Last year, I joined much of the country in celebrating the nation’s new (and down right surprising) sweetheart. Sure enough, this love proved to be just as fickle as I had anticipated, since I seem to have got a little bored of all the Cheryl exposure and have – like the predictable follower I have shown myself to be – switched to camp Dannii. But of course, that could all change tomorrow…

Having been a little disappointed with ELLE’s November cover feature of the UK star (Maybe I’m alone but I just felt it was bit of a non-event), I am excited to see what Q have in store this month. I’m yet to read the interview but LOVE these photos I’ve just spotted on Mail Online, picturing Miss Cole in a Sin City-esque shoot by photographer John Wright. I think it’s the different side we’re seeing to the girl-next-door that makes this for a more exciting feature. Who would have imagined Cheryl Cole in gothic glam?

Check out some behind the scenes shots at Q.

Sparkling eye makeup is the key to copying Cheryl Cole`s X-Factor style, it has been claimed.

According to the beauty gurus at Hello magazine, Cheryl and her fellow judge Dannii Minogue have both been showing off glittery eyes on the show and the look is easy to recreate for festive parties.

The publication suggests using a metallic, cream-based eye shadow on the lid for “full-on Cheryl-style glamour” and also advises using a matching shade of eyeliner on the lower lid for balance.

However, it warns women embracing statement eye makeup that they should tone down their cheeks and lips to avoid looking like a drag queen.

“The key with glitter is to focus on one feature only. And keep your finishes matte; shiny skin and glossy lips attract the light to fight with sparkly eyes,” it advises.

Last week, Jenni Middleton, editor of Professional Beauty magazine, said that celebrities such as Cheryl Cole and Lady Gaga are prompting the trend for false eyelashes.

DANCE maestros The Freemasons have confirmed that they hope to work on a new track with Dannii Minogue in the new year.

Showbiz previously told that Dannii was hoping for a collaboration with the producers to help make her pop comeback and now things could be happening.

Freemason star James Wiltshire told Australian newspaper the Daily Telegraph: “I’ve been emailing Dannii quite a lot recently.

“What I like about Dannii is that she’s so into her music. We’ll hopefully hook up with her when she comes back from Australia after Christmas and New Year’s.”

In the meantime, enjoy the producers recent remix of Whitney’s Million Dollar Bill.

Joe McElderry has said that he would kiss Dannii Minogue and marry Cheryl Cole if forced to choose.

Joe McElderry has said that he would kiss Dannii Minogue and marry Cheryl Cole if forced to choose.

The X Factor winner told iVillage that he had a close relationship with Cole, who mentored him during the reality talent contest.

When asked who he would kiss and wed of the two female judges, McElderry said: “Well that’s a difficult one! I think I’d snog Dannii and marry Cheryl. I think that would be interesting.”

Of his relationship with Cole, he added: “Because we’re from the same area we got on really well.

“She calls in all time to see how I’m getting on, and I class her as a really good friend. I can see why people say we’re like brother and sister.”

Earlier this week, McElderry confirmed that he was straight and single, but not looking for a girlfriend at the moment.

Ok, it’s a debate thats been, for want of a less pun-filled word, raging over the past couple

Ok, it’s a debate thats been, for want of a less pun-filled word, raging over the past couple of weeks. So, time to have a wade into the argument with a couple of verbal butterfly strokes.

Here are things as I see them. When you look at things at face value, Simon Cowell may be a complete twat (and he is) but he is perhaps the most honest of the complete twats that inhabit that thing that calls itself a primetime TV show (X-Factor). He is in the business to make money. That’s the way it’s always been for him, and thats the way it always will be. I applaud that kind of honesty.

What annoys me is the farcical sideshow that has built up around an audition process. I’ll bet anything that auditions for feature films have suffered because potential candidates are scared to death to apply in case they get laughed off stage by complete pillocks like Cowell, Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and that Aussie bint with the famous sister.

It is well documented that X-Factor is owned/run/pedalled/pushed by Simon Cowell and his seemingly limitless fortune, which brings me to the race to have the Christmas Number One in the charts. Seriously, who gives a damn anymore? The last time I even noticed who was top of the charts was the time I walked all the 15 miles home from school – probably should have stayed, considering the quality of Daytime TV. Simon Cowell will be pushing the X-Factor winner’s single, whatever and whoever the hell it is, to try to be the Christmas number one (i.e. the number one on the last Sunday before Christmas Day). This is calculated by album sales. Now, in the modern world where LEGAL downloading is still very much alive, I’d say that figures of sales are fairly inaccurate when calculating how good a song is, so this more or less makes the ‘charts’ redundant. Like they weren’t anyway.

Which brings us to ‘Killing in the Name’ by Rage Against the Machine. In itself, a catchy if not slightly annoying song in terms of repetitiveness. Now its quite obvious that the reason this song is being pushed by certain sections of the general public (i.e. anyone who can’t stand X-Factor and wants to show it) is not because of the song, but because of the name of the band. The song is almost meaningless, aside from it being the most memorable song RATM ever did. So why them? Because they symbolised the exact same thing back then as the re-use of their song now. A country (or a section of it, in this case Primetime TV) under the thumb of a more influential power flexing its muscle a bit too far. Back then it was Republican policies under Bush Sr. Now, in this particular circumstance, its a music ‘mogul’ having his way with the popular airwaves so music he’s funded gets played before anything good and worth listening to. Simon Cowell has been doing this stuff for years and finally people seem to be waking up to it. The problem was (and still is) that the general public will happily sit down and watch anything in front of them as long as it takes their minds off of daily life, which unless you have a creative profession I’d venture to say is pretty dull. They just have nothing better to do.

I am not a massive fan of RATM, but its got to be a better notion than turning the radio off because some bastard with a barrel full of Simon Cowell’s cash is singing a cover of a cover of a cover of a song that was original back in the 1960’s. Either put on the original, put on Killing in the Name, or shoot Cowell and ask questions later.

Right, I am ranted out. Time to go get a cup of coffee before a certain someone and I be off to see if Avatar is as good as Mr Sale deems it to be. Damn well better be, I don’t get into the cinema for free you know – I have to get out of bed to go there.

As the party season gets into full swing, creating a unique hairstyle can really add the finishing touches to an outfit.

Following on from X Factor trend setters Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue, quiffs, plaits and lots of height are the look you want to go for this season.

Creating the look at home is a daunting task for some but can be easily achieved by following a couple of top tips from beauty expert Geraldine Harkins.

First of all, complement a plait with some soft curls using your straighteners: “You are best to use it like your old fashioned tongs, twist it around [the hair] and hold it.”

Once you have your curls in place, these can be pinned back into a side bun to create a softer look and bag the Cheryl Cole look.

“You don’t want it to look too rigid,” Geraldine explains.

If Dannii’s larger than life quiffs are more up your street, then backcombing is the secret to your success.

“Your backcombing is really important to create these quiffs and twists, very Dannii Minogue.

“The important thing is to get in and backcomb the root so the rest of the hair, the middle ends and ends, are quite smooth and soft for you to pin in at the back.”

And if that all sounds too much like hard work then you can always let the professionals work their magic.

