**I’ve answered question 3 for the 50 Questions thingamabob. Apparently, I sleep walk when I

**I’ve answered question 3 for the 50 Questions thingamabob.

Apparently, I sleep walk when I’m freezing. I know I woke up a few times last night because I was SO cold (I’m a pansy), but then I woke up this morning and I was on the couch…? How did that happen? I don’t sleep walk, so this is new. I vaguely remember plopping down on the couch, I guess my semi-conscious mind reasoned that if I went on the couch I would have to curl up more and therefore would be warmer. Which, actually kind of worked as far as I could tell, kudos to asleep me. Anyway, that started off my day with a certain dose of weirdness… and my neck kind of hurts no surprise. It is amazing to me how cold it was though, this is Florida for heavens sake. I’m probably not one to talk, because half my family is from Michigan. Now THAT is cold.

Moving on.

I am really excited because the season premier of Psych is tonight. I love that show, specifically James Roday, that man is amazing. I can’t recall of the top of my head how many seasons it has been going, but Shawn and Juliet finalllly have possibly started something. I’m not sure yet, I’ll have to watch it to find out. But really, how could they run the show this long and not have them be together, it’s insane. So I’m pumped. If you haven’t seen the show, I highly recommend it if you like silly humor and witty banter. It’s amazing.

I’ve been editing a bit today, one picture from my trip out to Tarpon Springs and one just from my house. Obviously, because I wouldn’t go out in public this way:

Curlers by kjirsten

and also the image from Tarpon Springs:

Miss Milwaukee Deep Sea Fishing by kjirsten

and another:

Sponge Docks by kjirsten

I’m very excited to announce that I am now employed! Thank god. I HATE HATE HAAAAATTEED being broke all the time. It’s a seasonal position, but hey if I show ‘em what I got they’ll want to keep me. I’m good like that.

Tonight was officially the last day I got to talk to Cam from his cell phone, he starts the real boot camp stuff tomorrow, our nine month anniversary. He’s such a sweet heart. He has told me every night that he loves me and misses me.

I’ve been doing really good about not falling apart or missing him too much. but I had the overwhelming desire for a deep kiss earlier. That’s what I miss the most. Kisses. *sigh* no point in getting upset about it.

I thought getting a job was on my list but it wasn’t… so all I really did to help my list today was read a little bit.

Cam is now safely in Georgia. I won’t hear from him for a couple weeks, but he has been so incredibly sweet the last couple days I have plenty to go on. I love that boy and I’m gonna marry him!

Now my Day Zero list is really rolling. Today alone I’ve written a song, applied to three different places, was offered to play a 20 minute set later this month, came down to the last 100 pages of this big ass book, and finished 4 pages of me and Cam’s first year scrap book.

Tomorrow I will be hanging out with Lindsey and we’re gonna bake all day! so that will be more progress on my list. I’m going to actually go to my Wednesday night class and drop my Thursday night class.

I can’t sleep. and that’s taken its toll on my working out. I’ve been stretching my legs and groin muscles so I can eventually do the splits.

This is my last weekend with my boyfriend before he leaves for eight months to do his National Guard

This is my last weekend with my boyfriend before he leaves for eight months to do his National Guard boot camp and AIT. I know deep in my heart that this will be a wonderful thing for when we start our family, but it doesn’t soften the blow. I hold him extra tight as we sleep and give him extra kisses every chance I get. I love this boy. Usually if a significant other says they are going away for a long time, I don’t even pretend that I’ll wait on them. But with Cameron I will because I know that there is no one better for me in this world. We’ve been friends for so long and when we finally took the step to be more than friends after almost eight years it was perfect from the start. I’ve found my one and only and I’ll wait for him.

But anyways…. today is my little brothers 18th birthday! I say little brother even though he is a foot taller than me and built like a line backer…. He has grown into such a wonderful man. He is smart funny kind hearted and driven. I am proud to call him my brother

While Cameron’s gone I will throw myself into school and my list! so expect a lot more progress from me!!

It is a week before my boyfriend leaves for boot camp and AIT for the National Guard. 8 months total. Today my aunt, a photographer on the side, took us out to a state park and we took a lot of really great pictures, I look forward to seeing them so much! We went straight from there to my grandpa’s to watch the colts game, but we didn’t end up staying long. After we left there we came home and played a card game called hand and foot for hours with my mom. It was a great day.

In regards to my list I finished reading the first of my 100 books and you can find the review on the tab above. It was a great book called Thirst No. 1 and it was wonderful.

