It is so hard to comprehend Love – no I am not talking about the whole boy meets girl thing – seriously, Love. The Love the most talked about man (MJ) in the past 3 weeks sings of when he belts out “Heal the World”, or those in songs about friendship and family. What is it? Why do I witness contradiction, this almost time-differentiated understanding, this pain – almost conjoined with some form of utmost love?

You, Love, make yourself incomprehensible.

You have no humanely possible rules, you have no perceived boundaries, and your pain can be looked upon as a pure expression of Yourself.

I am close to angry with You – but I stop and realise, it is because of You that I am compelled to protect, urgh. If only You were provable in Fitch.

Then again, I won’t ever want to try proving You in Fitch – I would then, lose all essence of You.

This is a beautiful story.

An old American Muslim lived on a farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Quran. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could.

One day the grandson asked, ‘Grandpa! I try to read the Quran just like you but I don’t understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Quran do?’

The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, ‘Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water.’

The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, ‘You’ll have to move a little faster next time,’ and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead.

The old man said, ‘I don’t want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You’re just not trying hard enough,’ and he went out the door to watch the boy try again.

At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got back to the house. The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breath, he said, ‘See Grandpa, it’s useless!’

‘So you think it is useless?’ The old man said, ‘Look at the basket.’

The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out.

‘Son, that’s what happens when you read the Quran. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out. That is the work of Allah in our lives.’

so , before my blog turns into a korean blog 0.0 , let me just update about something not k-related?. let me talk about… everything that have been happening! lol, though my life is pretty much kstuff all over haha!

sooo….. let’s see! past week have been…… breezy. was pretty long but i guess, since i enjoyed it, it was fast? the weekend feels like it passed by faster though ): anyway from now on, when i want to talk about school, i’m going to blog my new friends’ names only by their nickname ok! the wonders of wordpress and it’s blogsearch function. pfft.

sooo, one of my classmate’s, apple, birthday was on one of the days during the term break. so we planned a mini birthday surprise for her on the first day of school. pretty cool ^^ we bought mango cake and had our lecturer played a funny birthday song on YT and we brought her in and yeahhh. photos is with the lecturer so if it’s uploaded on her fb, i’ll kope! if not then…. zzz. apple’s pretty cool, she reminds me of ber! but then on the way home, i was telling des that apple reminds me of one of my friends and he was going on and on about dont know what theory . lol, so naggy! :p

thennn, thursday i saw belindapoon! from far )): and in school the same day, we shared possesed stories which was damn freaky 0.0 and the same day, i had a random omgimisstpjc feeling which stayed like… the whole freaking day! lol!  then  friday was really nice! because i finally meet up with amineh!!!!!!!! yes, that girl who’s not wise anymore yo! hahaha! talk eat eat talk talk talk. and oh, i bought another HOODIE ^^  crazy or not i ask you! hahhaa! syiyar, you want buy same with me right. With only 160 shopping days left, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in some stores.After U.S. retailers posted 10 straight months of sales declines, some chains are trying to bring holiday spirit — and revenue — to the summer with “Christmas in July” promotions. Both Sears Holdings Corp (SHLD.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and privately held Toys R Us TOY.UL are holding wintry holiday-themed events this summer ahead of their back-to-school promotions, which usually start around the end of July.

Sears began its sale last week. The company decked the halls of about one-third of its 930 namesake stores, as well as its Sears and Kmart websites, by touting cold-weather gear and snow-topped porcelain collectibles at the same time as it sells inflatable swimming pools, sundresses and sandals.

Toys R Us is planning a similar event, but with more emphasis on holiday-themed pricing of roughly 50 percent off bicycles, video games, doll houses and portable DVD players.

While the chain won’t be selling holiday merchandise, it will be bringing unseasonal cheer, complete with Christmas cards and candy canes, to its stores on July 25.

“Everyone needs a little Christmas, right this very minute,” the company said in a release last week.

Vet inte riktigt vad som har hänt, men efter att ha blivit helt fascinerad av Marilyn Manson’s Den långa vägen ut ur helvetet så har jag också börjat leta efter mer intervjuer, musik och videos. Vad jag hittade var något jag inte hade väntat mig. Varför jag ens köpte boken från början har jag inte riktigt förstått själv, Marilyn Manson har alltid varit någon man har vetat om, men aldrig brytt sig om riktigt. Har aldrig lyssnat på hans musik, förutom ett fåtal covers han har gjort, jag har alltid trott att han var en sinnessjuk man som inte riktigt visste vad han gjorde, bara att han fick uppmärksamhet och pengar till sprit och droger.

