One of the biggest reasons why I love the music produced by the Jacksons is the choreography in the music videos.  With the release of Janet Jackson’s latest work, I felt that this is a good time to show everyone else what I see in Jackson made music videos.

My baby is sick and since we share almost everything I’m afraid that i’m gonna be the same in just a few hours. I hope I’m wrong or that is my turn being a lucky bastard because I don’ t want to… no, not again…

Endlich! Ich habe es geschafft! Das Musikvideo (mein erstes) zu meinem neuen Song “Dance into Death” ist ENDLICH fertig. Ich habe bis spät in die Nacht geschuftet, aber ich hoffe, es hat sich gelohnt. Der Upload auf Youtube läuft noch. Ich geh jetzt pennen, werde aber morgen das Video endlich in mein Blog stellen.

Entção, em busca de assunto para o blog, me deparei com esse estilo de dança para Hard Trance. É estranho pensar, mas existem grupos de dança para esse estilo. Algo que jamais havia imaginado.

É um estilo de dança agressivo que nasceu em 99-2000 nos Países Baixos. Ela srugiu com Dana van Dreven (DJ Dana) e com alguns caras do Hardcore, como Pavo, Darkraver, Luna e The Prophet. Juntos formaram a compania de dança holandesa chamada Q-Dance, que fazem a festa Sensation Black. Sobre essa festa, no Brasil ela veio sob o nome Skol Sensation White Party, a versão White desta festa que é feita com os estilos Trance e house da e-music. A Sensation Black é a festa de  Hard Trance e Hardcore Gabble do mesmo grupo – não o Skol o Q-Dance, tá?!

Para se ter uma idéia do tamanho disso, a Q-Dance fatura cerca de 5% do PIB da Holanda.

E como tudo na e-music, esse estilo de dança se subdivide:

Rebolation/ Hardstep:

Criado no Brasil, com uma mistura de samba + shuffle e alguns outros ritmos mais a batida eletronica fizeram o Rebolation o novo fenomeno nacional em questão de dança. Seus passos misturam um estilo Michael Jackson com o gingado Brasileiro, dando um ar descontraido

Melbourne shuflle

É um estilo de dança, originado em meados de 1980 nas periferias de Melbourne. O movimento básico nesta dança é o “running man” no qual parece que o dançarino está deslizando rapidamente pela superfície, e mexem o braço em movimentos aleatórios, dançado com vários estilos de música eletrônica, que geralmente variam de 140 a 160 bpm.

Jumpstyle

É uma dança e um genêro musical praticado principalmente na Europa, especialmente nos Países Baixos, Bélgica, Alemanha, e norte da França. A dança também é chamada de Jumpen (palavra inglesa Jump + sufixo holandês -en que significa “pular”, ou “pulando”). O Jumpstyle surgiu em 1997 na Bélgica.
A música que acompanha o Jumpstyle é descendente do Happy hardcore e Gabber. Suas batidas são geralmente entre 135 a 190 BPM. Mas ela não pode ser encarado como um simples avanço do Gabber. É caracterizada por uma 909 kick drum usadas em 4 tipo de batidas. Ela também tèm influências de Chicago House e Hard dance

I got a phone call today from a dearest apologizing for recent circumstances I vented about in earlier blogs; and no, it had nothing to do with said blog. For the most part not a whole bunch know of this blog, my church family and maybe my fiance (if he listens, haha), and maybe a few passerby’s. As Thanksgiving is upon us, I am thankful to a God who listens to prayers and is the mender of little pot holes in life. Most of us graduating from Bible college struggle with “rightly living” because so many views and opinions are presented to us, I understand where they were coming from and why they felt the way they did. But all is well. And for that I’m happy, we’re meeting for coffee on Friday and I’m just thankful all is smooth.

And it is now I wish to bestow a request, a prayer request to those of you that pray. The first request is that I have been asked to dance again at a friend’s church for their Christmas Cantata. I haven’t danced in years and I’m a bit giddy at the opportunity, it’s been so long since I could use my body in the art of praise and worship I would love to go back to it again. But, I’m not sure if my body is up to it, as it has been a while. The reason I had to stop dancing was because of my knee, so we’ll see. I’m going to practice a bit this week and see how it feels, but the thought of doing fouette en tournant’s again bring some sparkle to my mind again.

