‘Tis the season, I suppose, and I’ve spread myself out over the ‘net again like a stray glob of cranberry sauce hitting the kitchen floor. As a Twisted Krissmuss Elf, I’ve tossed up posts on Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and a general Krissmuss introduction with tips on how to improve your SL shopping experience. I have a ‘Cyber Monday’ post in the works for over there, too. (Sadly, the site is down at the precise moment I’m working. Never send gnomes to do an elf’s job.) My first TK present was also dropped on me, so expect to see that up in the near future.

As of December, I will also be trying to blog once a month for the Nocturne Modelling Agency as part of its revival; I have the idea of doing something related to the season(s), but it’s fairly vague at the moment.

With Rezzable, I hope to do one or two fashion-trend focused post, this time looking at the holidays and winter. The 2010 event may also have me hoppin’, considering my cybernetic connections.

Finally, I’ve started a blog for my small eclectic store, .! Chaotic Neutral !.. Because I deal mostly with freebies, you can imagine that the changes with XStreetSL really rubbed me the wrong way. Fortunately, I have gotten fully set-up on Apez, and I am working on my virtual storefronts with other online markets such as Metaverse. If you want to know more about what I do and what I offer, just check out the first link.

I am not sure where this all leaves my personal blog; certainly not abandoned, but definitely aloof. There’s only so much I can do when I’m bouncing all over the place in Sl and RL. In the coming weeks will be major project deadlines and final tests, alongside a scramble to make my Christmas gifts. Such is the life of the insane, I suppose.

Di Indonesia, mungkin Bluetooth messenger tidak booming di kalangan remaja. Tapi di Saudi, bluetooth merupakan sarana perkenalan cara baru.

Di Saudi, kondisinya memang tidak memungkinkan bagi muda-mudi untuk berkenalan secara langsung. Tidak seperti di Indonesia yang tempat-tempat hiburannya justru dipenuhi kaula muda dengan bebasnya; bahkan tak jarang yang berpacaran dan menunjukkan kemesraannya, tempat-tempat hiburan yang ada di sana memiliki semacam ‘filter’ untuk menyaring siapa saja yang boleh masuk. Kebanyakan tempat hiburan  ini hanya boleh dimasuki oleh keluarga. Hanya sedikit tempat yang boleh dimasuki sekumpulan remaja. Maka, seorang remaja hanya boleh memasuki tempat-tempat ini jika bersama dengan anggota keluarganya. Pergaulan antara muda-mudi juga terbatas disebabkan Saudi yang merupakan negara Islam. Perkenalan antara kaum laki-laki dan perempuan tidak bisa sembarangan dapat dilakukan.

Berkat kecanggihan teknologi berupa Bluetooth yang terfasilitasi dalam telepon seluler, remaja Saudi tidak kehabisan akal untuk tetap saling berkenalan dan memperluas jaringan pertemanan (bahkan mencari jodoh). Dalam satu ruangan dalam suatu bangunan publik, mereka dapat saling bertukar pesan, notes, ataupun foto dengan Bluetooth yang dapat mengirim data dalam radius 10 hingga 100 meter (tergantung pada spesifikasi ponsel dan aplikasi bluetooth yang digunakan). Bahkan ada aplikasi Bluetooth Messenger yang serupa software messenger lain seperti Yahoo!Messenger, MSN, eBuddy, dan lain-lain yang bisa memungkinkan untuk chatting dengan username nama bluetooth masing-masing perantinya, memilah account bluetooth siapa saja yang diperbolehkan untuk melihat post yang kita lakukan, dan sebagainya. Cara ini lebih disenangi karena kita cukup mengaktifkan bluetooth saja, tidak perlu mobile-online yang dapat memakan pulsa.

Sebagai pemicu, biasanya ada yang memulai dengan mengirim foto tertentu dengan quote pencair suasana seperti,” Ada yang bisa kirim foto yang lebih lucu dari ini, nggak?” Lalu mulailah marak mereka saling berbalas-balasan.

Dalam satu ruangan itu, secara kasat mata para pengguna Bluetooth dan Bluetooth Messenger yang saling berkenalan mungkin saja asik dengan keluarganya masing-masing. Namun sebenarnya di antara mereka ada boundary maya (atau boundary digital?) yang menciptakan ruang berkumpul mereka. Uniknya lagi, memang bisa saja pertukaran pesan, foto, dan notes itu berlanjut dengan perkenalan real. Namun bila tidak tertarik, kita bisa memilih unttuk hanya mengenal seseorang dengan nama device bluetoothnya saja. Lalu, bila keluar dari jarak jangkauan Bluetooth ponsel kita, kita pun akan kehilangan teman-teman yang jangkauannya sudah di luar.

