Whoa! But you’re so young. How long have you been?”

“I don’t want to talk about it.”

Jeff’s tone of voice quickly shifted from nice to somewhat upset. I had touched a nerve that obviously hurt very badly.

“Listen, I don’t know the details of your relationship. But I will say this: I invested 15 years of my life to one guy who, at the end of the day, left me because ‘he was unhappy.’

If the two of you are having problems, but still want to make it work, by all means go for it. I’m going through a divorce and it’s totally miserable.

But if things are so bad, it’s better to end it, and not let 15 years go by to restart your life. Do it while you’re still young.”

I was lecturing this guy and felt like crap. I felt old and that my life was headed towards a dead end.

Jeffrey was still sounding bad over the phone so the only remaining thing to say to him was to offer myself as a ‘sympathetic ear’ wherever he needed to talk to someone.

Now listen to myself! My husband dumped me, I’m fresh into a divorce process and I’m giving relationship advice? Who am I kidding? (Myself.)

The conversation ended in a sort of sour note and I was more concentrated on how depressed and lousy I felt than of wondering if any communication between Jeffrey and me had any remote chance of occurring again.

Has this ‘cougar moment’ come to an end?

This color is also commonly associated with energy, so you can use it when promoting energy drinks, games, cars, items related to sports and high physical activity.

Light red represents joy, sexuality, passion, sensitivity, and love.
Pink signifies romance, love, and friendship. It denotes feminine qualities and passiveness.
Dark red is associated with vigor, willpower, rage, anger, leadership, courage, longing, malice, and wrath.
Brown suggests stability and denotes masculine qualities.
Reddish-brown is associated with harvest and fall.

I understand standing out, being different, going against the grain, but why have rock candy as the heel of your shoes. Don’t get he wrong heir really cute but are the good to walk in or are they screwing shoes. For those who don’t know what screwing shoes are, they are shoes that you can stand in or wear just for shoe but you can not walk in them. That’s what these shoes look like to me but honey if you can walk in them more power to you because I’d break my neck in those.

When I see things that are handmade they make me feel good. It’s like they have emotion. Something is there, human nature, perfect imperfections, life. It has its own energy & personality. My goal is to create a handmade lifestyle for myself. To have my wardrobe, sport equipment, kitchenware, furniture, notebooks, art supplies & home, as handmade as possible. I’m not interested in things that are rushed, lifeless & identical to a million other things. I prefer them made with love & built to last.

I loved the atmosphere of this place. I have had several group gatherings there. It’s a nice place to have a few drinks or just a quiet meal with someone. This is a place that cares about there customers. The prices are very reasonable too! Great service and family owned for years and years. This place has good authentic Mexican food, all homemade food. It’s great food. The location is easy to find and the food is delicious. And they also have live music every other friday night.
