The thing is I can’t get into D.Gray-man like before. The new art style doesn’t amaze me. Now that each chapter is being release every month, the story has been pretty fast pace. Hoshino has been given the time to put more into the chapters, but I rather like it when not much was happening, but the story was developing well rather than both at the same time. Seeing the 14th show again shock me. It felt too early to bring him back. Allen has quite the strong hold on himself keeping the 14th from taking over his body. I’m excited to learn more about Kanda seeing that it has been so long and until now his past is being reveal.

Hey people, I apologize for the random break I took from my blog, but I assure you that next time this sorta thing happens, i’ll keep you all up to date with it!

Well, so far you guys didn’t miss much, same boring school schedule, meeting new people same old same old. Well, today the monthly D.Gray-Man and Ao No Exorcist came out, it’s been a very religious manga update today, huh?

D.gray-man went on a large hiatus due to creator Hoshino’s illness and apparent broken wrist, after being let go from the wildly popular weekly shonen jump and now posting in a monthly publishing company. The story is now more involved with the clan of Noah and their workings, you’re now able to see the rest of them including a new look of the Earl.

As for Ao No Exorcist, which is a relatively new series, it is about twin brothers, the elder is the apparent son of Satan who grew up in a religeous orphanage with his twin brother. After events transpired the pastor that raised Rin had been murderd and now Rin is on his way to becoming an exorcist to honor his late ”father” his younger twin brother who you find out is already a teacher at the academy without Rin knowing, it’s ultimately an action packed student-love drama with intense action and great comedy, it’s relatively new with a monthly release so I suggest you check it out!

Now, I just read 34 chapters of a new manga, called Mysterious Girlfriend X. 

One day, a strange transfer student appears before Tsubaki. Urabe Mikoto is an antisocial girl, whose hobby is just sleeping during class-breaks. One day, Tsubaki goes to wake her up and accidentally tastes her drool… And gets hooked on that! After that, he starts going out with her and gets to know her better. Her second hobby, as it turns out, is carrying around scissors in her panties and cutting paper into flowers…

Surprisingly this series is really funny and easy to relate to, in a relationship or not, Tsubaki is someone I can relate to alot, he doesn’t hold himself to high on a pedestal and he doesn’t have the best self-esteem and has a tough time with doing anything with Urabe, in fear that she may not like him or reject his advances . I can also relate to the anti-social Urabe because of her lack of communication skills, she’s not good with sharing her feelings with others, i’d say we’re alike up till the drool and scissor panty attacks…

Well, I have yet to watch Dexter and the latest Mega64 so expect those two reviews to make their second post appearance tomorrow, until then my friends, I suggest you read Mysterious Girlfriend X aswell as the other manga titles I talked about, you will NOT regret it!

<So He Muses>

Blood splattered on the ground as the sound of gunshots rang throughout the field. Screams could be heard, its contents spoke of incomprehensible fear and terror as the bloodbath ensued. While the cause of the screams may be tremendously dissimilar, the results were very much the same; loud waves of indecipherable sound crashing at one’s ear drums, tearing at them with sharp steel knives.

Those screams, he mused, has got to be some of the most amusing sounds on Earth.

Thousands more of them surrounded the building, and the second wave of massacre began. It was a relatively small city; large enough to capture a fair amount of attention, but isolated enough so that the Black Order wouldn’t be able to quickly send reinforcements. (Infamous quote from Road-sama: “Fuck you, exorcist.”) The Millennium Earl planned everything precisely, even to the nanoseconds.

-So maybe not that exact, but close enough.

Ten..

Nine..

Eight..

Seven-argh.-Three-two-one-zero!

Evil cackled.

“AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!” More gunshots filled the air, and the fragile creatures known as humans screamed as their blood tainted the soaked crimson floor. He chuckled in satisfaction- such lovely melodies they make as they die.