Kalau dipikir-pikir, menarik juga bukan, berada dalam satu radius jangkauan yang relatif dekat, namun kita tidak bertemu secara fisik. Di dalam space Bluetooth connection ini setiap orang diwakilkan dengan sebuah nama bluetooth device yang mereka miliki. Di sini, space does matter, mungkin masih berlaku. Tapi manusianya? Apakah masih berlaku, masih berpengaruh?

Ibaratnya, sekarang tak cuma program komputer yang mempunyai icon dalam mewakilkan diri dalam menjalankan programnya yang sesungguhnya. Dalam hal ini, icon ditempatkan di muka alat digital elektronik, dibuat untuk mempermudah akses yang dijalankan oleh program yang terdiri dari banyak kode yang berada pada Local Disk. Sekarang, manusia juga dapat mempunyai icon yang mewakilkan dirinya di dunia digital.

Kalau diambil analoginya, memang benar di sini icon berupa username bluetooth device memang dibuat sebagai pengejawantahan orang sebenarnya di dunia nyata untuk kegiatan perkenalan sesama muda-mudi dalam dunia digital, disebabkan keterbatasan si orang ini untuk muncul secara fisik dalam kehidupan nyata untuk melakukan kegiatan perkenalan tersebut.

Namun, apakah fenomena Bluetooth Messenger ini hanya tools; alat. seperti halnya manusia zaman purba yang membuat tools untuk membantu kehidupan mereka? Misalnya, untuk menebang pohon, mereka membuat kapak sebagai perpanjangan tangan mereka, untuk mewadahi air mereka membuat cangkir dari batok kelapa sebagai ganti caukan tangan mereka, dan sebagainya.

Pengejawantahan diri, atau hanya alat? Ataukah alat pengejawantahan diri? Mungkin memang ini akan tetap menjadi pertanyaan, sebab dalam banyak hal kita memang memerlukan alat yang dapat mengejawantahkan diri kita, baik sebagian maupun secara keseluruhan, untuk membantu melakukan berbagai kegiatan, termasuk kegiatan bersosialisasi. Meskipun demikian, fenomena ini menarik bukan? Bahkan mungkin akan menginspirasi Sky-Ear Project yang lain. Sekalipun tidak jadi sampai sky-Ear , mungkin ini menarik untuk sekedar dicoba: apa sih enaknya Bluetooth Messenger (dapat didownload di ponsel kalian loh..^ ^)?

Ottawa, Canada — Four projects aimed at greening the information and communications technology (ICT) industry in Canada are receiving a $2.4 million boost from Canada’s Advanced Research and Innovation Network (CANARIE).

The largest chunk of CANARIE’s funding, $2 million, will go to the GreenStar Network for developing the first internet network with network nodes powered completely by wind and solar energy. The GreenStar Network is an alliance of Canadian IT companies, universities and international partners.

CANARIE is also giving $163,000 to a project by McGill University and University of California-San Diego to design an ultra-efficient data center for high-performance computing applications.

The University of British Columbia’s Centre for Sustainability and Social Innovation at Sauder School of Business will receive $119,000 to develop a business case for how carbon offsets can be used to finance data center relocations and how universities could implement this strategy.

Lastly, $100,000 will go to the International Institute for Sustainable Development to conduct a study to assess the business case and carbon-offset potential for Canadian universities to use CANARIE’s ultra high-speed network to run IT operations from remote data center facilities that would be carbon-free.

CANARIE manages network hundreds of times faster than the Internet used by researchers around the world to share and analyze massive amounts of data.

Because it was ingrained into my mind, heart and soul to not be gay, I was terrified of what would happen to me when and if it happened.  I spent many years trying to push it away, but would find myself finding outlets for my sex drive.  I was yearning for some kind of lovin’ no matter how it came.

At an early age I started to cyber.  I would go online and I would find chat rooms and would video with men.  I would create a fantasy for them and would give them what they want.  You would ask then how a young girl would know so much of what happens during a sexual act… Well the first time I watched pornography was when I was 10 or 11. I can’t truly remember the age.  I remember how it was imprinted to the back of my mind forever.  It was two women having sex with each other.

Once again people will say “Nope that’s why she likes women!” and once again I would have to have you look down and see that there is no ground below you and you would fall off the cliff!

This first image of pornography was very VERY disturbing to me.  I didn’t understand why two women were having sex with each other.  Also two women that were sisters.  It wasn’t possible in my mind.  First men and women only have sex and second why would two people that are related have sex with one another?  I couldn’t understand it!  But that was my first taste.  Then I started to search out pornography online.  Anywhere I would find it I would eat it up!

