It has been quite some time since I last posted and I’m glad to say the traffic through my small blog has kept up quite nicely.  Now Don’t get to bent out of shape at me… I come barring excuses.

1. I quite my job to photograph- This excuse should explain  itself. There are many pitfalls one can encounter  in such an endeavor.
2. Personal reasons-  The long and short of it, I’m now on the coast ( Wilmington, NC ) sleeping on the floor of a friends house.   This has now been the situation for about a month.

So, I never thought that this would be easy. I never said I would do well at it… But I’m doing it and that is what matters most. Most people don’t get that far. So with that being said, “Sorry to have taken so long”. But in the midst of tragedy some good work has emerged and I’m in full swing, working on my portfolio.

So, in the next couple weeks I’ll so you my NEW, REAL studio and all of it’s gear, as well as updates on my portfolio shoots… but for now. Some new work. Enjoy.

As you can probably tell, I’m starting to find a style. This however is going to be a long process. Hope you liked it.

What I have here are the factory Air Conditioning controls out of a ‘69-’71 Dodge truck. The controls themselves are in great shape, and seem to work well too. The bezel looks nice, but has been ground out a little for a slightly bigger radio? I don’t have a stock radio to check it with, I’m just judging by the grinder marks around the radio opening… For that mater, I don’t have any radio at all for it (wait, maybe I do. ask if you want me to check). Nor do I have a truck to put it in, so I guess someone will have to buy it from me. $50obo

I have here a pair of tail light trim rings for a ‘65.5-’71 Dodge pickup truck. I would run them on my Custom cab ‘68, but to be plainly honest, I don’t like the look of them. The pair I have are in fair condition, with minor pitting, and a little blue overspray. One is missing a couple of the mounting studs, but still sat tight to the truck. $20 + shipping.

Too many hobbies, too little time.

This bike is done, and it’s gorgeous (this picture is from the day I brought the frame home, which was probably four weeks ago. I finished building it about two weeks ago). Building it and riding it are two of the many things I’ve been doing instead of photography. I got back home Wednesday from a six day backpacking trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway area of western North Carolina (unfortunately, we were blown off Mt. Mitchell by a hailstorm, but nearby Linville Gorge is incredibly beautiful and has some of the most technical trails I’ve ever hiked), and spent that week surrounded by people who are enthusiastic about photography. This made me want to get back to shooting. Hopefully I will.

Apparently I’ve missed a few things since I’ve been, well, doing other things. I’m a bit of a gear nerd, and I’m working on catching up on the things I’ve missed. Most notable so far:

-Pentax’s K-x, which I can find precious little information about but has an impressive buzz (good for Pentax)

-Pentax’s K-7, which doesn’t seem that impressive to me (come on, Pentax, I thought a K#D would be a professional model, not a K20D with the zero dropped)

-Nikon’s D300s, which means my body of choice is now 1 1/2 iterations out of date

-Canon’s 7D, which is yet another violation of the number-of-digits-before-the-D-connotes-the-level rule (definitely not worth converting over)

I’m sure there’s plenty more that I’ve missed (unfortunately, this does not seem to include a $50 35mm f/1.2 Nikkor or a $75 10-20mm f/2.8, though I am still looking), but I’ll catch up eventually. For now, I need to start shooting again (and to get a Nikon lens that will go wider than 50mm. Or longer).

I was walking out of school when I notice that the new business building is really taking shape and looking nice. I noticed the beautiful skies that afternoon and how the building was designed to reflect the skyscape. It’s interesting how even architects have to borrow the glory of Almighty’s creation to cloth their designs with splendour.