I am also on day three of 365project, which will be a lot more fun now that I have Photoshop c5

…well its 4:45 am and I have shit to do….

My name is Kjirsten, or KJ, and I’m starting this blog to keep up with my progress on my Day Zero project. Which, is when you set 101 goals to do within a 1001 day time span. I tend to find random projects to keep myself busy, I’m also in the process of 365 days and 52 weeks photography projects (link below). So, now my new project (or rather additional one) is 101 goals in 1001 days. I have yet to actually think of 101, right now I have about 30-something, but I’ll think of them eventually.

Anyway, I’m 18 years old and a sophomore in college. I just moved to Tampa from Chicago and am (slowly) adjusting to the humidity. I’m an Air Force brat and have been lucky enough to move and travel to a few places. I’m a dancer and I used to be a dance teacher when I lived in Hawaii, but I’m getting my degree in Criminology. I have various and sundry hobbies; cooking, digital/film photography, diving, and finding random things to keep me occupied.

The link to my photography site is here.

I’m 32. In July 2006 I sold my flat in Glasgow, Scotland to travel and work abroad. A lot of the plans I’m made have been pretty spontaneous and as a result I’ve ended up living and working in Germany, Kandahar airbase in Afghanistan, 3 different Canadian provinces, Guernsey in the Channel Islands and I’ve recently moved to Cork City in Ireland.

Inspired by a friend I met in Ottawa, Canada, I started my Day Zero list. http://www.dayzeroproject.com – a list of 101 things you want to achieve in the next 1001 days. I haven’t completed my list yet therefore I haven’t really started it yet but I think it’s a good way to re-focus my goals after having already achieved a lot that I wanted to achieve in the last few years and also being disappointed by some things I didn’t get the chance to fit in. The Day Zero Project website gives you lots of ideas and inspiration from other peoples lists and as a result I found out today about ’50 Questions That Will Free Your Mind’. Answering these 50 questions is one of the most popular tasks that have been added to other people’s Day Zero lists, at the moment it’s number 25 in popularity. I thought this would be interesting and had no idea what sort of questions they would be but I googled the list of questions and here they are with my answers:

1.	How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? Either about 1 year old or really old and senile.
2.	Which is worse, failing or never trying? Definitely never trying.
3.	If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? Doing things we don’t like usually has a good outcome. If you don’t like your job you still go until you get another one because you need money to live. Most people don’t like to do housework but it’s much more relaxing in the end to live in a clean and clutter free house and have clean clothes to wear than to decide not to do the housework and live in a dirty, cluttered existence. We don’t do things we do like either due to lack of money or ‘not getting round to it’. I’m determined to get round to things more often, hence my Day Zero list to remind me and I’m going to learn to manage my money in a much better way to enable me to do things that are the most important and will enhance my life.
4.	When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done? Probably, pretty sad!
5.	What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world? I’d like everyone to enjoy the same freedom I do.
6.	If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich? Writing!
7.	Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing? At the moment I am definitely settling! Hopefully that will change in the next year, no, it WILL change!
8.	If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently? I don’t think I would!
9.	To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken? I think I’ve mostly been in control but there are always outside influences you have no control over. I still believe in fate and think certain things were meant to be and certain bad things that have happened were still meant to be because good things have come from them.
10.	Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things? Doing the right things.
11.	You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do? Stand up for my friend of course, silly question!
12.	If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be? ALWAYS do what makes you happy in life. Never listen to other people’s opinions on what you should be doing. If you finish High School and still don’t know what you want to do with your life, don’t go to college or university just for the sake of it! Take time out until you find yourself, travel if you can. College will always be there if you need it and figure out what you want to do there, otherwise it’s pretty much a waste of time. Life itself is a great college!
13.	Would you break the law to save a loved one? Of course!
14.	Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity? I can’t remember a time but I’m sure it’s possible.
15.	What’s something you know you do differently than most people? Live my life! Most people my age have settled not far from home and are married and/or have kids. I’ve spent the last four years travelling and working abroad. I’ve lived and worked in 5 different countries away from home and 3 different Canadian provinces. Most of my plans have been pretty spontaneous.
16.	How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy? That’s what makes me an individual! If we all liked the same things the world would be a lot more boring and we’d have a lot less to talk about.
17.	What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back? Snowboarding! If I were to make an excuse I’d say I’ve never been in the right place at the right time including when I was in Canada. Lack of funds is also an issue; it’s not a cheap sport. From now on I’m going to channel my money and efforts where they belong, in the next year; I WILL take my first snowboarding lesson!!!
18.	Are you holding onto something you need to let go of? Not anymore! Things feel pretty new right now.
19.	If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why? Canada of course, specifically BC. I’ve been there, I feel at home there, I love the lifestyle, I miss it!
20.	Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster? I did in the past but I don’t know. I’m fully aware it won’t make it go faster. Same with the button at the traffic lights.
21.	Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton? A joyful simpleton!
22.	Why are you, you? Who else would I be?
23.	Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend? Yes!
24.	Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you? Losing touch!
25.	What are you most grateful for? My friends and family. Predictable but true.
26.	Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones? That’s the hardest question in the world! I can’t choose! It’s horrible to think I’d never make new memories the rest of my life, I think life has a lot more great things to bring. Losing old memories would mean never being able to remember my Mum or my Gran, painful!!!
27.	Is it possible to know the truth without challenging it first? Yes. Not always though.
28.	Has your greatest fear ever come true? Yes
29.	Do you remember that time 5 years ago when you were extremely upset? Does it really matter now? Yes I DO remember what I was extremely upset about 5 years ago, this is a freaky question. It still matters but it’s not holding me back anymore!
30.	What is your happiest childhood memory? What makes it so special? My Mum waiting at the window to wave when we arrived home from school and sitting eating snacks with us watching Punky Brewster and discussing our day with us. It was special because it was quality time with my Mum. It was about spending time together and that was it!
31.	At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive? Travelling and camping around BC with Jason.
32.	If not now, then when? Next month! Jason will be here. This month is just about finding my feet in a new city and sorting out the financial situation.
33.	If you haven’t achieved it yet, what do you have to lose? Nothing! I’m putting a plan in to action, it’s not like I’m doing nothing!
34.	Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever? Yes
35.	Why do religions that support love cause so many wars? You can be the most peaceful person in the world but if someone turned up, beat you to a pulp, raped your female relatives and killed your children, it would be pretty impossible to still want to be a peaceful person. It’s human nature to retaliate when you feel you’ve been treated badly. It’s also human nature to find it difficult to see the other person’s point of view when your own beliefs are so strong.
36.	Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil? Yes. Common sense.
37.	If you just won a million dollars, would you quit your job? Yes. I’m not lazy though, I would use the million dollars to facilitate being able to do a job that truly makes me happy. When the need to make money to make ends meet is taken out of the equation, it gives you the power to do what really matters.
38.	Would you rather have less work to do, or more work you actually enjoy doing? More work I actually enjoy doing.
39.	Do you feel like you’ve lived this day a hundred times before? No! Things are pretty new right now.
40.	When was the last time you marched into the dark with only the soft glow of an idea you strongly believed in? 10 days ago! I moved to Cork, having no idea what to expect when I got here and having never been to the Republic of Ireland before. I just felt it was a good move and will allow Jason and I to be together for now. I had a feeling I would be happy in Ireland and I think I will be when I get a bit more settled.
41.	If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today? Jillian
42.	Would you be willing to reduce your life expectancy by 10 years to become extremely attractive or famous? No. I’m already extremely attractive in the eyes of the only people who matter. Being famous is not important at all, it’s better to be genuinely loved by a few than adored by many!
43.	What is the difference between being alive and truly living? Being alive is just existing – going to work, going to the supermarket, eating your dinner, watching TV, going to bed. Truly living is about getting out there in the world and actually experiencing it! Always do something you feel passionate about no matter what it is, even if it’s as simple as taking your child or your dog for a walk every day or finding time to read or write every day.
44.	When is it time to stop calculating risk and rewards, and just go ahead and do what you know is right? When your gut tells you to! You can’t calculate everything and if you don’t ever take risks you will never achieve anything.
45.	If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake? They still hurt at the time even if we learn from them later, nobody likes to hurt.
46.	What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you? Sing more often.
47.	When was the last time you noticed the sound of your own breathing? When I was trying to fall asleep and feeling peaceful.
48.	What do you love? Have any of your recent actions openly expressed this love? I love to travel and experience new places. Yes, I’ve recently moved to Cork, never been to the Republic of Ireland before, only a brief visit to Northern Ireland about 16 years ago.
49.	In 5 years from now, will you remember what you did yesterday? What about the day before that? Or the day before that? I might vaguely remember because it was my first proper day in a new job I wasn’t particularly happy with. The day before that was my very first day and the day before that I got the interview. I don’t think any of these three days will ever go on my most memorable day’s list but I think I will vaguely remember.
50.	Decisions are being made right now. The question is: Are you making them for yourself, or are you letting others make them for you? I am definitely making decisions for myself right now.