He levitated through the sea of corpses, scanning around the area for any sign of surviving preys. No doubt they were hiding, cowering in fear at the face of death. As far as he was concerned, this only made it all the more entertainments for him. A game of hide and seek- well, he could humor them and play along for a bit. The monster scanned around, grinning maniacally as he searched for his prey. A plank creaked, and a girl who could be no older than thirteen squeaked as she felt hundreds of guns and cannons pointed at her within the flash of a second.

The girl had looked around in panic as if wishing-, no, begging for this all to be a nightmare and that she’d wake up any second. The sky outside glowed crimson as dawn approached, and there was a sickening stench of blood looming around the city like a grim reaper. Scarlet red has invaded her visionary world, and she couldn’t escape. She was going to drown.

He, being the cold and ruthless demon he was, only laughed at her expression.

“P-please…d-don’t kill me…I-I b-beg y-you-..p-please..” The girl stuttered out in a whisper as she curled up in a ball against the wall. She looked up at his looming figure with tear-stained eyes, and he eyed her back in indifference.

A weapon solely designed to kill had no heart, after all. Few seconds later, he floated above what was left of the girl’s body; a crimson pool of blood.

His growing inner consciousness grinned in malice at the accomplishment.

His soul weeped.

Darkness. It’s his cover. It’s his light. It’s his worst fear to be enshroud by that darkness, yet he knows that he cannot run from it.

The very essence of that suffocating darkness is him, and himself alone. He is a darkness, and he serves as a pawn in a Devil’s conspiracy to destroy humanity. He is a weapon that was solely designed to kill; a machine to murder.

He is an evil.

He is an Akuma.

Level: I (1) /Some-introduction-sort-of-thing./

————-

This machine knew only destruction, and as a level 1 Akuma, he cared not for anything else. He had no voice- his despair unheard- and his soul silently bleeds. His memories were blurred and fuzzy. Hell- the Akuma wasn’t even sure if he was really a ‘he’, but that had little meaning to him.

Orders were the only thing that the Akuma followed. Orders were the only thing that he could follow. The Millennium Earl’s orders…other Noah’s orders…higher leveled Akuma’s orders…et cetera. A level 1 Akuma have neither a heart, will, nor a mind. They are the perfect pawns in war- obedient, easy to create, massive in numbers, strong enough to kill- and adding to that with the fact that nobody will miss them when they perish- you have the impeccable army.

All Akuma look alike during this stage, where telling the difference between two is difficult beyond belief. They all have a huge circular and boulder-like base, harshened by the cannons sprouting out of it like a spike ball. A gray mask face locates itself on the upper surface, and sinister, intertwining, vines drooped from the bottom. It was a fearsome sight to see, and their appearance earned them little sympathy from everyone else.

To sum it up, you wouldn’t want to be a level 1 Akuma.

Well, you may think that since an Akuma doesn’t have a mind or a heart, it wouldn’t feel anything, thus uninfluenced by the suffering in the rotten world. But no; an Akuma just has to have a soul, and a soul can do both the functions of a heart and mind. The differences you ask? When the heart and mind suffer, the body will actually do something about it, but when the soul suffers… well, let’s just say that the body is a cold heartless bastard towards the soul and doesn’t give a damn. So an Akuma gets the bad deal out of both.

However, there are certain salvations for a level 1 Akuma. Since they are weak(er than other Akuma), the exorcists has a better chance of destroying them, thus saving their souls.

Another one is, of course, when they level up…

Level: II. (2) /The Rewinding Town./

You were assigned on a mission.

The location was none other than the Rewinding Town.

The Millennium Earl suspected that Innocences may be in the foul play. Your mission, along with few others of your kind, was to accompany Mistress Road to the indicated place and to retrieve/destroy the innocence before the exorcists get their greedy clutches on it.

Maiming and killing, were naturally allowed.

You had only recently leveled up after killing dozens of humans, and you were thrilled at the opportunity to kill more. You were much stronger from a level 1 Akuma, and you gained several new abilities. Your physical appearance were also improved and unique in shape. Best of all, you were able to think and talk! You couldn’t wait to try out all your new abilities. But of course- the mission came first before killing, and mistress Road’s orders came before everything.