The X Factor only finished this weekend with possibly the biggest anticlimax of the year, yet alread

The X Factor only finished this weekend with possibly the biggest anticlimax of the year, yet already I am experiencing withdrawal symptoms. This was, admittedly, the dullest series yet, hugely lacking in personality and outstanding talent, with some actually pretty dreadful singers. However, there were two acts that went against the grain throughout; runner-up Olly Murs and the series’ real winners, John and Edward Grimes. It is naturally these people that I miss the most and while working, my baser instincts get the better off me and I find myself on a certain video websites, getting my hit of shiny ITV goodness. Hopefully this will wear off soon but before it does, here’s my miserable verdict on this year’s contestants.

KANDY RAIN

These sluts should have stood out, looking as they did like ropey ladyboys with aspirations to be Girls Aloud. But they didn’t. They were all strippers, which invariably got the tabloids riled up, spewing out stories of the girls’ sordid antics in articles with a photo/text ratio of about 80:2. They went out in the first week. I can’t even remember what they sang.

RIKKI LONEY

Rodenty Scot Rikki seemed much better when he auditioned last year, but still he professed to be much improved this time round. He wasn’t, but his pointy features and bizarre left eyebrow (it looked like a devil’s horn) obviously struck a chord with judges and he made it through to the live shows, where he was tragically out of his depth. Despite a unique (ie: weird and shit) rendition of Aretha Franklin’s Respect, he was just too boring and, strangely for one in the Boys category, quite unattractive, and so was kicked out in week two.

MISS FRANK

A street-talking pot pourri of horror put together in the boot camp stage of the competition, Miss Frank were comprised of three mediocre solo contestants; a fat one, one with a mannequin’s wig and another one. The fat one could rap. They made it through to the judges’ houses stage and subsequently the live shows after they showed they could throw together an adequate harmony at short notice. Booted off in the third week, Miss Frank professed to have a close, sisterly bond. I doubt they even knew each others’ surnames.

RACHEL ADEDEJI

Sullen Rachel looked like a mugger and cried a lot. With her dull, often flat voice, she didn’t impress and left in the fourth week; her third time in the bottom two in only four shows. Just as she had dumped the scary Rihanna style hairdo in favour of an unflattering yet admirably shiny Dannii Minogue bob too. Shame.

LUCIE JONES

Lucie, who came from some village in the Welsh back and beyond, impressed the judges so much with her angelic voice that they never even mentioned the fact that she had teeth like Sugar Puffs. Simon didn’t like her, presumably because she was boring (and she was), but she tragically left in week five after she gave a blazing rendition of Guns’n’Roses’ Sweet Child of Mine. Joining her in the bottom two were John and Edward (more later). Simon Cowell caused immense controversy by refusing to choose between the two, and poor Lucie lost out in the public vote. This was after a week of tabloid reports claiming that the X Factor was rigged in favour of John and Edward, who were apparently being groomed for victory. Tough times.

JAMIE ARCHER

Provoking memories of Tabby in the first series (if you have any), rocker Jamie was never going to win. He was a great singer but his enormous afro was a distraction more than an enhancement. Also, I always thought he looked like he had smelly breath. I don’t know why; I’ve always thought the same about Shaggy too. Like I said, he had a good voice, but even with all that hair, he still looked like he was trying too hard to stand out, and his rock’n’roll wiles just don’t appeal to the X Factor’s audience. Admirably though, he stayed until week six when he was ejected in favour of the far more X Factor friendly Lloyd Daniels.

JOHN AND EDWARD

The Irish twins are loved and hated in equal measure by the people of Britain. I personally adore them. Despite their bizarre personalities, spacey way of talking and lack of musical talent, their infectious enthusiasm, steely determination, impenetrably thick skin and Louis’ eye for blond, Irish youths secured them a place in the live shows. Their energetic, fun and expensive looking performances broke the ennui and gave everybody, Cheryl Cole included, something to look forward to. With their Bart Simpson hair and shiny, matching suits, they looked like the cast of Spring Awakening ready to go on Family Fortunes. Even after they left in the seventh week, they have not been out of the papers, and they are the contestants the nation is still talking about, whether slagging them off or praising their uniqueness. What defeats me is how John and Edward are defiled musically, when nobody begrudges ugly novelty acts like the Cheeky Girls and Goldie Lookin’ Chain the right to make a living. I suppose it’s just because they took a place in the live shows that should rightfully have gone to someone more talented. However, what are the chances that any of the other groups would still be grabbing the headlines? None. Those are the chances. God love them and good luck to them.

LLOYD DANIELS

Lloyd was quite good looking, but permanently had that vacuous expression of a baby being waved at. He had blond hair and was from Wales. Mum and Dad were very proud of him. There’s really nothing else to say except that it took John and Edward being ejected for everyone to realise he actually wasn’t very good. Oh, and he did a backflip once.

DANYL JOHNSON

Danyl (who actually chose to spell his name like that himself) was an early favourite who gave a cracking first audition, Danyl’s arrogance and habit of mouthing off in the X Factor house brought him a lot of bad press early on. He even found himself in the bottom two as early as week three, but he was up against the grotesque Miss Frank so he was fine. He had an okay voice but was often flat, and had a tongue that looked like the lid off a tube of Pringles. He was deservedly kicked out the week before the final.

STACEY SOLOMON

Stacey was captured the hearts of the nation because she was so down to earth. It is important to point out here that when it comes to reality television, down to earth means stupid. Every week, she reacted to the judges comments with gormless, giggling disbelief which made them think that she didn’t realise how good she was, but made me think that from week to week, she just forgot where she was. She looked like a horse, and belted out big numbers with a limited register. I firmly believe it was the nation’s fascination with her blithering stupidity that got her to third place.

OLLY MURS

Along with John and Edward, Olly made this series watchable. He was the Will Young of the competition, in that he did not need alternative arrangements to make a classic song entirely his own. Already a competent performer, he popped out some great dance moves, including a strange sideways hip thrust that became imaginatively known as the ‘Olly wiggle’, and peppered his performances with excited shouts of ‘Hey!’ Just because he didn’t hold notes as long as Joe or Stacey, it was widely considered that they were better singers. How shallow. The most worthy winner, Olly came a respectable second and probably has the lengthiest career ahead of him.

JOE McELDERRY

Boring winner Joe could sing, and smiled a lot to show off his impressive number of teeth and disguise his lack of actual personality. Camper than Louis Walsh in a leopard print tent, it was actually headline news when he announced that he was straight. A dull and utterly X Factor-esque balladeer (although his rendition of Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’ was pretty impressive), Joe could easily be the next Leon Jackson. However, thanks in no small part to John and Edward, the incessant press this series has received has given him enough publicity to last at least eighteen months. One hopes.

So there we have it: all twelve acts all wrapped up in twelve miserable, festive nutshells. Despite this series generally being a hideous car crash of non-talent, it was its sporadic monumental high points (for which I thank Olly and the twins) that have made me miss it like a deceased loved one. Now I have to wait for Celebrity Big Brother for something else to shout about, or I suppose I could make a start on the soaps.