The second request is that I’m getting ready to embark on a sort of spiritual journey, one of cleansing and prayer and getting reacquainted with my old soul. I’ve been preparing myself for a particular kind of fast and I’m a bit anxious about it, granted, it will start after Thanksgiving because who wants to miss out on Turkey? Not I. But I have been cleared by my doctor, a miracle in of itself with my kidney’s and he thinks this form of fasting may actually help with my kidney stones. Here’s hoping. But if you could pray for strength and perseverance on my end, that’s be much appreciated.

If there’s one thing in this lifetime I hate is cleaning, but I suppose it is an act of worship to God to maintain what He has given me – so I must strike while the iron is hot…

What is  Zumba?  It is merging of latin and international rhythms with basic dance steps to create a fun and effective workout filled with laughter, energy and a whole lot of shaking and shimmying.

Pay close attention…THIS is how it’s done!

The lovely and talented Pia Reyes, Miss November 1988, was the first Filipino model to appear in Playboy.

“I am an ethnic jumble,” says Pia Reyes. … “My parents had their Filipino friends — my Mom was always cooking this smelly fish — but I grew up like a white suburban kid. I played lacrosse, basketball and tennis. (“Thrilla from Manila,” Playboy, November 1988)

They called her article, “Thrilla From Manila,” but actually she grew up in Havertown, Pennsylvania. In case you don’t get the title (which makes you absolutely no son of mine), it is a reference to the third and final fight between heavyweight boxers Cassius “Muhammad Ali” Clay and Joe Frazier for the title of Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World, which took place in the Philippines on October 2, 1975.

The fight finally brought to a conclusion a bitter rivalry that had been going since 1971, that for my money is one of the best stories in the history of sports (where is its movie, Hollywood???). This one’s got it all, guys: draft-dodging, personal jealousies, the backdrop of major historical events, the freaking President getting involved, even. And through it all, two very different but very contentious personalities, Frazier and Ali, duking it out verbally and physically, in the press and in pre-fights. In the Thrilla in Manila, they went fourteen grueling, brutal rounds, both fighting to the point of almost total physical exhaustion before boxing official Eddie Futch declared Ali the victor (he said at the time it was to spare Frazier’s life, although really either could have gone).

Frazier protested stopping the fight, shouting “I want him boss,” and trying to get Futch to change his mind.

Futch simply replied, “It’s all over. No one will forget what you did here today”, and signaled to the referee to end the bout. Ali was therefore declared the victor.

He would later claim that this was the closest to dying he had ever been, and also stated, “Joe Frazier, I’ll tell the world right now, brings out the best in me. I’m gonna tell ya, that’s one helluva man, and God bless him.”

In a brief post-fight interview with one of the commentators, Ali announced, “He is the greatest fighter of all times, next to me.” (the wiki)

Do you even understand how major all of that is? Boxing is not as violent as you think, and it’s not always just big fat guys hugging (I always say, “Get a room or start punching”), not when you have two men in the ring as skilled as Frazier and the Greatest. Though you seldom see it at the heavyweight level, you see it more often with middle and welter (not bantam as much cause they’re so quick it’s like the cockfight from which their category’s name comes), it’s a graceful and carefully plotted series of moves, like a bloody ballet, it’s like … like art. It’s a dance. And you have these two combatants who are so equally matched that they are like hell-soul-mates, made to fight each other. That’s just, it’s just — like… god… oh, man, I honestly get misty just thinking about that event. That is some great motherfucking sports right there. I wish I had been born to see it firsthand, but I’ve watched clips of it on ESPN classic. (Boy, I miss having that) Le sigh.

As an epilogue, this story gets even better, in my opinion, because dig this: In June of 2001, guess who met for a grudge match on the Thrilla in Manila fight? Their freaking daughters. The fight was re-enacted, sort of, in New York by Laila “She Bee Stingin’” Ali and Jackie “Sister Smoke” Frazier-Lyde in what the press called Ali/Frazier IV. Laila, sixteen years younger than Jackie and with a little more training under her belt, took it in eight. But I love that both of them went for it! What a great story.