You, along with two other Akuma, hid at a restaurant under a human disguise, waiting for the chance to kill. A male exorcist with white hair walked in, greeting a female exorcist and sat in the same table as her. A female human sat down a few tables away from the exorcist duo. She was acting very strangely, you noted.

You watched the three humans interact, until an idea developed in your head. Three victims, you chuckled. Mistress Road’s orders has yet to arrive, but patience ran thin. These three foolish humans wouldn’t be missed. It appeared that the other Akuma had the same thoughts, for they began to move.

This alerted the white-haired exorcist of their presence, and he activated his innocence. Fool. The Millennium Earl would be pleased if you slaughter as many exorcists as you could, and it was your full intention to do so. The female exorcist ran off carrying the other human along with her while you and the Akuma focused on the parasitic-wielding exorcist. He was strong, but also an idiot to challenge three level 2 Akuma at the same time.

A petty argument began when deciding on the tactic to execute the exorcist, and the white-haired exorcist took advantage of this distraction. Filthy and low creatures, these humans are. Nevertheless, you were pissed, and all three Akuma in your group were out for the annoying brat’s blood. You tensed your body, preparing to attack until-

“Wait.”

It was mistress Road.

You froze.

“Looks like fun, but aren’t you guys forgetting about retrieving the Innocence? Come back to me.”

A Noah’s orders were law.

You instantly leapt through the rooftop, heading back to mistress Road. There would be a time to kill the next time.

Listen to this, Akuma. I have established the plans. You are to wait and observe the female and cute white-haired exorcist. They will definitely be able to lead us to the Innocence. Oh, and also keep a look out for the weird witch-looking human that they are hanging out with! Understand, A-ku-ma~? This is the one and only, Mistress Road’s order!~

You nodded in ecstasy while listening to Mistress Road’s command. Disappointment for the delay was inevitable, but certainly it all didn’t matter as long as blood were spilled eventually.

Compliments to mistress Road, for she soon found a solution to the problem. As it turned out, the “weird witch-looking human” was compatible with the innocence in the Rewinding town- the Innocence being an old clock that the human owned. During this time, your fellow Akuma had much to do. An attack was ordered on the female and white-haired exorcist while mistress Road paid a visit to the “weird witch-looking human”’s house, dragging along the said human herself. After all, it would be rude for guests to visit with the host unavailable for visiting (not that the mistress cared much for rudeness, really).

Beyond that, the loli-goth Noah also took the liberty to drag along the unresponsive (due to one of the Akuma’s attack) female exorcist for a dress-up game as well as the other exorcist. She took off the white-haired exorcist’s Black Order jacket and wore it for her own amusement. After securing the captive, she then proceeded to write her ‘infamous quote’ (as mentioned previously somewhere) onto the wall with blood for the world to see. It occurred to you that mistress Road could be as sadistic as she was sweet.

Things soon dramatized by the awakening of the white-haired exorcist. You found out that his name was Allen Walker, the female exorcist’s name being Lenalee Lee, and the pathetic one as Miranda Lotto. You watched mistress Road torture Allen Walker with every word, but stiffened as the human made a move in attempt to counter. Either the human was a masochist or simply down-right foolish, for he stopped few inches away from hitting her. (Bah; humans- you would never understand them.) The mistress only took this opportunity to further torture him, until he snapped.

A fight ensued, with Allen Walker at an obvious disadvantage until that pathetic human- Miranda Lotto’s Innocence activated. This turned the tide of the battle, and the exorcist began fighting back. Lenalee Lee revived into action, and you did your best to fend them off. They had the advantage of healing at their side, and mistress Road was in no mood to help. Soon, you and your fellow Akuma grew fatigue of the non-resting battles and some Akuma perished. (In your defense, the exorcists were cheating with all the healing!)