I would search it out more and more each day!  This is how I was able to give a person great fantasy of what they wanted, of what they needed for the time being.  I loved being able to get men so aroused!  It was fun to me and I would get a good time out of it.  Now the whole time this would happen my parents never said a thing to me about what was wrong or right when it came to sex.  My parents also didn’t stop what my sisters and I looked up or watched online.  Since they didn’t understand the English language well nothing made sense to them.  So I was able to get online late at night and do whatever I wanted without having anyone bother me.

I had such a high imagination.  Even after I would get off-line I would still imagine of having sex with a person.  I remember before falling asleep I would fantasize about being with people and having sex with them.  Now to make it alright with having sex with women in my fantasies I would become a man in them.  That’s how I would make my illusions ok.  I believed it was still ok to do so because I wasn’t falling into sin if I was a man having sex with women.

I enjoyed my fantasies.  I loved creating these stories when I was loved.  I loved being loved.  It felt so nice to have these women love me.  But on the exterior I pretended to like boys.  I even pretended to like a boy in my church when I was younger, only because all the other girls liked him too.  But to this day I can’t remember having any kind of butterflies in my stomach like I had for women.

Since 2002 auDA have been handling disputes over domain names (brands and individuals who believe they have the right to a domain/URL but are not the registered owner). Whilst some disputes appear to be clear cases of cybersquatting, others are just co-incidental making for an interesting debate.

In all about 160 cases are in the system which is not many considering this covers the last seven years. Although it’s a cost effective option (usually between $2000 and $4500 AUD) many companies still use a below the counter/direct approach and simply buy out a domain direct. Having been involved with quite a few of these direct URL ‘transfers’ there are sometimes good reasons to go direct – for instance if you lose the case at auDA, you may end up having to pay a LOT more as a result – so it pays to do your homework first to decide which route will work best.

Some interesting brands in the list below that have used auDAdrp: Facebook, Neilsen, BT, WhitePages, IBM, Telstra, Calvin Klein, Virgin, True Local, Hey Hey it’s Saturday (to name just a few). Current records show that roughly two thirds of cases were won by the complainant.

Since posting this article I’ve had several people contact me complaining about auDA and its process. One person explained to me that they were told by auDA that their case (their registered business name taken) had been “investigated” and denied even though the domain had not been used in seven years, no trademarks, no business name, noe events etc. This person also claimed to have discovered a direct connection between the board of auDA and the holder of the domain. The Big Fallacy Of The Cyber World

Sometimes “Best” remains unseen, unfelt in our life … ironically the
“Betters” are teeming this cyber world with utter intellectual
dissatisfaction. Strangers remain unknown at the very beginning and
over the times graduate to “Betters”. But the “Best” remains in
disguise proudly and honestly. That’s the fallacy of truth and
honesty. Its not always necessary to meet the soul, but importantly
trust and belief plays the key role. We can wait for the “Best” with a
distant hope to see the green light is on and feel the closeness of
two minds and hope the green to become even more green in the future
times… one cant always express one’s own self through text , or even
pictures.. text and pictures both have a lot of latent emotions..
which are not always easily expressible through wires.. the net is no
doubt one of the biggest inventions of mankind , but still…
something is missing.. it is only then you realize this fact when you
compare it with your real life , not the cyber , virtual one.. huhhh I
forgot that all we usually get are just “Betters”. Still I will wait
to meet you some day  … just to prove again that true friendship has
got the power to make things happen …. To make things change …… but
who knows when and how ? maybe never ! Still I’d love to .. lot of
factors play their roles… the internet serves as an alternative way

This is probably 2 weeks back but this is really interesting! I need to talk about how AMAZING Social Media has become!

CASE:  Boy,19 was 12 miles away from in Brooklyn when two guys were mugged. Having known that the police were looking for him in connection in a robbery, he turned in, confident that he will be released. However, he was picked up by one of the victims in lineup and was charged and jailed.

After 2 weeks, he was released as he has an Alibi that proves that he could not be at the scene!

It is true! “Facebook can get out of jail! ” Never thought that Social Media can be so amazing? From entertainment, to connection between friends, to socialising to a tool of marketers and now an ALIBI!

That is something commendable about Online Social Networking Sites! It records time,date and even from where you posted it! You cannot cheat! If you are tweet-ing or surfing net on Mobile! It shows!

Now I find updates on these sites are really essential. Cases like this, save your life! Even dumb updates help!

But what happens if online social network join telephone records and video cameras as means of establishing an alibi? As technology advanced, people hold different identities behind their screens, what happens if others misuse it? Then it wouldn’t be credible anymore.