Before I do, I might just have a quick look at Youtube…

It was indeed a glittering X Factor final, not least as far as the judges were concerned, with Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue both layering on sparkly make-up to dazzle the cameras on television’s biggest night of the year.

It’s the perfect look to replicate for the party season. And it’s surprisingly easy to create, without any complicated techniques, because we’ve found the hero product that will give you Cheryl’s attention grabbing in two easy steps.

It’s MEMEME’s Bronze Jewel Eye Pots in Bronze, £6.99, which comes with a cream-based eyeshadow and one full of glitter that sticks to the eyeshadow for full-on Cheryl-style glamour.

Line the lower lid with a matching shade of eyeliner for balance, but pare down the rest of your face so you don’t end up looking like a drag queen – the key with glitter is to focus on one feature only. And keep your finishes matte; shiny skin and glossy lips attract the light to fight with sparkly eyes.

If you can, keep a couple of cotton buds and a travel sized hand cream in your bag so you can gently wipe away any glitter that falls onto your face without rubbing away your make-up.

There’s no doubt that the competition has been fierce but it wasn’t only Joe McElerry and Olly Murs battling it out on the X Factor stage this year.

Throughout the series, both Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue have been putting their all into the fight for the most fabulous look and the final was no different.

Girls Aloud Cheryl has been daring on a number of occasions (though not always successfully) but all with the help of two stylists, where Dannii has had fashion experts swooning over her self styled decisions.

For the final, though, both went for unusual creations.

Cheryl’s floor-length black, strapless ball gown was sheer from thigh to floor, boosted her bust and gave her the Gothic Cinderella look while still showing off her undeniably shapely figure.

Ms Minogue, on the other hand, opted for a shimmering Grecian style golden dress, the draped fabric cut high at one side to reveal her enviable legs and a plunging neckline that emphasised her curves.

The question is, was it Cheryl’s daring design or Dannii’s Grecian goddess that won in the style stakes?

The final of the finals is finally here. May God have mercy on our souls. Saturday Running Time (in

The final of the finals is finally here. May God have mercy on our souls.

Saturday

Running Time (including the Xtra Factor): 180 minutes

Time I watched it in: 77 minutes

X Factor Ratio: 42.8%

Before I started writing this\watching the show, I remembered that someone was going to be leaving, so I thought I better make a prediction. I thought that Olly would (and should) be the first to be eliminated. Look how that turned out.

Unlike previous series, I don’t really care which of the acts win this series. I would have slightly preferred to have Stacey win, but I have to admit that Joe deserves it.

Each of the contestants performed three songs, the opener was the song that they sang at their first audition.

Stacey – What a Wonderful World – Stacey looked really nice here, although they had her precariously perched on a stool in a very short dress. Again. My upskirt conspiracy theory rumbled on to the very end. The song really suited her voice and it was a pleasant, if slightly boring, performance. The nerves showed a little in her vocals, but that’s hardly surprising under the circumstances.

The judges comments were predictably bland.

Olly – Superstition – I didn’t really mind the singing too much (apart from the fact that he couldn’t say ’suffer’), but the dancing was as irritating as ever. I’m fully aware of how my dislike for Olly is completely irrational.

Nothing worthy of comment from the judges, again.

Joe – Dance with my Father – I didn’t know the song and guessed the title from the lyrics. It was another good performance from Joe, but it was very musical theatre.

I’ve given up on the judges – they’ve got no incentive to say anything nasty when it’s the final. How boring.

The next set of songs were the not-so-secret duets. I don’t know why the judges were being so coy about who was performing as it had been announced everywhere – including the info button on Sky.

Stacey – Feeling Good (with Michael Buble) – Mickey Bubbles singing was really weird and, as a result, it was like they weren’t performing together. Does he usually sing like that and is this why he is so popular? I found it baffling. Anyway, Stacey looked pretty sexy in her shiny dress. She also sang really well, maybe her best yet. Mickey didn’t seem convinced that Stacey could win, he could have at least have pretended.

Olly – Angels (with Robbie) – I hate this song and if there was any lingering doubt on who might be the ‘mystery’ guest, then it didn’t last long. Olly was pretty awful and Robbie actually cocked up his own song by coming in before he should. Robbie looked like he was going to start crying and the whole thing felt incredibly awkward.

Joe – Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me (with George Michael) – Joe was excellent. Although they looked like father and son, it was definitely the best duet, both vocally and in terms of performance. At the end, George had that big star ‘I don’t quite know what’s going on’ vibe. He also said that it must be nerve wracking to meet ‘people like him’.

The last round was the contestants ‘best song’ from the series.

Stacey – Who Wants to Live Forever – Whatever you think of Stacey, you have to admit that they’ve certainly made the most out of her legs over the series. Although I like her voice, her performances are just too tentative for her to be a pop star.

How can Simon make the phrase “you smashed it” sound so unenthusiastic?

Olly – Fool in Love – I’m not even sure that I can remember him singing this before and I don’t have a clue what it is. He’s not awful but I didn’t really like it. I don’t know what he could actually do to impress me.

Joe – Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word – Well, I have to admit it, Joe deserves to win the competition. He was excellent, again.

So that was it, all that was left was to announce who’d be going home. Tragedy struck as Olly was announced safe. I felt a little bit angry and sad inside. It was down to Joe and Stacey, and clearly Joe wasn’t going home. Poor Stacey. Oh well, it actually makes tomorrow interesting for me, as I’m now desperate that Joe wins. Stacey was incredibly gracious in defeat, which makes me wish she stayed in even more.

The only thing worth mentioning on The Xtra Factor was when Simon asked a pensioner caller what she was wearing and what she had on under her dressing gown. It was quite revolting., but very funny.

Sunday

Running Time: 180 minutes

Time I watched it in: 54 minutes

X Factor Ratio: 30%

I really couldn’t be bothered watching this, but it would be a strange time to quit. Despite saying yesterday that I really wanted Joe to beat Olly, I couldn’t actually be bothered.

There was some god-awful group song from all the finalists. I fast forwarded through it.

Olly – Twist & Shout – Annoying. That’s all I have.

Joe – Don’t Stop Believin’ – Yeah, it was alright.

I think I shocked even myself with just how uninterested I was. You’ll be glad to know that I bravely soldiered on.

JLS did a duet with Alexandra Burke. Then they wheeled out Leona Lewis. Were they just trying to prove how bad that this year’s contestants have been in comparison to past winners?

They then performed ‘the winner’s single’. Did I recklessly fast-forward or did Simon forget to tell us what it was called? The chorus uses the phrase “the climb” so I googled it – apparently it’s a Miley Cyrus song. It’s quite insipid, but what you’d expect.

Olly – Not great. He’s not actually that bad, vocally, I just don’t ‘get it’.

Joe – I preferred this to Olly’s version, mainly because Joe is a more natural singer. It really felt effortless compared to Olly.

How many times have we had to listen to Cheryl saying how much she’s glad to have met Joe?

I fast forwarded through George Michael, but thought I’d listen to a bit of Paul ‘Macca’ McCartney. Then all the finalists joined him on stage to sing ‘Drive my Car’. Deary me. I didn’t want to watch but I couldn’t look away. Macca saved it by doing ‘Live and Let Die’ – a mentalist classic.