By the time mistress Road decided to interfere, you were the only one left. She had a cordial talk with Allen Walker while you silently wished for the mistress to rip all the exorcists’ head off. After talking, Mistress Road suddenly turned towards you, and said:

“You there. Self-destruct.” The words rang through your ears repeatedly, and at first you could not comprehend it through your surprise.

Soon the shock ebbed away, and your world froze along with the comprehension of that sentence.

The Akuma frowned. Self-destruct…? Destruct…self…he would die? No! It couldn’t be. He had just reached level 2! And through all that hard work too! He still had much to do- much more humans and exorcists to kill, and much to destroy. He didn’t want to die…he didn’t want to be destroyed…he didn’t want to disappear! …Erased from existence…NO! He didn’t want to die! Disappear forever…erased from existence- NO! NO! NO! HE DIDN’T WANT TO DIE; HE DIDN’T WANT TO BE ERASED! HE DIDN’T WANT TO-

“A Noah’s orders were law.”

And with that sentence, it sealed everything.

“B-but…”You voiced your protest in vain, for you knew the Noah would not change her mind.

“Now.” Road said in emphasize. The talking umbrella, Lero, then began the countdown to the end of your life.

“Ten.” You were going to die.

“Nine.” Die.

“Eight.” Erased. Destroyed. Dead.

“Seven.” You desperately tried to cling onto the last few fragments of living. You didn’t catch what passed between the Noah and the exorcists because your thoughts were occupied, but Allen Walker was clearly disturbed by whatever was said.

“Six.” You didn’t want to die-.. You didn’t want to die! YOU DIDN’T WANT TO DIE!-

“Five.” You saw the white-haired exorcist ran towards you, Innocence extended and activated in a panic. It didn’t matter much, for there was no escaping death either way; death by self-destruct, or death by an exorcist’s hand.

“Four.”

After so many times of taking worthless human’s lives, were you now finally feeling what your victims felt as they were stolen of their life? Their fear, their desperateness, their despair and their anguish? Was your life going to be stolen this time? Was this the end?

“Three.” You saw the exorcist drawing nearer and nearer, but not nearly fast enough. Time never waits, and you knew that your time was soon up.

“Two.” The female exorcist sprang into action. She quickly caught up to the white-haired exorcist and pushed him away from you. He cried out and reached forward, but she persisted.

“One.” Death was knocking at your door. You had finally accepted that you were going to die- that there was no escaping death. Thus with finality, you opened the door and greeted Death. Death sneered at you.

“Zero.” And with that, the countdown to the end of your life was over.

The world exploded in a puff of nothingness. You felt your life leaving you. All the kills you made, all the things you had achieved- they all left you. You were dissolving into nothingness, and there was nothing you could to do stop it. An air of acceptance accompanied your eternal sleep. The foolish and pathetic exorcists must be rejoicing upon your death.

Humans, you noted, were something you never understood and never intended to.

But why, you couldn’t help but muse as the last speck of your life faded away. Why…

That white-haired human…exorcist…why…

…Why was he crying?…

And so he muses.

Lenalee hitched her breath when he walked out with his new haircut (production of the last harsh battle): now it emphasized his scar, messy in adorable way, and that roughness of the cut–his silky locks now stuck out everywhere in different directions–showed he wasn’t the same tidy, polite Allen.  He was still a man and sweet-talker, but there was something hidden deep, far in his eyes.

He was a very good actor, indeed.

Nothing.  Nothing changed in him after those fourteenth thingy, not even a single milli of his smile shrunk, not even his all-innocent actions gone.  Nevertheless, his eyes determined, focused, and… scared.

No.  Maybe it was not fear she saw in his eyes.  Allen…

…was sad.

Why didn’t he show them everything?  His despair, his sorrow, his anger…  That mask of his was just too much for a facade.  Lenalee was certain she never saw someone could put such persona while he was so dark–and pure at the same time.  His burden… If she were to have his fate, would she stay strong for her friends?  Would she just eat like nothing ever happened?  Would she just burst a carefree laugh when a lousy joke was thrown?