När jag öppnade boken mitt i natten, i brist på annat att göra, fastnade jag direkt. Allt var så annorlunda än vad jag hade väntat mig. Jag erkänner att han nu inte är den mest klokaste mannen och att han någonstans på vägen hamnade snett, missbruket förbättrar antagligen inte det, men han är ändå otroligt intelligent. Hans beteende har en grund och även om han själv bidrog till hur hans egen barndom artade sig, så har det en stor del i hur hans ser på saker och ting. Jag säger inte att han är helt underbar och jättesmart och allt det där, utan jag vill bara att man nog inte ska ta alla för givet riktigt. Och nu inser jag hur mycket jag flöt iväg från det ursprungliga ämnet, vad jag ville säga var att Ja, Hanne lyssnar nu på Marilyn Manson. Kanske inte världens mest intressanta nyhet, gissar att många av de som ens kommit såhär lång, inte bryr sig ett skit om vad jag lyssnar på. Vad ville jag ens säga med detta? Kommer jag inte ihåg.

Ha det najs, ville egentligen bara skriva av mig lite antar jag…

So, as I’ve mentioned, I recently spent a little time up in a studio in Maynooth working preproduction for an EP I should be putting out in late August, entitled ‘Of A World At The End Of All Days’. The lyrics of the five songs prepared for the collection revolve around a world where everything has fallen apart, and the the stories of the survivors of the downfall.

We also hope to get some additional tracks recorded, a final recording of ‘Guardian’ being one, as well as ‘Where Trees Still Grow’, ‘Beneath A Gold And Silver Standard’ and ‘The Sun To A Dial’, some new songs I’ve been writing.

I intend to release ‘Of A World At The End of All Days’ and (hopefully) a second collection of the other four songs, for free download under a Creative Commons licence, and will also be making CD-R’s available, including a limited quantity with handmade recycled packaging and a glossy insert.

I’ll be updating throughout the recording process, and hopefully document some of it on video. Whether or not I’ll be able to share them depends entirely on when I figure how to get longer videos onto YouTube from my iPhone.

I am also in the process of designing the layout for a new website. Solely for professionalisms sake, but also as a hub from which all music, art and such material I end up making can be easily obtained. I’ll be integrating this WordPress into the site also.

In other news, I am working with a talented group of people named Run The Bull. I recently finished writing the Manifesto of the group, which explains more or less exactly what we’re aiming to achieve.

The Run The Bull Manifesto

The idea is simple. A collective of individuals working together to create. Without a leader or a single direction, where every member is entirely individual and has equal say, every member works towards a goal, and every member works together.

Art has become something to be bought or sold and shaped by men who know nothing of it. Something that has more to do with money than with expression. Commerce as opposed to communication. And sadly the true artists left are struggling to deal with systems that demand large sums of money for the simple desire to exhibit whatever medium they’ve chosen. And with the basic act of making their work available being so out of reach, they must turn to others to ask them it’s value. Those who know nothing of creativity.

This is wrong.

Run The Bull was a collaborative formed between friends with different interests, and different methods, but a common aim. To create. To communicate. The idea has developed, and now has expanded to a larger cooperative that between it’s members, has the opportunity to work with a large array of mediums, from physical paintings to graphic design, music and drama, to film and photography, as well as united works between each field.

The aim is to put control of the art into the hands of the people who made it, and to give those people the chance to exhibit it. The way we do this is by being a self-reliant organisation, sharing the responsibilities and financial burdens equally, and dealing with them as a group. The astronomical cost of venue hire in Dublin City simply becomes more achievable when divided tenfold.

Basically we pool our resources to show our work in nice places and make pictures and noise at everyone.

The other benefit of the collective is that it opens up opportunities for people to work and learn in new mediums, with new inspirations, and carry out ideas that were previously impossible. Writers could have the prospect of scripting a short film, then carry it out with dramatists and cinematographers from the group without having to pay for outside help. People who cannot work with pencils and paper can describe images to skilled artists and see their ideas developed on a page or canvas.

In short, the idea behind Run The Bull is to remove as many boundaries as possible, financial or otherwise and enjoy a creative freedom that would be unattainable without cooperation..

Joy’s going away with her mother, to her mom’s friend’s house. Usually, this wouldn’t bother me, but she’s going away for five days… that’s one day, then a second, then a third, then a fourth, then a fifth… and 1+1+1+1+1=5. If you haven’t already grasped it, that means she’ going away for five days…

Okay, so let’s get this straight… I can’t talk to Joy for five days. If you’re a smoker, imagine not having even a slight puff for five days.

I’ll try to call her, but it’ll be damn expensive.