Finally, dig the Jessica Rabbit cover! God bless ya, Roger Rabbit and all of 1988. And to Pia Reyes, about whom this entry is not even at all remotely concerned, sorry. It’s not your fault that I think boxing is more interesting than whatever your little turn-ons and ambitions were. I feel kind of badly now. How about this? I will try to make it up to you another day, I swar to gar. You will get more attention from me later. Unless I forget.

Erfahrungsbericht:

Ich bin bis jetzt 3-4 mal im Deli gewesen, sowohl nachmittags wie auch zweimal Donnerstagabends zum Livemusikevent. Und ganz vorne weg kann ich sagen, dieses Restaurant kann man empfehlen, sowohl unter der Woche besonders aber am Donnerstag.

Zum Style

Das Deli kommt ziemlich stylisch daher mit einer Designeinrichtung vom aller Feinsten. Alles ist newertig und macht einen echt guten eindruck. Der ziemlich große Raum ist komplett offen, es gibt eine Bar über die gesamte Tiefe des Restaurants und einen ebenso langen Tische. Der restliche Raum ist mit einzelnen Tischen ausgestattet und neben dem Eingang ist ein Loungebereich mit Sesseln und kleinen Tischen. Ähnlich sieht es vor dem Deli aus mitten in der Einkaufspassage, hier wirds während der Einkaufszeiten jedoch schon manchmal etwas hecktisch wenn die Kunden vorbeilaufen. Im Sommer sei noch der Balkon erwähnt, der in Richtung See geht und so immer ein frisches Lüftchen bereithält.

Essen/Getränke

In einem Restaurant spielt, auch wenn Sie das erste ist was man beurteilen kann, nicht das Aussehen die größte Rolle, sondern das Essen und die Getränke und deren Preisleistungsverhältnis. Genaue Preise habe ich jetzt leider nicht vorliegend (werden bei Gelegenheit ergänzt) ich weiß jedoch noch, dass die Preise eher richtung Teuer tendiert haben. Besonders das Essen, was zumindest auf meinen Erfahrungen nur durchschnittlichen Wert hatte (zumindest wenn man den Geschmack und nicht das Aussehen bevorzugt beurteilt). Die Getränke sind ebenfalls nicht fürn Appel und´n  Ei zu haben. Geschmacklich waren zumindest der Kaffee nicht das Beste was ich in meinem Leben getrunken habe. Zusammenfassend würde ich jedoch sagen, dass im Deli Konstanz ein Anständiges Angebot geboten wird, wenn auch etwas teuer.

Service und Events

Die Servicekräfte sind schnell beschrieben. Ich habe bisher durchweg nur gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Das man manchmal einen etwas gestressten Eindruck hat liegt sich im Auge des Betrachters und hängt vom Zufall ab. Durchweg ist es sehr junge  Servicekräfte und auch wenn es manchmal etwas länger dauert ein angenehmes Personal. Donnerstags, wenn das Deli komplett überfüllt ist, kann man nicht erwarten auf zu zeigen und sofort bedient zu werden.

Zu den Events, die jeden Donnerstag im Deli stattfinden (Ab 21.00 Uhr) sei auch nur kurz gesagt. Genial. Es ist eine richtig gute Stimmung in der Bude, oftmals wird getanzt auf einer zugegeben eher kleinen Tanzfläche, die Leute sind fröhlich und man kann einen angenehmen Abend verbringen. Ob einem die Musik gefällt steht natürlich auf einem anderen Blatt. Da es eher eine etwas gestylte und moderne Location ist findet man passend dazu meistens Pop, Jazz, Blues, Hits….

Alles in Allem das Abschließende Fazit:

Deli – JA, da kann man hingehen! (Nur nicht jede Woche)

The Lincoln Center has always established it self as a great place for the performing arts and this  celebration will last up until Jan 16, 2010. Go and enjoy what LC has to offer in Music, art, theatre, and  dance . I know I will be there.

so one of my favourite artists; a-trak – has in my mind collaborated with arguably one of the masters of remix and dance – armin van helden and have created a somewhat FUNK dance group named duck sauce. their first track together – aNYway – is a pretty upbeat tune and is totally worth listening too! such a feel good song! take a gander will you?