Lenalee couldn’t say which one she liked better, the old sugarcoated Allen or the new one.  The gray man (he was worth a man after everything he has been through) standing several feet in front of her was a mature version of the one she met long time ago.  Back then he was so free and teen and pats on his snowy head would be the best way to thank him (just like a cute puppy) but now it would be a wine for him above the table, fist greeting on his broad shoulder to tell him he was the man.

His jaw defined, his muscles sharpened, and his back widened.

She liked the way he talked now–without those honorifics–because it made her felt closer to him.  He was so far right now that she couldn’t reach out for him; there was always an invisible wall surrounded him and that blood-like fire dancing twirling around him.  Even though she was on his arms, protected and loved, their body pressed against each other, so near that she could lick his sweat off his firm neck, smell his scent mixed with rust (blood! she screamed silently) and tiredness; she still couldn’t find Allen.

Perhaps he did that so no one knew he was putting more distance.

Was he afraid that he would harm them?  He would destroy ones he loved the most?

It wasn’t that Lenalee full of herself that she thought she was one of his beloved (she blushed at the thinking); of course, there were people better than her to take that place.  Still, whoever she was to him, he wouldn’t hurt her in any way.

Well, he would if he kept his reborn confidence.  If she didn’t know him well, she would judge him as a Casanova.

He was too good at manipulating.  No one could deceive people the way he did–and look at how much burden he got!  People all depended on him!  And she… from the first place, as the nuisance of the group, she had been grabbing his sleeves for safety.

His smile melted people he wanted to be his comrades.  He got some serious back-ups if he wanted to say ‘help’. They would be there for him, sure, but he never called anyone for it.

Fourteenth.

“If the time comes, please kill me,” his crispy voice echoed, fresh on her ears.  “But… it won’t happen that way.  If the Fourteenth tries to attack the order–” which Lenalee damn believed he would not, “I’ll stop him.  You’ll see.”

And Allen would not be alone when the time really came.  She was there.  Everyone would be there.

Allen was gonna make it for sure.

Ah, and he was hotter with his new hair.

A.N.: This is my very first D. Gray-Man fic.  I’ve been downloading all volumes this week and found this manga is very interesting and sweet.  True it is rather cliché when the heroine of the story carried the biggest burden, but well, that’s the lovely point!

I downloaded Soul Eater too, I have read it until the fourth volume, and I still couldn’t find the charm.  Wonder why it ranked high on onemanga.

i just begin to watch d gray man again….. i think i have watch it 3 times already ^_^ from ep 1-103. Haaaaaa. Just love this ep. It’s one of my favorites in this anime.

Katsura Hoshino – Viz – 2009 – 18+ volumes

Speaking of series where oblique references to religion lost me… To be fair, only the Noah’s Ark stuff has much to do with this series, as far as I can see, and it seems to be used well.  And none of that comes up in this volume.

What does happen here is a massive, massive fight for possession of the egg that the Exorcists claimed at the end of last volume.  A whole slew of characters are introduced (or re-introduced), and I was a bit lost as far as that goes, but it doesn’t really matter, because the fighting is non-stop, and as much as I like the art… I could not tell what was going on.  At all.  This wasn’t even an issue of it not being clear what was going on, or not knowing the characters.  There were just swords and guns and beams and elongated bodies and akuma parts flying all over the place, and I couldn’t tell who was winning or losing or what was even going on.

The commentary helps.  Allen alternately seems to be the core of the battle, doing extremely well and extremely poorly.  Allies are lost to akuma powers, I think, and something rather terrible happens to the egg at the end, and there’s something loose in the facility that is causing an evacuation and several last-ditch efforts.  That was pretty interesting.  That may mean it will settle down into the one-on-one fighting next volume, which is easier to take.  The art is quite good, and I like the character designs and use of positive and negative space a lot, but a big, busy battle is not what it was meant for.