I can’t believe how long they dragged out revealing the winner. I fast forwarded for ages and it still didn’t come. Eventually the right decision was made and Joe won. I can’t quite believe that I think it was the right decision.

Over on The Xtra Factor Holly reveals the predictions that the judges and presenters made at boot camp, about who the final winner would be.

Dermot – Olly

Holly – Olly

Louis – Olly

Dannii – Nicole (didn’t even get through the the live shows)

Cheryl – Olly + Miss Frank (Louis demanded his rule book because she picked two acts)

Simon – Olly

They also revealed who got the most votes in each of the live shows – it makes for quite interesting reading:

Week 1 – Danyl

Week 2 – Stacey

Week 3 – Rachel

Week 4 – Danyl

Week 5 – Danyl

Week 6 – Stacey

Week 7 – Joe

Week 8 – Joe

Week 9 – Joe

Week 10 – Joe

Joe clearly had it sewn up by the last few weeks, but it’s interesting to see that Stacey and Danyl won so many weeks.

In Conclusion

You can probably tell, by how rushed Sunday’s write up is, just how fed up with it I’d become by the end. I can’t even be bothered making any final conclusions. See you all next year for some more X Factor fun.

Total Duration: 360 minutes

Total time I spent watching it: 131 minutes

Overall X Factor Ratio: 36.4%

Last night bought a new start to X Factor winner Joe but with it a sad end to the judges fashion war

Last night bought a new start to X Factor winner Joe but with it a sad end to the judges fashion war we’ve looked forward to and eagerly followed for the past 20 weeks.

It’s been five months of who wore the best Saturday and Sunday outfits between Dannii and Cheryl and just as we’ve seen a turn in the singing winner, we’ve also seen that in the style stakes. At the start of the series we were convinced Cheryl would out do Dannii like she did last year, but a third of the way in we saw a change in the Australian judge’s style.

While Cheryl went for more daring designs (who can forget that David Koma dress) Dannii opted for dresses by Australian designers like Ralph and Russo and Aurelio Costarella., which showed off her demure style, and appeared in the tabloids for all the right reasons.

However it seems Cheryl didn’t learn and her dresses became more and more outrageous as the series continued. The fashion furore reached its climax yesterday when the judges again went head to head in their style war. Again Cheryl demonstrated her recent love of everything deifferent in a black gothic style dress while Dannii opted for her traditional Grecian style look, and we have to say we think she nailed it. Cheryl you may have won the singing war but Dannii you’ve definitely won our hearts with your style.

Do you agree or do you think Cheryl’s fashion risks earned her the best dressed crown?

It was part two of The X Factor final last night – in which the nation crowned JOE the winner!

It was part two of The X Factor final last night – in which the nation crowned JOE the winner!

The night kicked off with the group song which was Never Forget by Take That, obviously it was as awful as they always have been but that’s half the fun isn’t it!

Next up it was time for Olly and Joe to start singing to win! It was Olly who went first and he sang his favorite song from the show which was Twist and Shout, and you can watch it here. Obviously it was fab and he seemed so nervous!

Joe sings Don't Stop Believin'

Joe was next, and he sang Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey, which you can see here. It was great and he looked so smart!

After their first songs done, it was time for the first of the star acts, and the turn of last years finalists – Alexandra Burke and JLS – to take to the stage. They sang a cool mashup of Bad Boys and Everybody in Love, and I am sure everyone noticed how amazing it was and how close Alexandra and Marvin got!!! You can watch it here!

Alexandra Burke and JLS

Following that fab performance was another X Factor veteran – Leona Lewis. She sang Stop Crying Your Heart Out, which will undoubtedly be another massive hit for her in the same way Run was. Whilst she was singing there was footage of all the X Factor contestants from this year which was nice, and you can watch it here.

It was then time for Joe and Olly to perform the winner’s song, which was Miley Cyrus’ The Climb. Olly went first and was great and then it was Joe’s turn – whose voice was much better suited to the song. You can watch Olly singing it here, and Joe singing here.

George Michael sings December Song

After these two performances it was time for the return of the star acts. Simon had told us that the acts this year would be bigger than the ones last year – Beyonce, Boyzone and Westlife – and so far Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke and JLS hadn’t fulfilled that promise. But then, it was the turn of George Michael! He sang December Song, a nice Christmas song and he even had fake snow, and you can watch it here.

And just when you think it can’t possibly get any bigger, Dermot has the task of introducing a man who you would never think would agree to go on The X Factor – Sir Paul McCartney!

Sir Paul backstage at The X Factor

It was actually incredible that he was on, and he sang two songs! He did Drive My Car (which you can watch here) and Live and Let Die, which you can see here. Then after he had finished, Simon thanked him and told him he was through to the next round – legend!!!

After all that excitement it was time for some more – announcing the winner. On stage was Joe and his mentor Cheryl and Olly with his mentor Simon. Dermot left a suitably long pause and then announced that JOE had won!! A deserving winner and his version of the winner’s song was definetley better!

Joe and Cheryl celebrate

After just finding out that his life has changed and that he had won, Dermot hands him a copy of his single and then a microphone and he has to sing his debut single again! The other final 12 acts joined him on stage, Rachel Adedeji grabbed the mic and started shouting something in it like the idiot that she is and they all congratulated Joe. You can see him perform the song here.

Joe performs his debut single

After months of searching for a winner, there was plenty of ups and downs, surprises and shocks and slip-ups (mainly from Robbie Williams) and it was over! With Joe as the winner, and Olly as the well-deserving runner-up. And that is it, well for another year anyway. Joe’s single is available to download now and in the shops on Wednesday.

Also for any celeb-spotters interested, the celebs in the audience included Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy on Saturday night, and on Sunday – Ronan Keating and Shane Lynch from Boyzone and Katie Price.

It has been the fiercest of battles on The X Factor this year. Not the fight to be crowned champion

It has been the fiercest of battles on The X Factor this year.

Not the fight to be crowned champion by mentoring the winning act, but the style war between Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue.

Despite Cheryl having two stylists to help create her daring looks, Dannii has won over fashion critics by dressing herself – without the help of a stylist.

Few would disagree the Girls Aloud singer has suffered a few fashion disasters this series – most famously her David Koma ‘dustbin lid’ dress.

The final: Dannii Minogue wears a shimmering golden dress, while Cheryl Cole wore a huge black down which was sheer from mid-thigh to the floor

Winning look? Cheryl’s act Joe McElderry may have won the X Factor, but her choice of dress made her look a little like the dolls which hide toilet rolls

The two female judges have been working since the auditions back in the summer to pull the best outfits out of the closet.

And the battle was ramped up for the live shows, which saw both Dannii and Cheryl sporting some unusual creations.

Dannii appeared to favour longer, Grecian styles, while Cheryl took risk after fashion risks in eccentric gowns, which didn’t always pay off.

Last night, Cheryl went for Gothic glamour in a huge black, meringue-like evening gown, which some viewers claimed made her look like a toilet dolly.

Week 10: Dannii is dull in an unflattering Grecian gown, while Cheryl finds it difficult to walk in a jewelled mermaid dress

It not only boosted her cleavage but, being sheer from mid thigh to the floor, also showed a hint of leg.