I believe Online Social Network will definitely help a lot innocent people over at US! (I doubt we will have it here!)  However, there will definitely be some people who wants to test the system and abuse this form of alibi, leverage on it and escape penalties after committing a crime. It is a controversial topic.

However, I totally agree with Mr Jonathan Handel! Privacy Issue comes to question. If the Social Network Experts get to view everything that is online? Then he will probably know everything. Halt! He might be GOOGLE?

But I wonder how do one define a Social Network Expert? Will there be a diploma or even degree for that next time?

With the aid of technology and the rising popularity of Online Social Network. Everyone is going to come together. For the better or worse? Hindrance or Help?

1. A. Konseptual

Komunikasi politik sekarang telah mengalami perkembangan. Kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi membantu perkembangan komunikasi politik. Tidak hanya secara konvensional dengan cara bertemu langsung dengan cara face to face tetapi banyak cara yang dapat digunakan. Salah satunya menggunakan media internet. Beberapa layanan yang ada seperti e-mail, internet, teleconference, net-meeting, memberikan kemudahan dalam berkomunikasi politik dari bertemu secara langsung menjadi tanpa terbatas jarak. Ruang cyber memberikan inovasi berkomunikasi dan memperoleh informasi, hal ini sedikit menggeser keberadaan media cetak.

Cyberspace berasal dari bahasa Yunani, kubernan, yaitu ruang maya tanpa batas, imajinatif dan dapat dihayati melalui perwujudan virtual. Kata cyber berasal dari kata cybernetics. Pada tahun 1947, Norbert Wiener menggunakan istilah ini untuk mendefinisikan sebuah bidang ilmu yang terkait dengan elektro, matematika, biologi, neurofisiologi, antropologi, dan psikologi.[1]

Terdapat beberapa definisi dari cyberspace, antara lain:

• Cyberspace adalah sebuah halusinasi yang dialami oleh jutaan orang setiap hari (berupa) representasi grafis yang sangat kompleks dan data di dalam sistem pikiran manusia yang diabstraksikan melalui bank data setiap komputer”. (Gibson, Neuromancer 1993).

• Cyberspace adalah sebuah ‘ruang imaiiner’ atau ‘maya’ yang bersifat artifisial, di mana setiap orang melakukan apa saja yang biasa dilakukan dalam kehidupan sosial dengan cara yang baru. (Howard Rheingold)

Ruang lingkup yang luas membuat cyberspace seakan tidak mempunyai lingkup yang terbatas. Hal ini memungkinkan orang dapat saling berhubungan melalui computer dan internet. Adanya cyberpace memberikian ruang atau cara berkomunikasi politik baru. Tanpa adanya kendali kekuasaan tertentu, karena bersifat terbuka, cyberspace lebih dianggap demokratis. Tujuan utama dari Cyberspace adalah transparansi di segala bidang, terutama di bidang pemerintahan. Dengan demikian, partisipasi politik masyarakat akan lebih tinggi karena pemerintah semakin terbuka untuk mengkomunikasikan seluruh kebijakannya pada masyarakat.

Hubungan media internet dengan politik, tidak akan lepas dengan apa yang namanya blog. Blog muncul sekitar tahun 2000an. blogosphere adalah suatu sistem besar yang melibatkan banyak aktor, mulai dari blogger sampai dengan masyarakat umum.[2] Untuk lebih tahu tentang konsepsi blogosphere lihat gambat di bawah ini.

Dari Gambat tersebut terdapat empat interaksi. Pertama antara blog dengan blogger. Bagimana di dalam blog bisa memuat opininya. Banyak jenis – jenis dari blog. Salah satunya blog politik.[3] Blog politik biasanya memuat topik tentang politik kemudian diberi komentar dari para pembaca. Namun sekarang, blog digunakan sebagai sarana berkampanye. Interaksi kedua, antara blogger dengan blogger. Mereka saling bertukar pendapat mengenai sesuatu yang mereka postingkan. Interaksi ketiga, antara blogger dengan non-blogger. Opini yang ditulis diblog dapat dibaca oleh khalayak umum, hal ini bisa membentuk suatu pandangan umum tentang sebuah isu. Interaksi terakhir, non-blogger dapat mentranferkan apa yang dia baca di blog di khalayak umum. Hal ini mengapa tak heran blogosphere bisa berpengaruh terhadap isu yang berkembang di umum, termasuk tentang politik.

Berkomunikasi politik dengan menggunakan media internet memiliki kelebihan dan kekuranga. Antara lain:

v Kelebihan Cyberspace[4]

+ Memecahakan persoalan kebebasan dan demokrasi.

