We have had quite a few requests to provide décor ideas to hide unsightly air conditioning units in gardens. Badec Bros Deco specializes in feature walls, such as gabion feature walls. These designer walls are ideal to hide air conditioning units, unsightly views, or ugly old walls, without having to remove the existing wall.

We manufacture our gabion walls from 30mm x 3mm angle iron, which is welded together to ensure a strong frame. Then we weld strong, steel mesh onto the frame to create the shape of the wall. Once the hollow wall structure has been manufactured, we install it on site and fill it with pebbles, slate stone or chunky quartzite gravel.

Alternatively, we can also construct mild steel feature walls and add intricate detail to the surface of the steel to decorate it. There are three finishes to choose from. We can powder coat the feature wall in any colour imaginable, or we can apply mild steel finish or a rusted finish. Our powder coating is SABS approved.

Locate a DRM-free song you want in iTunes and take note of the start and stop time of the section you want to use for the ringtone. It can be up to 30 seconds in length.

Right click the song and choose “Get Info” and click on the “Options” tab. Enter the start and stop time values in the appropriate section. Click OK.

Go up to “iTunes/Preferences…” and under “General/Import Settings…” choose “AAC Encoder” Click OK. Click OK again.

Go back to your song, right click and choose “Create AAC Version”. After it’s done converting your song, right click the newly created AAC file and choose “Show in Finder”. Change the .m4a extension of this file to .m4r. Keep this window open.

Go back to the original song in iTunes and zero out the start and stop times you set earlier so your song will play in it’s entirety again. Delete the AAC file you encoded from the library. Choose “Keep File” when the dialog window appears.

Go back to the window that has your .m4r file and drag it into iTunes under the Ringtones section of your iPhone. You’ll see your iPhone light up and sync. Once complete, on your iPhone go to Settings/Sounds and change your ringtone to the one you just created. Isn’t that lovely?

A few creations that I wanted to share with you… completely custiomizable according to the theme of your event!

Seating Charts are placed at the entrance to a reception facility where guests can locate their name and table assignment.  Seating charts are an outstanding alternative or complement to traditional place cards!

Signature Prints are a great alternative to traditional guest books. Your guests use a standard ball-point pen to personalize your print with their well wishes.

Howdy, this post is for my old 14″ IBM T41 laptop, it only has a screen resolution of 1024×768 and everything in Ubuntu or other gnome based distro for that matter is fracking big. Adjusting all the fonts to size 8 under System->Preferences->Appearances only slightly reduces the problem. The icon still remain rather big, to reduce the icon size some text editing is in order. Open the Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type the following:

sudo gedit ~/.gtkrc-2.0

This will open a text editor, then past the following into the document:

gtk-icon-sizes = "panel-menu=16,16:panel=16,16:gtk-menu=16,16:gtk-large-toolbar=16,16:gtk-small-toolbar=16,16:gtk-button=16,16"

Save and exit.

Please note that these settings will only work with gtk-2.0 themes that doesn’t specify these values on their own, otherwise nothing will happen.

How to ensure your themes doesn’t specify these settings?

All default themes (those that comes from the distro installation) are stored in the following location ‘/usr/share/themes’, simply navigate to the location and find the theme your using, then view the content of the gtkrc file. in my case since I’m using the default theme named Human the location would be; ‘/usr/share/themes/Human/gtk-2.0/gtkrc’.

Locate the line starting with ‘gtk-icon-sizes’. If nothing is found or specified the above settings will work, just restart to apply the changes. Otherwise continue the reading.

Instead of removing the line a better way is the copy the theme to your on theme directory located in ‘~/.themes’. To create a copy of theme simply type the following in the Terminal:

cp -R /usr/share/themes/<theme_name> ~/.themes/<new_theme_name>

<theme_name> being the name of the theme to clone, <new_theme_name> being the name for the new theme (note the <new_theme_name> can’t be the same name as the original one). The next step is to edit the theme file, type the following line in the Terminal:

sudo gedit ~/.themes/<new_theme_name>/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

locate the line starting with ‘gtk-icon-sizes’ and replace it with the following: (Note; if in doubt just comment out the line instead of replacing it, by placing ‘#’ in front of the line.)

gtk-icon-sizes = "panel-menu=16,16:panel=16,16:gtk-menu=16,16:gtk-large-toolbar=16,16:gtk-small-toolbar=16,16:gtk-button=16,16"

The final step of text editing is to adjust the content of the index.theme file located in the ‘~/.themes/<new_theme_name>/index.theme’

sudo gedit ~/.themes/<new_theme_name>/index.theme

In this file their are three lines to change (note my theme is based on Human, so the content can vary from the one you might have). Replace the all the lines contain <new_theme_name> with the name you chose for the theme.

The final step is to apply the new theme this is done by opening the System->Preferences->Appearance and selecting the theme you just created. The changes here will only affect toolbars that respect gtk like gedit. Changing the size of the panel in gnome (the located in the top and bottom of the screen) more customization is required a solution might be found in the See also section, but I’ve haven’t tested them yet.

There is a new feature offered that would allow you to edit your website while in “Preview” mode rather than going directly into the website editor.

You can try this by following these steps below:

1. Log into your DistributorCentral account
2. Go to Website Menu> Add/Edit Websites
3. Click on Edit to the Right of your website
4. Here at the top right you will see a new Preview link. It will say “Edit/Preview“

When your Preview window opens, you can hover your mouse over your content and it will turn yellow. If you click on any of that content, the system will open up the website editor to the area where you can make that change.

When you save that change, the editor window will close and the preview will refresh automatically.

Remember to Publish Your Changes.

Now that summer is gone, the seashell interest has seemed to disappear -almost. I suppose that is natural when most of the country is gearing up for the cold and snow.
My most recent customers reside in California, Texas and Florida. I create these seashell Christmas greetings with my warm climate friends in mind.

I have to admit to never being happy with it, if you saw it before you will see what I mean, if you didn’t you did not miss anything but it now makes me smile, well the homepage does, the other pages will be improved gradually over time as there are more pressing avenues I have to follow to be able to continue the Custom work on the T4 itself.

A quick rundown, White T4 Builders Van, 2.5 Blue TDi, standard, chopped side panels out fitted windows, added a set of 16″ Audi A4 Alloys, wind deflectors, gutted the inside, fully insulated the panels, carpeted the interior and a new ply lining and roof, added a futon, built a skimboard table, added a seat and storage, lights, Steering Wheel chandalier from first Beetle, Surfboard rack, longboard (skateboard), kenwood stereo, curtains being made right now, etc, etc.

Its not finished yet (never will be) but its tripping to the beach with boards weekly right now so musn’t grumble ;-D