By the side of her, Dannii showed off her curves in a sexy plunging gold dress, which gave male fans a rare glimpse of her long legs.

While Dannii has won the style wars for most of this year’s series, Cheryl enjoyed a rare triumph with her black and white mermaid gown on Saturday’s show.

Although the Australian judge looked a little dull in comparison with her asymmetrical grey Grecian creation, she was at least able to walk in her dress.

Week 9: Dannii keeps it short and sweet in Aurelio Costarella mini, but adds an odd hairstyle while Cheryl wears a gothic Stéphane Rolland dress with a train

Week 8: Dannii crosses Grecian with 80s glamour by J’Aton Couture, while Cheryl Cole looks like a sweet in a gold and black Stéphane Rolland number

Cheryl has time and again worn unusual, eye-catching dresses, while Dannii has opted for more flattering, classic styles.

In a recent interview, the Australian singer admitted she spent a lot of time creating her looks for the show, while Cheryl had two stylists working with her.

She said: ‘I know Cheryl has two stylists and I have none. I put a lot of work into it. I style myself. I choose all my outfits.’

At 26, Cheryl is still finding her fashion feet, while Dannii, 38, found her own style a long time ago and is more confident with her clothing choices.

Who can forget Cheryl’s dustbin-lid horror? She wore the David Koma dress in week four and was panned by fashion critics even though the designer is up-and-coming and has been worn by Beyonce.

She wore it with Tabitha Simmons Carla suede thigh-high boots.

Week 7: Dannii wears a maxi dress by Ralph & Russo. Cheryl goes for a coral Giles dress with Christian Louboutin Fifre boots and Minnie Mouse hairdo

Week 6: Dannii wears an unflattering large kaftan dress with a low neckline by Lisa Ho and wore crimped extensions. Cheryl sparkled in a Richard Nicoll dress

During the semi-finals, the 26-year-old again opted for drama, wearing a Stéphane Rolland black dress with puffed sleeves, a short hemline and a long black train.

Dannii kept it short and sweet in a silver number by Aurelio Costarella Spring 2010.

But the 38-year-old judge has had her fair share of monstrosities. She wore an unflattering long, patterned dress to week six of the live finals.

Week 5: Dannii wears a trendy asymmetric bob with her J’Aton Couture corset dress, while Cheryl keeps it simple in a Marios Schwab red number

The shapeless outfit, which had a large 70s-style print, had a cowl neckline which exposed a large area of cleavage.

During week five, both judges seemed to get it right with dresses that had a bit of glamour without being too outrageous.

Dannii wore a pale corseted dress and had her bob cut in a flattering asymmetric style, while Cheryl opted for a simple shift dress with a crystal panel by Marios Schwab.

Week 4: Dannii wears a J’Aton Couture silver gown with a thigh-high split while Cheryl wears THAT daring David Koma dress

Week 3: Dannii wears an on-trend nude dress with hip detail, while Cheryl bears a lot of flesh in her silver sci-fi dress

Another week which had the fashion critics in a tizz was week three where Cheryl wore a silver paillette Julien Macdonald Spring 2010 mini dress with nude panels and bold shoulders.

Dannii, meanwhile, wore an on-trend nude dress with a peplum on one hip, with a dripping effect of embellished details on her dress by J’Aton Couture.

Source

JUDGES Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole could leave the X Factor panel as Simon Cowell rings the chang

JUDGES Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole could leave the X Factor panel as Simon Cowell rings the changes for the seventh series next year.

The music mogul is said to be considering replacements for the female mentors as well as the possibility of adding a fifth judge to the line-up.

Fans may also get an extra four weeks of the contest if Cowell decides to plump for 16 finalists instead of the traditional 12 next year. The return of the show, which has enjoyed its most successful year for viewing figures, has still to be negotiated.

But Cowell has indicated he would like to see Robbie Williams join him and Louis Walsh on the judging panel. He also played down rumours he was planning to replace Dannii with former Spice Girl Mel B. He said: “A lot of things are going to change for next year – if we bring the show back. Possibly five on a panel. I don’t think it will be Mel B.

“I tell you who’d make a good judge – Robbie Williams. He’s fun, he’s got good instincts and he doesn’t take himself too seriously.”

Insiders have suggested Cheryl wants to leave to start a family with her husband, footballer Ashley Cole.

A source at the X Factor said: “The number one thing on her mind is starting a family. The show is a huge commitment. It’s six months of the year. Cheryl wanted to have a baby with Ashley this year but put it off because of work. She doesn’t want to wait much longer and she’s not keen on having to judge the X Factor while she’s heavily pregnant.”

Cheryl’s relationship with Dannii has come under speculation as rumours emerged of a rift. Sources have also said Simon is no longer fond of the Aussie singer.

A show with five judges would mean the panel avoid deadlock decisions which have frustrated fans.

Cowell said he wanted to reproduce X Factor’s success with a show in America after the popularity of the US version of Britain’s Got Talent.

The 50-year-old said: “To not make X Factor in the biggest market in the world would be crazy, but we take the show with British producers so it has hopefully that same craziness, unpredictability. I wouldn’t gloss it up for the American market, I would never do that.”

He revealed his empire of shows was sometimes too much for him.

“I get to a point sometimes where I get overloaded, where you can have a week or a month where you’re responsible for so many things, where you have to deal with so many people and this can go on from leaving the office till five or six in the morning if we have to deal with America, where you just have enough.

“Because sometimes you feel that it’s like a tidal wave of stuff that continues to come. You do feel trapped and you don’t want to let anybody down,” he said.

Last night’s X Factor was part one of this year’s final where we saw the final three contestants battling it out for the final two places.

The night started with Stacey, Olly and Joe singing the song which they performed in the first audition.

Next up was the duets and first up was Stacey and Michael Buble, who I thought was fantastic! Following this was Olly and Robbie Williams (who messed up his first line – just what he needs) and they really sang so well together. Last up was Joe and George Michael – I am going to put it out there that I thought that Joe was better than George Michael, but it’s only my opinion! You can see what you think of Stacey’s duet here, Olly’s here, and Joe’s here.

And finally Stacey, Olly and Joe had to sing their favorite song of the series, with Stacey singing Who Wants to Live Forever, Olly singing Fool in Love and Joe sang Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word.

To round off the performances, Robbie Williams came back and sang You Know Me, which you can see here.

Then it was down to the results. Dermot first announced that Olly was through the final and then it was between Joe and Stacey. Joe stood waiting with his head on Cheryl’s shoulder and Stacey stood there pouting, and it was Joe who got through to tonight’s final!

On tonight’s show, Joe and Olly will both sing the winner’s single which is The Climb, by Miley Cyrus. Joe will also sing Don’t Stop Believin’ and Olly will sing Twist and Shout. It’s a two hour show though, so there will be more than just that, but no-one knows what yet.

It is on ITV1 at 7:30pm.

X Factor: Joe McElderry and Olly Murs go head-to-head in the final

Joe McElderry, the favourite to win The X Factor, will go head-to-head in the final with Olly Murs. The pair will now battle it out for the title this evening and the chance to win a recording contract and, in all likelihood, the Christmas number one. Joe, the Geordie 18-year-old went through last night after show-stopping performances of Dance With My Father, Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word and Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me in a duet with George Michael.