è memiliki keluasaan mengekspresikan pendapat dan ide. Dalam cyber-politik bebas berekspresi tanpa ada tekanan dari pihak manapun. Kita lebih bebas dalam mengungkapkan pendapat terkait sesuatu isu.

+ Penyebaran informasi yang transparan dan terbuka

è kita dapat mengakses informasi yang kita inginkan. Jalannya informasi lebih detail dan rinci. Termasuk informasi mengenai anggaran atau kebijakan negara lainnya.

+ Tempat orang menciptakan ‘otoritas’ (authority) dan kekuasaan’ (power) bagi dirinya sendiri.

è Di dalam cyberspace terdapat ‘kebebasan informasi’, kebebasan berbicara, kebebasan mengkritik. Di dalamnya juga, seseorang tidak hanya dapat mengekspresikan ego individualnya, tetapi ia juga dapat bermain di dalam ‘ruang fantasi’. Dalam media lain kita mempunyai keterbatasan dalam berpendapat. Ruang yang diberiikan tidak mampu mencakup pendapat – pendapat public. Dengan adanya internet, kita bisa menuangkan pendapat kita, misalnya mengenai isu tentang jalannya pemilu.

+ ‘ecialitanian public space’

è Semacam tempat dimana anggota masyarakat berkumpul untuk mendiskusikan ide-ide untuk memecahkan persoalan bersama. Adanya aspirasi – aspirasi biasanya kita sampaikan melalui perantara, salah satunya partai politik. Namun, sekarang partai politik tidak bisa merepresentasikan apa yang diinginkan rakyat. Dengan adanya cyber-politik ini semakan ruang diskusi terbuka dimana setiap orang dapat ikut berpendapat dan menyalurkan pendapat secara terbuka terkait isu politik yanga ada.

+ Lahan berkampanye murah

è Dengan menggunakan komunikasi ini, kita bisa melakukan kampanye yang cenderung memakan biaya yang murah.

v Kekurangan Cyberspace[5]

- Cvbercnme’ dan ‘cyberviolence’ tetap menjadi kejahatan masa depan, bahkan Ia mendapatkan tempatnya yang Iebih ‘aman’, karena sifat cyberspace yang tanpa alamat. Ruang llingkup yang luas dan terbuka membuat kadang terjadi pengekspresiaan yang tidak beretika.

- Tidak semua lapisan masyarakat dapat mengakses informasi melalui cyberspace. Selain karena membutuhkan dana lebih, sarana dan prasarana cyberspace juga belum merata. Tidak semua orang yang “melek” teknologi, maka internet hanya bisa diakses oleh orang – orang tertentu.

- Bahaya utama cyberspace bila orang memasuki batas (border) yang seharusnya tidak ia lewati. Melewati tapal batas berarti menjadi over, menjadi hyper atau menjadi ekstrim.

- Ia menciptakan ‘cyber selfishness’, seorang yang tidak bertanggungjawab secara sosial. Kenyamanan yang ditimbulkan oleh cyberspace bisa menjadi candu bagi penggunanya.

- Keleluasaan yang ditawarkan memang menggiurkan, tetapi justru terkadang hal seperti ini, yaitu tidak berhadapan langsung dengan lawan bicara, membuat kita tidak bisa mengetahui apakah sang lawan bicara mempunyai maksud yang benar seperti apa yang dia bicarakan. Tidak heran bila banyak terjadi kebohongan ataupun penipuan di dalam komunikasi cyberspace

1. B. Kontekstual

Internet merebak di Indonesia pada tahun1990an. Dimulai dari pagayuban network sekarang berkembang menjadi luas. Pengguna internet di Indonesia sekarang mencapai 33 juta orang. Hal ini juga berdampak pada komunikasi politik dengan media internet, atau sering disebut dengan cyber politic. Cyber politic di Indonesia mengalami perkembangan beberapa tahun terakhir. Banyaknya sarana yang mendukung perkembangan cyber politic seperti adanya facebook, friendster, mailing list, you tobe, dan lain – lain.

Strategi dalam berkampanye yang dilakukan dalam komunikasi politik dengan menggunakan bantuan media internet atau yang disebut dengan viral marketing. Dengan bantuan media internet kita bisa menyalurkan visi, platform, trade record calon pemimpin di sarana – sarana intenet.

