Elin J mötte upp hemma hos mig på fredagen där det blev hårklippning deluxe. Även om det redan känns lite för långt i nacken. Suck. Sedan blev det lite öl och mat på Götgatasbacken med Elin L och Jansson till tonerna av folk som tittade på hockey. Efter det bar det av till terminalen där vi efter incheckning insåg att de redan börjat släppa på folk. Otroligt, aldrig varit där så sent innan. Vi hann inte ens dricka dräggöl på terminalen. Ganska skönt.

Sedvanlig förfest i hytten, till fantastiskt musik. Lite Blindside, lite Blowsight, men framförallt Manboy och Sexy Bitch. Det enda som fattades var en strippstång i hytten. Efter lite letande efter speltider och dylikt insåg vi (eller ja, jag åtminstone) att Sparzanza gott kunde missas till fördel för mer awesome fest i hytten innan det var dags att se Blowsight.

Och vilken spelning de gjorde. Har inte sett dem så bra sen 2008 någon gång. RÖJ!
Precis som det ska vara. Blowsight är trots allt snarare ett band jag headbangar tills jag inte kan lyfta huvudet till, än står och är emo till.

Den här spelningen var med andra ord helt underbar. Tyvärr inga kort, varken på Blowsight eller något annat. Jag lovar. Kamera. Snart.

Efter dem skuttade jag lyckligt, och ganska töntigt, tillbaka till de andra som valde att inte stå längst fram, drack lite drink och blev min vana trogen jättestressad att jag skulle missa något vid scenen. Drog sålunda med mig Elin J längst fram för att rocka loss till Blindside. Hon försvann dock efter ett tag och det slutade med att jag och André (Sherlock Brothers) som tydligen kom med båten ändå, stod och röjde som fan. Och det var… Helt otroligt. Helt otroligt bra. När man headbangar och ändå lyckas flina som ett fån samtidigt. Trodde dessutom att det skulle vara slut efter ‘Fell In Love With the Game’. Men nejdå, de hade visst speltid kvar och rev av ‘Sleepwalking’, ‘Pitiful’… Herregud. Kan säga att jag starkt överväger att dra på hela Putte i Parken, inte bara endagspass till Kaizers Orchestra. Det är väldigt lockande.

Efter detta helt amazing gig (ENERGIN!) upptäcker jag att min väska är puts väck, ett mindre bakslag. Men låter inte detta dra ner mitt humör, bara att anmäla som stulen och gå ner till hytten för ett par drinkar till. Och ‘Sexy Bitch’… Och ‘Manboy’. Såklart. Missade större delen av Dead by April (med flit) men lyckades med felfri tajming dra med mig Jansson lagom till ‘Losing You’ så att jag kunde skrika i falsett på bästa DbA-manér.

Sedan var det allmän fest, prat med folk, skälla ut folk för att de inte har tillräckligt med musik på sin offlineplaylist för att i nästa sekund börja vråla om vilken fantastisk person det är som har Kashmir på samma lista, av alla band. Helt förlåten, haha.
Somna på en soffa (hoppsan, men jag var ju trött) och sedan komma tillbaka till hytten runt.. 07? En timmes sömn, sedan upp till frukostbuffén. Får INTE missas. Fick en hel skål med kanel till mina flingor som någon i personalen spenderade 15min med att leta fram <3

Sen bara att sova tills det var dags för The Knockouts. Fan fan fan att jag tog mina alldeles för höga klackar så att jag inte kunde dansa. Det var ett bra gig. Började riktigt bra, slutade mindre bra. Och vadå inte spela ‘Queen of the Underground’? VA?! Inte okej nånstans.
Festade vidare i hytten för att glömma den lilla besvikelsen, missade när Jimmie lekte Gollum med DeathDestruction men kan nog leva med det. Elin L satte igång ‘Truly, Madly, Deeply’ med Savage Garden och vi fick helt obeskrivliga blickar av folk som gick förbi. Drog igång Disturbed istället för att inte bli utkastade från båten eller så.

Sedan, till det absolut mest underbara som hände. Det kommer två tjejer. Med min VÄSKA! De hade hittat hyttkortet i min plånbok och sedan hittat oss. I låg plånboken, utan leg, ingen mobil och så. Men ändå.
Ett par timmar senare kommer en av tjejerna tillbaka. MED MITT LEG! 400spänn! Sedan beskriver jag min mobil för henne varpå hon försvinner för att knacka dörr. Finns det ens så bra människor?

Såg dock inte till henne mer, men men. Kommer ner till hytten ytterligare några timmar senare går in… tankarna i mitt huvud:
“åh, nice där är min mobil HERREGUD DE HITTADE MOBILEN!!!”
Då har de alltså letat upp mobilen och sedan övertalat en vakt i en kvart om att få bli insläppta och lämna in mobilen eftersom ingen var i hytten. Min tro på mänskligheten är återupprättad.