The final two: Olly Murs and Joe McElderry will battle tonight for the X Factor title and chance to win a recording contract

Last night Joe, the firm favourite to win the show, looked thrilled after a tense evening and said: ‘I can’t believe it. I feel numb. It feels amazing.’But it was Olly Murs, from Essex, and his mentor Simon Cowell who looked truly stunned after he beat single mother Stacey Solomon to the final.’It’s so great but Stacey was amazing,’ he said.Stacey, 20, from Dagenham, scored the lowest number of public votes but said she was proud to have made it to the final.

Stunned: Olly Murs and Simon Cowell react as he is announced as the first act through to tonight’s final

Pressure mounting: It all gets too much for Joe as he waits to find out who will go through and lays his head on mentor Cheryl Cole’s shoulder

‘I came third – that’s really good. I’ve had the time of my life.’Her mentor, Dannii Minogue, said: ‘It’s been an incredible journey. I’ve made an amazing friend. She’s an absolute talent and a star.’During the evening, the judges had praised her performances, with Simon Cowell saying she had turned into a ‘nervous wreck’ in previous weeks but appeared calmer for the final. One very famous fan who will be disappointed to see her go is Prince Harry. The royal was spotted backstage with girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 24, who even sent the single mother flowers and a good luck note ahead of the show.Prince Harry has also been personally invited by Simon Cowell to return for tonight’s final.

Big fans: Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy were at the recording last night

Disappointment: Chelsy’s favourite Stacey Solomon crashed out last night

The 25-year-old Prince made a surprise visit to the North London studios.A fellow audience member said: ‘Harry and Chelsy were really into it. They gave a standing ovation to the acts and were really in the spirit.‘Chelsy seemed to be texting during the performance – probably to vote for Stacey Solomon.‘Obviously the people around them were doing complete double takes, but they were really cool‘Harry was wearing a suit and looked a bit like Olly Murs.’He has been asked to come back with Zimbabwean Chelsy tonight to meet the finalists backstage ahead of the show – expected to be watched by more than 20million people.A source close to Harry and Chelsy said: ‘As long as security is not an issue they plan to be there tonight.‘Chelsy met Simon Cowell when she went for a set visit three weeks ago and she told him Harry was a fan. Simon then sent them tickets.

Dream is over: Stacey Solomon and her mentor Dannii Minogue lost out to Olly Murs and Joe McElderry in the final last night

‘Chelsy throws X Factor-themed parties at her house and Harry and all her friends stay in on Saturday and Sunday nights to watch it. They are completely hooked.’Simon Cowell invited the pair to return backstage for a drink after the show.Harry had been backing John and Edward Grimes – the 18-year-old high-quiffed twins dubbed Jedward – but his votes were not enough to save the pair from being voted off three weeks ago.

Meanwhile Cheryl Cole wore a fishtail dress on the show which was so tight that she could barely walk in it.She was late back to her seat during the break on two occasions and had trouble making it down the steps with Joe McElderry at the end of the show.

Fishtail: Cheryl Cole had trouble walking in her extravagant feathered gown

The judge looked close to tears on numerous occasions through the show as she told viewers she ‘couldn’t bear it’ if Joe did not make it through. As she praised Joe, who is from South Shields, near her home town of Newcastle, after his performance of Dance With My Father, she said: ‘You stole my heart the first time you sang it.’She added: ‘I class him as a little brother.’As they waited for the results, she held his head on her shoulder as the pressure mounted. In comparison, Dannii Minogue looked understated in a simple one-shouldered toga-style dress in aubergine with a gold hair band and belt. The show saw a return to form for Essex boy Olly Murs, 25, who sang his audition song Superstition and A Fool In Love with a bevy of scantily-clad beauties.

Gamour: Dannii Minogue wore a simple toga-style dress with gold accessories, while Stacey Solomon shimmered in a ruby red dress

Cowell described him as the ‘best risk I’ve ever taken in my life’. He added: ‘On the biggest night of your life you pulled out the performance of your life.’Olly also performed a duet of Angels with Robbie Williams. The former Take That singer came on to rapturous applause but then fluffed his cue and looked embarrassed by his mistake. It was the weakest duet of the evening and, as the pair wrapped their arms around each other, they looked more like two friends on a stag do singing karaoke. In comparison, Stacey Solomon belted out Feeling Good with crooner Michael Buble wearing a shimmering red gown, and Joe McElderry performed Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me with George Michael.Joe now has odds of 2/9 to win the series, while Olly is the 3/1 outsider. But nothing is guaranteed – Gareth Gates had similar odds against Will Young in Pop Idol but was the eventual runner-up.

Performance: Olly Murs leads a troupe of female dancers in white during his rendition of Fall In Love

Ladbrokes spokesman Nick Weinberg said: ‘Joe looks unstoppable. He’s gone from strength to strength and it’s going to take a miracle for Olly to get the better of him.’If Joe wins it’ll be a nightmare for the bookies.’Earlier, as the show opened, Cowell said: ‘This is the closest competition I’ve ever been involved in. I can’t pick a winner any more.’The eagerly-anticipated final of the contest will top one of the most lucrative weekends in British broadcasting, with an extended results show creating prime advertising spots in front of an expected audience of 20 million.

Girl time: Olly gets back to his best with a sparkling performance of Superstition, which he performed in his first audition

The weekend’s coverage alone could generate £18 million for the troubled broadcaster ITV1, according to some reports. Sir Paul McCartney will take to the stage tonight alongside all 12 acts who made it to the finals. With a vast audience expected to tune in, advertisers have been fighting to claim a slot on the show. But in an interview with The Mail on Sunday, Cowell warned that tonight might be the last time The X Factor is seen on British screens unless ITV provides more money. The network wants to secure rights to the show for the next ten years, but Cowell has insisted that it pays an extra £3million to his company Syco TV and producers TalkbackThames.

Belting it out: Joe performs Dance With My Father as his first performance

Favourite: Geordie Joe performed Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word

‘Every year the show gets bigger and better and that means it ends up costing more. ‘If they don’t give us the money to make the show as big as it’s become, then we’d rather pull out now, while the show is on a high,’ he warned.Cowell also tried to quash rumours that Spice Girl-turned-lingerie model Mel B was to replace Dannii Minogue as a judge if the show continued.‘A lot of things are going to change for next year – if we bring the show back,’ he said.‘Possibly five on a panel. I don’t think it will be Mel B.‘I tell you who’d make a good judge: Robbie Williams. He’s fun, he’s got good instincts and he doesn’t take himself too seriously.’

Cowell said he was ready to work with Joe and compared him to Scottish singer Susan Boyle from Britain’s Got Talent.

Wonderful World: Stacey opened the show

‘I didn’t think he was as good as he’s turned out to be and I think he could turn out to be a very successful recording artist,’ he said.‘I’ll use Susan Boyle as a comparison – when we made that record we couldn’t really compare her to anybody. All we tried to do was find a collection of songs that would suit her voice.’We’re going to take our time on Joe – if he does win.’