I’m still struggling along with the plot and characters, and this volume was mostly a halt because of the fight.  I’ll keep reading though, because I do like Allen Walker, and I am interested to see what Lenalee is going to get up to next volume.  It promises to be something plot-breaking, I think.

D.Gray Man – Road Kamelot

So D.Gray Man was dropped because it was all pretty much bullshit. All fillers apparently. Too bad too, because it had such promise to be a great show. I hear that the manga is really good, and I don’t doubt that, but I’m far to lazy to actually read it. However, the anime did have some sick characters, the best of them belongnig to the Noah clan. And the best of these being, of course, Road (Rhode?). She’s awesome, and here’s why:

• Her skin color is actually gray….I wonder if she can still get a cab?
• HORIZONTAL STRIPED SOCKS (or whatever those are)! YES!
• Purple hair! Helloooo, she’s gotta be in my top coolest looking characters list!

But enough about looks, she’ s awesome because she’s got that something about her, sort of an arrogance. Arrogance is awesome, especially when your dressed in high, horizantal striped socks and have purple hair and gray skin. She almost reminds me of Franken Fran with those marks on her forehead, which just adds to how cool she looks. Oh, and she likes candy. Oh, and despite her looks, she’s actually one of the oldest clan members. If you read this wikipedia page about her, you can see even more reasons why she’s one of the coolest characters ever. Sadism? Fucking awesome. Too bad Wikipedia is always sometimes wrong.

Deathnote – Light Yagami

Okay, so the way that he kills people isn’t really “bad ass.” I might even say that it probably doesn’t even feel like you’re really killing someone when all you do is write down their name and picture their face. But, God damn it, Light has got to be the best tactician in anime. Lelouch couldn’t even put up with the likes of Light. I mean, Light planned….well, I don’t want to say exactly. But the longer that the show carried on without a BAM moment, the bigger the BAM moment was when it came. And it was mainly all Light (L was cool too, in fact it took me a while to decided between Light and L..but Light got the better of L in the end, soo).

Light can almost never be outsmarted (until the inevitable end….and a kid beat him? Really? That kid was like….13 years old.)

Denpa Teki na Kanojo – Ochibana

Here’s a character who could be one of my favorites, if she wasn’t just in one OVA episode (two more are slated to come out, however). Personally, I love the hair, I love the weirdness, and if you’re ever getting beat to death by a delusional girl with a bat, she’ll somehow come get you and rescue you. She’s almost the perfect female character.

Detroit Metal City – Soichi Negishi/Johannes Krauser II

Is there anything better than an alter ego/skitso/etc? Nope. Not much. I almost thought about picking the President, because whenever she talks it’s just fucking hilarious. But come on…really?

Negishi is a pussy. Krauser kicks ass. Put them both together and you’ve got a character that sometimes loses his mind, and calls the girl he likes a pig whore, and that he’s going to rape her. Then he makes up some excuse, and she believes him. Negishi kind of sucks, but without him, Krauser would only be a little bit kick-ass awesome. I don’t know if you noticed, but Krauser raped a tower.

D.N. Angel – Emiko Niwa

I’m going to summerize this choice with one sentence:

She encourages her son to steal.

What more can you ask for?

Dragonball – Goku

I mean, come on, Goku wins in this series hands down. You can’t really go wrong with a kid who’s pretty much oblivious to everything around him, including how unnatural his own strength is, and kicks ass all over the place. He’s just fucking awesome. And he’s got a tail. You know, I used to want a tail at one point in my life, just to see what it feels like.

Dragonball Z – Vegeta

See that picture? I shouldn’t have to explain why Vegeta is the best character in DBZ. He’s fucking awesome. He’s a bad ass Sayain with a sick ass voice (dubbed version). He’s also evil (until they make a mistake and make him a good guy). He kicks ass and is the shit. Easily my favorite character in DBZ, and one of my favorite characters ever.