Love Story

I like the rain, it brings so many memories back and although I would have gladly gone to school today I thank God for rain. Of course I don’t like the bad stuff that it brings, leptospirosis and floods in the city but it gives you latak feelings and a good night’s sleep – in my case anyway. I read a few stat messages and blogs that said that they don’t like the rain and they wish the sun would come up already. But the sun brings bad stuff too. Drought, bungang-araw, sweat (in a bad way), dehydration. As it brings the good, like surfing and going to the beach. All I’m saying is be thankful for what life brings, no whining. Make the most of it and get your candlesticks and emergency numbers ready.

I am a hypocrite of course – I’m a whiner-baby through and through. I didn’t like that I couldn’t go to Jonty’s place for the McCann reunion, nor that the CADs acquaintance party was cancelled. But still, I got to rest today. i’ve been glued to my dining table / work station since last week. My back’s aching and I haven’t had a decent amount of sleep that I’m breaking out already. (See? Whiner-baby)

And I got to spend decent time with Glenn today. He helped me with my errands and my proposal. We played Plants Vs. Zombies, Peggle and Chuzzle. Chill lang. The house is  kinda lonely these days because sila baby Sabby are still in Cotabato. Not complaining that they’re there. – it’s only the me being alone part.

Tomorrow I will pass me and Sab’s proposal (Sab Jose, mind you) and I need to watch a play for school. I hope i can watch Harry Potter 6 na. No spoilers!

Will be sleeping before 12! Yes!

Dining/Work station and Glenn

Another day of work at steepie-hills! tamade the 961 bus driver actually had the bloody cheek to stop at king albert park and talked on his mobile for 4 hours (actually its just 10 minutes. but i was furious). miss-z (yours sincerely) almost missed my steepie shuttle bus! IS SMRT GOING TO PAY FOR MY TAXI FARE UP THE MOUNTAINS?

Up at steepie-hills, in a small corner called MARCOM, i got news that someone resigned. with this news, i’m pretty sure the marcom manager has her head swollen to the size of 4 bukit timah field sizes, seeing that her department strength has suddenly dropped 50% from a grand total of 2 (!!!) to 1. food for thought though, is the turnover rate of employees that high in singapore country club scene?

the later part of the day, at exactly time to knock off, Mr-Z was already waiting for me at door steps. he wanted to go geylang, and as the sweet and faithful missus that i am, i had to say yes. in typical fashion, he saw the selection and picked what he wanted, and i was happy for him and myself too! though this time it was decided that we had less porridge and more frogs!

so as i’m writing this, we’ve just returned from the red light lands, with many others there just beginning to start their daily (i’m not too sure on this) routine of work. 3 magazines on the table, a tall cup of java chip for me, and a grande iced caramel machiato for Mr-Z, and the friendly starbucks staff still screaming orders away,

is time to dig deep into the month’s CLEO!

I will be doing my first Arts and Craft Show this Saturday, July 18 2009, in Sparta, Mi. 

Sparta (a neighboring town for me) celebrates each July with the Sparta Town & Country Days, which is a week full of fun family activities and more.  The Arts and Craft Show will be held at Balyeat Field (click for map of Sparta Parks) 9am – 4pm. There are lots of other great stuff going on then too, for the Saturday schedule, click here.  

I’m a little nervous, with this being the first time selling my art off the internet. I don’t have the typical Art show set up, the fancy walls for hanging work, but I will have to make do with my tables and easles. Everyone has to start with something, right?  I will have with me about 30-40 pieces, ranging from 5×10 framed prints to 20×20 canvas print to 20×30 framed prints. Some of my more popular peices like, Echinacea Dark Dreams, Ephemeral Partings, A Pinch of Blue and Lil Red Riding Hood will be there, along with some new prints.

So come on out, stop by, and show me some love

After four dry days, showers are returning to Perth and are likely each day through to the end of next week, bringing 30 to 50 millimetres of  rain.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

The area from Mandurah to Margaret River should be the wettest with more than 50mm for some.

The wettest days are likely to be today, Saturday and Monday as three cold fronts link up with bands of cloud from the Indian Ocean.

These days are also likely to be the windiest with potential severe gusts of 90kmh or stronger in coastal parts, south of about Perth. Winds of this strength can bring down trees. Gusts in excess of 100kmh cannot be ruled out.

July is traditionally the wettest month of the year for southwest Western Australia and this coming wet spell will take most of the region to about two-thirds of the monthly average. So far, less than half the monthly average rainfall has fallen.

Perth has had 52mm, compared to the average of 149mm.

With this rain to come, this July is still unlikely to be wetter than last year when 179mm fell.