Salah satu contoh kasus penggunaan media internet sebagai sarana berkampanye adalah Fadjroel Rahman, kandidat capres independent. Dia menggunakan media seperti Multiply, Facebook, MySpace, Friendster, dan berbagai from seperti Forum Pembaca Kompas, ForumITB82, dan Forum Kaskus Indonesia. Web yang dibuatnya dan diberi nama www.fadjroelrachma. com juga dimanfaatkannya untuk memkampanyekan dirinya. Dalam waktu empat hari setelah softlaunching tercatat 1000an pengunjung yang ada. Sarana internet ini juga sebagai lahan untuk mengumpulkan dana agar transparan dan akuntabel. Cara ini dilakukan karena dirasa lebih murah daripada kampanye dengan cara konfensonal seperti biasa.

Kasus lain yang menggunalan kemajuan teknologi internet adalah pasangan Achmad Heryawan dan Dede Yusuf (Hade). Pasangan Hade memenagngkan pemilihan gubernur Jawa Barat kemarin. Salah satu strategi yang gencar digunakan adalah viral marketing. Hade mengsosialisasikan visi misi mereka melalui blog, jejaring sosial. Dengan bidikan anak muda, para pencari kerja, mereka lebih dikenal dibandingan calon lainnya. Alhasil orang lebih paham dan tahu visi misi program yang mereka tawarkan.

Internet bukan hanya sebagai sarana untuk berkampanye partai politik saja. Melainkan sebagai salah satu komunikasi politik untuk membentuk opini yang berkembang. Blog bisa sebagai sebuah kekuatan politik tersendiri.[6] Dalam blog kita bisa mengekspresikan apa yang menjadi opini kita tanpa ada tekanan dari pihak manapun. Jika media massa terikat oleh kode etik jurnalistik atau terhambat oleh “tekanan” pemilik modal.[7] Blog lebig bersifat lepas, verifikasi atas informasi yang ditayangkan di Internet adalah tanggung jawab pengguna internet itu sendiri[8]. Tak heran blog dianggap salah satu bagian yang mendukung berkembangnya demokrasi. Berbagai pandangan yang berkembang dalam blogosphere memang bersifat subyektif. Tidak akan ada blog akan merumuskan suatu pandangan bersama tentang sebuah isu, karena sifat subyektifan ini bisa membuat blog memanipulasi realita sebenarnya. Namun, blog bisa memberikan titik rujukan bersama mengenai sebuah isu yang diangkat.[9]

Sebagai salah satu kekuatan politik, berekembangnya berbagai pandangan akan justru menjadi penyeimbang bagi sistem politik yang dominan oleh partai politik. [10] Partai politik sering kali memanipulasi realita yang ada agar dapat mengutungkan mereka, sedangkan adanya blog kita bisa menemukan segala pandangan mengenai isu. Salah satu contohnya weblog milik Mr. Sawali Tuhusetya yang menyuarakan suara grasroots dalam pendidikan.[11]

Keuntungan lain dari internet adalah kontrol yang susah oleh pemerintah.[12] Kebebasan berekspresi yang ditawarkan dalam blogosphere, kadang menimbulkan pemikiran yang bersebrangan dengan peraturan atau kebijakan pemerintah. Karena belum ada undang – undang yag mengenai dunia cyber. Untuk menguatkan kontrol pemerintah terhadap cyberspace maka dibuatkan Undang-Undang tentang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik. UU ini dibuat bertujuan untuk menjerat penjahat internet dan pelanggaran atas hak cipta.

Namun, adanya UU tentang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik menuai polemik tersendiri. Kasus Prita Mulyasari menjadi contoh, blogosphere menjadi sebuah kekuatan politik baru, serta menunjukan belum efektifnya UU ITE bekerja.

Prita Mulyasari terjerat pasal 27 ayat 3 Undang – undang No. 11 tentang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik. Dia didakwa telah mencemarkan nama baik RS Omni Internasional melalui email yang dikirimkan kepada 10 temannya. Dalam email tersebut dia mengeluhkan penanganan yang tidak baik dari RS Omni Internasional dan dugaan malpraktek yang dilakukan dokter di sana.

Dijebloskannya Prita ke penjara menuai banyak protes. Salah satunya dari para blogger. Mereka menenuntut pembebasan Prita. Banyak blog yang membahas tentang kasus ini sampai membuat halaman khusus. Di Facebook-pun gerakan ini merasuk ke Facebook Cause untuk mengumpulkan suara untuk mendukung pembebasan Prita Mulyasari dan kebebasan berpendapat di dunia maya secara umum.[13]

Blogosphere sebagai sebuah kekuatan politik ditunjukan dalam kasus Prita ini. Bagaimana isu yang berkembang dapat mempengaruhi pemerintah. Isu tersebut berkembang menjadi dukungan Dukungan ini diberikan sebagai tekanan sosial melawan pemerintah yang akhirnya membuat Prita Mulyasari dibebaskan dari penjara.