Dragonball GT – Goku/Vegeta Fusion

Yea. I’ll let that video be the explanation. Also, on farther inspection, I need to rewatch this show because I really can only remember bits and pieces.

After watching the first few episodes of D.gray-man, a friend turned to me and said, “Wow, it’s kind of dark for a kids’ show.” Yes, compared to the other shonen anime on tv at the time (Naruto, Bleach, One Piece), it was darker. A young orphan (because you can’t have a shonen story without an orphaned main character) sells his soul to bring back to life the man who was like a father to him, only to have him come back as an evil body-snatching weapon o’ evil. Luckily Young Orphan Boy, hence to be known as Allen, escapes with only a scar over one eye and the ability to see other evil body-snatching weapons o’ evil, called Akuma. Oh, and he also learns that he’s something called an Exorcist and must team up with other Exorcists to hunt down the Akuma and their maker, the Millennium Earl.

The show is dark–there’s no denying that–but that’s what made me fall in love with it! It also balances the dark, soul-crushing angst storylines with pure delightful cracktastic ones. And once we’ve laughed away the depression from the last story arch, often thanks to the wacky Exorcists’ Science Division, we are plunged once again into another story where “bad things happen.”

The characters are fleshed out wonderfully. You have no idea who will become a major character and who is just the damsel-in-distress of the month. I always find it a nice surprise when I’ve resigned myself to saying au revoir to a minor character when a storyline has drawn to its close only to discover that not only will that minor character be sticking around, but they will be kicking much butt as they do so!

The animation is beautiful. It’s a bit jarring if you are coming over from the manga, which has its own unique gothic style. A lot of people complained when the anime first came out that it was “too” beautiful. The motion and fight scenes are awesome and thankfully we get a lot of them. The background theme music made me giggle the first time I heard it because it does seem to borrow a lot from Harry Potter’s Hogwart’s theme, but it’s easily gotten over.

If nothing in this article convinces you that this is a series worth seeing, maybe this will: EVEN THE FILLER EPISODES ARE GOOD!! Ah, filler episodes. They are famous for killing the Rurouni Kenshin anime series and for making everyone want to spork out their eyes at the TWO YEARS of Naruto filler. (Sharks in Ninja vests! Argh!) But D.gray’s filler is…good. It’s enjoyable! It even enhances the plot! Gasp! It helps that both the manga writer and a novelist worked together to come up with the filler storylines. They fill in gaps that happen in the manga storyline, give personality and back story to characters we briefly met, and just make the overall story a bit more satisfying.

For those of you who aren’t fans of multiple episode fight scenes, maybe this won’t be your thing. Fans of other shonen titles should definitely give this a try. I think it’s one of the worthier titles Jump has put out in recent years.

Summary: The Black Order comes under attack by the Earl and some Noahs. There is talk about the “Alma Karma”, created from a research 9 years ago. Which also happens to be the reason behind the attack.

Unable to come up with a decent summary actually, since I’m still quite baffled by the huge string of events which is happening after the half-a-year break from the manga.

O yeah, I wasn’t planning to blog this series initially, but since I found out it’s gonna be published monthly… I think it’s due to the author’s health or something? Well, I’d rather have it monthly than irritatingly long breaks in between..

First off, I needed to read the previous chapter (187 which was published sometime in August), which I did, as a matter of fact, twice. And woah, what a torpedo of information. The surfacing of the Noah members, the Second exorcists, Alma Karma.. The first time I read I was like, “W-What’s happening?“.

And Kanda, I see he’s gonna be the crux of this arc. From the looks of it, Alma was his best friend when the both of them were the test objects of the experiment, and the Order kept the fact that Alma is still alive from Kanda. The Earl seems to be expecting Kanda to go against the Order after this secret is revealed to him.

The Black Order is a very dubious entity in itself, I wouldn’t be surprised if they did something really nasty to Kanda and Alma in that incident 9 years ago.

By the way, I was hoping the Earl would keep his more-human-form instead of the fat guy. Tsk.