Stacey sings Who Wants To Live Forever as her final performance on The X Factor – and Simon claimed she had ’smashed it’

Cowell criticised Dannii Minogue’s styling of Stacey Solomon, saying she was trying to make her sound too much like Leona Lewis, who won The X Factor two years ago.’We would take Stacey right back to where she started from, when we first saw her, and take her out of those stupid ball gowns and stop her trying to sound like Leona.’Cowell said yesterday he was still backing Olly, who he has been mentoring throughout the series.‘I think this guy, looked after properly and given a decent record, could do really, really well.’But Olly, 25, told the Mail on Sunday he almost fell out with Cowell over the impresario’s song choice of Twist And Shout last month.‘As the series went on I was taking it more and more seriously and I wasn’t sure about Twist And Shout.

Fluff: Olly Murs performed with Robbie Williams, who missed his cue during the performance

‘Simon said, “Olly, trust me. It’s going to be great.” When I sang it and did the rehearsal it was fantastic.’ Last night’s show saw duets from three of pop music’s biggest stars. Robbie Williams sang Angels with Olly, George Michael performed Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me with Joe, and Stacey sang Feeling Good with Michael Bublé.The celebrities have been in constant contact with the producers and the staff supporting the acts.Olly said: ‘I’ve had a voicemail from Robbie saying how he’s chuffed to have me do a final duet with him and how excited he is about it all.’The victor tonight might not be the only one to win a contract.Cowell said he would ‘have a conversation’ with fourth-placed Danyl Johnson about signing him after Christmas.

Miley Cyrus may have never publicly acknowledged her relationship with former co-star Liam Hemsworth but judging by recent pictures that surfaced of them kissing, it appears they are definitely more than just friends.Spotted in Paris holding hands earlier this week, Miley and Liam were caught up in the moment, locking lips while strolling on the Champs-Elysees on Thursday. The couple, who met on set of the Disney Movie The Last Song, have been keen to keep their relationship under wraps after Liam, 19, denied rumous in September, claiming ‘We just made a movie together.
When the Hannah Montana star, 17, was asked by presenter Ryan Seacrest if she and Liam were together, she responded ‘ I’ll neither confirm nor deny.’

However, Miley seems to have fallen for the actor, after deleting her Twitter acccount for him.In one of her last ‘tweets’ in October, Miley wrote that Liam wanted her to delete her account.’

The pair have refused to confirm rumours of a relationship

Smoker-face: Lady Gaga faces potential fine after smoking onstage in Canada

She’s known for pushing the boundaries on what people expect of a popstar, but this time Lady Gaga may have gone to far.For performing in Canada, the 23-year-old shocked attendees by lighting up a cigarette and inhaling deeply – despite the fact smoking indoors is illegal in British Columbia.

Gaga: The controversial sing takes a drag of a cigarette onstage

Wearing a structured gold, bejewelled leotard, black leather gloves and fishnet tights, the Poker Face singer obviously couldn’t wait until she finished the sold out gig in Vancouver to indulge. This comes just days after the New York native met Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II when she performed at the Royal Variety show. The star went for a much less revealing look and thankfully the only smoke onstage during that set came from automated machines.

Wearing a revealing gold leotard the star obviously couldn’t wait until her sold-out gig in Vancouver was over to indulge

According to British Columbia law, smoking in all public spaces such as restaurants, pubs and private clubs, offices, malls, conference centres, arenas, community halls, government buildings and schools is banned. Those found guilty of breaking this law may be liable to a fine. However, as the singer clearly enjoyed the cigarette on stage last night, the potential consequences seemed to be the last thing on her mind.

Illegal: According to British Columbia law Gaga could now be fined

X Factor judge Dannii Minogue ‘to be replaced by Mel B’

Simon Cowell is secretly lining up ex-Spice Girl Mel B to replace Dannii Minogue on the X Factor next year, it was claimed last night. The feisty star, real name Melanie Brown, 34, is reportedly in talks with bosses of the ITV show after current judge Dannii Minogue hinted she may quit the show to start a family.Former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland, 28, is also being considered for the job, according to the Daily Mirror.

New judge? Dannii Minogue is reportedly thinking about quitting the X Factor to start a family. Mel B, who has been modelling lingerie and appearing in a Las Vegas show Peep ShowDannii, 38, is thought to have told Simon Cowell that she may not return next year. The loved-up judge has publically spoken of her boyfriend Kris Smith’s desire to start a family, and has also complained of feeling the ‘odd one out’ on the show.A source told the newspaper: ‘Simon thinks Mel would be brilliant as she is outspoken, down-to-earth and won’t hold back.’There were times in the current series that he felt things were a bit boring and he is certain sparks will fly with her on board.’It will be interesting to see whether she and Cheryl Cole will gel or whether it will be handbags at dawn.’

Dull? Current judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh. But Cowell thought the show was ‘a bit boring’ in parts, according to reports

Kelly Rowland was tiped to take over from Dannii when it looked like she may leave earlier this year and was invited to Simon’s 50th birthday party. The source added: ‘Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, it is highly likely Dannii won’t be on the panel next year and Simon is already thinking about a replacement.’Sparks flew when Dannii joined the judging panel two years ago when Sharon Osbourne was on the team.

She took an open dislike to the Australian star and claimed she was only on the show because Simon fancied her.

When Cheryl Cole joined the show last year, there were rumours of a rift between the pair as Dannii felt she had been sidelined. This year, they have appeared more friendly but Dannii admitted that they are not friends

CHERYL Cole wants to quit X Factor to have a baby

The show’s supremo Simon Cowell is desperate to keep his ace judge and ITV would double her £1.2million salary. But mega-rich Cheryl, below, has told him her decision is not about money. Last night an X Factor insider told us: “Cheryl has so much else going on in life. The number one thing on her mind is starting a family. The show is a huge commitment. It’s six months of the year. Cheryl wanted to have a baby with Ashley this year but put it off because of work. “She doesn’t want to wait much longer and she’s not keen on having to judge The X Factor while she’s heavily pregnant.”Cheryl, 26, has said: “I have friends who have put it off and I don’t want to do that. I’d love a big family.”As well as having children with Chelsea and England footballer Ashley Cole, the Geordie beauty has a successful music career to pursue.

Already a star in Girls Aloud, her solo work is the surprise talk of the music industry. Her first single Fight For This Love topped the charts and became the fastest selling song of the year after she performed it live on The X Factor. And her debut album 3 Words is on target to sell a million copies before the end of the year. Her act Alexandra Burke won X Factor last year and her protege this series, Joe McElderry, is hot favourite to win the contest tonight. Our show source added: “If you’ve won the show twice in a row what else is there left to prove? There’s massive demand in America for her to promote her music which is something she’s agreed to do.”

HugeA music industry expert added: “It’s not only America she has to tackle. Europe is a huge market with lots of countries she has to visit.”Cheryl also has her Girls Aloud commitments to honour with the group booked to record their next album late next year, clashing with X Factor.

Her uncertain future also makes fellow judge Dannii Minogue’s job safe for now.Our source added: “Girls Aloud are definitely recording their album at the end of next year.