C. Komparasi

Sebagai pembanding cyber politic yang ada di Indonesia, kami mengambil contoh di negara yang sudah cukup bahkan sangat maju dalam teknologi yaitu pemilu presiden di AS. suatu hal yang dulunya tidak terduga ketika seorang Barack Obama yang merupakan keturunan Afrika dapat menjadi presiden AS saat ini. hal itu sangat dipengaruhi oleh bagaimana ia mengkampanyekan dirinya kepada rakyat AS. dan salah alat yang banyak berpengaruh adalah melalui jaringan yang namanya internet. dua tahun sebelum ia mencalonkan diri, namanya belum begitu mencuat dikancah politik negara Adi Kuasa tersebut. akan tetapi lewat media cyber namanya mencuat dan dikenal banyak orang.

Berkat bantuan seorang yang bernama Chris Hughes yang merupakan pendiri Facebook, kampanye obama berhasil menarik tiga juta donor. mereka menyumbang $650 juta. selain untuk menggalang dukungan suara, memang tujuannya adalah untuk mendulang banyak dana dari masyarakat. situsnya http://barackobama.com memang sudah dipersiapkan oleh tim suksesnya sehingga tidak mengherankan ketika sedikitnya 1 miliar dolar AS berhasil didapatkan. jumlah tersebut 12 kali lebih besar dibanding dana yang berhasil dihimpun John Kerry pada Pilpres 2004.

Selain melalui situs tersebut, dukungan suara juga dihimpun melalui situs jejaring sosial myBarackObama.com. dari situs jejaring ini, tim suksesnya berhasil merangkul para pendukung barack obama untuk menjadi relawan. dengan cara ini, dia berhasil mengumpulkan jumlah relawan yang lebih banyak dibanding pesaingnya, Hillary Clinton dan John McCain.

Beberapa pakar politik memang menyimpulkan internet merupakan kunci bagi Barack Obama untuk bisa maju sebagai calon Partai Demokrat dalam Pemilihan Umum Amerika Serikat. melalui media ini, Obama Senator Illinois ini unggul dari saingannya, Hillary Clinton, Senator New York. hal ini tidak menjadi sesuatu yang mengeherankan karena di Amerika Serikat, 71,9 persen atau 218,3 juta dari 303,8 juta penduduknya (catatan InternetWorldStats sampai November 2007) menggunakan internet. Bahkan internet merupakan bagian utama dalam kehidupan berpolitik di AS akhir-akhir ini.

Salah satu ide yang dimunculkannya adalah dengan membuat video musik “yes we can” yang ditayangkan di YouTube, dengan bintang tamu antara lain Jesse Dylan, Will.i.am, Common, Scarlett Johansson, Tatyana Ali, John Legend, Herbie Hancock, Kate Walsh, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Adam Rodriquez, Kelly Hu, Adam Rodriquez, Amber Valetta, Eric Balfour, Aisha Tyler, Nicole Scherzinger dan Nick Cannon yang dapat menarik kaum muda pecinta musik yang ada di sana
Selain you tube, fitur lain juga digunakan seperti facebook dan friendster yang memungkinkan obama melakukan komunikasi dengan para pendukungnya dan tempat untuk para pendukungnya menyampaikan apa yang menjadi aspirasi mereka.

Sedangkan dunia blogosphere di luar negeri menjadi suatu istilah yang tidak asing lagi. Dikaitkan dengan politik blogosphere sedikit punya pengaruh sebagai suatu penekan apa yang menjadi kebijakan suatu negara. Dalam konteks ruang lingkup internasional bahkan ada berbagai artis blogger tingkat dunia karena artikel-artikel yang dimuatnya. Sebut saja Mike Aquino dari Filipina, Jeff Ooi (Malaysia), Mr. Brown (Singapura), Mark Tafoya (Amerika Serikat), dan Anthony Bianco (Australia) yang pada tahun 2008 kemaring sempat menghadiri Pesta Blogger 2008 di Jakarta.

Mungkin kasus di luar negeri tentang blogosphere dalam politik dapat kita lihat di Malaysia yaitu Jeff Ooi yang berhasil melakukan mengambil kursi di parlemen karena adanya proses horisontalisasi politik. Di berbagai negara di dunia termasuk AS membuktikan bahwa horisontalisasi politik lebih punya ‘ngeh’. McCain yang berpolitik secara vertikal harus artinya kampanye masih menggunakan media konvensional seperti TV dan media-media lain harus membuktikan bahwa obama yang lebih banyak menggunakan media dua arah lebih punya nama dan berhasil menjadi presiden. Kembali ke Jeff Ooi yang blognya mempunyai julukan “Malaysia’s Most Influential Blog”. Ketika sebelum duduk di parlemen Jeff Ooi tidak mendapatkan coverage di media konvensional yang vertikal dan dikontrol ketat oleh pemerintah, karena itu dia membuat medianya sendiri yaitu blog dan mendapat sambutan besar secara horisontal dalam dunia blogosphere.

