The kids had a bath today. At one point, I looked up and saw they’d taken an almost empty soap bottle and were squeezing it into the water, enjoying the resulting bubbles.
I got very annoyed at them. YM had it in his hand, so I spoke mainly to him – YM, I said sternly, you know you’re not allowed to take soap bottles that are not totally empty and squeeze them. Now we wasted all that soap.
He seemed to agree with the rebuke
Then, he looks at me, and said -
You know Ima, the Yetzer Hara came to me…

I was walking to gan with R this morning. I said to her – R, you’re going to play with your friends?
- Ya.
- You’re going to see Yael, Motti, Aviel, Mattityahu, and…
I couldn’t remember the last kid’s name.
- Yakov!, R finished my sentence.
I couldn’t believe my ears! Not only did she know to tell me the name of the last kid, but she knew which one I’d left out. I’m still speechless…

This morning YM asked me for medicine because he wasn’t feeling well. As he’s not really sick, he only has a slight cough, I told him I’d have to make some medicine. A friend once gave me a recipe for homemade cough syrup which combines honey, wine, olive oil and probably garlic or onion, but I forgot the exact details, so I told the kids I’d have to get the recipe again.
YY then pipes up:
You’re making it? What are you making? A cake?
me: a Cake?
YY: a cake medicine?
Somehow, we usually make cakes, so he was carrying on the logic. Fun!

YM hasn’t been feeling great the last few days. Today he actually came home from school with fever.
But on friday and shabbos, he kept on complaining about little aches and pains.
Coughing, aching, etc. And he wanted me to give him medicine.
At shalosh Seudos on shabbos, YM came up to me and said, in a most serious voice -
Ima, my teeth are falling!
You’ll have to understand that I had a vision of him with all his teeth getting knocked out, like you see in cartoons, with all the teeth falling out one after the other, and I just burst out laughing.
YM actually continued -
They’re moving! See!
Thank G-d nothing’s moving, and of course all of YM’s teeth are not falling out, but it was sure a funny moment!

So off we went, with R stopping every few steps to turn around.

We finally got to gan. Thank G-d the cat was gone on our way back home later.
But R was still thinking about the cat. She didn’t mention it until nighttime, after the boys had gone to bed.
Cat, she told me. Booboo. Car.

And then this morning on the way to gan again.
Boom!, she said.
Cat. Booboo. Car. Boom!

Talk about traumatizing my kid. She won’t forget!

Yesterday we met aunt L, who is here for a visit, at a pizza shop for supper. The kids had pizza, and then L surprised us and treated us all to ice cream, our all-time favorite! It was a treat enjoyed by all.

Well, today, I had R with me when I went to pick up the boys, and we passed by the pizza shop. Right after we passed it, R turns around to look at me from her place in the carriage, and says, pointing: Piza!
Yes, R, I replied, that’s the pizza shop.

Then she gave me a cuter look and said – Ahss Keem!

I couldn’t believe she remembered so well where it was, and what we’d had there. She’s not so little anymore, I need to remind myself!