“Cheryl has always said she’ll put music first but doing everything would put a massive strain on her. Something has to give.”Simon’s going to take time to reflect but until he’s signed up Cheryl there’s no way he’d let Dannii go anyway.”It’s crazy to think he would risk introducing two new female judges in the same year.”Contract negotiations between The X Factor judges and ITV do not begin until Spring. An ITV insider explained: “Simon hasn’t officially even done a deal with us to bring the show back next year.

“But he loves working with Cheryl and they’ve become very close friends.”He also knows how much the public adore her and how good she’s been for ratings.”Simon is very persuasive and Cheryl admires him hugely. He will try to get one last series out of her. For Simon it’s nothing short of a disaster if she does go through with what she’s thinking and walks out of the show.”

The films are available in the VIP section of paid-for adult website. In one video Vicky dons a pilot’s hat, skin- tight black uniform, stockings and heels as she purrs: “I’m dressed as a mile-high captain.”The 36DD Kandy girl then whips off her saucy get-up and writhes around groping herself before blowing a cheeky kiss to her online audience.

SIMON Cowell has revealed he wants superstar Robbie Williams to join the X Factor team as a FIFTH judge.

The show boss has told how he is planning a radical shake-up next year which is likely to include an extra “novelty” category to take in acts such as Jedward. And he wants Robbie and possibly another A-list star to join him, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue on the judging panel with Cheryl Cole’s future on the show in doubt.Cowell said that Robbie – who sang his most famous song Angels last night with Olly Murs and performed his single Bodies earlier in the series – could be the key to making next year’s show even better.

He said: “I would like to get Robbie Williams. He’s got good instincts.”He doesn’t take himself too seriously and he’s a fun guy to be around.”I’d love to have him there because I think he would be a good judge, full stop.”That’s why I like having Louis Walsh on the panel. He is fun to work with.”I don’t know if Robbie would want to do the show as he’s so busy but he would be great. A lot of things are going to change if we bring the show back.”He did not specify what the fifth category would be but Dannii has indicated they are looking at the novelty angle.Cowell is keen to inject more humour into the show and continue the huge success of acts like Jedward – John and Edward Grimes. He also denied rumours former Spice Girl Mel B will be taking a seat on the judging panel in 2010 in place of Dannii.Cowell, 50, said: “We have not approached Mel B to do the show. We met with Mel two or three years ago at the time we brought Cheryl in and didn’t know if Cheryl was going to accept.

THUMBS UP? Simon has plans for former Take That singer

“We also met Mel earlier this year to possibly get involved with a new show, not the X Factor. She wants to do the X Factor but she hasn’t been asked yet.”No deals have been concluded for next year, nothing. So we’re not in a position to talk to anybody about contracts.”The media mogul repeated his threat that if ITV does not find an extra £3million for the show’s budget he may AXE the show.He said the money was necessary to bring in more staff with many of the current team working round-the-clock to put on a good production. And he stressed he does not want to boost his £7.5million-a-year pay cheque.Cowell explained: “The reason we haven’t announced anything for next year is we’re seeing if we can work something out that will allow The X Factor to stay on in the UK for a few more years.”Everyone is really stretched right now. We need more people working on the show and that costs money.”There are a lot of people working 18 hours a day, seven days a week trying to keep this show running. We need more people. So I need that commitment from ITV. If you hire more dancers, more stylists, you need to add to the budgets.

EXHAUSTED – Simon blames huge workload

“Plus, when we’re flying people all around the world we need money.”Most people out there at the moment are asking for salary increases. We just want the money for the show. I haven’t asked for more money. I’m not looking for a pay rise. I wouldn’t ask for a raise if it meant we had less money for the show.”If we don’t reach a deal with ITV I will simply take a break. I am not going to work for anyone other than ITV and if we couldn’t come to a deal then we would say, ‘Thanks for the last few years, we’ve had a great time and that’s it.’”If we’re not going to work with ITV then that would be the end of The X Factor.”Cowell confirmed he will be launching The X Factor America, with himself at the helm, by 2011.

But he vowed to continue fronting his UK shows, which also includes Britain’s Got Talent, so long as a deal can be reached. Cowell said: “My gut feeling is X Factor will be on American TV in the next 18 months.”But he admitted his workload has left him so exhausted he wished he could clone himself. He joked: “I’m going to clone me to do all these shows. We’re in the middle of a scientific experiment right now. I’d make 50. I would live with one of them. He’d be like my friend.”Most importantly I am not running off from Britain to America.”Cowell went on to blame Dannii for ruining Stacey Solomon’s chances by trying to make her a clone of 2006 winner Leona Lewis.

He said: “If Stacey were to win the show, we would have to go right back to where she started from when we first saw her.”I would take her out of those stupid ballgowns and stop her trying to sound like Leona. I think she is a really good singer but all her originality has been stripped away from her.”Dannii is trying to make her Leona Mark II and you can’t do that. When Stacey sang Coldplay she was so good they sent her a platinum disc. She needs to do something that’s interesting.”On last night’s show, Stacey duetted with crooner Michael Buble on the old standard Feeling Good.

On Olly, his last contestant, Cowell added: “He’s like a new Robbie. I spent two days with him this week where we went to his home and I got to know him a bit more. I saw what he was like with a crowd and if he is looked after properly and given some decent records he could do really well.”"But Joe McElderry has been very underrated. He’s got a very good recording voice. We’re going to take our time on Joe if he does win. We’ll do our best and he could surprise a lot of people.”Prince Harry was in the audience for last night’s show. The 25-year-old royal is a huge fan and has told pals Joe is the best singer. But he loves cheeky chappy Olly and reckons Stacey Solomon is “hilarious.”An insider said: “Harry’s been watching the show since the start. He loves it! He was desperate to see it live and when his aides contacted ITV they were thrilled to get him on the guest list.”Like everyone, Harry loves Joe and reckons he has the best voice.

Joe has come along way from his first audition which was so long ago now. Singing Dance with My Father Again, which he also sung last night on the first part of the final show.

He has never disappointed in any of the type of songs he had to sing, each week when they change the genre in which to sing in. He really has been the most consistent performer throughout.

Last night singing (and even out singing- in my opinion) with George Michael, he just looked so happy to be singing with him.

His mentor has been fellow Geordie Cheryl Cole

So tonight tune in and vote Joe !!!

The winners song is “The Climb” originally by Miley Cyrus and as I love that song, I cannot wait to hear Joe’s version as it really will be just fantastic.

South Shields is routing for you!!!

Stacey Solomon has been voted off the X Factor this evening. After 3 performances, including a duet

Stacey Solomon has been voted off the X Factor this evening.

After 3 performances, including a duet with Michael Buble, the Dagenham Diva failed to receive as many votes as rivals Joe McElderry and Olly Murs. Stacey wowed the judges with What a Wonderful Word, Feelin’ Good and Who Wants to Live Forever.

The Essex lass took the news well, saying she was delighted to have made the final 3. Joe and Olly will now battle it out tomorrow night for the X Factor recording contract.

Pats and Eddy are off to drown their sorrows…. For now, enjoy Stacey’s duet with The Buble:

Do you think Stacey should have gone? Or should Olly or Joe have gotten the boot instead? Leave a comment.