Och på de härliga tonerna avslutades kryssningen. Sedan blev det mat hos mig, massor av youtube och till sist en kort men trevlig visit på Medusa innan det var dags att ta sig hem och sova.

SLIPKNOT, IN FLAMES AND A NEW VENUE FOR SONISPHERE SWEDEN

Now in it’s 3rd year Sonisphere festival once again decends upon Sweden!  This year Sonisphere will take place in Stockholm but not at Stora Skuggan as with last year but a new venue in the South of the city in and around the Globe arena.

So who’s playing this year?  Well after Metallica and Iron Maiden playing to 40,000 and 50,000 strong crowds respectively the last 2 years, this year with a slimmed down capacity of 18,000 we have SLIPKNOT and IN FLAMES revealed as headliners and joining them will be MASTODON, MUSTASCH, AIRBOURNE, DEAD BY APRIL, KVELERTAK, GRAVEYARD.

PUTTE I PARKEN ANNOUNCE MORE ACTS

Organisers have announced today that Daniel Adams Ray and Stefan Sundström have been confirmed for PIP 2011

They will be joined by The Concretes, Dead By April, Those Dancing Days, Her Bright Skies, Cold Spell and Fight Club.

This is the forth time that Summerlin have supported My Passion in the North East, and yet the Leeds lads still manage to make their sickly sweet pop-punk massively entertaining, as they have the whole room engaged with clap and bounce-a-longs. Although, sometimes cheesy with their synchronised dance moves, you can’t help but smile, as they have this instant connection and likeability, something that a lot of support acts fail to achieve. These guys can definitely go a long way.

In a stark contrast, Swedish metallers Dead By April are up next, and it’s clear that a good portion of tonight’s crowd have soley came for them. It’s an interesting sound, while sometimes delivering the most punishing death metal with Zandro Santiago‘s lethal growls and ball-busting breakdowns, there’s also sounds reminiscent of Linkin Park with Jimmie Strimell‘s more melodic vocals, but it somehow works. Only on for 30-minutes, it does, however, start to get rather samey and monotonous to the untrained ear.

Adorning their trademark monochrome outfits, it’s finally time for tonight’s headliners, My Passion, as former drummer, Jonathan Gaskin, takes to the stage with frontman Laurence René as they trade vocals, really adding something fresh to their live performance. There’s no doubt that Gaskin is tonight’s MVP, not only providing additional vocals, but also lending his talents to the keyboard and guitar, while new drummer Jamie Nicholls effortlessly pounds away in the back, never looking more at home.

In an interesting switch-up, typical set-closer Days of The Bees, is played half way through, with the electro-goth quintet inviting a couple of lucky fans to dance on stage. There’s a lot of new material with the likes of In My Fever and Seven Birds, and set staples Crazy and Me and Thanks For Nothing sounding completely revitalised with the modified line-up.

With My Passion, they perform as a band, it’s not just one frontman giving it his all, every member on stage catches your attention. They don’t just play songs, they put on a proper show and it’s truly staggering how they’re unsigned, as they end with new single Asleep In The Assylum. This band truly deserve every bit of success coming their way.

Dead By April always put on a great show, and tonight was no exception. Ok so the testing of samples with vocal back track did put me off a bit, but they are so ace live. Relegated to the corner of the stage in the sold out show there wasn’t much room for changing angles but I am really pleased with some of the shots .

The single “Open your Eyes” hits the stores on October 11th but you can already listen to it here… and then buy the single of course. A great cause and a very good song too. It’s hard to close your eyes when you know these kind of things happen every day. Kids can be very cruel and so can adults, but when this goes on in school where you think children are safe, well it is just very, very sad and heartbreaking : (  And no one should be ignorant about the reality of the matter, that there is a lot of abuse going on out there. Everything from name calling to harassment and bodily harm. The latest is bullying through your cellular. This is such a big problem that many schools have prohibited Cellular phones.

DEATHDESTRUCTION — the new Swedish metal “supergroup” featuring members of EVERGREY, HAMMERFALL and DEAD BY APRIL — entered IN FLAMES’ IF Studios on February 15 with producer Roberto Laghi (IN FLAMES, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, LOK, SONIC SYNDICATE)
DEATHDESTRUCTION is:

Jimmie Strimell (DEAD BY APRIL) – Vocals
Henrik Danhage (EVERGREY) – Guitar
Fredrik “Loppan” Larsson (HAMMERFALL) – Bass
Jonas Ekdahl (EVERGREY) – Drums

Formed in late 2003 by Danhage, Ekdahl and EVERGREY keyboardist Rikard Zander (who was handling the vocals in the band’s earliest incarnation), DEATHDESTRUCTION began as an innocent “hobby project” before Henrik and Jonas realized they wanted to pursue the band more seriously. They eventually parted ways with Rikard and enlisted Larsson and Strimmell, both of whom were “very excited to join the band,” according to the group’s official bio.