Kasus lain yang berkembang di Amerika, saat pemilihan presiden kemarin. Blog – blog independen mempunyai pengaruh dalam mengahantarkan isu. Sebagian besar rakyat Amerika masih mengandalkan gerai berita yang lebih mapan untuk memperoleh berita-berita umum. Karena itu blog- blog politik memperoleh banyak kunjungan. [14] Yahoo News mendapat kunjungan 41,2 juta orang pada September, disusul MSNBC dengan 34,2 juta pengunjung dan CNN dengan 33,8 juta pengunjung, demikian menurut angka comScore.ant/kp.[15]

1. D. Kesimpulan

Perbandingan antara Indonesia dan Amerika Serikat mengenai penggunaan cyber politic memang berbeda. Di AS cyber politic dinilai cukup berhasil ditandai dengan kemenangan Obama sebagai presiden Amerika yang gencar menggunakan virtal marketing. Sedangkan di Indonesia sendiri belum banyak orang berkampanye menggunakan media intenet. Masih banyak yang menggunakan banner, baliho, atau spanduk untuk menggaet massa. Penggunan cyber politic di Indonesia seakan bersifat setengah – setengah. Memang banyak sekarang yang berkampanye memasang foto mereka melalui jejaring sosial seperti facebook, namun desain dan penampilan yang biasa – biasa saja membuat orang menganggapnya spam (sampah). Dalam dunia blogger sendiri, di Indonesia berkembang peasat tetapi itu hanya terjadi untuk golonga tertentu

Banyak hal yang melatarbelakangi mengapa cyber politik di Indonesia tidak begitu berhasil. Salah satunya adalah sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia gaptek teknologi, hanya sekitar 2 % saja yang “melek” internet. Hal ini menyebabkan cyber politic bukan lah sarana yang cukup efektif untuk berkomunikasi politik di Indonesia. Di samping SDM yang kurang, teknologi yang kurang menjadi kendala. Tidak semua masyarakat dapat merasakan sarana internet. Program internet masuk desa diharapkan membantu perkembangan internet di Indonesia.

Sebenarnya masih menjadi perdebatan apakah cyber politic dirasa cukup efektif dalam komunikasi politik. Kampanye menggunakan internet bukanlah faktor penentu utama dalam kemenangan seorang calon, para pemilih lebih melihar asal usul calon daripada termakan bujuk rayu. Tetapi cyber politic menjadi salah satu alternatif baru dalam berkomunikasi politik.Kita bisa melihat secara lebih jelas tentang visi misi dan lain – lainnya. Mungkin ini lebih baik dan real daripada memasang baliho dipinggir jalan yang kadang melanggar peraturan lalu lintas.

Selain itu munculnya blogosphere sebagai cara berkomunikasi politik. Longgarnya kontrol dari pemerintah, karena dalam blog kita lebih bebas berekspresi tanpa mendapat tekanan. Tulisan –tulisan yang berkembang di blog bisa memberikan rujujan- rujuan terhadap isu tertentu.Bisa -bisa blogosphere suatu saat nanti menjadi suatu kekuatan politik yang harus diperhitungkan. Karena dapat mempengaruhi kebijakan yang dibuat pemerintah melalui tulisan – tulisan mereka di blog.

New malware could spell trouble for users of IP telephony service

Security experts have warned Skype users that new malware similar to the infamous Koobface worm that caused havoc on Facebook is now targeting the popular IP telephony service.

Trend Micro said that it detected the Koobface-like variant as TROJ_VILSEL.EA, a piece of malware designed to steal contact lists, phone numbers, locations and other information that forms part of a Skype profile.

“It is also capable of using Skype’s built-in instant messaging capability to send links to people on the affected user’s contact list,” wrote Jonathan Leopando, a member of Trend’s technical communications team, on the Trend Micro blog. “These links all go to affected domains with copies of TROJ_VILSEL.EA.”

However, Leopando explained that the new worm is not actually a member of the Koobface family.

“Both the malicious code and network behaviour differ from previously known Koobface variants. It would not be a great surprise, however, if the actual Koobface cyber criminals produce their own variant with this behaviour,” he said.

“This development only highlights the ingenuity of cyber criminals in going after targets using tried-and-tested ways to spread their malicious creations.”
